Subaru.com, Contact Us. When you write, please make sure you include your VIN and the details. In fact, please add a note that I'd like to see the message. The information comes into our department directly. We try to respond within 24 to 48 hours.

    Thanks!

    Patti,

I did that. There was no e-mail address, just a web form that's limited to 1500 characters.

If there is no e-mail address, what is the snail mail address?

    Regards,

    Dan.

    Dan-
I would share but the addy isn't mine to give out.

Use the web form to get in touch with the Customer Service Dept.
You'll have their general or individual e-mail addy when they acknowledge/response, for later continued correspondence.

    Don't forget the VIN

I have an extra coupon I received after the ride&drive event. I'd be happy to share especially since this is where I found my free maintenance coupon. This one is good until Nov 1. My e-mail is in my profile. Let me know your address and I'll mail it out to you.

    Dave,

    Great suggestion. I'll do that.

    Thanks and regards,

    Dan.

Call them up, it's quicker, 800-SUBARU3.

What's the complaint about? Share with us, maybe someone here can help out.

it might have something to do with his scratched hood. maybe the dealer wasn't helpful?

    our address is:

    Subaru of America, Inc.
    Customer Dealer Services
    P. O. Box 6000
    Cherry Hill, NJ 08034

Another alternative is like Juice suggested. You can call us at 1-800-SUBARU3 or like Dave suggested, a second e-mail with the balance of the message if there isn't enough room. Either way, please make sure you note that I'd like to review the situation. We'll do our best for you.

Patti - Please keep an eye out for my paperwork. It'll probably next week since they have to send the paperwork to me to be signed.

Any news on the WRX issue?

Anyone else have an unused coupon they are willing to part with?

the coupon fiasco brought you out of four years of lurking, eh?

I can barely find time to read all of the posts, let alone post.

The new Legacy and Outback have me interested enough to consider trading in my WRX wagon. The maintenance might help.

it's good to 'see' ya no matter what. :) I didn't recognize your name, so I clicked on you and saw your last post before that one was 10/00. o0

Patti, I ordered my legacy GT limited 7 weeks ago and was wondering if there is a way for the dealer to know if its been shipped and its location. I know when i ordered my Suburban 4 yrs ago Chevy could tell me where it was and when it would arrive. Does Suabru have the same ability. Thanks...eagerly waiting for my car
  • kenskens Member Posts: 5,869
Your dealer should be getting a "pipeline" report showing a list of vehicles and their approximate delivery dates. Since 6-8 weeks is typical, your dealer probably has your VIN already. Have you tried asking the dealer to look it up?

Is the Tribeca going to be on display at the next big International Auto Show? Is that Paris in the Fall?
  • rshollandrsholland Member Posts: 19,788
It will be Subaru's featured model at the next Detroit show this January.

"and the Tribeca will ultimately replace the current Legacy Outback."

    Really? When?

    Ken
  • kenskens Member Posts: 5,869
"the Subaru version is to be called Tribeca (an outlying borough of New York City)"

    It's a neighborhood, not a borough!

I think Subaru is taking a gamble on the name, since the odds are that most people are going to think it's named after the horse races. Any bets?

yeah and it's not outling at all. It's about as central as you can get!

I agree, looking at the spy pics, it will replace the OB, 7 kids maybe, but not any kind of adults whatsovever.!

Looks pretty puny for a 7 passenger vehicle. Maybe it's just the angles, but looks smaller than the Pacifica.
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
Good I thought it was just me that thought it was smaller than it needs to be.

    Subaru Trifecta, hee hee.

Looks about MDX sized, but it's rumored to be very slightly bigger. They'd better package it efficiently.

Well.... its finally happened to me :(

This morning I was at a traffic light and felt some rough idling and while checking the tach I saw my temp gauge sitting on the "H".

I pulled over immediately, opened the hood and let it idle for a few minutes to have a quick look around. The fans were on, resevoir was to the top of the container and there was some coolant under the car which was probably from the overflow. Back in the car, I blasted the heat for a little while and then shut her down.

