The reason is that Honda was giving incentives to the dealer if they reached a certain quota. Carsdirect is probably factoring that in. I bought a 2005 EX-L 4cylinder five speed for 21,800 including destination. The dealer fee on top of that was 200.

I recently purchased a HAH in Graphite Pearl. OTD $31,662. That's including the security system & an extended warranty plus all other charges. I did much better than I thought I would. It's tough to get a good deal in the Los Angeles area. And I LOVE THIS CAR!!

What is you annual mileage allowance?

Anyone know what the 36 month depreciation would be on a 36 month 20K miles per year?
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 260,917
Last time I did a high-mileage lease with AHFC, they used the 15K residual, then subtracted $0.10 per mile for all extra miles from the residual...

    Example..

    MSRP $20K
    3yr/45K residual 60%
    3yr/45K residual $12,000
    3yr/54K residual $12,000 minus $900 = $11,100..

Not sure if they still do it this way..

15K miles, which is the maximum in the standard lease program. I believe any additional miles you need you either prepay for them at 10 cents or pay after the lease at 15 cents.

    Phil,

FYI: I've heard shady stories from my Credit Union Rep and others about AutoWest Honda in Fremont.

Congrats on your new ride. I got a quote of $21,086 (including destination plus $45 for documentation) from AutoWest for the EXL-4I AT or $21,131 before TTL. This is the lowest offer so far, even lower than Anderson. You comment made me a little concerned. What kinds of shady stories do you hear about AutoWest?

Could you also elaborate on your comment, ...you'd probably use AutoWest Honda's quote to get another $100 off Anderson Honda in Palo Alto like I did!
Does Anderson guarantee to match or beat any offers by $100? Did you have to show the internet quote?

    Thanks.

I am planning on paying "cash" on the last day of May for a brand new Accord EXV6 Sedan WITHOUT the navigation system. I'm in Austin, TX so car tax is 6.25%. I know the Doc. Fee is on $50. Then there is Title and Lisence Fees of around $180.
My question is, do you think I could offer the dealership $24,700 Out The Door Price for the car? I have NO trade-in either. Some say that's not enough, others think I could offer even less. Some opions would be great! Thanks so much.
  • jb_turnerjb_turner Member Posts: 702
Paying cash or financing does not matter to a dealer... well .... they probably would perfer you to finance as they would make a bit of money off the intrest rate. See what their best price financing would be.
  • tleetlee Member Posts: 44
Don't expect too much from the Austin area dealers. Carsdirect has a price of $25,173 before TTL for Austin. I ended up going to Houston (Russell & Smith Honda) to purchase my 2005 Accord 4 months ago. The price I paid was about $700 lower than the quotes I got from Austin dealers (and about $450 below invoice). That was also the internet price I got without any negotiation. The transaction went smoothly. I highly recommend R&S. You can simply ask for an internet quote from them to see for yourself. By the way, for services, I go to Classic Honda in Round Rock. Their services are outstanding even though I didn't buy the car from them.

The dealers that will deal low, seem to offer the same really low price all month long. The dealers that will not deal seem to be the ones that MIGHT make you a good deal on the last day of the month.

I would hunt around the area for a dealer that deals low all the time and go ahead and get the car. I would doubt that a dealer that is a lot higher is going to go that low - even on the last day of the month.

Right now, carsdirect.com for the ATL shows $23,613 for this car. This is $1,100 under invoice, which seems to be a nice deal (yes, and the dealer even makes a profit depending on the incentive they have earned). In your state with tax and stuff this would be $25,319 or so to you. So your idea of $24,700 seems like cutting a little too close to the bone for most dealers to accept.

I bet Holmes Honda over in Shreveport (for example) would make you a better deal today than any of the local dealers would make you at month's end.

joon - the stories I heard dealt with promising cars (model, trim & color) and when the consumer visited, ... the promised car was not available, ... hence recommending something else on the lot!

