Sounds like a heart healthy diet. NOT!! But delicious
    .

I sat at their counter and ordered a side of fried Kreplach and sauteed onions with mushroom, a diet cola and a lean pastrami on rye. First the waitress brought out the pickles and coleslaw.

Yeh, I am wondering if that meal comes with a free cardiovascular check up afterwards...it should for $25 bucks!

I'm always wary of any promise of "big money" anyone who plays on the edge of legality is probably not one you would trust to pay your commission.

On the other hand I found an ad for car dealer transporter in Tampa but the pay was only $8.05/hr.

Not sure it would be worth getting out of bed.

Good grief - it never seems to end for GM. The brand new Malibu, which the Chevrolet Division just debuted with loads of excellent TV ads and print media, has come under scrutiny for some questionable welds in the rear side airbag assembly.  So Chevy just issued a recall on them.  They've only been on sale for several months.

The Impala and now the new Malibu are really sharp looking cars - probably the best looking cars in their segments.  The technology is outstanding.

These welds supposedly can become brittle and cause potential injuries if and when the airbags are deployed.  I think it's time GM caught a break.  The company has done a complete turn-around in these past several years in all their divisions.  They are producing some of the best cars in this country - Cadillac, Buick, Chevrolet, GMC.

I'd like to see this company in the news for their quality and styling - not for a robotic welder error on an airbag assembly.

$8.05 an hour! The good news is the cost of living in Florida has to be one of the lowest in the US. You can buy a pretty nice home for under $250k, and day to day expenses are about the lowest like property tax, no state tax, and you don't need to buy winter clothes!

I have an allergy to cat hair so cats have not, are not and will not be part of my life.  I truly miss having my own dog.  They give and receive unconditional love, affection and appreciation - they are true companions.  The most unfortunate aspect of living with a dog is that their lifespan is so very short.  The loss is tragic when you have to put them down when their organs begin to fail.

The dog I grew up with had to be euthanized at 12 years old.  The loss still affects me at times when I think of the happiness she gave me in my teens.  When I got angry at someone or something, she was there.  When I cried, she was there.  When I was sick or injured, she would never leave my bed.  She was a Godsend!  :'(

Dogs like sniffy things, so no problem! Here's my rescue.

    Suydam,

Nice dog but I'm partial because it brings back memories of Son #1's dog. If your dog didn't any of the white on him/her it would be a dead ringer for my Sons dog. He had a male and he was 65 pounds, your dog looks a tad smaller. Last year my Son had to have his dog put down because of cancer somewhere (I can't remember now). But all things considered his dog lived a great life and lived to be 15 years old. He got him as a puppy about 2 months after he was married when he bought his first house. He got him from the Animal Rescue League in Pittsburgh.

Needless to say having 3 Sons, his house after he had the dog put down, was one tearful place for his boys. They didn't know what life was without that dog. Even the neighborhood misses that dog.

Yes, they do become a part of the family and the neighborhood.

My private adoption rescue doggie is the cute guy on the green background in my avatar. if I copied it right, here is a cute picture of him.

sadly, he seemed to take a turn for the worse today (we were travelling for the weekend, and the dog sitter called concerned). definitely went downhill since Friday when we left. I have a bad feeling that something internal finally got bad enough to tip the scales, and that tomorrow could possibly be a very hard day.

I guess I'm never going to get that driving throw-away Hyundai's. Even if it is a wannabe luxo. :disappointed:

    jmonroe

Down here, I see tons of Genesis Sedans. There are great benefits to buying one of those - luxury and convenience in the price range of an average, every-day vehicle. Great warranty and superb comfort. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a Genesis owner and lover. Quite frankly, I am definitely going to look at a Genesis very carefully the next time I get an urge to buy a car. From what I have been reading, Hyundai is changing it's identification/designation of their luxury vehicles. I believe, IIRC, they will be called G90's, G80's and G70's, or something like that. The Equus would be a G90, Genesis Sedan a G80, or something similar.

Down here, there are 10-15 Hyundai dealerships so the competition is very keen. I've been 2016 Genesis Sedans advertised for $38,500. For what you get for that price, it's a real bargain.

JM, how does it handle on the highway - smooth, harsh, sporty, mushy? I have to believe they ride and drive similar to a Lincoln. What say you? ;)
    Mike,

Yes, I know, there are tons of them in South Florida but not that many up here in the Burgh area. My SIL that lives in Delray Beach got her first Genny in '09 after Son #1 gave her a test drive in my '09 in July of '09 when they came back to the Burgh area for a visit. She said she really liked it (was getting out of the '06 Lincoln Town Car that was her car). When she said she like it I thought she was just be nice. But a month later she got her '09. Then she got an '11 because she got one of those cards in the male that said her car was worth a good bit to the dealer for his lot. Then she got another card in '13 so she got another Genny. That makes 3 for her so far and she said she will probably get a '16 when her lease is up. I guess she was serious about liking them.

