    I got a quote for a 2014 Passat TSI 1.8T SEL Premium (MSRP $33,165)
    Selling price $ 27,981
15k miles for 36 months $378 with zero down
    .00018 money factor
    48% residual

Or purchase (60 month finance) for $30,495 using VW 0% financing or $27,981 (2.9-3.9% APR).

He said the lease cash $3,250 was factored in. Considering the prices are the same for lease or financing, how is the lease cash factored in? Is this a good deal?

this is in Northern NJ, by the way.

using your numbers, I get a pre-tax payment of $342.95 for 36 months.

I confirm both the MF of .00018 and residual of 48% for 36/15.

Your sales price (before lease cash) works out to $31,231, or just about $2K off sticker. Use the pricing tools at the top of the page to get your target price.

The lease cash is a "dealer bonus" and can be applied to either a lease or a purchase.

Need assistance with validating a current offer from NJ dealer on a '14 V6 SEL Premium. I've been quoted $400/mth (includes tax) with only 1st month payment due at signing with fees rolled into the term of the lease based upon:

    MSRP: $35,765.00
    Residual: $17,882.50
    Cap Cost: $31,298.02
    Dealer Cash: $3,500

Please let me know if the quoted offer utilizes the listed 0.00005 MF or if it's being marked up.

    Thanks for your assistance.

I'm looking to lease a 2014 Passat Wolfsburg edition 1.8 for 24 months 12K miles in Georgia (GA). Can you tell me the MF and Residual as well as any Dealer Cash that should be available? The list price is $25,550. Have not started negotiations yet. Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Your cap cost should be much lower - before the lease cash, you're only getting about $1000 off sticker. Use the pricing tools at the top of the page to get a target price.

What is the lease term and how many miles per year? Can't evaluate your quote from the dealer without that information.

We would need both the MSRP and negotiated selling price in order to evaluate the deal.

The 36/12 MF and RV for the 1.8 SE are .00018 and 50%, with $3250 of lease cash available.

    1.8 Wolfsburg is .00012 and 58% with $2750 lease cash for 24/12.

Georgia has an "ad valorem" tax, which is applied against the entire selling price of the car (6.75%, if I'm not mistaken). This will greatly increase your monthly payment.

Also don't forget that Georgia is one of many states that have absurdly high documentation fees ($500, $600, $700...), so find out your dealer's "doc fee" and make sure you factor that into your negotiation.

If your figure of $375 does not include 7% NJ sales tax that is equivalent to the $400 offer which includes taxes and validates no MF markup. Now it's a question of good selling price. Is this a good deal? The initial offer at $429/mth was based on a 30,710 (all other terms were the same) selling price which I thought was good but now have doubts.

NJ taxes are paid upfront. I assume the taxes were in that CAP cost number, along with registration and fees.... If so, then the two numbers are actually $25/mo. apart. If taxes weren't included, then yes... roughly equivalent.

$400/mo. with only 1st payment due at signing is a pretty good price for a $35K MSRP VW.. Of course, if you can go lower, you should do so.. ;)

Thanks for the info on the Wolfsburg in Georgia. So far have an offer of $21,109 (-$5008 from MSRP including Dealer and Tag Fees) for the Wolfsburg and $23,348 (-$5019 from MSRP that includes Dealer and Tag Fees) for the SE w/Sunroof. Do these sound good?

Dang all of these GA fees and Dealer fees. Lowest dealer fee so far is $599 and highest is $699. Tag fee ranges from $102 to $153. Looks like they add on everywhere.

Need to get the SE and the SE w/Sunroof Money Factor and Residual please for both 24m/12k and 36m/12k - Thanks again for such great help.

Hi-- this is a great resource, thanks! I am new to leasing. I am looking at a "2014 model year blowout" lease offer in NYC as follows:

    Passat S 1.8L
    MSRP: $22,915
    0 money down.
I asked the dealer about the residual value and he said it's 51%.
    offer is $198/mo.

So my question is, what should the MF and residual value be? Is this a good deal, or should I still try to negotiate a cap cost lower than the MSRP?

    Thanks!

I think your services in helping folks with leasing is great. I suggest that you ask folks to submit information in a format that would be universally helpful to all. It has been said that leasing should focus on more than the monthly payment. The format that I am suggesting is as follows:
    MSRP
    Dealer Discount
    Net Sales Price
    Acquisition Fee
    Sales Price
    Mfg Incentives or lease cash
    Cap Cost
    Residual in % and $
    Money factor
    Monthly pay't net of taxes
    Monthly pay't with taxes
If I missed anything, please add it. I think an orderly approach to information submission will lead to a better too in finalizing a lease deal and avoid a lot of subtrafuge and guessing.

I would also add state, as the tax implications for leases vary based on where you live.

The only issue is how to publicize this information in a place where everyone can see it, regardless of the make and model they are seeking information for. Us hosts have kicked it around for a bit but we are still searching for the right method.

Thanks to the mods for all of the quick responses. I have one more question as I continue my research. What are the current numbers for a 1.8T SEL? Are they any different than the SE?
This would be for a 36mo/12k.
    Thanks!

With the help of the participants on this forum a few days ago I got what I think is a pretty good deal for a 2014 Passat 1.8 SE, msrp of 27340, 36 months and 12K , in Florida.I am paying 275 monthly plus tax with a first payment of 500 to cover 1st month of lease and tags.My lease would have been $10 a month lower but although my credit it excellent I had to settle for a bit higher MF of .0048 because VW said I had no history of loans or leases to track and had a temporary address while moving to a new home.
I love the car and think I got a very good deal .What do you think?
    Thank you.

M: I am somewhat surprised by the 48% residual so early in the model year. That aside, I notice there are some 2014s that are still around. What are the lease cash, residual and money factor for a 2014 SE with the same 3 year 45K numbers? Any differences in the numbers for a 2.5 or 1.8? Thanks.

Thanks.

    Those are the 2014 numbers..

Looking for the October MF, residual, and incentives for:

    1) 2014 and 2015 Passat 1.8 SEL Premium 36/12K and 24/12K;
    2) 2014 and 2015 Passat TDI SEL Premium 36/12K and 24/12K.

Also has the $1000 turbo promotion expired and does it apply to both of these vehicle trims?

    Thanks for your help!

    Thank you for the information.

Is the lease cash the same thing as (dealer cash or hidden rebates)?
