Hi All- I'm new to leasing and was wondering if this is a good deal? I received this quote from a local dealer (So Cal)
2014 INFINITI Q50 91314 4dr Sdn Premium includes the following below:

39 month lease, cash due includes 1st month payment/taxes and monthly payments below include taxes.
Cash Due- 10K 12K 15K Miles -
$0- $408 $420 $444
$1,750- $359 $371 $395
$2,750- $333 $345 $369
Well, I'd first like to point out that whoever built this quote doesn't understand how sales tax for a lease is calculated in CA - the monthly payment only is taxed, not the value of the car.
So, the Balance Due should be decreased by the $2865.05, making it $36,144,75.
The 39 month, 15K residual is 52% for the Q50 RWD Premium, and the MF is .00027. When I plug in the updated cap cost and your MSRP, I get a pre-tax payment of $369.19 (this is with $0 down). As the residuals get larger with fewer miles per year, the payment will only decrease if you choose 12K or 10K miles per year ($347.36/mo pre-tax for 12K, and $336.45/mo pre-tax for 10K).
Sales tax is then applied to this pre-tax payment each month.
I think your dealer is inflating the MF on you for extra profit. Explain to them politely but firmly that you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF.
I took your advise and they countered at the following:

Nope .. still too high. 36/15 payment with $0 down, pre-tax is $369.19; add 9% tax and that takes the payment to $402.42/mo.
I don't understand why they are adding the sales tax to the negotiated price - CA taxes the payment each month.
Have them explain how they get to the $38466.80 number.
So I have a deal sitting in front of me from a dealer here in Houston. Here are the details: 2014 Q50 Sport Deluxe Touring Navigation Technology Ambient Lighting Welcome Lighting Illuminated Kick PLates
MSRP $53,160
There are also 3 added dealer options: Tint Nitrogen Filled Tires Black Wrap on Roof (White Vehicle) So I am not sure what total MSRP is
NET Cap Cost is $47,800
Only thing due at signing is $848.30
39 Months, 10K Per Year
Monthly payment is at 558.97 including all taxes, etc.

What do you guys think?
39/10 residual is 55% for Q50 Sport RWD. MF is .00027. With your MSRP and net cap cost, I get a pre-tax payment of $496.75/mo for 39 months.
Remember that in Texas the entire cap cost is subject to sales tax, which really jacks up the monthly payment. $559/mo seems to be a fair price considering that.

I don't think dealer installed options can be residualized. I think all three are probably overpriced - see how much you can negotiate off the dealer prices.
My numbers work out exactly as yours ... to the penny.
So, the only way to reduce the payment is to negotiate a lower selling price.

Hey Everyone, I need some assistance. Ive never Leased a car this will be my first one... Please advise if this is a good deal or if i can get better...
2014 Q50S AWD, Deluxe touring and Navi package.
MSRP: 50,405.00 Residual Value: 27,722.75 Initial Cap cost: 44,500 Bank Acq: 795.00 Adj cap cost: 45295 License: 400 Term: 39 Months MF: .00012
Down/Drive off fee: aprox 1000. My Payment would be 459 + tax
They said if i put 1950 down instead of just the 1000 , my payment would be 400+ tax.
CA does do MSDs by the way i asked they said with the current rate its not worth it since it would barely touch it since its only costing 11/month in finance fees.
FYI, Dealer used the 3,000 Dealer Cash towards my fees/down.

With .00012 MF and 55% residual (39mo, 10K/yr, right?), I get a payment of $497/mo.+tax, so the $3000 dealer cash must be reducing the CAP cost, somewhat..
$1950 more upfront would reduce the payment by a like amount.. but, that isn't really saving you anything, because as they noted, the finance charges are already very, very low.

Correct its for a 39mo/10k. Im unsure if i want to buy it or not so i think i might do a 12k-15k lease.. i generally drive around 12k maybe a little more a year... Think this is the best deal i can get from them right now or think i can squeeze more out of them? Selling price is 46,405

Thoughts?
The $1500 down reduces your payment by about $38/mo, so $437/mo with tax for a car that stickers at $47K is a good deal.
Term 39 months 12k miles Downpayment: 950 includes first month monthly payment: 450.46
Any Thoughts??
Thanks
When I plug in your numbers, I get a pre-tax payment of $377.34. When I add in the tax and fees, the payment jumps to $455.82. So, your deal looks to be right in line.
I'm new to the leasing game and I'm wondering if the current national lease deal for the 2014 Q50 hybrid is a good deal or not? $379 per month for 39 months, $3399 down, 10k miles per year, for a 2014 Q50 hybrid premium with navigation system.

The national lease deals are just "OK" - you can and should be able to do better on your own.
We don't recommend you putting money down on a lease to reduce the payment - if the car is stolen or totaled, you are out the money.
In addition, the negotiated price on the national deal is usually not too much off sticker. Use the pricing tools at the top of the page to get a better idea of what you should be targeting as your price.
Negotiate the price just like you would for a purchase, using all available incentives. Then, ensure that the MF isn't being marked up by the dealer. That's how you get the best lease deal.

