Update: Got another dealer to price a $60.9k car to match our current lease but dealer is asking for 1 pay upfront. 27Mo /27k miles total payment ($1k+$535x26 incl 9% Tax) also including 2yrs service contract. Doesn't seem to make sense on lease. Keep working.

  • dl_amgdl_amg Member Posts: 57

Purchased from 1st quoted dealer: $61.695 MSRP (p1,Parking Assist pkg, Keyless Go pkg, Sports pkg, Lane Tracking Pkg, heated seat, etc.) on 27mo/27k mi lease for $1k drive off, $575 mo/incl tax, 2yr service, dent removal & paint potection pkg. Paper show $11000 off MSRP.

I show .00118 MF and 69% for 24 month, 10K/yr lease. I'm not sure of the 27 month residual.

Hi, I got a quote on $63K sticker price. $695 a month, sign and drive (nothing out of pocket).
    -- or --
out of pocket $1800 bank, dmv, etc. for $624 a month
    I'm based in NYC.

I want to know if that's good price or do I have room to negotiate? I called many other dealers in white plains, NJ, and NY. No dealer i spoke to can match that.

If any one have better deals, let me know what dealer and where from. Thanks in advance.

Looks like a pretty good deal....but try to get them to throw in maintenance in that price.

If you go back and read the last 4-6 weeks of posts in this discussion, you will find that many of the posters are getting a tremendous discount off MSRP as the selling price.

Which state are you in? Several states - Illinois, Texas and Maryland - tax the entire purchase price of the car on a lease, rather than just the amount of the depreciation.

Yes.. I've been reading the posts and saw many people got great prices. I live in NoCal and every agents that I talked to giving me the MF of .00136 if I have a good credit score. As in for today the lowest quote I got so far is $639.36/mo with $1300 drive off for 27 months leasing. And they include the 2year mantainance services as well. MSRP is $59,640 (premium 1 pkg, rear deck spoiler, comfort box, split fold seats, sport pkg, keyless go pkg, lane tracking pkg).

Can someone help with money factor and residual on e250 diesel 4matic for April? Also does the e250 have different money factor and residuals than a gas 4 matic?

Checked the e class for the first time today as current lease ends in May. Salesman seemed to be jerking me around and telling me that the diesel leased poorly and that he had none in stock and the next nearest dealer had nine either. When I checked dealer inventory online on my phone he said he made a mistake and they in fact had 4 on the lot and the other place showed 5! From my perception he was steering me away from a diesel lease but coming in all I read about was the Diesel being the e-class value leader. I'm not following why the model proclaimed to be the "value" in the E series is a poor lease? Any help appreciated. Thx

The E250 and E350 have residual values that are within 1% of each other, but the MF used for the E350 is promotional at .00118, while the E250 uses the standard MB MF of .00195-.00225, so it's possible that the lease payment would work out to be higher.

Not quite sure I understand what you mean by "value leader"? Lower price? The dealer may have incentives in play if they move gasser models rather than diesels, but a good salesperson will listen to the customer and try to get them the best deal for the car they want.

I did a Diesel E250 vs Gas E350 quick comparison on cost benefit on 1k mi per month. E250 is good to pay up to $35-40/mo more on lease and still justify on higher MF...but all depends on diesel price vs gas price.

  • ccc555ccc555 Member Posts: 4

I completely understand that dealers get incentives to move models and that the interest rate plays a big role in the lease as well, but many publications when reviewing the E250 said the same type of thing that Motorweek said_,_ "As for pricing, the E250 BlueTEC follows the recent Benz trend of being the new base model, starting at $52,325. That’s a great strategy if you actually want people to buy diesels."_ But if I figure I can get the 350 for like $100 cheaper a month given that there is an approx. 2% difference in the interest rate. At that price difference the 250 doesn't really make sense financially for a lease. Salesman was right on that.

I still think he was being disingenuous only because he was telling me he couldn't show me any and that no local dealers had any. When I found several on my phone, he admitted he made a mistake in how he was searching on his system. In any event, it seems the 350 is a much better lease than the 250 at least for April. Thanks for the help!

What is the residual for E350 for 36 months and 48 months? I am in Philadelphia and one of the dealer is quoting me MF of 0.00140 . I can't remember what the residual was though. This is for 12k miles/year. The quote he gave me were $650 inc tax for 27 months or $735 inc tax for 48 months. Both with only fees. This is on a $66k sticker car.

  • girlygirl13girlygirl13 Member Posts: 3

The base MF is .00118, so it looks as if your dealer is marking it up slightly for additional profit.

Residual is 58% for 36 months and 50% for 48 months.

    What is the selling price?

What a fabulous resource you are. I would like to tap your expert information about the residual and money factor for and E-Class wagon. The best numbers I find is residual of 60% for 36mo/12K and 68% for 24mo/12K. It is the MF that is confounding. My dealer quotes .002, but one source states .000252. Is there such a special subvented rate for the wagon? Thank you for your response.

The residuals are actually 1% higher than the ones you have. There is not a subvented money factor for the wagon, but dealer markups to money factors are rampant. We usually see the standard money factor quoted in a range of .00195-.00225.

The "Buy Rate" is not so friendly for the Wagon. How about the E350 Cabriolet's MF and residuals for 24/27/36 months. Also, have you an idea how $10,000 discounts from MSRP is so common.

    .00128 and 66% (24mo) 60% (30mo) or 56% (36mo)

    Residuals are for 15K - add 2% for 12K and 3% for 10K

I don't know how or why $10K discounts are available. You might want to check the "E-class prices paid" discussion.

Thank you. I will pose that question in the "Buyer's" forum. It is a bit sparse, however, compared to your site.

  • ghstudioghstudio Member Posts: 972

There are two or three parts to the $10K off. First, of course, is dealer discount of about 5%. Mercedes on occasion (or more often than not) has marketing money for cars around $4K for e350's but it varies by model. Generally that money applies to current drivers of specific cars, but the last one seemed to make anything other than perhaps a suzuki eligible. Finally there is sometimes loyalty money if you are currently leasing/paying off to mercedes finance. There are also deals with outside companies such as IBM and there is the USAA discount...and don't forget the MB club of America discount of $500 if you have been a member for a year. $10K is not an unusual number when you add up what you are eligible for. Oh...would you believe that some dealers forget to add their discount to the other money :) watch for that little trick.

Is there some online lease calculators where I can put in the pertinent values and it will give me the monthly payments? The calculations I have comes nowhere near what you're giving and I am sure your numbers are more in line with what I am seeing from the dealer than my calculations. I suppose every dealer has their own way of doing things and what's published by mbusa isn't what the dealer shows what's published by mbusa.

Here's the deal I ended up with for a 3 yr lease on e350. They also included an accessory that was just under $300 which isn't reflected on paper.

    67695 - msrp,
    799 - added 3 yrs prepaid maintenance,
    57746.8 - after discount,
58454.80 - gross cap cost (discounted price + maintenance),
    40370.16 - residual (which I calculate to be 59.635%),
4629 - rent charge (money factor of 0.00130 per their mbusa published value),
633.47 - monthly charge before taxes

I mentioned that I heard the april rate of 0.00118 mf from mbusa and their response was that number was incorrect. But I didn't mention the residual of 58% where theirs was 59.635%. Strange...

Using your MSRP and selling price for 27/12, I calculate a pre-tax payment of $469.95

Increasing the lease term to 36 months takes the payment to $534.08.

Can you get the dealer to break down their numbers? The payment they are quoting seems a bit high.
