@driver100, Will you be able to run a drain hose? 6+ gallons of water is a lot to lift to empty the bucket.
Yes, that was a must. We wanted a drainage hole and a timer. There is an open staircase so it is best if it runs when we aren't around. It has to sit for 24 hours upright before we turn it on, so that the oil settles in the right places.
Got gas this morning - $4.50 for PUG. Checked price this evening at same gas station - $4.62 for PUG. Costco went up 8 cents a gallon since this morning’s price. This is definitely getting expensive.
@driver100, Mine is in the basement and I never hear it unless I'm down there when it's running. I never turn it off.
We will do the same if it is quiet enough. But, we have an open staircase so it would have to be pretty quiet not to hear it.....we can hear the furnace but got used to that. An open staircase has advantages and disadvantages...the advantage is a more open feeling. I don't want to finish the basement because then relatives or other people may want to stay over.

Perfectly understandable. You don’t want a dehumidifier rattling away under the stairs or visiting Edmunds buddies rattling away in the basement when you’re entertaining Megan and Harry.

Here is the thing, with inflation prices go up and so wouldn't profits if the profit margin stays the same. So basically if we would adjust the profits for inflation how would the stack against historical profits?

RUG here is getting to be $4.60. Good thing we are starting to get better weather here and I can use the bike, much better MPG on that thing. That being said I have used up the inexpensive gas I got last fall when I filled her up.

Anything that is traded on the commodity exchange is subject to big price swings either way when the sharpies start trying to manipulate prices. It will go up quickly, then fall off a cliff eventually.

I’ve never seen an unfinished basement without a door. Do you live in a split level?

Don’t they have doors in Canada?
I never heard of or saw an open staircase to a basement. I guess you could say I have one to the second floor but that’s pretty much standard architecture where I come from.

The open staircase has to happen in design phase. I've seen plenty of new houses where they haven't yet finished the lower level, other than finishing the walls and carpet in the open staircase.

Today I was behind a SUV in the right lane of a two lane ramp leading to a split between two interstates. Normally you would expect cars to be in the right lane to go onto one interstate and the left lane to merge onto the other.
This SUV stayed in the right lane almost to the split and then slowly drifted two lanes to the left without signaling. Why do people drive with no perception of traffic they are blocking or those they may be drifting into?

I liked the Bosch detective series that ran on Prime for several years. It came to an end a while ago but now they have rebooted it with Bosch: Legacy, where Harry has left the LAPD and has struck out on his own as a P.I. while his daughter has enlisted in the LAPD as a "boot" (new recruit). I decided to give it a try last night and ended up watching all of the first 4 episodes that have been released so far. It is every bit as good as the previous series. One of the few TV shows I will recommend.
OF, worked yesterday & today as they needed an extra body. Yesterday was 9 to 3 and today, 9 to 2. Can't really complain about those hours even though we had to report to a branch a bit farther away. I wouldn't mind picking up either one of those days so we'll see what happens. We had to stop by the Toyota store where I used to work both days but yesterday saw a couple co-workers and they asked why I left & when am I coming back. Doubt I'd ever go back at this point as it wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. Like not having to deal with the general public honestly as they can be a handful...I just would rather not deal with them anymore.

We live in a one story home...might be called ranch style. The house was built about 14 years ago, it is very open....a door to the basement would close the basement off and make the house seem less open.
We could easily finish the basement, but we don't use it and I prefer it unfinished...like I say, discourages guests

The house I grew up in had an open staircase to the basement. It was off the back of the kitchen with a few steps down to the side door of the house then a 90 degree turn to go into the basement. No door between the kitchen and the basement.

Imagine how high the gas prices will be when we quit taking 1,000,000 gal/day from the strategic petroleum reserves after November and have to start putting oil back into the reserves to replace what was taken out over 180 days.

We have a transplant from the Florida operation who says he loved dealing with the public down there because he got tips from tourists. He disapproves of just about every thing and every body up here. Maybe that’s why everybody dreads working with him.
