I think the Skyline Chili thing is something you have to be raised on to think is good. I’m with you, just don’t get it. Southwestern or Western chili is what I grew up with so that’s what I prefer. Of course Texas folks swear by their beanless chili but I prefer some beans in mine. Preferably black beans.

Why is it called chili when it's usually prepared hot?

Got to the theater way to early, at the IMAX waiting for toy story 4 to start. I feel a bit slighted as the ticket seller automatically gave me the senior price. :'(

The engine for the 66 Mustang is not a 6-cylinder or 289 V8.
"The standard engine in the Revology Mustang for manual transmission is the Ford GEN 3 5.0 L Ti-VCT “Coyote” DOHC V8, rated at 460HP. The standard engine for automatic transmission in the Revology Mustang is the Ford 5.0L Ti-VCT “Coyote” DOHC V8, rated at 435HP."

Other parts of the vehicle are improved and updated such as brakes.
So you're getting a lot for your $275,000.

Not sure if this was in response to my comment? But my point was I could buy pretty much the best restored original 6-cyl Stang and do the upgrades, including Coyote swap for way less than the price on that “new” one.

Somebody has to pay for repairing the roads. LOL
Did they include a tariff on the EV people who aren't buying gasoline but are still using the roads?
Ohio's increase did the last time I heard. $100 for hybrids and $200 for EV's.

Ours goes up 11 cents; diesel, 19 cents.

Harrisburg put a whipping on us a year ago or so. PA gas tax is over 58 cents a gallon. Even with your new tax, I think we still win that tax battle. Maybe I should say lost that tax battle. While on vacation last week at the OBX in NC when I bought gas it was 2.429 for RUG (2.939 in my hood last night), it felt like I was stealing. It's been a long time since I put gas in a car with a smile on my face.

    Here is what happens;
There is a fire in a major refinery....that causes a shortage of gasoline.
They raise the price because there is a shortage.
Miraculously, people still use the same amount of gasoline, it is just that with the extra profit they can miraculously find enough gasoline for everyone.

Well, you have to consider that there is a cost to bringing fuel from other areas to make up the gap. But yeah, there’s always some gouging.

I like that Bentley. I doubt I would buy one (even if I was willing to pay the price) because I'd have to drive about 40 very difficult miles to get service for it. There are lots of cars that I wouldn't buy, because it is a pain driving for hours to get to a dealer. My MB dealer is the closest dealer to me of any, about 15 minutes. Makes it nice if there is anything that has to be done to it. The indie dealer I will go to when the warranty is over is about 20 minutes away.

If I liked a BMW a lot more, that would be about 35 minutes of hard driving to get to the dealer. I would have to like it a lot more and get a good deal from the closest BMW dealer....which is highly unlikely. They are known for not giving in.

spent the weekend earning dad points. The same way JMonroe has been. Daughter and her BF recently closed on a house, and it needs a lot of stuff. so we got drafted to help get it in shape to move into in a few weeks. Circa 1958, from the original owners (well, the remaining half). Nice little house, solid with good bones, but needed a lot of TLC. Largely due to having cats. Never buy a house from cat people! Man it smelled bad, as he have been tracking down the hidden pee sports. Much baseboard pulling off, ripping up a section of the kitchen floor (wood not supposed to be mushy!) and lots of bleach and natures miracle later, it does not smell nearly as bad. Though the kitchen floor looks kinda rough, missing a bunch of planks. I told her we should just keep going, but she was less than enthused about spending the money. So we will figure that out somehow.

besides the demo, got most of the interior (main bedroom, LR/DR, hall and kitchen) painted, signed up with a guy to refinish the hardwoods and install all new baseboards, had a new range and Fridge delivered, pulled the bathroom vanity and medicine cabinet/light out, and started dropping light fixtures to replace them. and lots and lots of cleaning. We did make a lot of progress in a few days. More odds and ends to finish it. Really just want to get the main stuff done so they can move in, and the pressure to rush through stuff will be off, so they can work on the leftover stuff on their own.

