$20750 (not including taxes)
has anyone received any better offers?
what type of financing have people been offered?
and what type of other "fees" should i expect?
thank you all
250 seems reasonable for one
NY tax is 8.625%
Then Plates and Doc should total less than $300 total
Any other fees are not resonable
Dealer offering $21,884 -- before taxes--price includes destination charge---not TTL. CarsDirect.com price is $21,656 for this area. It looks good to me. Just don't know since it is the end of the season? Thinking maybe I should get an '05 instead. CarsDirect.com does not have a price for the '05s in this area. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Planning to buy in the next few days. Also looked at 2003, EX (no leather), for $19,294 (10K miles on vehicle)...
I must say that I feel a little ashamed worrying about the price of car when it is the anniversary of 9/11....somehow it does seem insignificant....but I guess the blessing comes in my ability to purchase a new car after the painful effects of that day.
Of Note: I found out when I got the car that the 05 EX-L with NAV now has the alloy wheels off of the 04 EX V6. The sale rep was suprised and we were very happy about this!
The graphite is a great color and thanks for the feedback on the interior colors. The steering wheel lights are very subtle but nice and the solid red tailights are also great. Blinkers flash red when you turn them on (instead of yellow I think).
Let me know if anyone needs any more specifics on the lease deal. Thanks and good luck!
Sounds like a good deal. I have been trying to get a price from norm reeves on an 05 ex coupe 6speed. Who did you deal with ?
email me at desertsunatdcdotrrdotcom if you can and we can do private emails.
Thanks,
John
Is this possible? Has anyone recived any offers that are close? If so, where?
im looking to buy today
thanks
Please advise...
would u recommend an LX instead ?
Good luck on your purchase. Let us know what you decide....
On the other hand, if you did sign it, and the dealership submitted it for financing, then you will have to grab your sales rep or the GM and get things staightened out.
You should call the dealership and have them return the forms you signed which they should be willing to do after your check clears.
For this to become a problem, the dealer would have to receive payment via your check AND receive funds from a bank or finance company that would accept the security agreement/note you signed. That would be fraud if you'd already fully paid for the car. I doubt that your dealer is likely to do that......Richard
___An Accord LX w/ Auto goes for ~ $17,100 in the Chicagoland area. Not only will you receive a higher trim level for all the years you plan on owning it but you will have an easier time on the trade-in/for sale side of equation as well.
___Check out the following http://grandhonda.com/ and Click on “Click Here for Specials” button. This is in the Chicagoland area but I am sure you can find a similar deal in your area wherever that may be.
___Good Luck

Accord MSRP $24890.00 selling for $20500 5.9% financing
RSX MSRP $22570 selling for $20700 2.9% financing
They are both '04 models.
Thanks.
I was just charged the following:
NY State inspection ... $10
DMV charge............. 110
Dealers optional fee for processing application for registration....... 20
Total...$140
This looks fair to me -- anyone have vastly different experience?
As I think about it, I wonder how the dealers actually accomplish all this. I find it difficult to believe that they actually go to the local DMV every day to register all the cars sold in the previous 24 hours (and pick up plates). Maybe they do, but it would make much more sense for everyone concerned if DMV gave each dealer a computer link to do the registration, and gave them a small inventory of plates and registration forms. Anyone know how this works?
Similarly, I can't believe that dealers drive new cars to a state inspection station to be inspected. Maybe their service department is authorized to do inspections on the new (and used ???) cars they sell, and they actually go throough the process, but maybe there is some exemption for dealer-sold cars. Again, anyone know?
I assume you meant "Silver with black leather" not "black cloth" if this was an EX-L. Is that correct?
I'm getting ready to do some final negotiations with the dealer here and it looks like the current "typical" price of an '04 EX-L (4-cyl) reported here is $20.5K-$20.9K, which puts the '04 at about $2000 under the lowest I've seen an '05 reported at ($22.5K).
At a $2K difference, that will make me seriously consider the '04, since all I'm apparently giving up is the lighted steering wheel controls. The '04 vs '05 thing isn't that important as it's all pretty much a wash after 5 years (1 extra year vs 15K fewer miles). We'll see where the dealer comes in on his offer.
On a side note: What's the lowest anyone's seen the HondaCare 7yr/100K going for (and from where)?
Thanks,
-n
I bought mine here. It was the lowest I found after looking for about a month.