Now, your experience above, may develop like the above scenario, ... but then again, it may develop with no problems. Just let us know how it went, ... if you end up dealing with them.

    Anderson Honda

Anderson Honda called me first (Internet Manager) and my quote over the phone was $21,786 + fees, ... so I immediately asked him after he was done talking, ... if he priced matched? Well, ... he did! It was as easy as that!

At this point, I didn't know about their LOW PRICE GUARANTEE.

He asked if he could sent me an official email and told me that since his spreadsheet is a template, it will still read $21,786 + fees, but price matching would not be a problem.

Cool, they will price match, :D , ... so when I got the email, I read it over.

    His template is as follows:
    Subject: Your Personal AndersonDirect Quote
    Selling Price $21,786.00
    Tire Fee $8.75
    Doc. Fee $45.00
    Sales Tax 8.25% $1,801.06
    DMV (Estimate) $203.00
    Total $23,843.81

Right above the spreadsheet template is where I read the following ...

"We have a LOW PRICE GUARANTEE. If you are offered a lower price in writing or email from a different Northern California Honda dealer, we will BEAT the price by $100." :surprise: :)

After I received two more quotes from Capitol and Stevens Creek Honda, ... I made an appointment with Anderson to look at the colors again in the daylight (wife pre-requisite) and test drive a 4cyl AT EXL sedan.

To get the price match + $100, all I had to do is confirmed my lower quote by bringing a copy of that lower email Dealer Quote when I visited them. I also emailed AutoWest to identify what the 'fees' were since they didn't spell out what the fees were in the 1st email. I had that but forgot to make a copy of it, ... so I showed the Anderson Internet Manager that AutoWest email from my Email InBox, using their computer.

Done, my price was $20,986 + fees = $22,961.81 OTD!!!

Now, I don't know if they will do that again, but it sure doesn't hurt to try!?!

Hello, I am also planning to buy a Honda Accord DX VP and it will be my first (new) car. I have no idea or experience about the price for this purchase. So could you please give me some details on the price you got in the end? For example, the final price (how much is it below the invoice price?) , tax, destination fee and so on. Thanks so much for your kind help.
  • prince2100prince2100 Member Posts: 23
I don't understand how you got the price of 231.44 per month. I called a Honda dealer today and he said to lease a new Honda Accord LX it'll cost me $275 total per month including taxes, licenses, and fees with $600 down. He said this is based on the current lease deal Honda is offering. Basically, honda is offering $199/month with $2500 down, so the dealer worked it out with 600 down.

Also, the dealer told me you can't negotiate the sale price up front, it's based only on the MSRP and then the payments are based on that. But you mentioned a sale price of 17800. Does that mean you can purchase the car at that price minus your total payments? I would like the option to buy the car at a negotiated price not at the MSRP, is this possible? I would love to lease at @231/month. I've been calling in NJ.

    Thanks in advance.

    Phil,

Looks like these guys go through exactly the same script time after time. My experience has been nearly identical to yours. I e-mailed AutoWest asking for a quote. They came back with $21,086 price for the EX-L 4cyl AT w/out specifics. I e-mailed back asking what was included in this number and what the documentation fee would be, to which they replied it already included the destination and there was a $45 documentation fee on top of that, bringing the price before TTL to $21,131.

Meanwhile I called Anderson (I requested a quote by e-mail but they wanted to give it over the phone first and follow up with an e-mail) and they gave me a quote of $21,786 plus $45 documentation, exactly like your quote. When asked him if they would match or beat other area dealers (thanks Phil for the heads up), he said he would beat it by up to $100.

I'm just waiting for his quote and the guarantee in writing. I will probably end up at almost the exact price as yours. I wonder if their sales people go through these forums... ;)

    Hello to all!

First I would like to thank everyone who responded to my gas mileage question concerning the V6. We would also be very interested in anyone's experience in respect to MPG on the EX-L 4cy Accord Sedan. In fact, if anyone else has anymore info to share concerning MPG in either the 4 or 6 cy I am sure allot of people would be interested. Especially in this day and age of the rising fuel cost, please keep the info coming as I think this plays a factor in the buying experience so that is why I am posting this question here.