My weekend was spent at mom’s cleaning and painting. Very sore today. Have to go back today to meet the realtor and photographer. We also put in a bid on another house, which was accepted. 3-bed, 2-bath ranch with full finished basement, just 3 miles from my sister. Time to kick things into high gear. So much work still ahead.

    Couple things to catch up...

1:) Ex Cop Car Crown Vics.... IMO one of the most bulletproof transportation devices available. Great winter beaters or car you just don't care about. They run forever, take a beating and you can easily swap in nicer seats from a civilian vic or Grand Marquis. Plus if you buy a white one you'll have the peeling paint option standard.

2:) @stickguy mentioned "Nature's Miracle"... best pet mess (or little kid potty training mess) cleaner there is. Buy it by the gallon on Amazon, must cheaper than at the store

3:) Wedding costs.... I tell everyone to keep it cheap. My wife and I's wedding was over the top and I don't even want to say the total all in. Yes it was amazing and people still talk about it today, but it really hurt financially and only now after nearly 7 years are we back to where we were before it. We had some help but footed nearly 2/3 the cost ourselves.

Nope.....just Bermuda. Got back yesterday. Gotta say, Bermuda ranks right up there with Hawaii as one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.

Son stayed with the hound at my place while I was gone. He even cut the grass for me. Good son. Good dog! Seems like I didn’t miss much!

We absolutely loved Bermuda and how the cruise ship was like our floating hotel for the two nights.

I was talking to the wife and would really like to do that cruise next year with the kids. My son would be six and daughter 4 1/2. She thinks they are still too young, but I think they will be fine.

My coworker took his kids on a Disney Cruise last fall. They were 6 and 3. He said it was amazing, but also said that you should wait until your kids are all over 4, because that way they don't need baby sitting and can go to the kids camp activities without feeling left out.

That's good to know. If we went next summer Gigi will nearly be five (Oct Bday) so that would work out perfect.

I lean toward NCL as that is who we cruised with in the past... I know Disney Cruise is more expensive but maybe worth a splurge if it would mean the kids would enjoy it more. Not sure they offer a Bermuda itinerary or if they go out of NYC.

My barber did that with his girl friend. Am Rhein, IIRC. He was in his early 80s. He died within a couple of months unexpectedly (while at a dance at the German Club). I was so glad for him that he got to go on that trip. His girl friend was a citizen but German heritage and language capable.

They planned a trip to Australia several months after the European river cruise.

Neither kid has ever shown much of an interest in Disney World and given what I have heard family on both sides spend on either cruises or stays at the resort, I'm quite thankful. We are however in the early stages of planning a Hawaii trip for February 2020 so I'm starting to see things add up quickly there. One of the early debates is whether we make it a trip within a trip, that is fly back to the mainland and stay a few days somewhere to break up what is an otherwise brutal flight eastbound flight.

Disneyland was an annual excursion with my family when I was a kid (my folks went not long after it opened, so it had some special meaning to them, as well). I still remember when ride tickets had letters (A through E).

Only took the stepkids there once, when they were 11 and 9. It was a good, not great, experience.

My sister worked for Disney, for a while, and got to go "behind the screen" once - actually got to play a character (Chip or Dale, don't remember which) at Disneyland.

Holy Crap!!! Disney cruise = crazy expensive!! 4 of us in a balcony room in Aug 2020 would be 10,200 plus airfare (no NYC departure) plus daily fees. This would be a nearly 15K vacation.

Travelling with that little rat ain't cheap!

Well gas is going up here in Illinois by 19 cents a gallon at midnight thanks to our friends in Springfield. :@

They won't fix the roads, just give themselves a raise and hire a few more of their cousins and nephews.
So, you've been to our pothole state. Pretty hard to forget. Just remember, "You Have a Friend in Pennsylvania". Oh wait they did away with that phrase on our license plates awhile back. Maybe they were sued for such a STUPID phrase, and to think, we were forced to ride along trying to promote that kwap for years. But we're still poster buddies, right? :o

Talk about the lack of credibility and truth in advertising! :@

OK...I’ve been gone for a few days and I know the software has changed. But, how do you add a pic to your post?

When you figure it out explain it to me....slowly. :'(

OTOH, I can edit again. :p
