What model did you buy?
What price did you get out the door?
What options did you think added value?
What options did you think would help protect your car?
Perhaps if you posted ANY specifics, we could also see just what kind of a great deal you got.
Its strange hearing someone call their car an investment. A car looses money every single day whether you drive it or not.
A good investment makes you money daily. Many people invest for a retirement hoping to have a golden egg upon retirement.
A person calling a car an investment sounds like "car salesman" talk.
In Orange/LA County from Norm Reeves in Cerritos . . . $2500 off of dealer invoice on an Accord SE 4 cylinder automatic. . . .
Yes. . . the deals are over. . . talked to my rep today and she said that there was no one that could go lower than the $17,696 price (although to tell the truth, I paid $17,693 plus tax, title, license, and fees). . .
http://www.edmunds.com/incentives/RebateController?step=2&year=2007&make=Honda&m- - - odel=Accord&modelId=100506193&setzip=14301&state=NY
However, last month when the dealer cash was $2000 (or more) on all models, there was nothing at all listed on the Edmunds site. So, I'm not convinced there's not some extra dealer cash that has not been made "official."
OTD: $21395
Invoice for this car is 21755. That's almost $2255 less than invoice. Its not the best deal, but I think its a good deal considering the other numbers on this forum.
This is from South Bay Honda in Los Gatos, CA. (Bay Area).
Thanks for all the folks on this forum.
Got financing from my credit union. Dealer rates were not good.
I'm going to drive the 2007 Accord SE 4 cylinder AT for 2 years and then when my kid graduates from high school it will be the going to college/summer is over gift and then guess who will be getting a 2010 Honda Accord SE with the 6 banger purchased the last day of August right before Labor Day with what hopefully will be a $4,500 off of sticker price ?
Today I found the following updated prices online from an Open Road Honda (in Edison, NJ) internet sales ad. Seems like they change this every couple of days:
2007 honda ACCORD 4-DOOR AUTO TRANS(incl dest)..
VP $16,630.00 ($1578 under invoice)
LX $17,988.00 ($1575 under invoice)
SE $18,621.00 ($1575 under invoice)
EX $19,575.00 ($2179 under invoice)
EXL $20,945.00 ($2346 under invoice)
EXL NAVI $22,945.00 ($2153 under invoice)
EXL V6 $22,465.00 ($2949 under invoice)
EXL V6 NAVI $24,395.00 ($2826 under invoice)
========================================
Note: all the ABOVE prices VALID upto 30TH SEPT 07.
========================================
So, it looks like dealers should be willing to pass on all of the dealer incentives now listed on Edmunds, as well as some additional amount ($700-$1000 on the examples above) that may be due to holdback or some other incentive to get dealers to move out the remaining 2007s.
Recall a few negative postings from Ourisman on this board so it could be an employee/salesperson stating postive experiences. Sounds exactly like what a Car Saleperson would say to sell a car.
See following comments:
* Did not indicate model
* Claims Ourisman was the best deal
* Dealer had inventory on-hand
* Options are added value... (Most posters dislike additional accessories due to markup $$$$)
* Most people realize cars are not an investment
* Ourisman will service my vehicle

I could not find this information on openroad honda website either, could you provide the link?? thanks.
And I called openroad couple days ago and they said price is not including destination charge, basically they said the price, for example, EX model, should be $19575+$595. I badly need the website link if you can provide, so I can show them.
Thanks

One note. Last week's prices (end August) did state that dest was included, but I could not find this statement on this week's ad. So, for the prices I posted, the dest would have to be added. My note (incl. dest) was incorrect. I also calculated the amount under invoice for each of these models, so these would need to change as well.

keep it to yourself, and let's stick to the subject.
I think most everyone here is sticking to the subject. This forum is called Honda Accord: Prices Paid & Buying Experience.
When I first saw the post in question (#17061), I asked for specifics because nothing in the post mentioned a Honda Accord.
Other people noticed wording that did not seem quite right as well.
Someone else noticed that the account was just created and only one post was made.
This is all valuable information for those who are shopping and might consider whether to shop at the dealership in question.
Granted, we may never know who wrote the post and whether they had any affiliation to the dealership. But I do not believe it is right to scold the people who questioned the information in the post when the original poster was the one who was off topic as they did not mention anything about the Honda Accord.
Of course, if the advice isn't followed, the scolding comes later. :surprise:
Again, if you know something is amiss, please bring it to my attention via e-mail. Otherwise... well.. I wrote all that, already..
Wondering aloud if someone is a liar? That is the same thing as shouting, "YOU ARE A LIAR".
And, we don't do that here..
Any further opinions on the subject can be addressed to me in e-mail. Any further opinions on the subject posted here, will be deleted.
Thanks!