My other request is for anyone in the Central Florida region who has recently purchased either the EX-L 4cy Accord sedan (no navi) or the EX-V6 Accord (no navi) automatic Sedans...what type of pricies have you been paying?

The big debate in our house in the 4 or 6 cylinder?
We would even be willing to travel a bit to get an outstanding price and would turn the experience into a road trip if need be.

One more thing before I go...I think this is an outstanding forum and I know the dealerships out really wish this website didn't exist...it is killing their profit margins.
The knowledge I have learned from this website gets me comments from dealerships like "are you in the business?". That is because when I talk to them I know more things about pricing, holdbacks, factory incentives for moving the most units per month, etc...
So for everyone out there....I salute you!!! Keep the info flowing!!!
    Hail to the consumer!!!!
Thanks to all in advance for your help and insights!!

I told them that I praised their service and price @ this Forum and even sent the link to my original post (#7576) via email!!!

So they're aware of the above scenario and they (Internet Manager) were still professional, polite, friendly and very well informed about their cars!!! Even the Accounts Manager** was low pressure and friendly!!! All-in-all, ... an excellent car buying experience!!! Yeah, I gave Anderson Honda, Internet Manager & Accounts Manager ALL 5's!!!!!!!

I have the feeling that you'll score that super price like I did since whatever Dealer Incentive they had when I bought, ... must still be active!?!?

I didn't buy any accessories from the Dealer since you can get them thru the internet for much less!!!

**I will wait to buy(!?! - maybe) the Extended Warranty via the Internet during the 3rd year of ownership - still within the 36 month original Honda Warranty.

Since May 6, I drove my car for over 320 miles (had 4.5 miles on the odometer when I took delivery off the truck - waited 2-days / break-in = 600 miles), still on my 1st tank of gas that Anderson added and I added the following accessories:

    1) Splash Guards - Front & Rear ($39.95 + SH - www.handa-accessories.com)
    2) Sunshield Windshield Shade ($18.69 + SH - www.handa-accessories.com)
    3) Heavy Rubber Beige Floor Mats ($19.84 + tax - Wal-Mart)
    4) Convex Mirror for the Driver side mirror ($2.99 + tax - Kragen)

So far, my 2005 Honda Accord 4 cyl. AT PZEV EXL running smooth, quiet (when the XM radio or CD is off) and FUN to DRIVE!!! All my family, friends and co-workers love the Desert Mist Metallic color and Ivory w/burled wood trim interior!!!

Have fun spending your hard earned cash, ... looks like you're getting a great deal!!! (like I did!!! ;) )

He said this is based on the current lease deal Honda is offering. Basically, honda is offering $199/month with $2500 down, so the dealer worked it out with 600 down.

The advertised lease deal gives the dealer a hefty profit..

the dealer told me you can't negotiate the sale price up front, it's based only on the MSRP and then the payments are based on that.

    The dealer is lying...

Find another dealer... print-out his post... Or, copy it down... Take it to a dealer and tell them you will buy today if they give you that deal...

But, be willing to pay another $10-$20 per month... He got a fantastic, bottom-dollar deal that you may not be able to get from every dealer.

It is not entirely true that dealerships wish that this website didn't exist. In fact, we have several members who are car dealers who participate in our discussions.

Sometimes, an informed buyer can make the process a lot easier - you start with a realistic sense of what the vehicle is selling for rather than a fantasy. If the salesperson spends less time on a transaction with you, then he/she has more time to spend selling a vehicle to another customer.

Hi, I am a new buyer and live in North Carolina, Charlotte. Recently I want to buy the Accord LX 4 AT, but I don't what is the suitable price. I found this forum and thnk it is a wonderful place. So does anybody can tell me what is a good price and recommend some good dealer in NC? Any suggestion will be very welcome!

kyfdx is right, they are not telling you the truth. There is a shock, a car salesman lying to a customer - quick someone call the newspaper!

