VW doesn't really offer a competitive 27 month program, so here are the 36 mo. numbers.

.00005 MF and 50% residual for the 1.8T SE. $3000 lease cash

.00018 MF and 50% residual for the V6. $4000 lease cash

.00043 MF and 58% residual for the TDI. No lease cash

Also, am I correct in assuming that you can negotiate a purchase price then deduct the lease cash from that price? With true car I can get $5234 off MSRP and then take the lease cash off cap cost as well? or is the lease cash only off MSRP? Thanks - Brian

.00005 MF and 49% residual. $3000 lease cash.

Technically, the lease cash is a VW-to-dealer incentive. Any quote that the dealer gives you will take that into account. I don't profess to know how dealer's handle TrueCar quotes, but I'm pretty sure you won't get $5234 off MSRP, then another $3000 on top of that.

What will be the reasonable MO. payment I should expect;
Case 1: no down payment
Case 2: down payment of $3,000

Residual and MF for 36/12 on a Passat S with Automatic - 49% and .00024. $2750 lease cash.

In Illinois, you must pay sales tax on the entire purchase price of the vehicle, which makes your lease payment much more expensive than in other states. The law is changing, but not until 1/1/15.

I would not recommend making a down payment to lower your monthly payment; if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

If you can provide the sticker price and negotiated selling price, we can model some payments for you.

Using a traditional lease payment calculation, I get a pre-tax payment of $238.07.

However, you will pay the sales tax on the entire $19,591, so that amount will be added to the purchase price up front, and will increase your payment. What is the sales tax rate where you live?

Adding that to your negotiated cap cost takes your payment to $287.47/mo for 36 months.

On a purchase, there is a factory to customer rebate of $1000 available on the Passat and $1250 of factory to dealer money.

No difference with or without sunroof. MF is .00005 and residual is 47%. $3000 lease cash.

On a purchase, there is a $1000 customer incentive, plus 0% financing up to 60 months. The dealer gets a small kickback for writing a loan (a bigger kickback, if they markup the rate).. There maybe a dealer incentive for cash deals that don't use the 0% financing, but I'm not sure what amount that would be. It could be as much as $1000.

You can add 1% to the residual if you purchase the Lease Excess Wear Program (LEWP).

Since he asked and I'm going to have to ask, are the residuals the same for the TDI SE & TDI SEL? Money factor is .00043 for both? So if the residual is 55% for 15K per year, then is it 57% for 12K?

All TDI numbers are the same, regardless of trim level. And yes, add 2% for 12K.

No. Lease cash is only available on gas powered Passats. If you are interested in leasing, the higher residual of the TDI will most likely offset most of the lease cash incentive.

I'd tell the dealers that I'm not interested in a deal that includes a marked up MF.

The numbers for the CC R-Line for 36mo, 12K/yr are .00032 MF and 50% residual. Not sure where the .00001 came from. Sorry... and, it's $4500 lease cash... So, you should be looking for a discount around $5500.

.00052 is marked up...

MF is .00018 and I confirm the $4000 lease cash on the V6 models.

Residual is 57% / 55% / 50%.

nyc raises a good point - how are the remaining payments on your CC lease being addressed? I'm guessing they are being added to the net cap cost of your new lease, given the size of the new payment.

I can confirm the MF of .00005 and residual of 47% for the SE 1.8T 36/15. Add 2% for 12K per year.

We can model a payment if you provide us with the net cap cost.

Yes, we were assuming a $0 down lease with no negative equity rolled in. If my math is right, the $77/mo delta between my payment and yours represents the approximately $2800 of remaining lease payments being rolled in.

Why are you getting out of your existing lease early?
