First off, here's a big THANK YOU!!!
I am in the market for a LX or EX 4cyl CVT and because of this site the negotiation is going stellar. I am in the NYC area and first went to Staten Island Honda, after asking the guy "how much below invoice do you want to go?" the dealer came back with, invoice less 700$ for a total of LX 22728$ and EX 25583$ out the door. I then wanted to see what the Costco program had to offer... only gave invoice price.
I got a call from someone at DCH Paramus Honda, told her my prices (after she tried to give me the "Costco Deal") and she came back with LX 22600$ and EX 25400$ out the door.
I am waiting to go to 2 other dealerships... Garden State Honda and Planet Honda and then decide from there....
Thank you again for all your help.... because if it wasn't for this site, I'll be stuck with invoice
jschwartz,
Try New Rochelle honda, and Auto-Sport in Bridgewater, NJ..... ask for George Int. mgr. Stay away from planet honda.... they play to many games and lie lie lie..
One note : If you buy at Auto- sport, in N.J. there doc fee is 299. NY doc's are only 75. The 224 dollar difference must reflect in your buying sale price.

Thanks. Will see if can get to Bridgewater.
You guys think there is more wiggle room on these prices?
Yes and here is why.... check out this article below
Check out these sale numbers on midsize cars and trucks from 2013/ 2014,
Please find the March Auto Sales which shows honda is still low compared to last year ;
http://www.bloomberg.com/infographics/2014-04-01/march-us-auto-sales.html
Honda has lowered its pricing. We are seeing that across the country.. People have 3 possible 4 good choices in the midsize class and a couple of good choice SUV's. Saving a thousand or more dollars will affect alot of peoples choice in vehicles.

ankurg,
What is the agreed vehicle selling price ? Does this price include the dest/ charge of 790? your lease numbers look good.
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
the agreed selling price is 24095 and yes it does include the destination charge. this is EX-L without navigation
looks like you got a great deal in the works. Invoice price w dest charge is $26,650.
what is your question again
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
Sorry missed what you posted.. Your at over 2550 below invoice on this model. This is by far the best price anyone has recieved in NJ. Your doc fee's knock you down to 2186 below invoice price.. Please post the selling dealer in NJ when you are done with your deal in this forum so other could try for a similar deal.
If 10k miles per year is in your driving range you have monster deal.. Your upfront fee's with the exception of 1st month's payment if you could afford to roll them into the lease do it.. If this vehicle is stolen or totaled in a accident that upfront money will not be recouped. Good luck

Just purchased a 2014 Honda Accord EX in So Cal.
Was aiming at getting 25K OTD but had to settle for $25,300 OTD.
Reg EX Invoice - $24,287
Offer - $23,300 ($987.00 below invoice)
Flex cash avail $500 - so in my mind i got $1487.00 off invoice
TTL - $2,500
= $25,300 OTD.
super easy transaction. Finance dept didnt give me a hard time and got me in and out. .09% 36 months. good deal. Oh and had to tell them i didnt want the 'plus' package with those meaningless extras. blog was helpful. Just wanted to share my experience. thanks!
Brian, my search for accord is narrowing down now., decided to go for Sport instead of EXL. started by asking quotes in NJ. The lowest I got is $21,186 in NJ($24,162 OTD). In Maryland the lowest I got so far is $21,100($23800 OTD). I was hoping to hit around $20,300 Invoice and $22.5-$23k range OTD. Am I crazy to think that? Also anyone has experience putting Katzkin on their sports? is it worth it? getting this for the wife, she doesnt care about the moonroof but likes leather. how much should i be negotiating with the dealer for a accessory like this?(I got a quote for $1895 from one dealer)
I had Katzkin leather put in when I bought my Saturn L300 back in 2002. What was nice was that I was able to choose a custom color that complimented my exterior color. I think I paid around $1200-1500 for mine - but that included adding heated front seats as well.

make your best deal here in NJ your numbers are not that bad. Find a dealer offering the flex cash lowering your deal by 500. All added accessories and packages you want to buy at dealers invoice price.
Instead of going thru all that nonesense of installing the katzkin leather seats. why dont you just buy the EXL model ?

