At the moment, no - standard MF is in play (.00157) for the 2015's, and no lease cash.

Add 1% to the residual to go from 12K to 10K per year.

I'm sure lease programs exist for CPO cars, but we don't have any information on them. I suspect the dealer would work with local banks or credit unions to supply financing, not VW. I also suspect that they would be more expensive than on a new model.

I thought I answered that; if you ask the dealer, I'm pretty sure they will tell you the $2250 is part of the discount given to you for the low cap cost numbers.

Right now to the best of my knowledge, VW has dealer cash for all 2014 models. I believe it is $2,250? What I'm trying to figure out is if that dealer cash is able to be combined with the lease cash and top tier money factor or if it is a one or the other type of deal. Either way it will have a sizable impact on the adjusted cap cost.

The only information we have is $1000 lease cash on the 2014 GLI ... I'd recommend you use the "Car Research" tab at the top of the page to see what other incentives exist for that model.

I can't say for certain that any generic cash available to the dealer can be combined with the model specific lease cash we know about.

We haven't seen anything like the $2250 on all models.. doesn't mean that it can't be true, but it isn't in any documentation available to us..

So here is another question! My lease is not up until mid Jan so I do have sometime. My current VW qualifies for the lease pull ahead program so I'm free to pull the trigger on a new VW at any time really. Given that I am looking at 2014 models, which have some good buy rates and incentives now, do you think they will get even better in Nov? I guess one of the biggest factors is the residual. It is decent on the GLI right now at 10K miles. Seems like gas VW are becoming worse and worse to lease.

Any insight is much appreciated.

Hard to predict what will happen to the numbers next month. Might get better to help clear out remaining inventory - or, if inventory levels are low enough, they might stay the same or get slightly worse, and VW Finance may sweeten the 2015 numbers.

One last question for the mods. How realistically attainable is the Edmunds price promise guarantee number as a place to start lease negotiations. In my situation it is a very aggressive price, about 13.5% below MSRP. So far the dealers are not getting anywhere close to the pricing that cap cost would yield based on the provided buy rates. It's strange because the two GLI's I am looking at have been lot ornaments for 7 months; however, they are not being very aggressive at all. This will be the 5th VW in 6.5 years for our house and they have been much more aggressive in the past. Any insight about the price promise guarantee number would be much appreciated. Well, the price promise is supposed to be a number that the dealer honors. But - not sure if the same rules apply to leasing.

Given the flagging VW sales of late, I'm a bit surprised at the lack of assertiveness by the dealers as well.

Well, sometimes there are different incentives for buying and leasing. So you may not get the price promise/true car selling price as the cap cost for a lease, if the price includes cash back rebates. Though sometimes there are lease incentives so you may not be able to get a buy at the same price as the cap cost.

Now - I can see that the MF should be .00024 correct? Is the dealership at liberty to modify this as they want? And should I insist on the correct MF if I decide to move forward? Curious is incentives will get better or worse next month also...

Base MF is indeed .00024 ... dealer is inflating this on you for extra profit. Politely but firmly tell them you won't sign a deal unless the base MF is being used.

We also don't recommend putting money down on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, you are out that money.

No idea what will happen with 2014 lease numbers next month .. I suppose it depends on how much inventory is left over.
