We can laugh all we want, but I seriously doubt no one here hasn't been where Dale is now! (Figuratively, of course)

"All men are created equal ...
But some are more equal than others."

    Nyah nyah.

(For the record, however, I have enjoyed the pleasure of being honored with a 21-blue-light salute-and-summons outside my jurisdiction twice in my life.)

I never seem to learn - well, until the last one at which time folks started to talk about taking the ol' license away. Now I behave - most of the time anyway.

    the 6
  • protege_fanprotege_fan Member Posts: 2,405
Sorry I haven't kept up, but what configuration of 6 do you have? I've been seriously thinking about trading my Pro in and getting the 4-cylinder 5-speed manual iteration of the 6. Not that there's anything wrong with my Pro...in fact after driving the 6 and the Saab 9-3 (well, sitting in the Saab as my friend drove) I was thinking how much I liked driving my Pro.

That said, I really liked the 160 horses the 6 put out. Another thing about the 6 was that when I sat in it, it felt...familiar. I liked that.
  • maltbmaltb Member Posts: 3,572
It really does feel like a pro, but with a better ride and less NVH.
  • protege_fanprotege_fan Member Posts: 2,405
I'd never tried to configure a 6 before and never understood all the people complaining about packages. Now I do. I tried configuring a Mazda6 GT-I4 and in order to get the moonroof ($1000 CDN), you have to order the GFX package ($765 CDN), AND then you have to order the Premium Audio system ($500 CDN). What the heck is this? I can't believe that you would have to order all that. Based on this, the 6 is definitely out for me.

    I went for:

    Athlon XP 2100+ $169
    ASUS A7N8X Deluxe $215
    512 MB RAM at 266 $109
    Maxtor (I think) 40 GB HD @5400RPM $107
    Cost: $600+15%tax $90=$690

These were the lowest prices in TO.

The store is installing it all and will pick it up tomorow. I just wanna see if it improves stability during gameplay.

Next upgrade is scheduled in January 2005.

  • protege_fanprotege_fan Member Posts: 2,405
No idea...I'm here even though SOME people wussed out early at chat last night.
  • chicagoprochicagopro Member Posts: 1,009
Jeez...show up EVERY danged week at chat, sit there for an hour or more just in case somebody, ANYbody happens by, and this is the thanks I get??

Raymond: I tried to keep it under 50 this morning.
  • meinradmeinrad Member Posts: 820
Well, I think they have some kind of time dimension up there in Canada that makes you think we left early.
  • meinradmeinrad Member Posts: 820
Well, I get home really tired, get kicked out, and try for ever to get back in just to have you say you have leave. And this is the thanks I get?
  • meinradmeinrad Member Posts: 820
So, we get a little melting Friday and Saturday. Then everything freezes Sunday and now Monday morning it's snowing again!

I left my house at 7:30 and it was just starting. In the past hour it's dumped 1" already!

Only supposed to be 4" by the time it's done, but at an 1" an hour it gets the roads bad pretty quick.

Had them diagnose my car to verify failure of the MAS. It was broke. They replaced it under the extended warranty. Back to zoom zooming. :)

I'm getting tired of this snow-shoveling bit. >:(

    O Canada!
    Our vast, expensive land
    Why can’t we buy
Those cars so big and grand?
    With little funds,
    We have to shop
    For little cars, you see…
    No Carrera GT’s or luxuries,
    But inoculations are for free!
    God, keep our land
    Expensive and the best,
O Canada, at least we’re not the U.S.,
O Canada, at least we’re not the U.S.!

It's so humorous, yet so true...Although if you saw all the SUV's up here, you'd change that part in your song.

Lewis Booth, President and CEO, Mazda Motor Corporation is making the following personnel announcement, which has been approved by the Mazda Board of Directors:

Effective March 1, 2003, Charles Hughes, President and CEO, Mazda North American Operations will leave Mazda. We thank Charlie for his contribution to Mazda North American Operations during his two and a half years with Mazda.

    poor 6 sales?
  • chicagoprochicagopro Member Posts: 1,009
You can't drop something like that without any explanation...

So I'm all registered at the Mazdarevitup site...they're going to be in Chicago in June.

Figure with all my speeding tickets, I'm on the fast track to a free 6!

LoL, but I don't think they will paint it Hello Kitty just for you.

Mr. Rogers was so lame, he was my hero.
  • mdaffronmdaffron Member Posts: 4,421
I don't know how old you are, but my early years would not have been complete without this gentle man. He taught me how to handle grief and feel good about myself. I truly believe his wisdom (he was a minister by trade) helped me through my mother's spine cancer that killed her over 6 years and had her dead by the time I was 19.

Sorry fella -- Mr. Rogers' death was like losing a member of my family. I don't appreciate your making fun of a man who devoted his life to doing something good for millions of children.

    And on another note,

    Happy Birthday (tomorrow), Meade!

(and same to you, duh_ster, if you're around...)

    :)

He was a nice man. Dedicated to his life's pursuit too.
  • mazdafunmazdafun Member Posts: 2,329
He was just in the last issue of Zoom Zoom magazine (which we're getting 3 copies of, since they misspelled my name once, and my wife just got a P5).
  • mazdafunmazdafun Member Posts: 2,329
Glad to see you signed up too Dale!

I can hardly wait to take a 6 through an autocross, with some instruction, of course. I wonder if they'll let me try my Pro also?

I loved Mr. Rogers...watched him all the time when I was younger as well as in more recent years with my kids. Despite all that, his show was lame and routines were unusual...probably why so many people liked him.
  • mazdafunmazdafun Member Posts: 2,329
    Grrrr. >:(
  • mazdafunmazdafun Member Posts: 2,329
My wife gets all sorts of treats in the mail from Mazda for her 2003 P5. I get zilch.

She just got a "quick-tips" mini-manual and a blue keychain LED light in the mail. Lucky girl. :)

Well, I did get a thank-you card from my dealer's service department for my last visit (failing MAS, covered under Mazda's extended warranty on that part). Definitely an improvement.

    What happened??
  • chicagoprochicagopro Member Posts: 1,009
Did you have a good birthday?

Did you save some cake for us?
  • mazdafunmazdafun Member Posts: 2,329
    :)

Thanks Dale. Can't let meadeball off the hook. :)
  • mazdafunmazdafun Member Posts: 2,329
Just in front of the fuel filler door. Nice and visible.

I was literally and figuratively seeing red once I noticed it. I should've parked WAAAY out in the lot. Sheesh.

At least my car didn't get swiped like my neighbor's daughter's car did (new Mitsubishi Eclipse). Looks like some truck or SUV turned too closely to her car in the parking lot and left a large swipe mark on it. Didn't stick around or leave a note, of course.

Some people just don't respect other people's property. Guess they were raised that way.

Thanks for your sympathy. Makes it better (sniff, sniff). ;)
