I like the beige interior, but not so much the right hand drive.
There is a story behind the right hand drive vehicles. I believe it has something to with mounting horses on the left and soldiers drawing their swords from the right in battle. The tradition carried over to cars and is very logical. Even in the Virgin Islands their cars are right hand drive and they drive on the left.

I heard a similar story, last week. Castle staircases all go clockwise, headed up, because left-handedness was very rare, and marauders would have to switch their swords to their left hands going up, while the defenders at the top were free to swing with their right hands. (take that with a grain of salt, but it was a professional tour guide that imparted that wisdom).

I have no firsthand experience with these but I have seen a number of new vehicles with front seat cushion bolsters like these, where the bolsters on the side closest to the center tunnel are narrowed in order to provide a wider console. Is there a comfort penalty with those? Looks strange.

I think that's just an optical illusion. You are looking down on the center, so they seem narrower than those on the outside that you seeing at an angle.

This is not really my area of expertise, but I think you’re mistaken in this case. The photographer was obviously using a very wide angle camera lens, he had to be in order to get that picture from inside the car. And a very wide angle lens makes things closer look bigger than they are, in this picture look at the lid of the console storage box. The closest look, at the bottom of the picture, looks to be larger than at the front of that console lid. I suspect that is an optical illusion, created by the wide angle lens. Looking at the passenger seat (left side of the photo), the outside bolster does seem to get a little wider towards the bottom of the picture, but it isn’t nearly as noticeable as the console lid.
I just don’t believe the inherent distortion created by the wide angle lens can account for the apparent difference that we’re seeing in the outside and inside seat bolsters.
And for the record, I really hate wide consoles that steal thigh room.
@ab348 Talking about seat bolsters once we were looking at Audi SR4s, and MrsD100 said she would never buy a car where you have to slide your rear up and over the bolsters to be able to sit down. A regular A4 is fine...but that requires quite a lift-off to get into these seats. I looked at several pictures of the Crown and it sure does appear to have narrower bolsters next to the console. I think they thought that through carefully, you can't sit too far over to where the door is anyway...there are arm rests and controls on the door side of the seat....being wide doesn't take away much seating area.
That X5 probably had the base seats. BMW sport or comfort seats will have adjustable thigh support where the bottom cushion can be extended. The only domestic car seats I’ve found comfortable are the Ford and GM Recaros as well as the SRT seats in the Challenger. The Wrangler buckets are also comfortable and aggressive side bolsters aren’t necessary in that application.

We are moving across states about 600 miles. Picking a mover is not easy. I've been letting my wife take the lead on it. She was pretty much set on one mover because they had a dedicated truck from A to B(3 days) until see saw they wanted $800 for 20K in damage replacement. Now we are looking at a company that doesn't have a dedicated truck but is $300 for 75K of damage replacement but delivery is between 2 and 10 days. Our estimates have been between 9.5K and 14.5K.

Cornhole is a fun game. I made my own boards when we were in the campground. It’s very much a game best played with beer present.
@ab348, I'm not sure why the insurance thing changed everything. The guy did say I'm pretty sure everything will fit but you might have to rent a UHaul if we can't fit everything on the truck. I'm willing to do that.

Do you really want to try to get in and out of these every time you go for a drive? Not great seats for delivering pizzas.
They are definitely not geezer friendly.
They don't seem very human friendly actually. Very hard to slide in and out;
You honestly don't know that Recaro builds more than one type of seat, depending on whether it's for an OEM, the aftermarket, or for racing? Seriously?

Cornhole is usually played on a board with only one hole while the more sophisticated Holyboard has three and in one version is played with large washers instead of beanbags.

Oh boy, not my area of expertise, we can't all know everything about every topic. I probably know more about tennis and pickleball than I do about Ricardo seats. Maybe more than some people who know everything there is to know about cars. I do know this...the R/S 4 we looked at had Ricardo seats and they had bolsters that I would get tired of very quickly.....taking into account the number of times I actually need the bolsters.

Renewed the SiriusXM radios in both cars. I used the chat "feature." Earlier I had seen a "cancel" link, but couldn't find it this visit to try it to see if that would cause a popup offer to renew. No popups for renewal or special offers showed for me. So I went to chat. I had the telephone because I have some hearing loss and understanding some agents is really difficult.
This was the best of all renewal interactions. The agent was very clear. No resistance to renewing the $60/12 mo plan(s).
My Brave browser did crash because I turned off the protection from popups when agent was ready to have me give a new credit car info box. Brave sometimes blocks those.
I'm using more and more downloaded music on CD's in both cars, so I could do without XM even better than before. I'd miss checking on national news channels and would miss SoulTown and YachtRock channels.
