Thanks for the reply The term I was looking for was 3 year 12K. I am interested ont he certificate too as my friend has one he may not use.
What is the current money factor and depreciation for an RX350? Looking at a $50K model with buy price of $46K and initial quote of around $550 tax rolled in and just tax/tags in NY. Also, are there any other incentives and what is the welcome back certificate (is it transferable?)?

Still need to know the lease term and the miles per year.
Has anybody used a $2000 Lexus Welcome Back Certificate? Do you know if the $2000 comes from Lexus or from the dealer? Can you make your lease deal and show it to the dealer when it comes to making your upfront payment of first payment, document fees, bank fee, and tax?
Mitch360 - That sounds great! How did you get the certificate?
On a 2015 RX 350 FWD, the dealer provided an offer sheet for a 36/15 which shows the following:
MSRP $46,894 Residual 27,198.52 (58%) Initial Cap Cost $42,500 (Selling Price) Total Fees to Cap $836.19 Cash Cap Reduction $975.84 Tax Rate (Texas 6.25%) 2,656,25 Adjusted Cap Cost $45,016.60
Lease Money Factor .00145
Monthly Lease Payment $599.66
Security Deposit: Total Annual Fees $33.75 Total Initial Fees $90.75 Customer Cash Down $1700
Some questions: 1. Shouldn't the MF be .00105? This would reduce the payment about $30/mo. 2. Has the residual factor been recently reduced? I thought it was 59% vs 58% 3. On the $836.19 total fees to cap, I guess this includes the $700 acquisition fee. Should there be anything else? 4. Not sure what is in the $975.84 cash cap reduction. Dealer mentioned there was a $700 rebate, but they deducted it from the $1700 cash down and said I would only need $1000 down. 5. Do the security deposit fees ($33.75/yr and $90.75) look reasonable? 6. Final question, doesn't Lexus offer the first lease payment free as an incentive.
Any other observations would be welcome. I got the selling price reduced to $41,500, about 12% below MSRP, which looked to be very reasonable (not reflected in the above)

1) .00090 is base MF 2) 58% residual is correct 3) Since it's Texas, I'll guess acq.fee + inventory tax. 4) They used $1700 due at signing with a CAP reduction of $975 to get your payment down to the "magic" $599 (rather than $630 or so). That's your money.. the $975 5) Not sure what the fees are for, but unrelated to a security deposit 6) On some models, some months.. but, I don't see any 1st payment incentives for Lexus this month.
The $2000 certificate was mailed to me from Lexus. It is non transferable and each one has a name and certificate number on it. I brought it in to a Lexus dealer yesterday and he said he would discount the new lease by $2700 ( $2000 certificate plus $700 Lexus rebate ). However, I still have 5 payments on my 2012 lease which would have used up the $2700 discount. I will wait for my lease to end.

Still not clear on #4, the cap cost reduction of $975.
The quote shows a security deposit, customer cash down, of $1700. The salesman said "Cash down is $1000 from you and $700 from Lexus".
Why isn't the cap cost reduction equal to $1700 instead of the $975 reflected in the quote?

That makes perfect sense! Forgot about the lease payments being up-front instead of in arrears. Thanks for the clarification.
Does 33 month lease vs. 36 change the residuals and is it a better deal or a wash? Still looking at 12K miles for RX350.
33 month residuals are 3% higher than 36 month residuals. Given that you spread the fixed costs over fewer months, it will probably be a slightly higher payment. Definitely no advantage to that term.
Leased a 2015 RX 350 this weekend. The MSRP was $45,9XX. Lease term was 24 mo, 15K/yr. $2000 Lexus certificate + $1000 drive off cash to start + 9 MSDs. Lease pmt was $350 / mo, including sales tax of 9%.