Try OpenRoad or Jersey Honda (same company, I think). Don't call up and say you want to lease, just get a bottom line price on the car - then do the lease deal.

Also try carsdirect.com and put in your ZIP code and see what no-haggle price comes up.

The promo lease deal calls for the dealer to sell for $600-700 over invoice and for you to pay $1,500 in cap cost reduction. to drive the price down to the net cap cost of $18,222.24 . With the current dealer money you should be able to get to (or close) this price without ANY money out of pocket. Then if you pay the first payment, security, acquisition fee, and tags/taxes at signing your lease WOULD be $199 a month. In NJ I think 6% tax is due on the price of the car, so that would be a lot out of pocket - or the payments would be higher.

You negotiate the price of the car just like you are paying cash, then do the lease at the lowest rate.

Around $18,200 for the car, destination, and dealer fees should be a good number. Some folks have paid less, some a little more - but that is > $800 under invoice for a Honda - which is not bad.

Don't know of any cheap dealers in Charlotte, but Hennessy in the Atlanta area should do $18,200 or maybe better on this car.

Go to carsdirect.com and put in your ZIP code and see what price comes up. Don't forget to check the "auto transmission" box or the price will be too cheap :) There may be a dealer that works through carsdirect in your area that will give you a nice price without a hassle.

If you look at the EPA figures of 24/34 for 4 cyl automatic, and 21/30 for V6 auotmatic, the savings at the pump would be between 13.3% and 14.3%. That helped me to decide to get the 4 cyl. If I lived in a hilly area, or drove with a full load of passengers, I would have purchased the V6. I'm still on my first tank of gas so I'm not sure what kind of gas mileage I'll actually get!

Well, that's good to know and that actually makes sense!

Anderson Honda Internet Manager reply, ... to my Price Matching question was not preceded with a very, ... very, ... very long pause! He without any fore thought said they did. He didn't even bat an eye when I handed him the printed email Dealer's Quote!!!

So they're aware of this form of consumer information sharing. It's just unfortunate some Regions and States are different to what we're experiencing here in California.

Thinking back to 1993 when we purchased our 1993 Honda Accord LX 5-sp MT sedan, ...all we had was Car & Driver, Road&Track, Consumer's Guide magazines and Kelly's Blue Book to make car purchasing decisions. We spent many an evening(s) in our local Library reading over the various car reviews, their recommendations and looking for the MFG. Invoice INFO.

We're in the age of instant communication using the internet and as I said before, THANK YOU = Edmunds.com sponsored and other Honda Accord Forums, for hosting consumer information like this, ... reading about other consumer's buying experiences and researching cars vs. price vs. invoice, ... is much easier. :shades:

You could have saved a lot of time by just buying the old printed price guides. Edmund's used to sell them as did a company called "Pace", if I remember correctly. Available at about any drug store or book store. For the new cars it showed MSRP and invoice along with option invoice and MSRP prices. For used cars they showed trade in and retail values.

I know these go back way before I purchased my first new car in 1979 and I have been using these ever since and only stopped buying them when Edmund's, KBB, and others starting giving the info away for "Free" online. Finding dealer incentives was a lot harder back then, though.

At one time I had a collection of Pace price guides going back several years in my office. I used to help friends and family find good prices and make deals using them, so I would buy new issues even if I was not in the market myself.

Having this info instantly available online is heaven now, and as Kirstie said does help the dealers somewhat. I hear folks say "I will walk in on the last day of the month and offer them $25k out the door for that car" when that is a totally unrealistic number given incentives, hold back, and dealer invoice. It really helps pre-burst the trade in bubble by looking up values online as well.

On an Accord note, the $600 incentive became $750 and is now $900 (all are up-to numbers). I wonder if Honda has FINALLY sold enough Accords to stop the incentives? The promo lease runs through July 7 now, so "odds are" they will have some dealer money for June too....

