I wouldn't wait 'till then if I were you. In my region the rebate is currently $1500.00 or 0% for 48 months, and that runs through tomorrow COB. We'll have the new incentives Tuesday morning. I imagine they may stay the same or disappear. Siennas have been selling briskly as of late so selection is dwindling. Come August you may not find the color and package you're looking for.

If you're taking the 0% instead of the rebate than add the $1500.00 to the price they quoted you.

Happy to read you got the vehicle you wanted at the price you wanted to pay. A couple of things, Toyota does not have an over capacity problem in its US factories, quite the opposite. You may go to www.pressroom.toyota.com and read about the recent acquisition of a Subaru factory to build more Camrys since the Kentucky and Japan plants cannot keep up with demand. With the goal of building every car they sell in North America more plants will be sprouting across the US, Canada, and soon Mexico. Most dealerships are not very busy on Sundays especially around noon since most people are at church. I bet if you would have bought your car yesterday the place would have been packed. Enjoy your Sienna.

I was offered a price of $37,100 (including dest fee) plus tax and tags for a Sienna XLE AWD HW pkg # 9 (DVD rear ent system and NAV). Is this a good deal? Also, any comments on AWD vs FWD in this vehicle?

I'm looking to get a Sienna CE 8 passenger with Option 2 but it seems like Option 2 isn't very popular (at least in the Southern California area). Anyone have any experience with this.

Also, has anyone used Cars Direct to buy their car. The Cars Direct price for the above car is 22,287 (including rebate) which seems to beat the KBB and Edmunds pricing but I don't know if it's possible to get in this area.

I can't pull it off this week but next week I am going to heat up my search. If we are talking about a few hundred, I would rather have my color and options...but if we are talking $1000, the color wouldn't matter....Hopefully the July deals are better than June deals.

I have an offer for a Sienna XLE, with pkg #4 (leather, Traction and Stability control, heated driver and pass seats) and an aftermarket DVD player w/10.2 inch screen, 2 wireless headphones, tv tuner, for $32,510 OTD (that includes taxes, title, tags). I think it's a pretty good deal. This includes the $1500 rebate. This is from Hendrick Toyoyta in Concord NC. :):)

I am actually interested in the name of the Sales Rep. My wife and are were at the dealership (TOYOTALAND, Rt 22 Springfield, NJ) tonight and test drove 1 of their certified used trucks.

After the test drive, I had told the sales rep that I wasn't ready to make a decision since this was the first time I drove a truck and had no basis for an intelligent decision. He walks over to where the sales managers are and brings one back.

They pull a Kelley Blue Book on the car via kbb.com. Their car lists for 29k and change and the KBB values at 26K and change. The manager (Orick) tells me he'll match the KBB price of 26K and change. Sounds good right. Seems like they dropped the price from 29k to 26k.

Guess what, I get home get on Edmunds.com find a link to Autotrader.com and find the same exact truck from the same dealer listed at 26K and change.

Good thing I did not rush into this. Thanks Edmunds.com and Autotrader.com

    Hi,

I would like to buy a new 2007 Toyota Sienna XLE model with FP XLE Package #5(With DVD)

For XLE with FP package I am getting the quotation $31,500.00 + Tax and Other fees.

I would like to know what is the good price for the XLE model with FP package.

How much should be out-of-door cost and I line in Redwood City, CA.

Your valuable inputs will help me to decide.

    thanks.

Just bought a new Sienna CE tonight. Even though this is the base model, it has the same terrific 266 hp V6 as the other trim levels.

    Sienna CE
    8 Passenger
    Silver Shadow Pearl
CE Package #1: Cruise Control and Roof Rack
    Carpet Floor Mats

    MSRP: $25,601
Invoice (Edmunds): $23,028 (couldn't exactly match floor mat option -- floor mat on sticker (MSRP $181) matched against Edmunds floor mat/door sill protector (MSRP $214/Invoice $132)
    Paid: $22,388 - $1,500 incentive = $20,888 plus ttl and $55 document prep fee.

Bought in Alhambra, California (Wondries Toyota). We've only driven it the few miles back home but love the ride and power so far. One thing we've noticed...it's quite a bit bigger than our other cars (1996 200sx SE-R and 1999 Acura 2.3CL) but I'm sure we'll get used to it!

I live in Maryland, and just got a price on the LE pkg 3 8 passenger. The dealer did not have the silver pine color I wanted, so they will get it from another state. OTD price $27,000. Had I bought one instock I could have bargained under this price.
Will pick up car on Wed.

Sienna's sale volumn in June has decreased 8% from 13,381 in '05 to 12,780 in '06, don't know the rebate work or not.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Sounds like a deal to me. My price was about $450 higher 2 months ago (smaller rebate explains $250 of that amount).

    Buy it.
  • jwalker63jwalker63 Member Posts: 3
Toyota recently raises the cash rebate from $1250 to $1500 in NJ till 07/31.