I recently leased the q50 using the information on this forum. I believe i got a good deal so thought I should share my experience.
I got q50 awd premium with navigation and leather package and cargo package and mats for 418 per month for 39 months 12k a year. I paid the first month payment only. All fees tags and taxes were rolled in. The vehicle was registered in VA. The msrp was 45800 and sales price or capitalized cost was around 37k. Residual is around 24 or 24.5k. Hope this information helps someone scoring a deal. Car is fantastic and loving it.

Would need to see selling price and CAP cost to make an educated guess. I think the residual is probably 54% on the deal... just looks a little higher as a purchase option fee has been added on to it.
I'm looking for numbers for Q50s AWD 36 months 15 miles, this would be my second lease, I'm leasing a 13 g37x and the lease is up in February, but I'm gonna be over the mileage by 3000 miles, should I wait till the lease ends or go now for a new Q50

55% and .00023.
If you trade out early, the extra miles shouldn't hurt you as much. Get the payoff from IFS and head over to the "Real World Trade in Values" to get an honest assessment of your trade value. This will let you know how much equity you do or don't have.
I don't understand my payoff is $33,256.80, and I just appraised my infiniti for $24,560, how is this possible, I think I got a high residual?
Yes - Infiniti often inflates their residuals to make the lease payments attractive. Makes it tough to trade out early. You may want to wait ubtil the lease is over, walk away, then start over.

I don't understand why they are adding the sales tax to the negotiated price - CA taxes the payment each month.
Have them explain how they get to the $38466.80 number.

Advance Payments - $558.89
Total Drive Off - $814.89
The one thing not listed is what the cost is for the 3 added dealer options of Tint, Nitrogen Filled Tires, and Black Wrap on roof which is added on top of the MSRP of $53,160. I am assuming you can't residualize options like that?

Will someone please tell me if this is a good deal.
Q50a 2014
I was quoted, 39 month 15k miles a year.
3000 down, i unfortunately do not know what its being applied too.
And my monthly would be $369 a month. They did throw in the dent and ding protection which is included in that price.
I believe the msrp is 40,855
Is there any way i can get NAV too for arounfd389 a month?

We would need to know the negotiated selling price and any out of pocket costs at lease inception to fully evaluate the deal.
Which trim level is this? Base, premium or sport?
Ok, I got more details for you.
Residual they say they are using is 53% its an AWD premium trim Q50a
Government fees: 33.50
Proc/Doc Fees: 250
Capitalized Taxes: 934.77
Acquisition Fee: 700
Gross Cap Cost: 38,343.86
Tradepayoff: -289.00
NEt Cap Cost: 36,170.13
Hope the above information helps!
My numbers work out exactly as yours ... to the penny.
So, the only way to reduce the payment is to negotiate a lower selling price.

Hi There,
I have been offered a following deal for Q50 AWD Premium with Navigation (in VA). I would like your thoughts:
HERE ARE THE TRUE NUMBERS YOU REQUESTED FROM ME THE MSRP OF THE CAR IS $45300.00 WITH NAV AND AWD , PREM PACKAGE.
THE SALE PRICE $ 39166.00
RESIDUAL OF 52% = 23,566.40
THE MONEY FACTOR USED FOR THE Q50 IS .00027
THE PAYMENT WITH NO MONEY DOWN . NO TAX'S NO FEES ONLY THE FIRST PAYMENT WILL BE DUE AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY ( 443.98)
SO THE PAYMENT IS 39 MONTHS X $ 443.98 000000000 MONEY DOWN....
I would appreciate your help and time.
That looks pretty good... The base MF is .00012, though. Maybe, the MF is increased to account for no security deposit?
With those numbers, I calculate $417/mo, but that doesn't include the acquisition fee or tax, so looks pretty close.

2014 Q50S AWD, Deluxe touring and Navi package.
MSRP: 50,405.00
Residual Value: 27,722.75
Initial Cap cost: 44,500
Bank Acq: 795.00
Adj cap cost: 45295
License: 400
Term: 39 Months
MF: .00012

I'm new to the leasing game and I'm wondering if the current national lease deal for the 2014 Q50 hybrid is a good deal or not? $379 per month for 39 months, $3399 down, 10k miles per year, for a 2014 Q50 hybrid premium with navigation system.
Thanks

That's a great deal! Good job! Enjoy your new car.

Are there any 24m leases for Q50 like there are for Q60?

Any others???
Is it possible to get to 37k (or lower) OTD w/ no money down? If not, what numbers can get me to 350/m payment?
24/15 numbers are 58% and .00041
36&39/15 numbers are 54% and .00041

How do lease brokers get to this deal? What numbers are they using? Because 54% and .00041 doesn't work out to those numbers.
Would need to see selling price and CAP cost to make an educated guess. I think the residual is probably 54% on the deal... just looks a little higher as a purchase option fee has been added on to it.

If you trade out early, the extra miles shouldn't hurt you as much. Get the payoff from IFS and head over to the "Real World Trade in Values" to get an honest assessment of your trade value. This will let you know how much equity you do or don't have.
