Keeping your weight down gets harder as you age. I'm at a good weight, but that's not the entire problem. As you age, you lose muscle mass so you have to keep moving, keep active.

Age 40-ish is a good time to get control of that!

I thought I was gaining weight because of fat changing to heavier muscles!!!! :@

We got loading/unloading help last night, returned the U-Haul this morning, and we're heading to the storage unit now to sweep it out, return the lock to them and close the account. Then we'll clean up the apartment and grab the rest of our stuff, making little mini-trips back and forth tonight until we get everything, and return the keys to my employer's HR tomorrow morning. I had a picture of myself in a cinnabar T-shirt taken in front of a vintage Oldsmobile convertible painted in cinnabar late last fall. It was at a Columbus orphans show. I started to post it but didn't when I remembered all the grief MR.Driver has taken over his polo shirt picture. I don't think I could take it...

Hey, jmonroe, thanks for the house warming well-wishes. Yes, we're in the honeymoon phase. We are picking out new furniture, selecting cable TV/internet providers, water softener/reverse osmosis providers, etc. We're gonna have a shipload of cleaning tonight at the apartment before we can call it a hard-fought day and drive home to sleep.

    Ahh, sleep. The final frontier!

Happy 42 Bradd and many more! 42 was a great year for me, our daughter was born. She's 16 now, time flies. Tomorrow she will be traveling with her high school band to NYC for a great visit which will include practicing with a professional band, attending a Broadway show, eating at several famous eateries, going to the One World Observatory, etc. I am thrilled for her.

Though I haven't posted in a while I have been following along. Things have been a whirl wind including the announcement that the company I went to work with in February 2017 has announced they are closing our office in the near future leaving about 275 with the need to find new employment. Oh joy. I continue to be amazed that my daughter has little desire to drive even though I want to give her the Accord. And speaking of the Accord I had my first repair, the starter failed at 76k, a $500+ repair. Regardless it is still the most trouble free car I've owned. Best wishes to all.

Come on...don't whimp out on us now. Besides, it might take some of the pressure off me.

Unfortunately, the C250 now has the trickle charger attached, the tires have 2 pounds extra, and the gas tank is full and has STABIL added. We are getting picked up at 9:30 for our trip home tomorrow morning. Otherwise, I would take another picture...in a solid colored shirt!

Nice to hear from you sda. Sorry to hear your job folded after only a little more than a year...that is a tough one....but seems to be the new reality.
I think I had 10 jobs in my illustrious career, got canned from about 4.
I always hated losing jobs...you lose confidence and your job is a big part of your life..it is part of you. Also, it makes it hard for paying bills and stuff.
Hope you find something you like even better.

The Accord served you well....$500 after 76k miles....doesn't get much better than that.

42?  I have two kids in their late 40’s - oh my God - I am at the end of my life span and I don’t/can’t remember where I was or what I did when I was 42 years old.  Wait a minute - it’s coming back to me - ah, yes, when I was 42 years old I used to think what it’s going to be like when I am 73 - BOY WAS I WRONG!  :o

Good grief - just when I thought you were finally in God’s hands regarding work, finances and family.  I am so sorry to hear that you are going to have to job search again.  I know it doesn’t help much, but I’ve been there/done that.  I pray the move from this job to the next job is quick and painless.  My prayers go out to you and your family.  :o

That's pretty rotten of your company to dump you after only a year. Did they give any indication that this was coming? I'm guessing from your other post that you're about 58, a tough time to be job hunting for a professional job. What's your line of work? Maybe the brain trust here could offer advice. I myself have a wealth of information on how to live poor and select Craigslist cars. I'm sure the other guys have advice that might be actually...you know...useful? ;)

Well, I think I am well enough to go out to lunch today with a friend for his birthday - been home 10 days due to the flu.  Luckily, my doctor started me on levoflaxen right away to avoid pneumonia.  Still have a cough and congestion - but much better than last week.

The flu shot I got this year has not been very effective in protecting me - but this too shall pass.
