When I lived in Chatsworth CA (far north LA County), I often spotted coyotes and cougars not far from my condo rental as well as on the school campus area up on the hilltops.  When we spotted these critters, we signaled each teacher to keep the kids indoors until the all-clear was sounded.  There were many instances of little children being carried off by these adult critters.  Very scary when we spotted them close by.  

A new problem is that up in Canada (thanks driver100) there has been some interbreeding between Coyotes and wolves resulting in a bigger more aggressive hybrid. This sub species has been wandering south for some years and my be responsible for some incidents.

The Bobcat? I wouldn't go within a mile of one without a shotgun.

End of the nature lecture.

Blame Coywolves on Canada too, along with snow and rainy weather and those tacky Fords we changed into glitzy Meteors. We are a pleasant people who won't get upset, if it helps, blame the Coywolves on us, no problem.



That's the problem, you guys are too friendly. Even the wolves are so friendly they got together with the Coyotes.

You don't need a shotgun for a bobcat, no more than you would for a coyote. I see them around the creeks here and also in the mountains. They avoid humans. And they aren't that big.

Could be a nice slow sunny day cruiser if there's a cheap way to fix blown clearcoat. I don't supose this is a rattle can job. I would never buy a new red car in Florida. Black doesn't fare well either.

Ouch a $228000 Ferrari turned into rubble one hour after picking it up!


He says he wasn't speeding, the road was slick because it was raining. I can believe it, it doesn't take much if it rains and there is oil on the road, and with high performance tires. I have experienced some sliding in the 2WD C250 in Florida.......another reason I prefer AWD, personally.

I remember that Ferrari used to include a driver's course with the purchase, but I think that was only for people who purchased the factory obsoleted road race cars. People driving supercars have to come to grips (no pun intended) with the reality of physics and the limitations of tires.

I remember that Ferrari used to include a driver's course with the purchase, but I think that was only for people who purchased the factory obsoleted road race cars. People driving supercars have to come to grips (no pun intended) with the reality of physics and the limitations of tires.

When someone buys a car like that it should be mandatory to have lessons......whether the person wants them or not. I remember in high school one kid got a new Corvette, he flipped it the first week. He lived and so did his passenger.....who is my friend who had the Maserati and now has an S8! Lucky to be alive.

@jmonroe - The short version of the story is that after the cocktail hour and dinner it was pretty much anything goes and by anything I mean anything.

Slightly longer version is that in the winter months I would occasionally fill in as a valet and the Christmas party was always a well attended affair so I would always ask to be. It was also nice because we also were also able to pass through the kitchen for a good meal once members were served. After dinner one year we cut through the men's locker room on the way back to our posts and all of the lights were turned on, which was odd because it's the dead of winter and no one should be in there. As we were walking through the locker room we all heard unmistakable sounds that are generally only heard behind closed doors coming from the sauna. We stopped, looked at each other for a minute, and started to walk back the other way. I guess we made more noise than we thought because out comes Mr. XXXXX, who I knew very well, wrapped in nothing but a towel with the wife of another member peeking out from behind the tinted door of the sauna. He called out to us to wait a minute and my buddy, who was the head valet, turns and says Mr. XXXXX we didn't see anything and we don't know anything. He nodded his head and we left, when we retrieved his car later that evening he slipped each of us $50. The story made its way around the staff and the next time I worked one of the cooks told me non-monogamous encounters had been happening for years at that event and others but it was done very discretely and this was the first time anyone on staff happened upon something like that. I remember telling him that based on the reaction of Mr. XXXXX I didn't think it was as simple as a wife swap.

After relaying this story and others to my father he said that I shouldn't look at any gratuity from that club as a tip, it was to buy my/our silence.

Really, there should be license endorsements. But nope, the same license I earn in a Corolla can put me in a Veyron or 42' motorhome. But if I want a Vespa 150, I need an endorsement. Logic!

Good points......I guess CRVs never came with a 4.0L engine...that would be a 6 right?
And what is with Zero Incidents and Zero Damage ? Are they the same as "accidents"?
The picture shown was probably another car altogether....wonder what you would end up with, if anything?

Well. The X1 has been officially broken in. Someone nailed it in my wife's parking garage in downtown Seattle - driver side bumper and quarter panel.  On my agenda tomorrow to see if it'll buff out.

If I'm correct in identifying a CR V in the paint's reflection that is a great shine. If it's a Buick then you have to wax it again.

I saw one of these coming at me the other day...going the opposite direction and I thought.....wow, that must be a 2018 Buick. If that is a new Buick they really got it right!


I watched in my rear view mirror and thought....they even got the rear right.....beautiful;


I tried finding 2018 Buicks but there is nothing resembling it, so it must have been a Maserati. If Maserati copied Buick they sure made a massive improvement.

Just what you needed after everything you have been through. 

What a week...  was in Diamond Beach for a week vacation. Had a great time, although the weather was so so for a beach week.   

I think I commented on this in another thread but I swear I've never seen a higher concentration of Tahoes, Yukons and Escalades.  They were everywhere.  My Enclave was dwarfed!  

Somehow between the parking garage and tight parking lots the Enclave made it through unscathed.

Not sure I see Buick there. To me, the Ghibli looks like a smaller Quattroporte, which hasn't changed much since 2003.