Hey guys, first post to the forum. I've been shopping dealers all week and drove off last nite w/ an 05 EX-V6 w/ XM - silver/black leather.
I got tint, mudguards, rear wing spoiler out the door car price of 23752 doc of 299 and w/ all ttl i drove off the lot paying 26460 w/ 3K down walked w/ exacltly a 430.00 month payment. I set all of this up through the web using edmonds and requested in email form the best price each dealer would give me and then took that around to all the others in my area before deciding on the dealer and the best price. Is $23,752 w. tint/mud guards/spoiler a good buy on the car?

    This website kicks butt!!!

You'll never be happy unless you test drive both the V6 and the 4 cyl.

I'd bet that many purchasers of V6 Accords never bothered to test-drive a 4 because they remembered the noisy, slow buzz boxes of the 1970s and early '80s and ignored all 4 cylinder cars.

Well, the Accord 4 is smoother than some other manufacturers' V6s and accelerates as well as some V6s, too. The Accord V6 is a great engine, but unnecessary IMO. Another advantage of the 4 is that it uses a timing chain instead of a belt that requires changing. The 4 is lighter in the front and might handle slightly better, too. The money you save will buy you a new iMac :D .

If you aren't hauling a trailer or loading the car full of heavy passengers and luggage all the time, the 4 is MORE than adequate. Try it and see.

With respect to gas mileage, there isn't much difference--only 2 or 3 MPG in most cases. My '03 EX-L A/T sedan gets 22.6 in the city, 33.2 on the highway, and average mileage for me has been 24 to 27 MPG in the San Francisco area............Richard

Yeah, I remember those price guides, but my wife managed the household funds (why we can purchased vehicles using cash) and visitng the library was no trouble. The two library's we visited (Mountain View and Sunnyvale, CA) each had a complete Auto REFERENCE section, so everything was right their. Matter-a-fact, ... I remember reading Edmunds Car Buying Guide Magazines also!!!

By the way, ... THANKS for ALL YOUR POSTS Dennis including updating the Accord incentives!

When I frist started reading this "Honda Accord: Prices Paid & Buying Experience" section (Aug. 29th), it was evident that I should go back and REAR ALL YOUR POSTS!!!

Your posts have been the most INFORMATIVE Guide in this Forum and it changed my mind that $600 under MFG Invoice (quoted a week before by our Credit Union Car Buying rep - she helped us get our 2004 Pilot w/NAV $1,010 under MSRP last Aug/Nov 2004) was about the best we can save!!! :)

    Thanks!

My wife is driving a new Accord thanks for the folks (like car_man) that posted the incentives as well - those NEVER made it to the Edmund's incentive page, which is what I normally depend on. With the dealer names I found in this forum plus the incentive I knew about ($600 in March) plus the cheap lease info (from the Honda page and the lease forum here) I was able to negotiate a really cheap price on the car and a REALLY cheap lease deal. My wife is happy, ergo I am happy :D

I'm new to this forum and have a couple of questions. My husband and I are wanting to purchase a Redondo Red Accord EX-L in Tampa Bay. I have been getting quotes from dealers around the area and am wondering if the prices are good. My lowest quote is $22251, but another dealer will beat my lowest offer by $200. Is this a good price? Also, if it isn't, how is the best way to bargin via email with the internet managers for a better price? Also, I was quoted by one dealer for 6% sales tax, $222 for tags, and $50 for title(?) Does this sound right? My husband actually took that info from the Carsdirect.com guy so I hope I got the right numbers from him.

Anyone purchase recently from this area or receive quotes different from mine? Is this a good quote, or should I be pushing for a lower price?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I love coming to Edmunds for all the info it has. It was very helpful in negotiating our deal for our 2002 Trailblazer EXT when we bought that, so I am hoping for a better experience/deal with this.

    Thank you in advance,
    Christine

Are you looking at the I4 with auto transmission? $22,251for the car, destination, and dealer fees would be a good price (invoice is around $22,700). Then you would add sales taxes, tags, and title.