I really wanted to get side air bags but I cannot find a deal even close to $500 within this price for a 2004 Accord lx with side air bags.
I may want to wait and but a 2005 Accord lx at with side curtain air bags? Has anyone bought a 2005 Accord lx at with side curtain air bags ? Just trying to figure out if it would cost me more than $2000 than the deal I have for a 2004 Accord lx without side air bags.
Thanks
sorry, I do have an EX not an EX-L. I got mine on 9/6 which might of been a mistake as I think the incentives might be better today then it was then. Probably would have been smarter to wait until the end of the month to buy. Now I am thinking I could of got a better price. I did not want the leather anyway and prefer the cloth interior. I am not going to make myself crazy about it anyway because I am really enjoying the car...
Unfortunately, their idea of fixing the problem was to buff the area extensively causing a "foggy" affect on the lower bumper area. I was quite perturbed to say the least. I went back and they were willing to buff out the fogginess but I can still see the micro-scratches on the clear coat. I have to admit I am about as anal as they come so you can't see these micro-scratches unless you use a flashlight on the area and look at it from a few inches away at a certain angle. I have given up on having them do the job to my satisfaction. I’ll be doing the detailing myself from now on.
Anyways, Stevens Creek was very willing to help me which is a definite plus. But, I felt they simply didn't have the expertise to handle the problem that I gave them.
Personally, I’d trust them with an oil change, but anything that requires a higher level of skill is another story.
However, if I look hard enough, use a flashlight at a certain angle etc, I'll be able to find imperfections on ANY new car.
If you are that fussy you really shouldn't have bought a black car. I own one (my LAST black car)and they show EVERYTHING!
LX Accord coupe...pretty rare car.
Life is short...enjoy your new ride!
Have a quote from a dealer for an EX-L Accord / (4cylinder)$21,869.00, with taxes OTD $23,552.91.
Is this a good price? Buying in the next 24 hours.

If you buy an '05, you'll get head curtain airbags standard. That's a good reason to get the '05 LX, IMO--you'll get a very well equipped car if the price isn't prohibitive......Richard
Anyway, the best deal I have for an 05 EX V6 sedan w/Nav is 26,288. I can't find another dealer that will get closer than $500 to that price. I feel like it is a solid price for an 05, but want to double check. I plan to buy in the next two days.
I really wanted a TL, but I can't justify (or frankly afford) the extra $6K.
Thanks.
I have seen a post from smiling2 in milwaukee get one for approx 17711 plus TTL. That sure sounds like a great deal and I do not expect to get such a good deal in the Wash Dc metro area.
I am not sure what I should expect pay. Appreciate your input.
Thanks,
My local dealer is also apparently trying to screw me on a 2005, so that doesn't appear to be an option. Last month on an "undiscounted" 2004 EX-L they quoted me $307/mo (lease) out the door. Today they're quoting me $413 on the same 2005 - even though MSRP has only gone up $250. They claim residuals have gone down - but I know they have in fact gone up. And of course interest rates have "soared" causing a $100/month increase! In fact they even told me if they had a 2004 it would be $385/mo now. So who knows - maybe they just don't want to sell me a car.
Anyway... Anyone know of any in the OH, MI, KY, IN, IL, PA, WV area (don't feel like driving farther than that).
Thanks.

While I'm sitting here, I just got a call back from Century with a quote on an '04 V6 EX-L for $363/mo - still seems way too high.
-n
At that time, an EX-V6 would have been about $395/mo... What has changed since then? Interest rates are much lower...
The $363/mo.. how many miles per year? Is tax included? How much upfront?
I've bought cars from all three of those Honda dealers, BTW.. the only other one in town I would consider is Superior... and I would avoid Jeff Wyler.

