Opinions?
In a quandary here. I can choose between a Liberty Sport with 27B and NO ABS for $225 UNDER the Edmunds invoice at a local dealer, or a Liberty Sport with 27B and ABS for $400 OVER invoice. Seems the dealer's trying to get rid of the non-ABS model, because he won't budge on the ABS-equipped model. Is saving @$600 worth it to get the non-ABS model at a steal, or am I short-changing myself in the safety dept? I live in northern NJ, where we get occasional blizzards and black ice in the winter. Thanks for your input.
Bob
I have one dealer telling me they can be, and another telling me that certificate programs are not compatible with each other. I don't know if this is true or not, and I can't find anything online about it.
Thanks,
Eric

BFG 235/85QR16 Mud Terrain T/A KM or Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 235/85PR16's? Also, would either of them fit, stock? And, how big of a difference in size are these from the stock 235/70R16's?
Matt
I am still waiting for my Liberty LE (week #9) but was told it should be built the beginning of this week and should have it before the end of the month. We will see about that. From the time you palced your order, how long did you have to wait?

ps: now I have to get my oil changed, not sure if I'm going synthetic or regular. Will keep posted.
Matt
P.S. Any idea on those tires I mentioned?
However, there have been some studies that have shown that people are significantly more likely to die in an ABS-equipped car than in a non ABS-equipped one. I can't remember where I reviewed the study: it was on an insurance organization's web site, I think.
It was a bewildering read. In addition, most insurance companies no longer discount for ABS...
All that said, I have ABS.
I'd only make the change if you plan to spend a lot of time off road. I think if you spend most of your time on road, you'll regret making the change. I think your handling will suffer, perhaps quite a bit...
It will also throw off your gearing and speedometer too. So, acceleration could also suffer, and you won't get an accurate speed reading.
Bob
Now they were one of the first Company's to drop the discounts. Also say that more deaths in ABS equiped vehicles versus non ABS vehicles.
And yes....I will be posting this in the problems area too, cause I know someone will be asking :-)
Any ideas on how to get this process moving?
It seems that other people are having the same questions, does anyone know of a site where the limitations on these offers can be found?
Thanks,
Eric
The only “problem” I can see so for is that the Overdrive Off button only seems to work when the lights are turned off. Do the rest of you Liberty owners have the same behavior?
I shouldn’t be turning the Overdrive at night all that much, but if I am pulling a trailer, I may want to turn off the overdrive for hills. It doesn’t make sense to me that the overdrive will only work with the lights off.
Any ideas?

What's going with your Liberty? You should call the dealer and tell them that you will gladly go and get the truck for them or at least go for the ride.
I received my degree in May of 2000... would I be eligable for this?

Thank you for your email to the DaimlerChrysler Motors Corporation regarding the $500 Military Incentive.
The information that we have indicates that the $500 Military Incentive can be used in conjunction with other incentives. It does not, however, specify what other incentives it works with and suggests that you speak with your dealer for more details.
You may wish to contact the Rebate Program Headquarters for more information regarding the compatibility of various incentives. They can be
contacted at 1-800-227-0757, Monday through Friday, 9AM-5PM, EST.
Hope this helps!!!
200 miles later - Loving my Liberty and enjoying every mile!
Actually (I just checked) they have a white one with the G package and off road and towing packages too.
bgolfv-Congratulations!
Hopefully I too will be a proud parent of my Stone White Liberty LE, in about two weeks. I was told Tuesday the 20th was the "estimated" ship date. I am crossing my fingers.
Again.... enjoy!!!
I think that there ought to be a new catagory, keep SUV for the light off-road duty cars and establish OR (for true off-road) for the trucks that are designed to do more than groceries and commutes. This new catagory would include Jeeps (naturally), Xterras, Land Rovers, etc. Maybe the ability to make the Rubicon (stock)could serve as a means of seperating the vehicles into this catagory. Why penalize a vehicle for attributes that do not serve its original design?
Gypsy, its worth the wait, but I hope its quick for you so you can start in on the fun.

Call and ask your dealer first.

So far, so good. I love it.
Chrysler said that the rollover was due to "a variation in the friction of the pavement and the aggressive driving."
The full story can be found at www.autonews.com.
Hmm, well, sounds like we have a bit of controversy now...Didn't Ford and Mitsubishi say the same things when the Exploder and Monntero began to roll over?

Scroll down the page a bit to see the Liberty. This makes me "almost" reconsider the Liberty I ordered.
