Just locked down a lease on a 2015 Grand Cherokee Limited today in NJ. 36 months, 12k miles per year. This included the tow package, sunroof, and 8.4 inch Uconnect with NAV. MSRP was $43,195 I believe.

$0 down, all taxes, dealer fees, and MV fees rolled into the payment. $409/month. Paid first month and walked out the door. Felt really good about that number. One of the lowest I've seen since browsing this forum.

Hi, few questions on a Jeep on a Grand Cherokee Overland Diesel lease. I was at the dealership this afternoon and left because we could not come to an agreement on the numbers.

    Here's the breakdown:

    MSRP $54,880
Negotiated price $47,130 ($7750 off incl. rebates)
    Neg, Equity $3,000
    Residual 56% ($30,733)
Interest 6.8% (this the part that's bothering me)
    Payment $880 incl 6% tax for 39/10

I immediately questioned the interest rate and asked about the MF. I was told this is a better deal and I would lose my rebates??? I told them their math does not add up to my math if we use the published MF and we should be in the mid 6's OTD. They came back with $920/month using the MF. I honestly got sick of going back and forth with them asking to explain the number, and they couldn't so I left.

Can someone please validate the numbers on a Overland Diesel?

The rebates are so high, because they are using another bank (Ally or USBank, most likely).
You lose that big IDL rebate if you go with Chrysler Capital

So I left the dealership, they had a markup for 4,000 and the best deal he gave me with incentive was 41,625 negotiating back and forth, They did not want to lose a dime. 39 MO 12k miles. Was 585+tax, They were so shady and did not help at all the finance guys were telling me basically they are gonna sell it full price with markup and no less. This is San Jose,CA area

Wow that is a horrible deal! Walk away fast! At that price, you can get the new trim called the High Altitude which is based off of the Overland + Altitude package and more.

Altitude is limited volume and high demand. Perhaps people in San Jose are willing to buy it at that price. I would certainly shop around more and drive father to get a better deal. Last time I checked, Huntington Beach Jeep, CA had 16 Altitude models. Good Luck!

Is a termination fee and a disposition fee both standard for leases through Chrysler? Can they be waived or are they negotiable?

Can someone please share GC limited Long Island 36 mos MF and residual for 12 and 15 k
  • hollywood53hollywood53 Member Posts: 44
Termination and /or Dispo fee"s are usually waived only if you lease another vehicle from same manufacturer
  • hollywood53hollywood53 Member Posts: 44
To make that a little clearer Ex If first car was with Chrysler Financial but the second goes thru a bank or credit union it is not waived and if the first was thru bank or credit union the dispo is never waived even if you lease another car thru them

Termination and disposition fee are the same thing, I think. Most captive banks waive them if you lease another car of the same make. But, otherwise, not negotiable.

Hey guys, went ahead to another dealership and here are the particulars of the deal. I am in California and it is a 4x4 Grand Cherokee Altitude with Sunroof Option on it.

    MSRP $39,890
Agreed Upon Selling Price = 37,000
Fees which include acquisition fee of 595,along with 354 tax, 370 TLR, and than Processing Charge= $1,429.13
Cap Cost Reduction = 4050 ( $4500 but Supposedly used 450 of it for a refundable security deposit)
    ADJ. Cap Cost= 34,379.13
    Residual of 19,945
    MF= .00013

Monthly Payments of 443.17 for 36 months 12,000 Miles.

Guys please let me know if this is a good deal. It is definitely one of the better deals I have received as of late but I did not like the finance guy very much he didn't explain much of anything to me.

They are also going to charge me a disposition fee of $395 when I return the vehicle at the end of the lease which was also kind of BS. along with that acquisition fee and security deposit I did not do. Also a purchase option fee of $350 they just tacked on fee after fee everywhere and did not negotiate any of the fees what so ever.

    Forgot to mention.

The 4500 Cap cost reduction breaks down to

$2500 bonus cash for lease, $1000 competition lease, than $1000 cash down.

Corrrect my out of pocket expense is only $1,000. I just became a bit unsure of the payment if I am truly getting a good deal. Called another dealership earlier for the same car they offered me 497 with $1000 down so that made me happy. Let me know what you guys think

Correct Only $1,000 out of pocket. I am just having second thoughts because I feel like I should have gotten a better deal on this car. I was offered 462 including tax on the MSRP of 41,625 from a different dealership but they sold the car in the time I was on vacation. Although I am happy going through all of the other Altitude deals on this forum it doesn't seem like the best deal.

Thank you for numbers. Just confirming the MF on Overland is that low and there wasn't an extra 0 (eg. .00001 not .0001). The numbers I am still getting from the dealer are b/w .00035 and .0001 based on my calculations. He hasn't shared the MF yet despite my request.

Four zeros is correct (.00001) - dealer can mark up the MF on you for extra profit, which may be why they're hesitant to share with you.

Follow up to my RV and MF question. I'm being flashed a dealer invoice which shows invoice cost of 43.9k on a msrp of 45.8. This doesn't seem right with such a small margin. Should I assume this isn't the entire story and there are dealer incentives at play which will greatly reduce the dealer cost?

also, any advice on inventory age? In other words when will a dealer begin to get antsy with aged inventory in the lot? Is it 2 months, 6 months?

Follow up to my RV and MF question. I'm being flashed a dealer invoice which shows invoice cost of 43.9k on a msrp of 45.8. This doesn't seem right with such a small margin. Should I assume this isn't the entire story and there are dealer incentives at play which will greatly reduce the dealer cost?

also, any advice on inventory age? In other words when will a dealer begin to get antsy with aged inventory in the lot? Is it 2 months, 6 months?

Use the pricing tools at the top of the page - make / model / year - to get invoice prices from Edmunds.

No idea how inventory age affects selling prices...

    10k
    .49 Residual
    .00013 Money Factor

Using your numbers, I get a payment of $462.46/mo before tax. Do you know how much of the rebate is being used to address your up front costs (bank fee, dealer fee, taxes, etc.)?

The low residual is what's hurting you here.
