    Everybody lies.

Cops lie. Lawyers lie. Witnesses lie. The victims lie.

A trial is a contest of lies. And everybody in the courtroom knows this. The judge knows this. Even the jury knows this. They come into the building knowing they will be lied to. They take their seats in the box and agree to be lied to.

The trick if you are sitting at the defense table is to be patient. To wait. Not for any lie. But for the one you can grab onto and forge like hot iron into a sharpened blade. You then use that blade to rip the case open and spill its guts out on the floor.

That’s my job, to forge the blade. To sharpen it. To use it without mercy or conscience. To be the truth in a place where everybody lies.

I don't get lying, I know I'm just not very good at it. I don't even try anymore because I just feel so guilty that I come clean right away. Was never very good at it but must admit, my twin had it down to a science! I just know that in our last year of high school, a bunch of lies he told our family came back to haunt him and the rest of the family in a big way. And unfortunately, I ended up being dragged into the whole thing because I just couldn't lie for him!

I hate lying because you have to keep track of what you told to who. Once you are caught in a lie, all your credibility has been lost.
I like and follow the saying, "Let the chips fall where they may". I'd rather tell the truth and whatever happens happens...it is way better than being caught in a lie!

Cut the grass tonight; it's much more enjoyable since I bought the Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds; now I listen to the Missed Apex F1 podcast and time flies by. The rest of the week is set aside to prepping the Club Sport for Cars in the Commons on Saturday. I think I will get it whipped into shape.
After that things get hectic; in the final six months of my term I have two double murder cases (one is really bad), two fentanyl /meth trafficking cases, a human trafficking case and a self-proclaimed SJW who wants to represent himself (he's already racked up 697 days for contempt). The Chinese curse "May you live in interesting times." is in full effect.

@oldfarmer50 A few people around here won't appreciate that news!

brtw....there are under 70000 charging stations in the U.S. now. By 2030, the US Will Need 28 million EV Charging Ports to Support 33 million EVs.

They better get crackin on building those charging stations. Since they are all going to use the Tesla system some people may find their EVs will become the Betamax's of the auto world.

Once they build all these millions of charging ports, then they need to find electricity to run them, all along with all these AI and cloud storage farms. Yeah, it all adds up to 2035 ICE vehicles new registration ban really well...

Danny is a liar and Dennis catches a lot of these guys in lies. Danny didn't test the oil in his car...he took in fresh oil. Some people have good radar for finding liars and cheaters...Judge Judy is one of the best.
From that letter I’d say Danny is a liar. There are more of them out there than you’d like to think. Just get into an accident with no dash cam evidence.
Yes, it seems indecent liars and people cause 10:1 the wrecks out there. And then when your on the other side of it; the scumbuckets claim injury from being barely tapped in the back.

    Random thoughts:
    I'm self-subsidizing as I'm still filling 3 cars totaling 2.75 gas tanks.
No arguments against the evils of child/slave labor, but as I'm sure you know, it's not just for battery elements.
I'm no expert, but batteries are already being repurposed, one use I've heard of is as battery arrays to power charging stations!
Lamentably, many things aren't selling like hotcakes (maybe even hotcakes?) these days, e.g. sedans and wagons (unless, of course, you subscribe to the theory that many SUV/CUV/SAV/insert more marketing gibberish here, are modified wagons). Which doesn't negate their usefulness or desirability to those that want and understand the benefits of owning said.

Agree with you that YMMV; it's your $, spend it as you see fit. Or, if you're like me, as your wife sees fit!

You cleverly gloss over the diabolical complexity of charging a PHEV. Some here would need to hire a guy to do it as the procedure is entirely beyond their skill set.
Well, to be fair, there were a couple of States that wouldn't let you self-serve and fill your own gas tank? Full-Serve was always a joke to me.

I remember my daughter telling about the first time away at college after we left her car that she needed gas. Had to load up all her new friends to take with her to show her how to do it.