Got a flatbed truck to take me to my dealer/service center and after a few hours I got the call that both head gaskets are leaking/blown and the estimate is $1900. They did a pressure test to determine this.

I've seen much info passed along on these boards about Subaru assistance in these matters, mostly with the conditioner (which this TSB didn't apply to my vehicle model/year).

    Patti,
Is there any assistance/advise for my situation?

I'm glad that I have my Subaru Bucks to help me out with the expense.

    Ouch, sorry to hear that.

So that's 6 years and almost 89k miles, if it were included in that service campaign you would fall under the 8/100 warranty.

I'd call and plead for mercy, 800-SUBARU3. Basically be as pleasant as possible and mention that owners of later model year cars with the exact same problem would be covered. Also mention that you are willing to use the conditioner in it after it gets fixed.

Maybe they will eventually expand the service campaign.

sorry to hear, Alan. I honestly believe head gasket failure on the 96-99 2.5 DOHC is more a matter of when and not if. :(

The Rep at the 800 number wasn't able to help me out since my Roo is not included in the conditioner program. I asked her to put a note on my report for Patti to check it out.

I think it is a good idea to get these issues on file anyway so that Subaru has a better handle on how many vehicles are experiencing this. Maybe after collecting enough of these something may come of it.

Didn't Edmunds have a survey of some type regarding who experienced HG problems, and/or piston slap?

BTW, my courtesy car is a 92 Legacy Wagon with 122,000 miles on it. It is surprisingly peppy!

I took a quick walk through the sales area and yes I did drool a bit ;)

I don't recall an Edmunds survey, no.

See if SoA will help you with a trade-in. They offered us the full blue book value on any trade, see if they'll take your OB as-is and help get you into a 2005.

They are motivated so it's worth asking.

hmmm, I'm not real thrilled with the leather seats - wonder how much the '97 OB Ltd w/ 47k is worth now.

my uncle's '97 OB lost the HG, warped the head and had it re-done. It's been good since.

There was one on nabisco. I have no idea why pre-2000's aren't included in that conditioner program.

Our dealer would give us over blue book for my wife's '99 because it's in such excellent shape.

Steve: I'll take a guesstimate. Low miles like that, probably $9-10 grand or so. In good shape.

Nice try Juice and I still have that $25 test drive coupon sitting on my desk - but I'm really not ready for a new car around here until '09 since I'm on the cash buyer plan.

It is tough reading Town Hall every day and not jumping off my high fence :-)

I'm on the cash plan also. Unfortunately right now there is no plan (or cash). We opted for the beach condo instead.

we can check that for you! Just call us at Subaru3 and we'll call the dealer for the order number and check the status. But, your dealer should have the same information, so...

    Thanks!

    Patti,
You probably don't get this request too often ;-) but my Subaru dealer in Redwood City, CA is AMAZING. I love the sales department, they are so nice to me and didn't make me haggle for my great price. The service department is the only auto repair service center I have not fired in the last 10 years. All their work is great, they honor the warranty and are totally professional. I always answer the surveys when I get them and have started writing a nice letter to SOA and CC'ing the dealership after a satisfying visit. Is there anything else you think I could do to give them some more kudos over there?
    Elissa
  • subaru_teamsubaru_team Member Posts: 1,676
attention. I'll make sure all the "right" folks see it and see if we can get them the kudos they appear to deserve. Thanks for going to the trouble of writing and for sharing it here. It's true - we don't hear that as often as we'd like.

    Elissa,

Carlsen Subaru is a top-notch dealership. I'm glad to have them and Santa Cruz Subaru in the area.

I know... I used to HATE car dealerships and refused to go to them for any type of maint or repair work... and I've fired every mechanic I've had in the last 10 years... until my first visit to Carlsen Subaru. Now I look for things I can take their way. They told me they'd rather not work on my Hondas though :-( I even tried mild begging. Oh well. I've never been to Santa Cruz Subaru but they look good on paper.
