They asked if I wanted to join in. I wasn't in the mood.
The nurse said he does his best work to the upbeat song.
They didn't use the fentanyl as part of the anesthetic
this time. I was disappointed. I asked before they started
what they use now. I don't remember what they use.
The lady ahead of me had
refused anesthesia and her procedure took longer.
In my opinion, CD players are going to very rapidly go the way of the dodo bird (become extinct). We are already seeing in this in new computers, fewer and fewer are coming equipped with any kind of optical drive. Flash drives are the future, optical drives are history.
We had a voter referendum here in Houston a few years ago, and red light cameras were voted out.
My brother is a prosecutor and has some interesting stories on both photo tickets and "experts." He had one client years ago (he still does private practice where he isn't [prosecuting). DUI. Had the cop on the stand. Asked detailed questions about the breathalyzer. At one point the cop says "I don't know." End of case. My brother didn't feel safe driving in that town for a time. These days he lives there and is prosecutor there and for two other towns.
As far as camera tickets and expert analysis he had a guy who they nailed with the plate number saying they didn't care if he was the driver he was responsible. He then produced an out of state hotel receipt that showed both he and the car were out of state at that time. Case dismissed.
My navigator warns about speed cameras and red light cameras on approach. It's its best feature.

Another thing that has become extinct. Just when I learn how to operate a CD changer and optical drive it gets replaced by a flash drive. Now, I have to learn something new again. We should have a moritorium on new technology for at least 6 years.....give some of us a chance to catch up.

Yes, I was able to mix it with a sugar-free lemonade mix with artificial sweetener. I already took the Ducolax pills (5 in 75 minutes). Already drank 1/2 the 2 liters of Miralax.
Nothing yet! I would imagine in a few hours I will be "Whistling Dixie". I can have a clear chicken broth for dinner.

I think I mentioned before that my son got a parking ticket in the mail from a city almost 100 miles away that he has never visited. I called the court clerk and she was nice enough to check the original ticket and found the cars while both Caddies didn't match in color or year. She dismissed it over the phone but if she had been in a bad mood we might have had to travel or pay a bogus ticket.

Our friend's dog kept wanting to lick the spot on my cheek that was continually open, whether the razor caused it or gentle scratching caused it. A month or two later I went back to the dermatologist .He referred me to a Moh's surgeon after the biopsy came back basil possibly squamous.

One memory I have. Since I couldn't eat the day before I imagined all the great foods I would eat the next day for dinner when the whole thing was over. Caesar salad, steak, baked potato...oh yeh, maybe even go all out and have fries. But, I felt so bloated after I didn't feel like eating anything.

I was envisioning two lobster tails, a baked potato with butter and sour cream and chives, and a great bottle of champagne. For desert - strawberry cheese cake. From what you experienced driver, I may have to wait until Saturday or Sunday.

I just had Moh's last month on a squamous cell on my cheek just under my eye. Amazing process in that the surgeon also reads the slides right in the office. I was there about 3 hours.

There is a procedure now that is 90%+ accurate on cancer detection and about 0% accurate in finding polyps and lesions that could lead to colon cancer. It requires one to send stool samples to a laboratory for DNA testing.

I did go every 6 months for a couple or 3 years after the Mohs. Now I'm on an annual visit or less. I have gotten a skin peel about every 2-3 years to remove actinic keratosis areas. My problem stems from lots of sun while growing up as a teenager driving a tractor on the farm--can I sue John Deere? I also have another risk factor for that left cheek. But doc is satisfied I'm stable and just need light watching. I minimize sun exposure during strongest part of the day during summer.

They will check the strips you can do yourself, you do it and mail it in....glad I am not a postman.
I just read a colonoscopy costs $4000! The pillcam costs $500. It isn't quite as clear, but is good for people who have a fear of the standard procedure.

I seem to remember them costing about $2500 if you paid out of pocket about 5 years ago.
Those figures can be confusing because in the US if you had no insurance ( no longer possible) there was the figure that you were billed and then there was the amount they would accept as payment if you had no insurance. The difference was chalked up as a tax loss or as pro bono service. So a $2500 procedure might actually cost you $1200 out of pocket.
When my wife got sick we received a bill of over $50,000 but they accepted about half that. The only part of the bill that I objected to was the extra 5% tax that the wonderful state of NY accessed on the bill anyone without health insurance to pay the bills of illegal immigrants who were asked to pay nothing.