I'm pretty sure that $38,500 is for a 6 cylinder that has only front wheel drive and probably not too much in the way of upgrade packages. Up here a dealer told me that the only 6's they will buy is the AWD version so I think with that version and the packages that they have up here on them you can add at least 3 grand to the $38,500 and that would be for a pretty much base model with AWD. I've seen the 6's up here going for 42, 43 and 44. I have a '15 V8 (strangely the V8 only comes with RWD) with the Ultimate package and every option made for that car and I went to Fairfax VA to get it for just under $47K without taxes, plates etc. Nobody around here could even come close to that price AND they didn't have the color I wanted ergo the trip to VA.

As for the name change for the future Genny's I heard the same thing that you mentioned. The handling is fine for me but I'm not looking for the most nimble car on the road but by selecting the Sport mode it does handle differently and the V8 can easily get away from you until you get the hang of it. However, I think I have that pretty much mastered now.

I'd be totally shocked if you bought one but maybe you should give it a try just to prove it to yourself that only a MB will satisfy you. A V8 down your way with flat roads is not necessary but up here in hilly Southwestern PA, l wouldn't even think of getting a 6 but the very few I have seen up here are 6's.

Dogs are such a part of families and these pictures are great. Stick, maybe it will turn around, but I'm sure you'll do what's best no matter how hard that is.

I think cats get a bad rap. They are often more cautious initially, but over time they can get to be good pets too. Dogs, cats - love them all. But like people, the end can be so hard, but the memories are forever.

Funny that you ask; I really like it, but it's so unlike "my" prior BMWs that it is taking me a while to become accustomed to an automatic and the raft of technological goodies- all things that I usually don't select when I buy a car. Your question encouraged me to look up the review of the 335i Sport convertible that I wrote almost exactly nine years ago. I thought that the N54 motor felt like a cross between a 396 Chevy and an E24 M6 motor. The N55 in the 2er feels even stronger. I liked the six speed automatic in the drop top, but the eight cog ZF is even more impressive. I also noted that the handling could be a bit more involving and bemoaned the lack of an optional limited slip diff- the 2er still needs a limited slip, but the handling is much more entertaining. All in all, I'd have to say that my story's conducing paragraph is even more applicable to my latest BMW than it was to the 335i:

By the time I reached driving age, the first Muscle Car era was over. The cars I lusted after-the Boss 302 Mustang, the AAR Cuda, and the 2nd generation Z28-were either extinct or emasculated. I never had a chance to actually drive one of those ponycars, but back then I just knew what it would be like: Savage acceleration, pin-sharp handling, and powerful brakes. And while those cars were benchmarks for their era, there was no way that they could live up to the performance I had imagined. Until now. You see, as I was pulling into work one day, the convertible's radio began to play the Beach Boys’ "Cherry, Cherry Coupe"- and suddenly it all clicked into focus with laser-sharp clarity. The 335i convertible is fast, comfortable, acceptably nimble, and MUCH prettier than its sedan stablemate- BMW has built the Ultimate Mustang.

@stickguy - I know you'll make the right decision about the dog. You'll miss them, but then you get another one and start over. That's what we did. Then we added another. And another. As noted, they are pack animals so they have one another to play with.

@abacomike and @jmonroe - the base Genesis is RWD, not FWD. V6 has 300 HP, give or take, so probably not all that different from the CLS400. And, the deals are pretty incredible at the moment. Lots of incentive money available. I just don't think the Hyundai service levels are quite up to MB standards. But - who am I kidding? Mike doesn't keep his cars long enough to have to worry about that.

Well, here's the thing. I grew up not all that far from several well to do suburbs. The old rich tended toward Buick's and Chryslers, or even Ford LTD's. The new rich liked the luxo cars. So judging a person by a car is not really correlated.

Oh I wish that were true then I wouldn't have to justify my hoopties to anyone. Truth is people judge based on all sorts of material accessories...watch, clothes, car, house. You name it.
But dogs don't care...they love you no matter what you drive.

Well OF, what did you decide to do about the buying luxury cars job? Remember, it isn't illegal, I don't think you could lose because they need the cars,....you may have a guilty conscience and may not sleep at nights knowing you would be operating in a gray area.
I'm always wary of any promise of "big money" anyone who plays on the edge of legality is probably not one you would trust to pay your commission.

On the other hand I found an ad for car dealer transporter in Tampa but the pay was only $8.05/hr.

Not sure it would be worth getting out of bed.
$8.05 an hour! The good news is the cost of living in Florida has to be one of the lowest in the US. You can buy a pretty nice home for under $250k, and day to day expenses are about the lowest like property tax, no state tax, and you don't need to buy winter clothes!
True. You could even sleep on the beach...

...which you would have to do if you were only making $8.05/hr. :p

Not sure about that, it is money for doing something we all love to do driving cars.

And if you want you can make more money by driving slow.
I'm sure that's what these employers are counting on. Get some overqualified individuals for next to nothing because they love driving cars.

Funny about what you said about making more money. Whenever a new driver expresses concern about getting lost I tell them to remember that the longer they are lost the more they get paid. B)

Jmonroe: My dog weighs 67 pounds, so pretty close! She's nearly 12 years old.
Stick: Our dogs are so special, it's hard when they get old. I didn't post a pic of my beloved Brittany who passed away in December at the age of 14. I'm still taking her loss pretty hard. Hang in there.
I do love seeing the pics of everyone's four legged family members.
