The TLX 'es two screens,.along with all that the buttons and knobs looked to be a bit too busy and overwhelming for my personal taste, but.certainly no big deal. I liked the Altimas touchscreen and center stack.
Probably pass on the Civic. Would be interesting though to test drive and see how it compares to the 2012 Civic I leased.
I did test drive my son in laws 2020 Camry SE today. I liked the ride and handling. Comfortable. Interior was nice, but not luxurious. Not as good as the Mazda 6 and TLX, but better than the rest. May see if I can take the Mazda 6 out again.

I just found that one almost at random, but there are several charities that accept old cars as donations. Just a thought.
PS The interior of the base model TLX will be almost the same as the Tech model. As mentioned earlier, vinyl seats instead of leather, but for long-lasting economy and ease of maintenance seats like that are tough to beat. But it looks like Oxmoor has or is about to get a TLX Tech model in the white on white. I still think those look sharp, and the color combo has the advantage of being a little bit cooler when it's hot.
PPS You may have seen that an all-new TLX is due in just a few months. And so if it bothers you to get a car that's about to be phased out, you might want to consider something else.

As stickguy said, go to mysubaru.com and register. There's a lot of good stuff in there. If nothing you care for, no harm, no foul.
You don't talk to your car? Try it. Subaru's have great voice recognition. Just push the voice button, say "navigate to (address)", (such as 123 Main Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania). You may be surprised.
Try Chrome and see if you can get in using your jmonroe password. This is finicky with Edge for some reason; the most used browser on the planet. If and when you are able to get in, go to your profile and change your email address to one you can access.

Definitely try the 6 again, and give it a better workout. It is a nice car and fun to drive. Though the info tech might be a bit outdated (and no touch screen) if it works for you, all that counts.

I still say that’s a $3000 Craigslist car all day. Tell the customers about the tranny and let them decide. When we sold my son’s Mercury with the burnt valve and CEL we had a ton of interest from people who didn’t care. Either they were willing to fix it or they wanted the parts.
Or maybe they didn’t understand enough to care.

Don’t know why, but it seems Ohio (at least the areas around me) seem to want to take the easy way out to generate revenue. They either keep getting slapped with huge fines for using red light cameras (as was the case in one small municipality), or they try to set up cheap and easy ways to do what you say....money grab.
Frankly, I’ve been driving the roads around me for so long, I pretty much know which bridge abutments they like to hang out behind. I know where the pacing planes circle. I know where their cameras are (unless they continue to try to move them in a plain, white panel van on the side of the road, which is itself conspicuous).
It’s a game that it seems has shrinking rewards, so I don’t understand why they keep trying to do it. It doesn’t sound like the money maker they make it out to be, particularly the very hefty fees they have to pay the camera makers.
I don’t find him offensive, and do find him entertaining.
For all intents and purposes, he’s running a little car repair business out of his own garage somewhere in Houston. Given the proliferation of YouTube videos he puts out, he’s not doing much in the way of car repair these days as he’s filming, editing and posting two videos per day.

By the time they go to the back room you know the verdict, I like to hear the thinking process though. Funny when they disagree though.....that means in a real court it may depend on what judge you get.

Haven't seen the base model TLX seats, yet. Probably look at the Accord, then that base TLX. But, no, won't bother me if it gets phased out. 2 of our new car purchases have been phased out, the Mazda MPV and the Hyundai Veracruz and the Mercury Milan and Mariner. So we're us to it.
That is so magnanimous of him - but that's the kind of man he has always been.

You know, that Milan supposedly has these issues but it’s still running fine? Doesn’t that make you think that maybe the dealer either misdiagnosed the problem or was just trying to sell you an expensive repair? Maybe they pulled a code from a bad sensor and assumed it was something major.
My son inherited the PT Cruiser and last October it developed a sequence of Evap codes which no one has been able to isolate. Best guess is that a sensor has a bad wire somewhere and is sending bogus signals that the computer is interpreting as a missing gas cap.

The model closest to the base TLX (msrp c. $34k) is the Accord EXL (msrp c. $31k). When I was cross-shopping those two cars I tried to figure out whether the Acura was worth 3k more to me than the Honda.
You might feel differently, but I like the exterior styling of the TLX better than the Accord, down to the alloy wheels. And after owning 4 Accords I got a little weary of meeting similar Accords at intersections. Anyway, for me the exterior style and better paint job of the TLX is probably worth about a grand.
The Accord's 1.5 turbo is peppy, but the sound isn't as refined as the TLX's 2.4, and the TLX is a bit faster too. The Accord's CVT is good, but I like the shift quality and sound of the TLX's 8-speed DCT with paddle shifters better. So the engine and transmission are worth to me another 1k.
Inside the Acura has nicer seats, nicer carpet, better controls, quieter ride, etc. for another 1k.
Then there's the better suspension, better brakes, better tires, better battery, hydraulic struts for the hood, etc.—1k.
Then something I really like that's standard on the TLX is the precision all-wheel-steering. All wheel steering is a $2000 option on high end Audis, but even cutting that in half I'll say that's worth another 1k over the Accord.
So far that adds up to c. 5k for me, but then it's true that the TLX has less legroom in the back than the Accord, and the TLX also doesn't have remote start, which the Accord has. So that's maybe a c. 1k advantage the Accord has. But that still means that to me the TLX base is "worth" at least 4k more than the comparable Accord.
So I think the TLX is more than worth its higher list price, but with the $6250 incentive that was available when I got my car, and the bigger discount off msrp and better trade-in I got, it turned out that even a TLX Tech had a slight price advantage over an Accord EXL.