A dealer in north NJ offered me such quote for Sienna w/ Package #3 on 07/11:

    26,040 + 1823.22 (tax) + 27.50 (Motor Vehicle Reg Fee) + 7.5 (tire tax) + 189 (doc fee) - 1500 (rebate) = 26,593.22 (out of the door)
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
That's about $200 less OTD than I paid. Go for it!
  • vla123vla123 Member Posts: 20
Hmm... I got the same quote from a dealer in NJ too.
I got another quote for 25600 before rebate. My reg fee was about 150 higher, though. I say go with whomever has it in stock.
  • underinvoiceunderinvoice Member Posts: 9
Don't count the rebate in you negotiated price. That is your money...not the dealers to play with. Negotiate first, then subtract the rebate from that negotiated price

I would like to know what should be a good before tax price for Sienna XLE with Package#5(FP) having Leather and DVD?

I am getting the quotation for $33,200 before tax and fees, which includes the $1500 rebate.

So the before tax and fee the price is $31,700.00.

    The invoice price from the Edmonds is: 26,810(invoice) + 4804 package#5 + 645(destination) = $32,259.00

I offered one dealer over phone as Edmond price $32,259.00 - $1500(toyota rebate) - $1000(below invoice price) = $29,759.00, but looks like the guy was not interested.

Please let me know how much I should offer to get it.

    Hi everybody,

I live in Oklahoma and currently interest in purchasing an XLE model with FC and Z1 options. I email my inquiries last night and got some responses back today. Some of them mention about the rebate/incentive, but I check on Edmunds.com and they don't show any incentive currently available to Sienna. Is anybody know whether the incentive is regional or are they, dealers, trying to pul a fast one on me. Any help suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
  • noob_to_toyotanoob_to_toyota Member Posts: 7
    Hi there,

Could you give me a reason why you offered with -$1000???
Is there a reason for $1000 and not more/less? Any advice is appreciated. I'm currently in the market for car myself. Thanks
  • samautobuysamautobuy Member Posts: 12
Based on the trend and other inputs from this mailing list, I thought I will start the bargain by offering $1000 less than the invoice price. I thought I will some room to go up if I start with $1000.

I have not gone to the dealer yet to meet face-to-face.

Please let me know your thoughts.
  • noob_to_toyotanoob_to_toyota Member Posts: 7
    Hi Samautobuy,

I'm too haven't met any dealer yet. Just like most people nowaday, I want to have an agreement before I actually come down to the site. By the way, based on Edmnuds.com there are no incentive from manufacture to customer anymore. yet, the dealers around my area still show it. Do you know how can I verify if the incentive still in place? Thanks

on the topic, I guess with $1000 below invoice, the dealer will have a hard time to get what they want. And that is why he not too interested, just my opinion of course. Good luck!!!

I just start this last night so I still have a long time before I can make a purchase, but the incentive, if it still avialable, is suppose to be end at this month.

This is the same model and package I originally order, Inv was $32,880, inc dest chrg, gas, dealer holdback and wholesale reserve less the $1,250 rebate, ttl $31,630. The dealer screwed up my color so a brand new skyblue was waiting, not my choice... we negotiated the same price for the XLE AWD option #7 (leathere dvd wireless system) FE, GL, CF however I have a major gas issue right now and I'm wondering if I should have taken and/or waited for another XLE FWD. Now I'm considering selling this and going Honda or back to another SUV. Only 2 weeks old

Does anyone have any feedback on these dealerships in MD? I live in NJ but may go down there for the no haggle price on options/combinations that are not available in NJ. I am looking for an XLE with Nav. They have them in the 35500 range.

Has anyone purchased out of state. Is the NJ registration going to be a pain?
  • siennamisiennami Member Posts: 116
Has anyone here purchased a CE recently? I tested one today. It has a price of 25,599, with a rebate of $1,500. I am upside down with my trade, so they wanted $1,300 from me. Is that price typical for a CE? I've been looking at TMV prices, and that doesn't seem right to me. I am considering visiting another dealership to see what they offer, but I don't know if it's worth it or not. Any opinions out there? BTW, they did offer me $15k on my trade, and this was at a dealership in South Carolina.

ayazomar@hotmail.com please email me. I cant get any dealers in the new york city area to offer me under 25,000? is that a good deal for sienna le package #3 w/rebate but before taxes/fees....
  • mlabqmlabq Member Posts: 24
I'm looking to buy a CE really soon. It sounds pretty high to me. I've been getting great info off of a site called www.motoralley.com. There are some places selling CE's for 19988 right now in Southern California. That includes the rebate deduction. The car is a CE with package 1 and mats.

