What's with the names being shown twice? Does that mean you have to divide by two? :o

You're upset because you only have just over 1000 posts.
If you divided up the really long posts into 10 separate ones, you would have over 10000 posts by now.

I think it is 30 mph here, but same otherwise.

And those simple maneuvers still require 100x more coordination and wherewithal than driving a Corolla around a residential street and parallel parking it in a controlled environment. And in WA, the icing on the cake is that testing is privatized with no real oversight that I know of, via this (and what I see on the roads) I have no doubt passing grades are effectively for sale. At least the motorcycle instructors tend to be old school enthusiasts.

Here if that 50cc Vespa can not go over 20 MPH and doesn't need to be shifted all you need is a regular drivers license with no endorsements.

In most states to get a normal motorcycle license all you have to do is pass a multiple choice test and do some simple maneuvers in a parking lot on a 200cc scooter and you can be license to ride bikes that would embarrass veyron.

If you can ride a bicycle you should be able to do those skills test on a 200 cc scooter. Now on a medium sized bike and larger it gets much harder to do especially anything with turns. However on a small bike it scooter it's way to easy. Trust me I've done it both ways.

Still more difficult than navigating a numb commuter box around a few blocks of low speed streets and then getting a credential that lets one drive a many-ton vehicle.

I remember way back when I took my first MSF class, I tried on a little cruiser for size. I quickly switched to a taller bike - the lowness was uncomfortable in tight situations.

Based on how many if not most cyclists here behave on the roads I doubt many would pass much of a test.

If you can DIY a few things, and have a good indie shop, if you aren't getting anything too exotic (like a 650i) a mainstream BMW should not cost that much to maintain anyway. Either the 2.0l turbo, or old school NA 3.0l 6

The sales lady told us that an oil change was $200 once every 12 months and you should have seen the look on my wifes face. That would be a bit more than a years worth of oil changes on both cars (2 changes per car) that we currently have. Yes I do know indie places are cheaper than dealerships.

FWIW the yearly oil change on the bike is just over $125, so high priced oil changes are not unknown to us.
That $200 oil change probably includes the oil for the turbo too.

Funny thing today: I went to the home center to pick up a few 8' deck boards to replace some soft spots on my deck. I was able to fold down the rear sear in the ATS, recline the passenger seat and they fit in via the trunk opening quite easily. While I was there a guy with a high-zoot Ram showed up to do the same thing. His 8' boards were too long for his short cargo box by a couple of feet to he had to putz around with rope to hold them in place. Seems to defeat the purpose of having a pickup. Maybe the Chevy Avalanche was on to something after all.

I find lowness of a bike to be a benefit in tight situations as the lower center of gravity helps.

They're really able to keep track of @driver100 with 3 Mercedes...

"The secret sensors, fitted to all new and used motors sold by the firm’s dealers, pinpoint the vehicle’s exact location."

There's a lot more to the article about, supposedly, when the trackers are "activated."

It doesn't bother me one bit. I have no intention of 1) financing a Mercedes or 2) not paying for a car I buy. I reported about 2 months ago, that we were talking about getting a new sink, and Alexa must have picked that up as we started getting ads for new sinks. I don't care,,,,if they want to listen to my conversations they aren't going to find out much that is interesting.

In my previous car where the rear seat didn't fold down, it wasn't so easy. I did it though, by sliding them onto the parcel shelf through the sunroof! Worked as long as you didn't have any low bridges. This was high cotton by comparison.

If you read my post you'd know I said, "a GOOD comedian".

Maybe I should have said, 'a good comedian is appreciated more than a run of the mill high volume poster'.

Nice. When do you bring it home? Have you considered how hot a black on black combo will get?

I had heard that was a fiasco. Luckily the politicians were using their own personal money and not taxpayer’s.....wait! :o

If you divided up the really long posts into 10 separate ones, you would have over 10000 posts by now.

    @jmonroe1
    He got you there....

He didn't get me, Edmunds got me when I lost my seniority because I am now @jmonroe1. I have over 300 lol's as @jmonroe1 due to our newish system. If I got credit for the @jmonroe lol's I'm sure I'd be in a much higher lol bracket. Possbly on the same page as our bragging poster buddy.

Maybe one of our MOD's can verify this for me.

I just thought the line about long posts into separate ones was pretty funny.

    667 + 345 = 1012

    Happy Now?

    THANKS, I needed that.

See whadda I tell ya. BTW, I didn't know you were promoted to a MOD status.

    Thanks again.

Looks like "old" jmonroe was funnier. You past your prime! :o:'(

It may well be a Photoshop, but it looks really good. Maybe someone with metal crafting skills should give it a try!

Didn't someone once say that 97.99% of the stuff found on the internet wasn't true?
    :D
    I think it's 102.5% of the internet isn't true.

Gee just like me, more LOL's than likes. They are laughing more at us than liking us. :disappointed:
Don't fret, a good comedian makes more than a run of the mill high volume poster. ;)

Well I have come across some good comedians barely making it in comedy and have seen some big name comedians where I cant find much humor in what they do.

What? I'm still a nobody! I just knew where to look up the info

How did you go about finding my old info? I tried but couldn't do it. I know it's not a trick but when you know how it's easy.

I just went back a year or so... found an old Jmonroe post and clicked on the user name.

Well this has been a discouraging day. I only have 393 LOL's. Other's have 1000? My feelings are hurt. My self esteem is low. Don't we even get participation trophies? LOL

    Nothing goes right:
I finally for the summer drag out the edger which is always hard to get started for the first time each season. It starts finally. I start doing edging and it keeps stalling. On the 4th stall, I pull to start it and the handle and rope come out of the recoil starter and are in my hand. Grrrrrrrrrr. I'm standing there with the rope in my hand but the edger is running. So I continue as it starts to rain, and it stalls again.

So I'm looking at videos on repairing. IT's really easy because the system comes apart with 2 screws on my Briggs Straton motor with a Sears label on it.

Finally get the replacement rope in. Then I find I didn't wind up the spring enough before putting the rope into the recoil part, so it doesn't pull the rope all the way back in.
