"Look at it this way. Drop a 12" block from 10'. Which bed would sustain damage? I rest my case."

hmmm...well if it's anything like my old sonoma, 10 years from now, the bed with the drop-in just may be held together by nothing more than the drop-in itself.

If it is showing up on your screen, Ryan, you're the only one on the internet that can see it...must be that giant 12" you got...hehe...

Course I should talk...we seen what a mess I can make of html.

For me though, rubber mat in the bed with a rubber mat on the t/g and an aluminum protector on the head end. Bed gets messed up.... then spray liner.

Im sure you guys have covered this before, but can someone tell me how to reset the "change engine oil" light on my 99 silverado? thanks.
  • Options
    wight1wight1 Member Posts: 218
turn the ignition key to "on". Mash the accelerator pedal to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds. If the light flashes a few times and then goes out, it is reset. If it stays lit, turn the key off, back to on and repeat.

That's a good answer. I would have said to read the owners manual.

    Ryan,
I'm talking about edmunds losing posts yesterday. Hello?

Guess I could have referred to the OM as well.

Back on that oil question I had for you - where did you buy your Lubriplate oil - thru their website or did you find a retailer somewhere?
  • Options
    obyoneobyone Member Posts: 7,841
Actually, I buy other chemicals for our company's use. Fortunate for me, that company that I buy from is also a distributor for Lubriplate. So I end up paying about $32.00 a case wholesale.

    obyoneobyone Member Posts: 7,841
that I just changed my rear end oil out and used the Lubriplate there also. Luckily, I got the replacement gear oil for free.

Don't worry if it doesn't flash to indicate it reset. Many trucks don't give any confirmation, but it does reset correctly anyway.

where exactly is it, and does it tell you to use lubriplate. gotta get me one i guess.

I had my 2000 rear slider replaced 7 months ago because the frame was cracked. Now it's cracked again. Talked to the dealer today, they said they quit replacing with the factory unit and now install an aftermarket brand. GM knows about this and pays for the aftermarket unit. He couldn't tell me what brand it is. I'll know in a few weeks.

I just got my target production week from my dealer of 4-23-01 for my truck. Is there a GM phone number (or web site) I can use to check the order status?

    Thanks,

err.....i think the muffler bearings are self lubricating Tim. besides they should be covered by the emissions warranty, which is more than 36k right?

I just cleaned and re-packed my muffler bearings at 20k miles. I found two roller bearings. If you've installed a dual exhaust you may have more. The Kineuter valve shouldn't need to be replaced unless you use bad gas. Teeheehee!

BTW What happened to the titles?

Oh GREAT look who has made a return how nice.

    TIM:

Yep sounds like it. Was the impala black? They let Tim allen drive it to an awards show and he didnt want to return it. It was developed by Jon moss and the chevy special vehicles group or whatever it is called.

    titus2 My 2001 vette is 9 months, 4600 miles,
NEVER been back to garage for anything, still
getting 31mpg on highway. Not a rattle, or
loose part yet. Such fun to pass cars and be
at 130mph in a blink. I don't plan on testing
    the 170mph top end.

    No complaints bout the 2000
Silverado 17,000 no trips back to dealer
except for the dealer brake recall. So far
    chevys doing OK.

I bought my wife an '88 vette(yes in 88), and we put 20k mi. on it in 1 1/2 years, never so much as put a screwdriver to it. where do people come up with this "fall apart" folklore?
