I am looking for replacement tires for my 2021 Genesis G90. The sizes are:
245/45 R19 95V front 275/40 R19 101V rear
I checked out Continental (OEM) and they were over $1500 out the door.
Next, I checked out Goodyear and they were $1295 out the door.
Finally, I checked out Michelin Primacy MXM4 and they ended up at $1392 out the door at Costco. They have a $150 rebate this month on any 4 Michelin tires. Also, all their installed tires have a 5 year road hazard warranty which the other 2 brands at tire dealerships did not.
So I decided on Michelin. The tire sizes are rare and difficult to get. Costco had to order them from 2 different plants due to lack of availability. 5-10 days is the time frame.
I prefer Michelins and I did not like the Continentals.

I just purchased new tires for the Maserati. 245/40/19 front and 275/35/19 rear. I'm always adventurous when it comes to tires. As long as the reviews and ratings are good, I have no problem taking a chance. So I found Fortune Viento tires for $553 for the whole set delivered. No idea when I'll get around to putting them on.

The dealer had put new Continental ContisportContact 5 run flats on my C43. When they wear out I'm going with either the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus or the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4.

Ford dealer had a Mach I In the showroom. 66k or so. Sadly an automatic.
Big tires. Michelin pilot sport cup2s I think. Basically bald. I’m surprised they are even street legal.
No ADM? The last Mach 1 I saw in a dealer showroom topped out at just shy of $100K with all the extra markups. I hope to heaven no one fell for that and it’s still sitting there.

I did not see a side sticker, but it did have a SOLD tag hanging from the mirror so maybe they took it off. Or it was a customer order they decided to put in the showroom.
While I was at the dealer I got a ride in a Mustang Mach E. Bright blue GT. I don't think I have ever been in a car that accelerated that hard. The salesguy brought me back from dropping off the rental at Hertz since our delivery had a hold up, and he seemed to have one speed on the throttle (full mash). it went to 60 very quickly, and slammed me into the seat. It felt (and the sense of acceleration) like being launched.
probably the only car I have ridden in that quick was my BILs 427 Cobra. But that had to contend with wheelspin, so probably would lose a drag race (at least a short one!)
weirdest part though, no roaring engine. just an electric motor whir.
also had the biggest center screen I have ever seen. I think it was bigger than the TV in my bedroom. Ginormous.
I've driven the Mach-E GT @breld has in his stable (belongs to the missus, actually). And, I agree with you that it's scary fast. I tried one full throttle pass and backed out after only a few seconds.
Overall, a very nice car - I prefer it over the Tesla.

"Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus or the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4." These are also the two contenders for the A7 and/or M240, when the time comes. I'm not sure if Costco/BJs deals with Contis, though. And, I am leaning to the DWS06, from Tire Rack reviews/ratings.

For $97 more good move buying the Michelins over the Goodyears.....no doubt about it. And no question the Michelins are a bargain at $100 less than the Continentals.
About 4 years ago the C250 had Continentals replaced with Michelin Pilots....no comparison, the Michelins are much better.
@abacomike Good choice on the Michelins. I've always had good luck with them. I've used them since they were labelled as Sears Roadhandlers with inner tubes inside.

I saw this on a Consumer Segment on TV News; An Ontario couple says they've been hit with unexpected costs after their new electric vehicle's ability to sustain a charge is 'nowhere near' what was advertised.
"My wife took a job up in Barrie, Ont., and she has to commute 60 miles each way and we were paying over $1,000 in gas," Jack Fleming, of Etobicoke, Ont., told CTV News Toronto Monday.
Fleming said before buying an all-electric Volvo C40 Recharge, he checked the vehicle’s range, which was advertised as 250 miles on a full charge.
"Even if it didn't hit that if it hit 180 miles or 150 miles, we just need enough to drive 60 miles (120 miles round trip) with a bit of a safety margin, so she doesn’t have to worry she won’t make it home,” Fleming explained. Fleming says he made the $72,000 purchase in November and that it wasn’t long after that he and his wife became concerned about the distance the car was travelling on each charge.
“We are only getting about 130 miles per charge – nowhere near what they’re advertising,” Fleming said. “That's like 60 per cent of what they are advertising.”