Wow! Sounds great for a $45k vehicle. To get to the $350 lease, do you have a breakout of the selling price, residual, and money factor?
I'm still early in the negotiation phase, but got 12% off the MSRP. I think the $2000 certificate helped you a lot.
Thanks to the moderator and other posters. The info posted on this forum was very helpful in getting a good deal. I didn't get the upfront info on the residual and MF, but backed into the numbers based on the lease contract: 1. Residual looks to be 68% for 24 month, 15,000 miles/yr. 2. Money factor after 9 security deposits is nominal ($302 in interest over the entire lease term) 3. If I remember correctly, each deposit reduces the MF by 0.0008 4. MSRP was $45,963; adjusted cap cost was $38,659 (after $2000 certificate + $700 lease cash) 5. My $1000 cash at signing went mostly to pay 1st monthly pmt, DMV + sales tax on the lexus incentives. Other miscellaneous fees totaled about $100.
Hello, new to the forum, which is very helpful. Interested in a 24/27 month lease on an RX350 AWD (10k or 7500) with navigation. NYC. I received the following offer from a dealer in NJ. From what I'm reading from fellow posters of deals they received, this offer doesn't seem particularly attractive. Do you agree? I want to be no more than $400/mo with nothing down. Thanks.
Regular lease for 27 months $502.06 10,000 miles a year $2,051.81 Fees Payments included all taxes and fees
7,500 miles bring your payment down $10 Less Money Factor 0.00090 Sale Price Base On $45,946.00 Msrp $50,583.00

The base MF is .00090, so the dealer is not marking that up on you.
27/10 residual is 69% (70% for 7500 miles), so with your MSRP and selling price, I get a pre-tax payment of $481.79 ($463.51 for 27 months and 7500 miles).
Many thanks. When I expressed dissatisfaction at the $700 lease cash incentive, I was told to wait until mid-November for the December to Remember event. Does anyone have an idea of what deals are historically offered during this event?
Is it a good deal? 2015 RX 350 MSRP: $47.2K Sale Price: $42.5K Term: 36/7.5K Price after 36 months; $29K Monthly payment: $586 (included all tax and fees with 0 down) Texas tax rate is 6.25%
This is my first lease and would like to get advise from you. Thanks Nick

Sorry, I don't have access to last year's numbers, and it would be foolish to try to guess what they would be a month or two in advance.

The first thing to be aware of is that the sales tax in Texas is applied to the entire Sale Price, so the net cap cost jumps to $45,156.
The base MF is .00090 and the 36/7.5 residual is 62%. With the MSRP and net cap cost, I get a payment of $508.42/mo.
So, it looks like there is some room to negotiate with your dealer if they are offering $586/mo.
Have them give you a breakdown of all their calculations.

I built my own calculator in excel .. plugging in the MSRP of $47,200, a net cap cost of $45,156 (your selling price plus 6.25% sales tax), the MF of .00090 and a 62% residual, I get a payment of $508.42. I assume $0 down. If there are any other up front costs, I'm not aware of them so they aren't included in my calculations.
Doing this for someone that just threw this on me. Their lease is up on their 2012 RX350 and can get a new one for MSRP 50,500 Premium Sale$ 48,500 Residual = 60% Money factor is .00135 36 months/12k per yer
Monthly with tax is $640/NYC without taxes is $599/mo
They have bad credit but just because they co-signed on a bunch of stuff for family. Is this deal ok?

Might there be more room to negotiate a better selling price?
.00135 is the tier 2 MF for the RX this month, so that isn't being marked up.
Appreciate any help here. I am looking at a '15 RX350 AWD. Please let me know if the below deal sounds reasonable.

So then net cap cost should be 47343.58? term 48/10k 51% res
so 600 a month including tax? Does this make sense?
No, tax is applied to each payment monthly, not calculated up front for the entire lease in Colorado - I know, because I live in Colorado too.
The net cap cost is ($46,253 + $499.50 + $7.20) - $1800, or $44,959.70.
With those numbers (and 51% residual and .00090 MF), I get a pre-tax payment of $469.44. The local tax rate where I live is 7.9%, so my theoretical payment after tax would be $506.53/mo.
Is this Kuni or Stevenson? You might want to reach out to the other dealer to see if you get a consistent story from them regarding taxes.

What is the MSRP?
What is the breakdown of the $2579 up front?

