How does this sound for a 3 year, 15K miles per year lease in New York on RX350 AWD?
    MSRP $50,514
    MF = 0.0009
    Residual = 58%
    Initial Cap Cost = $47,797
    Cap Cost Reduction = -$1,500
Cap Cost Increase for Bank Fee = +$700
    Adjusted Cap Cost = $46,997
Monthly Payment $560.30 (not including NY State/County sales tax on purchase and sales tax on $1,500 cap cost reduction incentive)
Up front costs: About $2,000 = [NY State/County sales tax +$12.50(tires+inspection) + $75 ("processing" fee)]
First month lease payment waived by Lexus

My numbers match yours to the penny.

We don't recommend making any sort of cap cost reduction - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose the money.

Do you think that the adjusted cap of $46,997 and the $560.30/month is a reasonable deal to close on by month's end? I could offer to pay the $700 bank fee up front and that would probably move the monthly down to about $540/month as well.

I don't make decisions about with other people's money. If you are comfortable with the selling price, that's the biggest part of the lease deal.

And yes, paying the bank fee up front will lower your payment about $19/mo.

I finally pulled the trigger on a 2015 Lexus RX 350 AWD today. To pay my dues here on this forum for all that you have shared, here are the details of my car :

    2015 Lexus Rx 350 AWD
Add Ons : Comfort Package, Premium Package w/Blind Spot Monitor, Navigation w/Voice Command, Tow Prep package, Intuitive Park Assist, Remote Engine Start, Wood & Leather Trim Steer & Shift Knob, All weather floor/cargo mats/Cargo Mats, wheel locks, 19" Alloy Wheels,

    Lease Term/Miles : 36/10k

    MSRP : $52,113
    Dealer Deduction : $4,200
    Net Cap Cost : $47,913

    RV : 61% or $31,788.93
    MF : 0.00090

    Monthly Payment : $519.62

Taxes + Fees : $3,092.38 (taxes paid upfront)
    Lexus Discounts : $2,519.62

    Down Payment : $572.76

    Lexus Discounts include :
    $1,500 : Lexus Lease Rebate
    $ 500 : Auto Show Attendance
    $ 519.62 : Comp 1st month Payment

So, $573 down and $520 per month.

    Here's an interesting perspective :
My total capital outlay at the end of the 3 yr lease (including all taxes and fees) is
    36% of MSRP or $18,759.46

Based on the RV of 61% or $31,788, the total depreciation for 3 yrs is
    $20,324.07

In other words, the latent/potential value that I could realize at the end of the lease (in theory) by buying and flipping the car is :
3% of MSRP or $1,564.61 (more if the car comes in under 30k miles and is very good condition).

This in itself makes it deal too good to pass over.

Thanks Michaell ..... I have a couple of more questions.
You have been on this forum for a while now and are probably familiar with leasing trends. If that's true, would you know :
    1. When in the year (which month) the MF for the Lexus Rx 350 AWD is the highest, i.e., most unfavorable for the buyer. ?
    2. When in the year (which month) is it typically at its lowest, i.e., most unfavorable for the buyer ?
    3. If the MF changes every month for this car ?
    3. How about the Residual Value, does that change every month for this car ?

In other words, when in the year would be the worst time to try and buy a Lexus Rx 350 AWD ?

    Thanks

    1. I don't track MF trends - too many manufacturers, and too many models
    2. MF does tend to get updated every month - doesn't always means that the value changes
    3. Lexus residuals are usually reset every quarter. New numbers will be out in early April. Residuals are usually best at the beginning of the model year and slowly go down. However, the MF could also be reduced as well, but there isn't any hard data to support that statement.

There could be regional programs that we don't know about, but the most likely answer is they are bumping the MF for more profit.

The $2000+ savings on the TX sales tax is a great thing, though..

Have the following deal in PA:

    MSRP: $48,000
    Sales Price: $46,000
    Lease Cash: -$1,500
    Negative Equity: $3,000

    Cap Cost: $47,500

    36 months/10K miles

    Residual: $29,280
    Money Factor: .00115
    Doc Fee: $135
    Bank Fee: $700
    Tax: $2350

    Monthly Payment: ~$615/month

Lexus pays the first month, of course. Thoughts? Seems like they might be jacking up the money factor here.

    Thanks!