I state that I don't have transportation at the moment, but can come in later. He then sends a salesman to come pick me up. The sales person states that I will be buying a car from him today.
When I arrive at the dealership, I reject the initial offer b/c the price is too high, its the wrong color and doesn't have the options that I want. I ask the sales man to take e me back home, he says no, that I will have to take the shuttle. He then gets the sales manager, they both state that they might can come up with another offer if I wait. They disappear into the sales manager's office for nearly an offer. I wait because I don't have another ride home. During this time, I receive numerous telephone calls from other dealers.
When, my phone rings, the salesman notices it from the general manager's office, he exits the manager's office and grabs my phone. He instructs the other dealer staff to keep me off of my phone. When I leave the dealer showroom, to use my phone in the parking lot, he follows me and intercedes in my telephone conversations.
I constantly begged him to take me home b/c I am diabetic and am getting sick. Finally, the sales manager offers me the car at $2,000 under invoice in the color I want without the options that I want. I bought the car, but now regret it. I contacted my local ABC news station,I told them my story and printed out copies of emails posted here where people have complained. They are doing an investigative special on this dealership. Plus, I pulled the salesman's criminal record is a convicted felon with outstanding warrants.
I'm surprise you still purchased a car from them after the way they mis-treated you. You're buying a car, not fighting a war. It's ridiculous what people would do to make money.
Anyhow Al Gore says with global warming we won't be having any snow any more....and based on the last couple of years (laugh)....as far as NJ is concerned... he could be right in the short term.

anyway, like I said, I'm pretty sure your point was made with your first post. No need to keep hitting the board over the head with it. Just my opinion and I mean no ill will. Good luck to you in your quest.

Why not let the hosts take care of such if it is a problem? That's why they get the big bucks.
Thanks!
Not sure about what you mean by "choking" though.
Since the eighth generation Accord is now hitting stores, and since there are now 17,100 posts in this forum, wouldn't this be an opportune time to start a new Honda Accord 2008: Prices Paid & Buying Experience forum?
(We already have over 400 different discussions in Prices Paid... That's enough for me...

I'm very happy with it
Then I tried out a a friend's Accord that is a year old and the shift shock seems mellower so I am not worrying as much as I was (My camry was still smoother though).
First let me start off by saying, I am a Sales Manager for Ourisman Honda of Laurel. So if this post is not allowed, I will understand.
I have been reading the posts that have been on here lately and felt it was time to get the opposing view. Obviously my opinions are biased but no more so than the individuals who use these forums to "attack" any dealership when they feel they have been mistreated unfairly! Fair enough, everyone is entitled to an opinion and I begrudge no one for expressing their sentiments. That being said let me address a few issues that a few individuals are stating!
1) Ourisman Honda of Laurel is "banned" from the BBB. Ourisman Honda of Laurel does not belong to the BBB, it is a voluntary decision by any company to be an active or non active member of the BBB.
2) We are hiding our cars on back lots to promote the higher priced vehicles. Quite simple this is silly! We open our doors every day with one thought in mind...SELL CARS, the profit margin we have on a $15,000 vehicle is no more or less than the margin we have on a $30,000 vehicle. "Hiding cars" does not benefit us in the least!
3) We are quoting very low prices to lure individuals! There is so much information to customers on the internet that anyone with an internet connection can research how much you can pay for a vehicle! The information in most cases is free and independent of any dealership or manufacturer! You will find our prices are right in line with what your own research shows you! Do we have accessories that we put on our vehicles? YES! As do most of the dealerships around the area. Items like mud guards, wheel locks, door edge guards, fender wheel trim and pinstripes are very common items installed on vehicles. As a consumer you have the right to accept, reject or negotiate the prices on these accessories, and as a consumer you have the right to say no thank you and choose not to purchase a vehicle from us!
The intent of these forums is to help individuals purchase a vehicle, unfortunaly to many decide to use it as a sopabox to decry what they believe are injustices done on to them.
I welcome any questions that anyone might have about our dealership or purchasing a vehicle in general!