First time leasing and wanted to get your thought on deal below. I'm looking at a '15 RX350 AWD.
Car: 2015 RX350 AWD with NAV MSRP: $51,863 Cap Cost: $48,277 Residual: 65.7% Money Factor: not sure Tier 1 Term: 36 months Miles: 12,000 Lease payment: $500 (NY tax paid upfront) Down Payment: $3,000 Breakdown of down payment (up front tax: $1612.26; acquisition fee: $166.27; license & title: $429.88; first month payment: $500, cap cost reduction: $291.59; rebate credit: $700)
Seem like a good deal? What does your model say?
Base MF is .00090, but I show the 36/12 residual as 60%.
With your MSRP and selling price, I get a payment of $548.10.mo.
Sorry I probably miscalculated the residual then.
Here are the figures that the dealer gave me: MSRP: $51,863; Gross cap: $48,569; Adj. cap cost: $48,277; Residual: $31,717. Is my residual still 60%?
Based on these numbers and terms, is it still $548.10 in your calculation? Also, is it a reasonable deal at $500/month and NY tax of 8.875% paid upfront (not in payment)?
First timer here, glad I found this site! Thanks to everyone for their contributions, I feel more knowledgeable already. It seems like there is a big disparity in prices paid across different states. I'm in Pennsylvania, where (I've been told) car leases are taxed at 10%. Anyhow, this is the offer that I've gotten, which I think sounds way way way too high:
Sorry, posted by mistake. Anyhow, MSRP: 50,659 Rebate ( 700) Preferred customer program (2,459) Selling price 48,200 Services fee 133 Sales tax 1,729,23 License and title fees 133.55 Total purchase price 50,195.78
This was supposedly run with a MF of .0013 but the finance guy told me he might be able to do .0009 with good credit (which I have...and how nice of him to get me down to what I think it was supposed to be in the first place)
For 33 months and 7,500 miles (I want 10,000 but I don't remember those numbers...needless to say they were higher), $625.50 per month with $2,000 due at signing. Am I crazy to think that this is ridiculously high? I ran the numbers myself and it looks to me like my payment with $2,000 down should be in the neighborhood of $550. Am i missing something? And am I realistic in expecting to be able to get the selling price down to a point where I can get to $525-$540? It seems like everyone is paying way less with a higher mileage allowance. Or is it just maybe that living in Pennsylvania contributes to this? I really like the RX350 and I'm okay with paying a fair price for it, I guess I'm just wondering what people here think might be a realistic expectation.

What is the current money factor and depreciation for an RX350? Looking at a $50K model with buy price of $46K and initial quote of around $550 tax rolled in and just tax/tags in NY. Also, are there any other incentives and what is the welcome back certificate (is it transferable?)?
Thanks

2015 Subaru Outback 3.6R / 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige
MSRP $46,894
Residual 27,198.52 (58%)
Initial Cap Cost $42,500 (Selling Price)
Total Fees to Cap $836.19
Cash Cap Reduction $975.84
Tax Rate (Texas 6.25%) 2,656,25
Adjusted Cap Cost $45,016.60
Lease Money Factor .00145
Monthly Lease Payment $599.66
Security Deposit:
Total Annual Fees $33.75
Total Initial Fees $90.75
Customer Cash Down $1700
Some questions:
1. Shouldn't the MF be .00105? This would reduce the payment about $30/mo.
2. Has the residual factor been recently reduced? I thought it was 59% vs 58%
1) .00090 is base MF
2) 58% residual is correct
3) Since it's Texas, I'll guess acq.fee + inventory tax.
4) They used $1700 due at signing with a CAP reduction of $975 to get your payment down to the "magic" $599 (rather than $630 or so). That's your money.. the $975
5) Not sure what the fees are for, but unrelated to a security deposit
6) On some models, some months.. but, I don't see any 1st payment incentives for Lexus this month.

The other $725 goes for first payment and those two fees..

I'm still early in the negotiation phase, but got 12% off the MSRP. I think the $2000 certificate helped you a lot.
I didn't get the upfront info on the residual and MF, but backed into the numbers based on the lease contract:
1. Residual looks to be 68% for 24 month, 15,000 miles/yr.
2. Money factor after 9 security deposits is nominal ($302 in interest over the entire lease term)
3. If I remember correctly, each deposit reduces the MF by 0.0008
4. MSRP was $45,963; adjusted cap cost was $38,659 (after $2000 certificate + $700 lease cash)
5. My $1000 cash at signing went mostly to pay 1st monthly pmt, DMV + sales tax on the lexus incentives. Other miscellaneous fees totaled about $100.
24/15 residual is 68%. Extra miles can be purchased up front for $.20 per - so, deduct $1800 from the calculated residual for 18K miles per year.

They have bad credit but just because they co-signed on a bunch of stuff for family. Is this deal ok?
Might there be more room to negotiate a better selling price?
.00135 is the tier 2 MF for the RX this month, so that isn't being marked up.

First timer so appreciate your help here.

Thanks in advance for your response(s).
