That would put me back north for August. Even if I did that I’d still get hit with two storms in upstate NY this year.

Great movie, been awhile since I have seen it. One scene that sticks in my mind is when they are on a stakeout watching the Continental, and a 61 Galaxie is rolling through the neighborhood, I think driven by some hoodlum types who were prowling cars:

Also the "auto graveyard", which would be a treasure trove now:

Must have been sponsored by Ford.

I rarely watch movies, but earlier this week I rewatched The French Connection (1971) with Gene Hackman and Roy Scheider. Aside from the famous scene with Hackman chasing the subway train under the El, what I enjoyed most were the many street scenes of a very different and very gritty NYC than what exists these days. And of course cars are central to the plot. Just really well-done.

One of the scenes I had forgotten was the scene in a nightclub with this Jimmy Webb song being performed live by The Three Degrees, just very much of the period. In looking it up on YouTube I discovered it was originally recorded by Thelma Houston and was commissioned for the Apollo 11 launch.

Yes, the bunch in the old Galaxie had targeted the Lincoln in an earlier drive past and when it was still there in the middle of the night they stopped to strip it. Picked the wrong car in the wrong place as a dozen cops appeared out of the dark to arrest them.

Stopped to get a couple of gallons for the generator, just in case, and some of the pumps were already empty.
Might have to experiment running 2 fridges at the same time off the generator, just spent $100 on a case of beer a couple of days ago.
Also, got my check for the unused balance of my extended warranty today, about 3/4's of it.

Has anyone used a small cooler/warmer that is for the car. I'd like
to have one that would keep insulin in the 36-45 degree F range
dependably while traveling, and be able to run on 12 V in the
car and on 110V in motel room.

I see all kinds on Amazon but the data on the machines is poorly
    written, probably intentionally.

I'm assuming that's a losing streak, since it's the Orioles?

We liked Camden. Went in 2019, and they were playing the Red Sox. Literally, 100F that day, though. The only beer my wife liked in the stadium was on the ground level, and we were in the club seats, so I got a long walk, every two innings. She is normally two beers max, but drank four that day (Dogfish Head Sea Quench).

My wife went to the grocery store this morning, said a lot of stuff was picked over.
I only bought gas to use the in generator, if needed, otherwise it's going in the lawn mower.
Regarding the pic, nice mileage for an old dinosaur ICE engine.

25 East Coast Private Colleges whose Grads earn the most Money.

Someone shared this list from US News and World Report of the average highest starting salaries for graduates of the top 25 private colleges and universities on the East Coast. The results are unsurprising except I would have expected that they were STEM graduates; but not necessarily. How this corelates to tuition, I don't know, but I would have expected a close relationship between high tuition and outcomes. In short, it pays to get into a top college even if one has to cheat (just kidding :p )

I'll bet you good money that those high salaries were not the result of being in a top college and high tuition but being in a connected family.

I know engineering degree people who are doing well too who graduated from run of the mill state universities. It's the ones that make 150% or more than the average graduate that come from connected families. I can give well known examples but then we will be getting into forbidden territory.

Speaking of the Club Sport, I submitted it to the Powers that Be for consideration as an entry in the Legends of the Autobahn East- an event held on the Saturday prior to the Hilton Head Island Concours d'Elegance. Only 50 BMWs will be accepted and there are currently 62 applications. Funny thing, another couple we know applied- and they own an Identical Club Sport- including the lack of a hole in the roof- and they are also the original owners...

Finally, we met another couple for lunch today. It turns out the husband flipped his E46 M3 for a Hockenheim M2 Competition.
    I hate him.

Yeah, but did he get exactly what he wanted, or did he have to settle?

He's not as picky as me; but his car ticks all my boxes- Hockenheim Silver, manual, the Exec Package, and no hole in the roof.

Yep, it’s all relative. One thing I never did was buy beer at a ball park. Cokes and weiners were bad enough. I could only be taken advantage of so far.

You mean to tell us ….that you were watching Pirates games … sober?

You, sir, are a brave man.
I haven’t gone to a Pirates game for almost 20 years. I find it excruciating to even watch them on TV. I can’t tell you the last time I actually did that. Surely never for 9 innings.

What is the date for the event?

    @Michaell That is a great blue color. You don't see green too much these days....I'd consider this green color;

I like that green a lot. Sometimes though colors look great in pictures but not in person.

I can take or leave Jay Leno's Garage, but this segment with the CT5 Blackwing has some really interesting discussion with Tony Roma, the Chief Engineer for Cadillac.