Volvo says they are working on making the range longer and faster charging! Range anxiety is a big problem, and it seems....with good reason!
Range is affected by weather (what? it gets cold in Canada? I'm shocked!). And, if the driver uses features like heated seats, that also drains the battery.
Perhaps more research was needed before making the purchase - there are lots of forums on the interwebs with posts from owners about actual range, not the "claimed" range from the manufacturer.
Getting this conversation back on topic (ceiling fans!), here is invaluable info for @stickguy when he finally breaks open the vault to make a purchase:

All true.......but we are fairly knowledgeable car people, not your average gullible consumer who believes what the car companies say. A lot of people think they are doing the right thing and saving the planet, but they don't have a clue about how to investigate before spending $72000.
The interest in EV cars is waning, unless they come up with a solution to range anxiety, and actual range.
btw....not just cold weather will drain the battery, how about a 2 or 3 hour traffic delay, which can happen anywhere?

we do want one without a light kit since we have no need for that (the room has recessed lighting already).

Yep, hooking up a fan only unit greatly simplifies the installation for most home owners because there is only a black, white and green wire on the fan. The fun starts when a blue or purple or some other colored wire is supplied for the fan or the light as specified in the instructions. It’s amazing how one teenzy extra wire throws the average home owner for a loop when trying to connect this additional wire. Almost as much as when they try to replace a 3-way switch.

I have read that the average electric car mileage is over estimated by about 12%.
The miles on the Passat are going to increase significantly starting tomorrow as I have accepted a different role and promotion. I have worked at this location before, it is huge. It was this commute of 44 miles each way that piled the miles on my 13 Accord. At least, for now, it is a hybrid rotating schedule where I work from the office 5 days M-F and the following week from home. The commute was almost a deal breaker but opportunities at my age are becoming harder to make happen. Age discrimination at age 64, nah.

Congratulations. You are right that age discrimination is a thing for executive positions but for lower level jobs employers are starting to learn that older workers can be a good investment. They show up on time and usually have a better work ethic and are honest in most cases. When balanced with lesser ability to do hard physical labor and the tendency to retire or develop health problems older workers may be preferred.
I know that at several stores where I shop there are an increasing number of employees my age on duty.

People who live in areas of salted roads and streets should get under care washes at least once a week. Same for dusty or muddy areas. I have not come across car washes that offer that service.

Almost every automated car wash here in Colorado has the option for an undercarriage spray, to remove dirt or snow removal chemicals that may accumulate on the bottom of your car.
the touchless carwash I found near me has that. I used it a couple of times last year. hopefully it was worthwhile. The wash itself, was pretty poor but I refuse to go through a carwash with anything that touches the car.
The automatic car wash we use has everything from Mercedes, Porsche, Jag, Land Rover, Bentley going through it. They hand dry, with particular attention to wiping down the wheels. Never seen a scratch in 15+ years.

———————————————— There are a lot of folks that have that attitude.
Now, when I wash my cars I put my hands all over it yet I’ve never caused a scratch but with my buffers I’ve removed a few. The first time I wash a car after bringing it home (new or used) is when the car and I get our biggest workout.
Like I’ve said before…if you REALLY want to know your car up front and personal, give it a detail job yourself.

Pretty sure he gave me permission to fat finger a bid on a Porsche (I hear that is a popular thing these days), but I need to figure out how to craft that message to the wife.
I did plant the seed after putting the new truck in the garage finally, and mentioning that since we have the white and blue, just need a red car to be ready for the 4th of July!

Perhaps more research was needed before making the purchase - there are lots of forums on the interwebs with posts from owners about actual range, not the "claimed" range from the manufacturer.

The interest in EV cars is waning, unless they come up with a solution to range anxiety, and actual range.
btw....not just cold weather will drain the battery, how about a 2 or 3 hour traffic delay, which can happen anywhere?

Good luck with making a choice @stickguy.
That info will convince you that your idea of a window box is the way to go.
FWIW, I’ll bet they are all connected the same way.

we do want one without a light kit since we have no need for that (the room has recessed lighting already).

If that’s all it was I think more folks would buy EV’s.

Congrats! I like the idea of every other week. Seems easier to manage that the 2 or 3 day thing.

It isn't something I would buy....I sometimes get an undercarriage wash...once or twice a year.

There are a lot of folks that have that attitude.

I did plant the seed after putting the new truck in the garage finally, and mentioning that since we have the white and blue, just need a red car to be ready for the 4th of July!