My wife probably has not touched a gas pump in 40 years. If she didn’t have me she probably just wouldn’t drive.

We got lucky here. Monroe county and Bloomington are a disaster area after storms yesterday. We still have power and no trees down. There are 50,000 without power.

Hospital canceled non emergency cases due to high humidity contamination of instruments that will need to be re-sterilized - wouldn’t you think that would be an area covered by HVAC when the generators kick in? The lack of planning is astounding as this is the second time this same thing has happened.

There are less than 200,000 gas stations in the US, and the number is declining. Charging g stations are quickly catching up. Many gas stations now have charging ports too.
Not clear which charger will win, but it will take awhile to shake out. Tesla just fired their entire charger placement team, so nobody knows if more will be built. There are also things called adapters . . .
28 million is a hilarious number. Between home charging and public stations EVs will get along just fine.
And just to note — there are still large stretches in the US where gas stations are in very short supply. Hasn’t stopped people from driving ICE vehicles or making road trips through those areas.

what a mess. so the offer is a trade $ bonus? So you have to swap out for another Audi, instead of them just buying it back? Assuming you even want another one at this point, if they offer enough incentive it could be worth it. I would much rather have all my money back and switch brands, but your wife likes it, so the trade might be the way to go.

But if you still want a Q7, can't they skip all the nonsense and just give you a new one instead? Won't even have to call it a buyback.

Trade plus trade assistance cash or cash and keep ($11k) - how do you trade it with dash lights??

Verbally said they would buy it back and now are back tracking.

Prefer buyback as I’m not sold on the brand and obvious service issues.

Prefer no VWGoA - VW, Audi or Porsche at this point with crappy service and dishonesty

I feel terrible for you. I feel like you have given the dealer & Corporate every single shot to make things right and fix your vehicle. I hate to say it, but it might be time to hire a lemon law attorney.

Thinking outside the Legal box and within the confines of our CCBA board. The trade assistance cash comes from corporate? You can use the trade assistance towards any VW / Audi / Porsche product?

Looking at the information provided I would think that this was a used car purchase, if that's the case most, if not all, state lemon laws won't cover it. You would need to look at the warrantees that the car came with to see what your options are.

Bought in Iowa and their lemon law does not distinguish between new and used. Safety system faults reported before 24 months and 24,000 miles and Audi has been unable to fix it despite 6+ attempts and Audi regional field engineer involvement. Last attempt out of service for 10 weeks and unsuccessful.

At the very least it is a Magnuson Moss nonconformity issue.

We briefly thought of that. But didn't work with the ultimate goal of moving north. But we were not looking on the island, more like something out in CM courthouse. I knew some people from when I worked in Philly that lived in town (NE mostly) that instead of buying a bigger house in the burbs, bought a place at the shore and kept the small city place

Wife was complaining today that the kitchen (that she has not actually seen done, or actually used of course) was too small. After a comment about actually kinda liking our current house. So some serious buyers remorse before buying! I told her it was bigger than she realizes but as usual, she does not believe anything I say.

one problem with an open concept layout (dining table in between the kitchen and family room) is when you see it empty, you only see the kitchen which looks tiny relative to the length of the room. But once you put the family room furniture in, and the kitchen table, it should look a lot better balanced. At least I hope so, but I already suspect we will be back at the kitchen place next month pricing out additional cabinets (which IMO no way we need).

I put the odds at 50/50 it is on the market by next spring. Fine by me, I don't mind moving! I just hope that, as I suspect, once it is done we will have a decent equity stake.

Call up HGTV and pitch a heavily scripted series about Chronic House Sellers with commitment issues. I can’t believe what I’m reading.

It's just a house. don't like it, get another one! same as a car.

not likely to happen, but never say never. I didn't expect to be moving this soon, but not completely surprised.

Our good friends here in WW also have an amazing home in Court house. They keep wanting us to buy near them… problem I have is 1: giving up 2.75% and then 2: the schools just aren’t as good.

If we ended up in WW full time we would go private school most likely.