Hi Brian
I got this quote for 2014 Honda Accord EX-L without Navigation from Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg
Price 25200 (including doc fee and destination)
NC 3% taxes
NC license/title/Va temp tags
And 500 Discount on OTD price - that is 25550 after 500 discount.
Is this a good price ?. I stay in Charlotte. I need to drive 6 hours to this place. Can I trust them because my local dealers are changing their internet quotes after visiting showroom.
Hi Brian and others, I've been following this thread for a while now, and I have finally decided to purchase a Honda Accord Sport (manual transmission) after test drives the last two days (was also looking at the Mazda 6 and Mazda 3). I'm in NJ. I will be blasting dealers tomorrow with the approach you had stated in earlier posts, but would love to get some specific info on dealerships or managers that you recommend for lowest OTD price. I'm looking to buy immediately, if a good deal is available. Thank you in advance for your help.
Just bought a new 2014 Accord LX CVT. $21276 Out of the door. 19800-500flex cash + ttl.
Financed at 0.9 through HMC. This is in Sacramento, CA.
Brian,
I have a quote for invoice at $23,225 plus $500 flex cash which brings me to $22,725 for the Accord Sport CVT in Eastern Washington. What should be my target price below invoice without including flex cash?
What dealer did you buy from?
@mikem51 I bought from Auto Nation in Roseville. Negotiated over email. Let me know how you did. Good Luck.
Was it Gary you worked with?
**Car Purchased!!! ** 2014 Honda Accord EX 4cyl CVT from Garden State Honda in Passaic NJ. OTD price is 25,150 with wheel locks included. Details coming soon. Thanks for the great forum!
@mikem51 I think it was Sean and someone else.
Good price................. There have been 5 forum members who drove there and had a very good experience/ price. Have the Internet mgr or sales mgr. send you a email conformation with price breakdown to avoid any trouble.. Or the bill of sale/ buyers order.. Tell them you will not make the drive to them unless something is in writing. Offer a credit card deposit to show your serious..
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
Call as many honda dealerships as your willing to drive to.. Target dealerships offering flex cash 1st..
and dealerships that may have 3, 4 or more manual accords on there lots.. This would be your best chance for getting a good deal with this model..
Call Auto-sport honda in bridgewater nj. Int /mgr George make him meet or beat your best offer. Again if he has no manuals your price may be in the 500 below invoice range plus flex cash..
Your target price should be starting at 1000 below dealers invoice on your model plus looking for dealerships offering 500 flex cash.. Your leverage when calling dealeships are... You are buying that moment your calling.. Make each dealership comitt to some kind of price.. Yes or No for the sale.
Your model accord is a supply and demand vehicle. With limited to no manuals on dealers lots will result in pricing alot lower than your target price. No dealer will go out of there way to find you this vehicle for the better pricing you have been seing in this forum. Good luck.. post yoiur deal
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
You should be targeting for the Immediate sale another 500 dollars off your price quote..... Your area is not getting prices like your seeing in this forum. That said getting 500 below invoice price plus 500 flex cash puts you at 1000 below invoice.. If you are good at negotiating apply how to email and call dealerships... You will get lower pricing Otherwise getting another 500 is a good deal in your AREA.
If these dealerships are in driving distance Call the internet dept. speak with the Mgr. if you can. If thats not possible work your best deal thru the internet team.
Auto-nation, Lynnwood, Renton Honda
good luck.

I am feeling like I got screwed with an OTD price of $29,500 on an EXL!!!
Anna,
Invoice price on the EXL model w/ dest charge = 26,650..
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
Brian,
I seen 29,060 was the price so I thought with ttl I was doing good. Then once everything was finished I realized my car does not have navigation! I must of had sucker written on my forehead!
Anna,
Whats done is done... You learn from life's mistakes and move on. On the brighter side. You purchased one of the best cars in its class. drive it and enjoy it.. Read thru these posts on how and when to buy making pointers for your next car purchase... Happy easter

thanks bud.
Looking to lease a 2014 EX-L with Nav. Seems the prices in So Cal aren't as great as the east coast. Currently offered 36 months 12k miles with first payment TTL out the door for $379.68/mo including tax. Is that reasonable for this region or should I keep contacting other dealers? This was based on true car price of 28374 including destination and doc prep. Thx
elisham
Go to the honda lease forum to check out your numbers and get answers on leasing.... Your agreed selling price for your model should be 1000 below invoice or better... Thats about average price in your area.
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
Its the budget ofcourse
I am paying cash, If I can squeeze the sport with leather in 24k range I will still be saying $2k-$3k than a EX-L. so thats there...
Hello All,
been a lurker on this chat board for a couple of months. Been folowing eveyones postings and Brian's comments. That said, does anyone on this board have experience with dealerships in SW Ohio (Dayton/Cincinnati area)? Also Brian, you seem to have the pulse on pricing throughout the US. Any feedback for me on what you would consider to be a good deal in SW OH?
Thanks.
BTW, looking for a 2014 Accord Sport CVT
I always hear good stuff about Hidy Honda in Beavercreek.

Your area = 1000 plus below invoice plus flex cash.. I have dealt with Hidy Honda in beavercreek alot over the years. Very good dealership. I would try Kings honda also, 2 members have purchased over at Kings.. Superior honda has been mentioned to me several times might be closer to Cincinnati nothing but good feed back at this dealership..
I'm assuming Jay Honda, and Rick Case Honda are to far. If not call there internet manager it may be worth the trip..

I have a quote of $23,000 plus T&Ts for a 2014 Accord EX. . Seems pretty good. What do you think?
TJM22.... What is the total out the door?
Approx. $24,600 with tax and tags and destination. There was no mention of any doc.fee. Why, are they going to spring that on me at the last minute?
Doc fee's, especially states that have very high ones. If you dont ask dealerships about there doc fee charge? What happens is when your signing off on the bill of sale you will see the charge on the bottom of the bill before they total the whole deal.. You may get a response from the dealer like " you have to pay this " . Or this is our paperwork fee.. Some dealers wont even say a word.. Doc's are all dealership profit.
Always ask each dealership prior to making your deal about there doc fee charge.... if its a high doc you could counter that charge by adding it into your target or asking price..
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
Document fee of $133. Total out the door would be $24,394 for an Accord EX.
I have an offer for Accord EX of:
Price $23,389
TTL etc $25,428
Flex -$500
OTD $24,928
I am in MN. Thoughts/Suggestions/Advice are appreciated. I have two may be three other dealers that should be sending me a price.
Other dealers in the area have high prices, down right rude and seem entitled to have customers top dollars without questioning.

I was thinking of trading it in for a new accord ex or ex L. How much do you think I would get for my old car and about how much would I expect to pay for a new accord?
Hi, I'm looking to lease a 2014 Honda Accord Sport CVT. I'm in the Brooklyn NY area and I was offered the car at invoice $23,225. Can I get this car under invoice in my area? If so how much under is realistic? I already have the residual & the MF #'s. Thanks for the help.