    Hi mkgcmc,
I just closed the lease deal on a new Rx 350 AWD with an MSRP of $52,113.
    Monthly (for 35 months) : $519.62
Drive Off Cost (down pay) : $576.72

    Discounts :
    1. Dealer Lease Disc : $4,200
    2. Lexus Lease Cash : $1,500
    3. Lexus free 1st mth : $519.62
    4. Auto Show Discount : $500 (for attending the Lexus display at the MN auto show)

Use this as a benchmark; try and do better. Btw, they are jacking up the MF by 0.00025; if credit is Tier A or B, insist on the base MF of 0.00090

    Just my $$0.02.

+1 from me .. work to get the base MF.

Are you ending a lease early? The $3000 of negative equity alone is adding $80-85/mo to the payment.

Yes, I have a CT that we have grown out of. We may end up just needing to deal with it due to the impact on the monthly payment, but I'm at least exploring the options.

I'll work on the money factor and see where that gets me. Thanks for the help!

Update on this deal. I got the money factor down to .00090 as suggested. Here are the new numbers:

    36 months/10K miles
    MSRP: $48000
Gross Cap Cost: $48880 (includes ~$2800 negative equity)
    Cap Reduction: $2730

    Net Cap Cost: $46150
    Residual: $29282
    Money Factor: .00090

    Tax Up Front: $320
    First Year Fees: $112.50
    Doc Fee: $134
    Acquisition: $700

Due at Signing: $2500 (after $1500 rebate and first month payment)

    Cost: $589/month

Does this all look reasonable? The only thing I can think of is that the $111 left over from the first month's payment could be applied to the cap cost reduction.

    Thanks!

I wasn't able to do our lease deal in March because the present vehicle was still in the body shop getting repaired. Finally have it back now. What are the New York residual and MF for April on RX350 AWD 36 month lease with 15K miles/year? Is the $1500 lease cash and payment of the first month lease still available in April? Thanks for your help

Can you give me the RV for RX 350 AWD in Ohio for 12k/36 month lease.

I have been quoted the following:
    MSRP - $51,614.00
    Selling Price - $49,334.00
Rebate - $1500.00 (Lexus Financial Service Lease Cash)

36 months/10K miles monthly for $570.00 ($1853.98 due at signing)
MF - 0.00090 (requires a tier one credit rating

    What do you think?

Those are the base numbers, but why are they quoting you 10K/yr when you want 12K/yr?

    60% residual for 36mo, 12K/yr

If I go for the maximum 9 MSD and each MSD reducing my MF by 0.0001 what would be my effective MF ?

    Thanks

    MSRP 46,138
effective cap cost 39,639 (41139-1500) is this rite ?
    Residual 58%
    MF 0.00090

You cannot go lower than .00001 on a Lexus lease.

Each MSD deposit will reduce your money factor by .00008.   If you put down the maximum of 9 allowed then your money factor will reduce by .00072.   If your starting money factor is .0009 and you make the max 9 MSD, your new money factor (.0009 - .00072)  will be .00018, and that is if Lexus will allow you to go that low.
An .00018 money factor is a very low interest rate, probably less than 15 bucks a month or so depending on the MSRP plus residual amount. I don't think a dealership will go that low without selling the car at a higher price.

Just signed a 10k/36mo lease on a 350RX FWD premier with nav. Was this a good deal?

    Sales price - $43,714
    Gross cap cost - 44,414
    Cap reduction - 3,340
    Residual - 30,044
    $3,000 down out the door
    $370/mo + tax

What is the breakdown of the $3000 due at signing?

    Looks like a solid deal.

    3340 cap cost reduction
    400 first month payment
    760 misc title/license fees
    -$1,500 rebate
    = $3,000

We don't recommend making a cap cost reduction. If the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

Hello everyone! Just wanted yalls opinion on this deal:

We are trading in our 15 RX350 F Sport in order to bring or payment down. We broke even with the trade in, so no positive or negative equity. Truck had 16,300 miles.

    Here's the deal:

    36 Months/15k Miles

    MSRP: 50,917
    Sales Price: 43,350
    MF: .0009
    Residual: 58%
Net Cap Cost, including taxes and $1,500 rebate: 46,966.77

    Monthly Payment: $553
    Thoughts?

I get $516/mo before tax, so $553 seems about right depending on your tax rate (7.25%)

You must have gotten a tax credit, then. Texas applies sales tax to the entire selling price, not to the monthly payment, which is how my spreadsheet works.

I'd say you did very well. Enjoy the new RX!