Thanks.
The $363/mo is out-the-door, tax and everything, on a 3 year 45K lease.
With that said, I'm now talking to a different person at Performance and am getting better information (so far) - so maybe I can make this work to my spoiled advantage after all! They've quoted me (verbally of course) an 05 at $1500 less than Century's quote. We'll see where their lease numbers fall out. But at that price, I may just buy the damn thing.
-n
24,700? Thats great. And you got it fully loaded yes?
Are the 05's out? I see on here people saying they have them, but one of my friends said he though they didnt come out for another month.
Basically, on the same cars as follows:
'05 EX-L 4cyl
--------
Century - $24515
Performance - $23000
'04 EX-L V6
--------
Century - $23595
Performance - $23200
The lease deals still stink (compared with July) because Honda's not offering the ridiculously low 0.5% on the EX like they were in July.
What would you recommend? I'm thinking that if I can get the '05 EX-L under $23K I should just buy it.
Any thoughts?
-n
The residual on the '05 is 56%, which is pretty low for the start of the model year, and the residual on the '04 is 51%. So, $363/mo for 3/45K lease does not seem that bad on a $26K car, as long as upfronts are minimal.
I've always got the lowest prices and best trade-in allowances at Performance (leased 3 Accords), but the guys at Century are straight shooters, though maybe not quite as competitive on price (bought one CR-V). I take mine to Century for service...
I did buy my last CR-V out of town.. At Nourse Honda in Chillicothe.. Just happened to be driving through on vacation... They cut to a pretty competitive offer pretty quick..
Looking at the residuals, this may not be the best time of year to lease an Accord..
There is a $1000 dealer incentive on the '04s, though..

I think with the deals they have now, I would buy vs. lease, if you are flexible about it..
Normally, I would say get the '05, because it is a year newer, and your resale will be better.. but, you are paying a lot extra for the leather in the EX-L that really won't come back to you on resale, where the EX-V6 has leather standard, and the extra money for that model will come back at trade time...
I'd pick the '04 V6 and see if they will bite on an offer for $500 less...
I'd give you the name of a salesman or manager at Performance, but that is against the rules here.. good luck!

But they appear to simply not provide as competitive a price - or be willing to. BTW, they quoted me that they were using a 48% residual on the '04 (and 54% on the '05), which is part of the problem.
But when I told them Performance was quoting $23K for purchase on the '05 they didn't even attempt to match it - they just said "I can't believe anyone would sell it for that". So, I don't think there's much chance of getting them to drop. And Performance sounded like they might even have a little more playing room in there.
We bought our Odyssey out of town and have it serviced at Century as well. Will probably do that with the Accord too. I do like their service dept.

It's going to be a tough call. I currently have a V6 Maxima and it's tough to go back to a 4, but the Accord 4 is pretty nice - and the extra 10 MPG doesn't hurt either.
As for buy vs lease, right now I'm looking at my home equity line which is lower monthly (than the lease) and much less due at the end of the 36 months than the residual on the lease - and I haven't given away that upfront $1500 cap reduction. So, purchase is looking better.
Gotta run for now... will answer any responses later tonight.

1) 4-cyl generally do have better residuals than the V-6, but if purchasing the 4 cyl EX-L model doesn't seem to do as well on a percentage basis as the regular EX w/cloth. If you are buying, you just don't seem to get anything back for the leather at resale time.
2) I think the EX-V6 is a big upgrade.. If I was buying, I'd pick that in an '04, if as cheap as 4-cyl '05 EX-L.
3) I agree about the dealers.. Performance has always given me the best price, though sometimes I've had to work a little harder for it..
4) Century has a great service department.. bought one car there, but this is the 3rd one I've taken there for service. (plus, its on the way to work).