I'm looking to buy a car in a couple weeks. Anyone know a good deal for an 8 passenger CE with package 1? I can buy in New Mexico or California. I got family in both places.
  • mlabqmlabq Member Posts: 24
A Sienna LE with package three is invoiced at $25346. After rebate, it is $23846. Have you been bidding the dealers against each other? There are two dealers in Boston called Boch Toyota and Ira Toyota. They might have better deals for you. Call them up. They seem to sell vehicles at below invoice based on their newspaper ads.
  • mlabqmlabq Member Posts: 24
Write an email to a bunch of dealers and have them send you proposals for a Sienna. After the proposals come in, call each one and let them know who is the lowest. If any beat it, keep calling with the new lowest bid until you go through the hole list. In your email, let them know that you know about dealer holdback and make sure you say you are going to buy by the end of the month. They've got to get sales targets by the end of the month, so everyone is eager to sell. Siennas are not selling as well as last year (-10%). Dealers have more in stock than they want and they need to clear them out for the 2008 models.

I cant get any dealer to go under @5,000 including the rebate. yeah i called a few dealers in NYC area...

  • mlabqmlabq Member Posts: 24
This is the way I look at it. Based on Edmunds.com, the MSRP for the Base + Package 3(forget about everything else for now) is $28475. The invoice for those two items is $25346. The TMV is $26101. I see TMV as the average price that people are paying. Half the buyers pay more and half pay less. We can use this information to create a statistical model of how much people actually pay. The model will most likely follow a bell curve and to form any bell curve, all you need are the average value and the standard deviation. I think that the MSRP is probably the highest price anyone would ever pay for a car, so I will say that 98% of all buyers pay MSRP or less. I think this is fair. There are probably 2% who pay more because they don't know any better. 98% correlated to two standard deviations, which means that the difference between the TMV and MSRP is two standard deviations. From this data, I can make a bell curve of Sienna sales prices.

From this data, I see that 17% of customers pay LESS than $25K for this car. 4% pay less than $24K for this car. That is BEFORE the rebate. These are really good buyers. I think you could find this car for $23500 after rebate. (not including destination charge.)
  • siennamisiennami Member Posts: 116
Hey, thanks for the headsup about motoralley. I took a look there, and boy is there a big gap between the pricing of say, even the dealerships in Greenville, SC, and Columbia. I wonder why is that? I'm trying to debate whether it's even worth it for me to look anywhere else since I am upside down in this Kia. I have an appointment with Florence Toyota Tuesday, so I have some deciding to do there. You know how they say hindsight is 20/20? Well, I'm feeling that in spades! I have to ask myself, "If you know you like Toyota, why are you in a Kia?" ;)
  • siennamisiennami Member Posts: 116
One more thing about yesterday, and then I'll leave it alone. The salesguy said "Oh, we've got to get you out of that!" referring to my Sedona. Well, it sure didn't feel that way when I looked at the price on that CE. I wanted to look at the CE because that's what would harm me the leastsince I'm so upside down, and I'd really like to get back into a Toyota(and I promise to stay in one this time!). I think this Kia needs to be unloaded before it gets further devalued, although if I have to stay in it a couple more months, that's the way it shall go....
  • mlabqmlabq Member Posts: 24
What is so bad about the Kia? I hear they are okay minivans. They are more reliable than Chryslers, Fords, and GMs. Yeah, they are not Siennas, but nothing is going to be on par with the Honda and Toyota. I think it is pretty rude for the dealer to rip on your car. I mean, you did choose it in the past, which means he is ripping on your decision making process. Sure, you may now see that you would have rather gotten into a Toyota, but it is still rude.

My mom lives in Southern California. She has been scoping deals for me. She found several dealerships (Power Toyota) selling Sienna CE with Package 1 for $19988 (including rebate and destination fee.) According to my bell curve analysis (see earlier post) this is about the best deal you could ever get on a CE with Package 1. Fewer than 1% of customers pay only that much.

I also heard from my mother in law that the rebate in Michigan for Siennas is $2000. That tempts me to call Toyota and see if I can get another $500. I mean, if they are giving to Michigan, why not me?
  • caravan2caravan2 Member Posts: 198
Yes, this is correct, MI,OH,TN,KY have $2,000 rebate for Sienna. While neighboring states have $1250 and $1500 rebates.
  • siennamisiennami Member Posts: 116
Actually, before that he said that the Sedona was a pretty good van, so I don't know what the deal was there. He also said that some people have come in wanting to compare what they can get on a Kia with what's on a Toyota and get it for the same price, and he tells them that they might as well get a Kia because he can't match it. And that is true. A base-line Kia(if you're looking at mine)has the same, if not more than a CE. For me, it's a matter of preference, and disgust if you will. My three year-old VW Passat got nearly the same amount of a trade-in as my eight month-old Sedona will. And, yep, it has been explained that Kia is a newer company whose reputation hasn't been built yet. As I've said in a previous post, hindsight is 20/20. I like coming to edmunds because I always learn something new, if only the discrepancy between dealer pricing, and naive little me, I thought things were pretty much the same until I began looking around. I have made many, many mistakes when purchasing vehicles before, and I'd like to discontinue that precedent if at all possible. So I'll continue to ask questions and look around to see what's out there. ;)
  • siennamisiennami Member Posts: 116
Yeah, not only is that rebate bigger, but they don't have the Southeastern Distributorship charge tacked on. That can be a chunk o'change! :P
