1)u need a labtop with a USB port, two preferably.
2)at least one webcam (USB)
3) source of power, i used my 2nd battery, ran it to cigarette lighter, and plugged labtop charger into the lighter
4)Detection program, ie. motion sensor program. i'll upload one so you can get it easy
and that would be it, the rest is cake, setting it up, hiding it, etc...anymore questions feel free to ask, i'll put pics up later....
LOL... I love it! A gadget guy after my own heart! You could have it say-"Go ahead, make my day"! ;-)) HOW do you think of all these ideas? Keep it up.
I think there was someone in this group a long time ago who installed a "video" camera in the area where the trunk brake light is and wired it to a small monitor inside the car. I guess he wanted to see where he was! I keep getting these pop-up ads with Netscape for a small X-10 camera that sound similar to this. X-10 makes all those gadgets that work with the other 2 buttons on the HomeLink system. I've had those in my house for years. They work great.

For the crib, check this link:
http://www.smarthome.com/securmap.html
Maybe we can use some of their equip for the ride too.
tracy
Get the webcams or cameras from http://www.smarthome.com/securmap.html
and get a time lapse vcr with the motion detector connected to the VCR. So, when the motion detectors sense movement, the VCR records.
Then, if something happens to the car, you can take the tape to the cops...show the insurance co. for proof, etc. Plus, with the timelapse vcr, you can get maybe 30 or 60 days of activity on 1 tape.

Also, AVALANCHE ... don't forget you can place a camera in the keyholes now too ... to get the people on the outside ...
I stopped by a local Chrysler dealer. He is accepting orders for the 300M special. He showed me a computer printout. The only thing he knew for sure was that only three colors will be avialable.

The Chrysler/Dodge BuzzWatch site (http://www.car-truck.com/chryed/buzz/b053001.htm ) site has posted an update on it with a picture (side view). Don't know if this is what we'll see next year or another pic of the prototype the was shown previously but it's worth looking at to get an idea what to expect.I know posting a picture here can be tricky so I hope this works.
What do y'all think?? the extra body panels resemble the ones posted in the pic in msg# 3854
(made by Startech in germany i think )
On another note my wonderful M is coming up on 60,000 miles sometime this week and while rounding up the parts for the service I found a special at my local(Knoxville,TN) Auto Zone; 5 qts. of Mobil 1 Synthetic (10W-30 in my case) and a Mobil 1 oil filter (MI-204) for $27.99
locally the oil is $4.49/qt. (on special) and $9.97 for a filter. Works out to about a $5 saving excluding tax. special is until about 6/23.
check your local Zone. The oil filter is one of the better ones, with a synthetic fiber filter core instead of paper. Just FYI in case someones looking at an oil change coming up in the next few weeks.

1) Get a 70mm Throttle Plate from Holley and put in place of the 68mm. It's apparently sold as a replacement part for stangs.
2) Disassemble the thottle plate assembly and mil/bore the whole thing to 70mm and polish.
3) Mil down the ridges on the throttle plate shaft in the middle flat as possible to reduce air restriction. Probably remove at least half the material and replace with low profile screws.
4) Grind the throttle stop enough to allow for 90 deg opening of throttle plate.
The throttle plate is on order and will take a couple of days to get, then they start the mod. It will probably get it back at the end of the week for possible Saturday install/picture taking.
Cost about $70 for the mod plus $18 for the throttle plate.
They do a lot of the Richmond Area Race Carberators for both the Drag and Stock Car racers. They're work is first rate. I have one of their Holley 4150s on my GTO Dragracer and I love it. I'm quite excitied. A regular machine shop just doesn't care enough or have the right patience to make the mod right. I talked to two of them, both really did not want to touch it. One said the part was crap and he couldn't mil it without breaking it. What B.S.
For the intake I'm ordering a 3" tube intake from Stephen Lister (GR8WHT of DodgeIntrepid.net). I posted a link to his offerings the other night so look back a few posts if you missed it.
Also, ask them what kind of turnaround time they would have if someone (ahem..some guy that promised his wife that the latest mod was his last) sent them a TB for modification.
Thanks. Good stuff.

My 300M was one of the early '99s. Lease expires soon and I am mulling getting an '01 model w/incentives as good as they are now.

Click on the reviews link in the upper right corner. For what it's worth, I'm very happy with the Fuji Finepix 1400 that I use for all my pictures here. It's easy to use, downloads fast to the computer (USB), uses rechargeable batteries, and will take over 180 pictures on a 32MB smart media card at 640x480 "fine" resolution. I paid under $300 for it, plus extra for some accessories.

What did you plug or fill the holes with ?
Dose spot puddy work or do I need something more flexable ?
Kevin
better hang onto that plate and holder kpm--its just a matter of time before they catch up with ya--I got pulled over once for it but luckily I had it in the back seat and told him it fell off---he just gave me a warning but you might not be so lucky---could have been a nice fine and surcharge points on my insurance---
I'm not exactly sure how Scott cut through the plate frame, but I used a dremel and it worked real nice.
Projects planned and in the works (besides the ones you's keep comming up with) are.
Installing my hood scoop (69 boss) I have two emblems that I can use. One being a 300L or a 351 emblem that I have changed to read 3.5L (clever, you think)
Making a functional intake off the scoop.
Using rogors side marker lights as turn signals to replace may stock side/turn lights. Will replace the chromed areas on the headlamps.
Converting the stock side.turn lights to clear lens and used to light up the side of the vehicle (should come in handy on those twisty mountian roads).
Adding my Nav system.
Adding still brighters LEDs to my center shift indecator.
New tires potenza S03's they come in stock size.
Spoiler from spoiler4less will paint myself.
And reading the 5,482 posts here on this board in the next two months:)
I do not know how many I will be able to finish before the Monterey trip.
Keep up the great mods.
Rick
The new Zaino product will be an accelerative additive that can be mixed
with Z-2, Z-3 or Z-5....
Below are just a few of the improvements....
1. When mixed as per directions, you will not need to apply Z-1...
2. It will reduce the drying time, thus making the polish more user friendly in damp environments...
3. It will increase the gloss factor and extend the durability level..
4. It will have an instant cure time, so you can immediately apply multiple coats.. No more waiting between coats...
5. And more........
Sounds good to me! Increased gloss factor and multiple coats in one day! No release date yet, but soon I think.

You won't get the space smaller by putting on 20's, unless you actually increase the outside diameter of the tires (which you can do without buying new rims). Bigger tires means problems with the computer, etc (e.g. your speedometer will read 70 and you'll actually be going 85)
The right way to do it is to lower the car. The car pictured was lowered about 2", if I recall correctly. If you put 20's on and keep the same outside diameter of the tire, the gap will look even bigger!
Quit screwing around and get yourself some lowering springs.
Igor
Nevertheless, I think that 18" wheels with the right amout of lowering will fill the wells on the "M" very nice. Besides, 18" wheels are a little more drivable than 20". Also, any performance gained through mods may be lost due to the heavy rolling weight of 20" wheels. Just a thought.