Be sure when getting quotes to get a price for the car, destination, and dealer/doc fees - everything else should be the same (taxes/tags/title).

You might can find a lower price, the dealer IS making a profit at this price - but I would not think it would be a LOT lower. If the other dealer beats it by $200 including all fees then so much better :D

    Christine,
After reading your post I thought I would respond and hopefully help out a bit.
I live Tampa and have much experience with two Honda Dealers here in this area.
I am not sure where in Tampa you live but I can tell you that the two dealers you should be working with as far as getting the best price is the Honda dealer in Brandon (Brandon Honda) and the one on Florida avenue (Hondaland).
As far as the price of the car I can tell you that you should be able to get that Accord EX-L for at least $500 dollars below invoice or better with little trouble.
I am going to assume you are looking for the Sedan with automatic and those should be in great supply.
As far as the fees goes they do seem about right, 6% sales tax plus $50 Hillsbourgh tax (if you live in that county), tags are about $210 assuming you are getting new tags, if you are transferring tags it should only be about $68 dollars.
You also pay $5.00 battery fee, $1.50 tire waste fee, and last but not least $2.00 lemon law fee. If you would like to know the name of a good point of contact please let me know and I can supply it.
I do not work for these dealerships, nor do I get anything out of it except trying to help out a fellow consumer.
This forum is outstanding and can help out allot in the process of buying a car.
If I don't hear from you good luck in your car buying experience!!!!!

The lease on my RSX ends on 08/28/2005. I'm leaning towards financing (for 60 months) an Accord EX-L automatic sedan (not sure whether or not I want Navigation).

Two questions for all the Honda fans:

    1. I received a letter from AHFC stating that, due to my excellent payment history, I'll qualify for "pre-approved financing on [my] next Acura". I'm guessing that AHFC wouldn't object to a Honda purchase instead of an Acura. Has anyone here ever received this letter and is the interest rate lower than what AHFC advertises?

    2. Dealer Incentives: I've seen in some posts before that folks are getting info on dealer cash that's not mentioned on Edmunds. I'm planning on buying at the end of July or the beginning of August. In addition to Edmunds, where can I find out the current dealer incentives?

    thanks!!

natenj, I don't hold my deal up as one of the best deals on here. It was the best I could do in the Nashville area. I had not begun looking at this web-site. If you are buying the car outright with no trade, you can go by the prices on here at the different dealers. However, there can be a big difference in trade allowance. In my case, the dealer came up $700 from his original offer on my trade. His original offer is what I was being offered at the other dealers in the area. A month ago, I bought an EX-L 4cylinder 5 speed for 21,800 including transportation plus a $199 processing fee. The total with the processing fee was 21,999. I purchased it at Cookeville Honda in Cookeville, Tennessee. I don't know where you live, but Cookeville is mid-point, more or less, between Nashville and Knoxville. The sales manager told me that it was hard to move a four cylinder off the lot; that everyone wanted the V-6. Ask for the new car manager, if this would work for you. He will work with you on your trade. They were very easy to trade with. You will find that there is a different ball-game when you are trading. You can't go by the prices on here when they are buying the car with no trade. I told him about my trade and he told me what he would give me for it. He had not seen it and did not see it until I traded it in.

Here in AZ I've got one dealer telling me $600 under invoice, then a dealer much closer to my house (like 3 miles away) is at $250 under.

I had no idea about this dealer cash. How much is it and where's the proof?

The guy with the higher price sounded easier to deal with on the phone, and of course he's closer. I mentioned the lower price at the other dealer and he said they always sneak up on you with add-ons once you get to the dealership, but that maybe he could meet the deal.

I've got an e-mail from the lower price dealer saying no add-ons, just price + tax, lic, doc fee & tags. Window tint if I want it.

Assuming he meets the $600 under deal, is that even a great price, or just a fair deal?

Do both of these guys have room to work still?

