I confirm the $250 lease cash.

Deals on MINIs are very dealer dependent. My daughter has bought two MINIs, and the local dealer here in Denver is a one price place - no discount from MSRP at all.

I have heard of other dealers in different parts of the country offering discounts, though I can't say how big they might be. What works against you is the lack of MINI dealers that you can use to negotiate one against the other. We only have two in Colorado; and the other one is almost 100 miles away from us.

MINI seems to have sweetened its lease offer mid-month. I just noticed on its website that the 36 mos./30k miles lease for the base Hardtop 2-door went from $229/mo down to $214/mo with the same cap cost reduction. Can you check what are the MF and residual for both base and S? Thanks!

we don't get any mid-month updates ... numbers are the same as at the beginning of the month:

Base Hardtop - .00121 and 61%
S Hardtop - .00121 and 61%

Could I get the MF and Residual on a Cooper S 4 door? Also, we were interested in leasing a loaner car with roughly 5000 miles on it. My dealer told me that they only discount them $1000. does this sound accurate? Cadillac discounted nearly $1000 for every 500 miles on their loaner cars if I remember correctly. Do you happen to have any numbers or insight on leasing a loaner car? Thank you

Hi Some insight into the deal I am getting for a 2 door cooper s 36/10 would be greatly appreciated:

MSRP - 33,800
Selling Price - 31,225
residual - 62%
MF - 0.00156 (this seems way higher than what you have out there of 0.00114

How is this deal - Am I missing anything or do I just need to fight harder at the MF? Does Mini (like BMW) also accept MSDs? Finally I don't drive that much so is there any numbers out there for June for MF and Residual based on 36/7.5

Using the base MF versus the inflated one saves a bit over $20/mo on the payment, so you should insist on it or you won't sign the deal.

I believe MINI accepts MSD like BMW does, though I don't have the particulars of the program.

Lastly, if MINI has residuals for 7,500 miles per year, they would be 1% higher than the 10K residuals.

I would say so - the MINI dealer where my daughter has bought 2 MINIs is a fixed price dealer. She's paid MSRP both times.

Hi, on the mini website there is a $500 lease credit, $500 option credit, and $500 "dealer contribution". I understand the first two, but what does the dealer contribution mean? Is it a factory to dealer incentive or is it an assumption that the dealer lowers the price by $500 in order to reach the advertised payment? Thanks

The last one.... that's the dealer's discount from MSRP, before the credits.

Base MF for this model is .00086. That's the main thing to focus on bringing down. It's not an All4 model, is it?

To make sure I'm reviewing the deal correctly and negotiating the right items. Listed price is $30450 (which includes options and destination fee). Dealer claims to be discounting to $29200 (not sure if discount is dealer contribution or lease incentive or both.) Add in $440 of "fees" (document, etc.) With 63 percent residual and MF closer to .00086, my monthly should come in around $319 before tax (or $347 with tax) with nothing down? Is it reasonable for me to ask for this deal? (Where is dealer/salesperson making $.) Thanks for your advice.

I get $320/mo before tax (rounding error), so I agree with you calculations.

I would confirm with the dealer what the net capitalized cost is - may be different from the $29,200 selling price. If so, your payment will be higher.

Not up to you to worry about whether or where they are making money - either they'll accept the deal or they won't.

I cannot close the gap between the dealer quote and my calculations. Is it possible that the dealer is including the amount of tax on the full purchase price which then increases the lease amount? (I live in California.) Thank you.
