The dealer did not tell me the selling price. It was very confusing...they kept coming up with numbers that were scribbled on paper that just said the amount per month. The numbers came down by $70 per month, but I do not know the selling price.

Without knowing the selling price, it's hard for us to determine if you are getting a good deal.
The only variables in a lease are the money factor and the selling price. If some of that information is missing, it is too easy for the dealer to confuse you, which is what seems to be happening.
Hi, with 62% Res & 0.00170 MF I am getting a target monthly payment of around $380 at invoice price ($27,135.00) with the 1st & Fees lease type. Acqu. fee $595 and Tile transfer & other fees $293. Disposition fee ($599) I've split it in half. Does my numbers look right?

I was not able to close a deal in Sept, with that can you please provide me with the MF and Residual (October) for 2014 model:
EX-L 2wd 36mo/12k miles: EX-L Awd 36mo/12k miles: EX-L 2wd 36mo/15k miles: EX-L Awd 36mo/15k miles: (San Francisco, Bay Area)
I did receive the following quote: $29,950 MSRP (includes destination charge) $26,200 Vehicle Price (destination included) $300.00 License Fee $80.00 Doc fee $2375 Sales Tax $20.00 State Fee $28,975 OTD (including sales tax and all fees). $26,600 OTD (if i back out taxes and would need to add acquisition fee of $595.00)
So if I leased, would i normally come in with cash to cover first mo payment, license, doc and state fee? what about the acquisition fee, is that usually rolled into the purchase price (Cap Cost: Sales price + Acquisition fee)?

The Honda numbers are good until 11/3/14.
You can roll in just about everything into the cap cost other than the first payment.

I'm in Florida. Are you including the 750 lease cash in your calculations? If I were to include it in my calculations (I did not included it) that would bring my pre-tax payment down to $337 which is closer to your $333.43. I believe Honda would not be offering any rebate on the new 2015 model as of today. OR are they??
Does the MSRP include the destination charge? When you calculate the residual value do you use the MSRP (w/destination charge included)? Excluding all other fees (doc, license, etc.) is the adjusted cap cost derived from the sales price + acquisition fee and the destination charge is accounted for in the sales price?
I'm trying to figure out the monthly depreciation charge...

Florida taxes the payment only, so the $380/mo quote is high. Are they adding in any other fees to the cap cost that could account for the difference?

Did you consider in your calculations the lease cash $750? I believe that is only for the 2014 model year. If I were to include it my quote it would drop to $337.

The residual is calculated on the full factory MSRP, including destination.
CAP cost should be selling price + acquisition (and any other cost that you roll into the lease). All selling prices should include destination. Any calculations showing otherwise is just the dealer trying to obfuscate the details of the deal.

So I am embarrassed to ask as I have been reading and way over loaded trying to figure it out. I promised my dad I would help him lease a crv ex awd. I will start trying to learn more but in the mean time my two questions are I see most don't out a down payment but we planned on putting 2k down. So to back track CRV ex awd 12k 36/months. I am in NJ. Is there a way to just get a target price for monthly give or take... Also I am trading in my CRV 2006 ex with a 126k. How does that effect the price... Does it bring down my monthly or eliminated the need for a dp? Its my first time looking at a lease so I apologize... I will keep reading trying to understand.

If you want to pay $2000 at lease signing, the 1st payment, acquisition fee, sales tax and title/registration/dealer fees will almost equal that..
As for your trade-in? Ask them to cut you a check for any excess over the $2000 that you wish to pay upfront. (though, if I had a used CR-V, I'd sell it myself and pocket the extra $2K-$3K over what the dealer will give you).

Hard to qualify without knowing the MSRP and the negotiated selling price. National or regional deals are usually just "OK" - you can do better negotiating a selling price on your own and ensuring that the MF isn't being inflated on you.

The Honda numbers I have are valid from 9/3/14 to 11/3/14, so there was no drop for the month of October.
Confirm with your dealer that they are using Honda Finance to source the lease.
Looking at a three year, 36000 mile lease with residual value of 15120. I know I can get better, but not sure how much. I've seen 179 per month with $2000 down (before tax and what not) advertised locally.

Are lease taxes in MN calculated up front or added to the monthly payment? With your MSRP and cap cost of $23,274, along with the RV and MF of 60% (LX AWD) and .00032, I get a pre-tax payment of $238.79/mo
There is also $750 of lease cash, but I suspect that is built into your offered price.
Putting money down on a lease is something we don't recommend - if the car is stolen or totaled, you are out that money.
Okay, it looks like MN taxes are calculated up front and can be rolled into the payments. So I've got a sign and drive offers at 269 and 252, should I expect to get much lower?

The only two variables in a lease are the negotiated price and the MF. Rarely do Honda dealers mark up the MF, so if you're comfortable with the selling price, I don't see how you can get a lower payment each month.
I have been dealing with most of these numbers over email, so I haven't seen the selling price, just the end result zero up front payments but I know the other details (doc fees, dmc, etc.) from the original quote. Backing into the selling price it looks like the OTD price would be ~21200 and selling would it would be around 20,400? Does that sound right?

I can't tell you if the math is right, but if I use an MSRP of $25,200 and a net cap cost of $21,200 I get a pre-tax payment of $180.51/mo for 36 months.

The EX AWD has the same lease program as the LX AWD. .00032 MF and 60% residual for 36 mo, 12K/yr. $750 lease cash.
The money factor is used to calculate the finance portion of the lease. .00032 is roughly equivalent to an APR of 0.77% (cheap!).
After November 3rd, Honda will come out with a new program that may or may not be different.
Thank you. Still wondering what the Security System is on the EX... The LX does not have it. Thanks!
It's probably the lights flashing and horn beeping if someone opens the car without unlocking it.. and, probably includes an engine immobiliser, in that case. (that would be typical for Honda)
The big difference for the EX is the moonroof and the hands-free entry, in my opinion.
Is there a new deal on leasing 2014 CRV's for November? What MF and residual should I be looking for? I think that the savings on a 2014 Lease would be much greater than on a 2015 lease. Am I correct? Thank you.

It's probably the lights flashing and horn beeping if someone opens the car without unlocking it.. and, probably includes an engine immobiliser, in that case. (that would be typical for Honda)
The big difference for the EX is the moonroof and the hands-free entry, in my opinion.

What MF and residual should I be looking for?

Thank you.