There was a hail storm in Nebraska last week, hail the size of baseballs - really! Someone sent me pictures of several new car lots and the cars were all dinged up and had broken glass. I can see them fixing the broken glass, but, what do they do about all the dents? Do they fix these cars up and sell them as new?

One article I found said the average for a colonoscopy to be about $1200 and can range to $4000. It all depends on where you have it done. If I go to a place like Mass General Hospital it will be on the higher end. If I decide to use Dr. Jim's Bait Shop and Colonoscopy Center, it will cost a whole lot less.
As for the PillCam - it's $500 but that's for the camera pill. I'm sure there is still a cost for the physician to read to the results and all the related overhead.

On a side note (that never happens here, does it?), GoPro just had one of the most successful IPOs for a tech company in over a decade. Pretty slick little company who really took a very mature industry (cameras), focused on an underserved niche, and become quite successful with it.

Quite an upgrade on the pricing as well. One was on display at Costco a few days ago and the sticker price was over $32 grand.

lol....out of curiosity, what does it cost for a colopnoscopy in the US? Not to start a medicaid thing, but, seriously, here you don't really pay (of course we do via taxes, but not for the actual hospital visit).
They will check the strips you can do yourself, you do it and mail it in....glad I am not a postman.
I just read a colonoscopy costs $4000! The pillcam costs $500. It isn't quite as clear, but is good for people who have a fear of the standard procedure.

Exactly....they start at about $22K, but it seems to be a lot of car for about $32k. Interior is pretty attractive too.....

I seem to remember them costing about $2500 if you paid out of pocket about 5 years ago.
Those figures can be confusing because in the US if you had no insurance ( no longer possible) there was the figure that you were billed and then there was the amount they would accept as payment if you had no insurance. The difference was chalked up as a tax loss or as pro bono service. So a $2500 procedure might actually cost you $1200 out of pocket.
When my wife got sick we received a bill of over $50,000 but they accepted about half that. The only part of the bill that I objected to was the extra 5% tax that the wonderful state of NY accessed on the bill anyone without health insurance to pay the bills of illegal immigrants who were asked to pay nothing.

There was a hail storm in Nebraska last week, hail the size of baseballs - really! Someone sent me pictures of several new car lots and the cars were all dinged up and had broken glass. I can see them fixing the broken glass, but, what do they do about all the dents? Do they fix these cars up and sell them as new?

I guess a lot of people just don't do a colonoscopy if it is going to cost $2500. That's a hard one to call, whether to do it or not. I guess if there is family history it's a good idea. And, $50K for a medical procedure!
Our "free" medicare in Canada has it's problems, but, it is nice to know you won't lose everything because you had a medical problem.

Mustang and Chrysler 200 start at about the same price, $22K The $32K Chrysler has AWD, extra safety, first class navigation system (which you don't want) and some pretty nice new technology. You may actually want to compare first. But, then again, it won't fullfill the dream the way a Mustang would.

One article I found said the average for a colonoscopy to be about $1200 and can range to $4000. It all depends on where you have it done. If I go to a place like Mass General Hospital it will be on the higher end. If I decide to use Dr. Jim's Bait Shop and Colonoscopy Center, it will cost a whole lot less.
As for the PillCam - it's $500 but that's for the camera pill. I'm sure there is still a cost for the physician to read to the results and all the related overhead.

They sell the cars at a steeply discounted price and give the customer an estimate to fix the car. Good for the dealership because the less cars they have to make an insurance claim on, the better.

I cannot tolerate that two-tone steering wheel. I imagine white leather or pleather would get pretty dirty pretty quick on a steering wheel.

On a side note (that never happens here, does it?), GoPro just had one of the most successful IPOs for a tech company in over a decade. Pretty slick little company who really took a very mature industry (cameras), focused on an underserved niche, and become quite successful with it.