There is no "proof", just folks have told us that this month it is up to $900 per Accord. The up to is because it is a goal based reward to the dealer and depending on how much of their goal they meet the more they get per car. The goal can be different for each dealer so we have no way to know how much they are getting per car.

Hold back on Honda is 3% of MSRP with no accessories added. So dealer cost is invoice - hold back - any dealer incentives.

You don't say which Accord you are interested in, obviously hold back on a DX is much less than hold back on a V-6 EX w/leather and NAV.

Seems like others folks in AZ have posted that the local dealers do not deal low, so a search and see.

I'm in Hackensack, NJ and have been getting quotes from dealers around the area for a Accord LX 4dr Auto Sedan. My lowest quote is $18150. Is this a good price? Also, I was quoted by one dealer for 6% sales tax, $250 for Motor vehicle, $189 for documentation, $189 Window itching, Tire maintanace $7.50.

Anyone purchase recently from this area or receive quotes different from mine? Is this a good quote, or should I be pushing for a lower price?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance! :confuse:

    bluewolf -

I took delivery of my 2005 Accord Sedan LX I-4 Automatic Transmission on 3/12/05.

I used Open Road Honda's Internet quote price as my bargaining point and a local dealer (Dobbs Honda) in Arizona matched the price.

The selling price of the vehicle was:
    $17,585 + 515 (destination)
    That was $934 under invoice!!!

Total = $18,100 + TTL. (doc fee was a whopping $249 +$362 DMV reg fees and $5 for the tire disposal fee)

The dealer included pin stripe, splash/mud guards and wheel locks at no extra charge...usually retails for about $200.

Deal went down very smootly, no presure whatsoever from the salesman.

Car runs great....BTW, I've got the payments, my wife's enjoying the new ride!!!

    Good Luck.

For someone who will be in the market for a Accord later in the year, the articles you posted bzeke were very interesting and helpful. Thank you for efforts.

You will not find a smoking deal in the Phoenix AZ metro area.

I tried to bargain with 3 dealers:

    Honda Cars of Mesa
    Showcase
    Tempe

All 3 dealers pump up their profit with a 300$ "doc fee", junk fee.

    I am going to buy a LX-manual.

Mesa was at 17,800-bare no adds
Tempe was at 17,800-bare no adds
Showcase was at 18,000-adds=tint, paint seal, etc...

Those were just first quotes, may have been a couple dollars more to wiggle.

However that 300$ "doc fee" quickly recovers their margin as it is a junk fee and nearly all pure profit for the dealer.

So I said fugg-it, and started getting quotes from LA. Bam, right off the bat started getting quoted 17,300-no adds for the car with only 45$ "doc fee".

So I called back all the AZ dealers and told them my bottom line. They played their little dealer games, but nobody could come close on price. All the dealers pretty much just held thier ground and said have fun in Cali.

So on the 27th I will be off to LA-Cali to buy my car for $800 less than I could have bought here.

Only draw back is I will burn my free tank of gas on the ride home, LOL...

Spirit Honda in El Monte will deal you a LX-auto for 18,169. Everyone who has dealt with Spirit on these boards has raving reviews about their pricing and buying experience, open honest and pleasurable.

None of those articles have any better info on specific dealer cash than what was already provided in previous posts. And it seems like some of the dealer cash is regional and changes quite often. I think end of August will be the best time to buy an 05 Accord.

$18,150 for the car, destination, and dealer fees would be a good price. Looks like in your deal they are adding $189 for doc and $189 "window etching" which makes this not as good a deal. $18,200 for the car w/destination and dealer fees would be a better price - your price is $18,528 it appears.

The other stuff you list sounds like normal NJ fees - but I don't live there so I can't be sure.

You are getting a good price (if it includes destination)....the best prices are in NJ and CA and in NJ, it usually comes from the Open Honda dealership......Dont pay for the $189 Window itching, you can do it yourself for $20. I think it's a BS price IMO

    Good Luck
