I'd be interested in joining you, but I'm looking for a 2005 Touring with NAV in Redrock Pearl. Since it's a different model than yours I don't know if we would be able to join together. I live in Scripps Ranch.

Interestingly Sienna seems to sell to "toyota faithful" as Ody seems to sell to "honda faithful" in the main. Sienna is also keeping the pressure on for Ody prices to drop!
The best deal I got was from Tony Robertson in Seattle and that was for over MSRP. However, the sales experience was great and quick. I love the car.
Closest dealer to me is at $1500 over and would not budge. Next closest (5 miles away) is at MSRP and won't budge.
We will be leasing, and I notice that each dealer is also playing with the money factor and residual amount. The Northern California dealer I mentioned earlier wants to give me a higher money factor and a lower residual than the local dealer, so the monthly payment gap is not as extreme.
I'm sorry -- I didn't know.

Now I am in a position to just sit down, twiddle my thumbs and hope that the deal works out exactly the way it was written on the fax they had sent me! He said they could send it on a trailer. He even offered to meet us half way from his dealership. We want to make sure that all goes well and preferred that we meet him in Cheshire and pay him the full amount for the exact van that we had ordered. The price on the purchase order is $35,558.
buy the car in NJ for MSRP, or in PA for MSRP-500 and drive it home.

Higher money factor plus lower residual = higher lease payment. So I don't understand your comment about the monthly payment gap. Am I missing something?
When I leased my '04 EX-L over Labor Day weekend, I got a 2 year lease with a money factor of 0.00099 and a residual of $19,126. I negotiated a selling price of $25,072, so the van is only costing me $219/mo (main reason why I went with an '04 vs. waiting for an '05). If my money factor was higher but my residual was also higher, then my payments might have been the same, but then the value of the car at the end of the lease would have been overinflated. Similarly, if the money factor was lower but the residual was lower, I would have also paid about the same, however then the car would be worth more at trade-in than it would cost me to purchase it, in which case I would buy the car and sell it to someone else and pocket the difference.

thousands over the sticker price. Our philosophy is to sell them for the
suggested retail and not add any dealer charges. We are Ohio's volume
leader and check our prices regularly against our competitors.
I'd be happy to discount an Odyssey a few hundred dollars just to show that
I'm not being stubborn."....I guess the good deals must be on the cars they put up for E-bay auction only. By the way according to their website inventory they have 19 '05 Odysseys gathering dust on their lot.

It is a Sales Company
Founded in 1969, Honda Canada now ranks as one of Canada's five largest Automobile Manufacturers, the largest retailer of Motorcycles and ATVs and one of the largest Power Equipment/Marine companies in Canada.
It is a Manufacturing Company
2002 marks Honda's 16th anniversary of manufacturing automobiles in Canada. Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) now has the capacity to produce 390,000 units annually at its 2 manufacturing plants located in Alliston, Ontario. HCM production serves not only the Canadian market, but is also exported to the United States, Japan and 10 other countries.
This is what I got from the Honda canada website.
Getting the VIN may help initially before you actually see the vehicle. Sorry I wasn't clear about what to do with the VIN - you can run a CARFAX with it or ask a friendly service manager to verify the car's history:

Why don't you share with the rest of us what dealer you're working with? After all, this is the whole reason this forum exists so that we can all hopefully negotiate as good a deal as you have.
What dealer and salesperson gave you this $750 below MSRP deal? I wanna see if I can get the same deal and if they have the color I'm looking for. I'm in OC, but don't mind the drive to San Diego if it's going to save me some $$$.
Just to help you out Residual values can not be manipulated by a dealership, except for miles. residuals are determined by these factors.
Term: Shorter the term the higher the residual is.
Model/Trim Level: The less options it has the higher the residual. For an example an 05 Odyssey LX will have a higher residual then a Touring R&N. But a Touring and an EX-L R&N will probably be the same.
Regional: Some states have different money factors and residuals, but they are probably the same all throughout California.
Specials: Sometimes the residual will be exagerated from American Honda finance and a dirt cheap money factor. The terms are usually limited to 24 or 36 months max. Don't believe the 05 odyssey enjoys any special finance programs.
Other Banks: Chase, Bank of America, etc also have leasing, but there residuals are usually not as attractive for the dealer or the consumer. The manufactuers credit branch will usually be what values they use.
Miles:***********Important*************
This is where I think your variation lies between the 2 dealerships. One dealer is giving you a residual value that is based on 12,000 miles which will be 2% higher then the other dealer who is telling you a lease with 15,000 miles. You need to ask that question to the dealer. The one with the lower money factor and a higher residual is probably quoting you the standard 15,000 mile plan from honda. get his lower money factor and tell him to drop the mile restriction to 12,000 miles per year and I bet you will have the same residual and now a lower money factor. Let me know how it goes.
Bummer-had my heart set on a 05 with a little discount, but now I guess I'll be among those waiting.
Also, I have been to the dealer and have driven the 2 04's and the 2 05's they have on the lot.

Yeah, they don't call Kingwood "The Liveable Forest" for nothing.....

Sienna.
In the southeast, most dealers have what is known as Toyoguard which is an utter waste of money and retails at around $699. I bought my 04 Sienna FWD LTD from the internet person at Cherokee County Toyota for a few hundred under invoice (invoice is around $32.2k for the 04)+ doc + tt. It was painless and a pleasure to deal with them. The great thing about them is that none of their vans have this Toyoguard which brings the price down.
If I was willing to drive about 3 /1/2 hours south of Atlanta to Albany, GA, the best deal all round was at Fairway Toyota via their internet dept. They only have 05 Siennas and will sell them very close to invoice (invoice is around $32.6k as per carsdirect). They were very responsive via e-mail and I would have bought from them if I went the 05 route. They do have some of their Siennas without Toyoguard which is great. Definitely the best deal in GA for an 05.
Ody
Metro Atlanta is not great and you get a few paltry dollars below MSRP. However there is a dealer in GA that smokes the other dealers. If one is prepared to travel south a little over 4 hours from Atlanta to Brunswick (the dealer there is Nalley Honda), they will sell the 05 Ody at around $1800-1900 below MSRP via their internet dept. The internet person was great and I would most definitely have bought my Ody from them if I landed up going for an Ody. He gave the facts as they were as objectively as any dealer I have ever dealt with. He also offered to drive the Ody to me in Atlanta. If you are buying in GA or north FL, definitely check them out. I would have flown there on Delta from Atlanta for a little over $100 and then driven the car back.
Financing
CostCo rocks. Thru their auto program they hooked me up with Capital One and I got a rate of 2.64%. There were 3 provisions: It needed to be a 3 year or less term, I needed to do direct debit out of my account and there was a one time $65 fee. I took this out about 2 1/2 months ago and they granted me one extension at the same rate. Not sure what the rate is now.
Auto Ins
Again, for me CostCo Ins program hooked me up with Amex Ins and I did my home and car thru them and the rate was great.
Bottom line after all my research is that if one does not care about the power tailgate, I think the best buy is definitely the Ody EX/L or EX if you do not like leather. However if the power tailgate is a must and you are not crazy about PAX, then, welcome to my world !!
I would have bargained harder but:
1. Want the van for a trip to Florida next week
2. Saleswoman goes to our church - which complicates things
I paid $900 for the extended warranty. Is that a good deal?
olive is a grey leaning towards tan.
(The grey is very drab grey, like battleship grey.
