Two weeks ago today I was able to sign the papers for the very car you're considering. I was going to get the car for Invoice + Destination Charge but agreed to pay + $250 dealer locate fee(fluff charge I know) in order to get my first color choice. All went well and I seriously enjoy this new Accord, my third. So I would think that invoice is attainable in your area. My dealer was located in Burlington, N.J.

Do you have your dealer's email address and name?

Dealer put on the clear bra (film) + lock nuts.
Went with the Honda low APR.
From your post, I decided my bottom line is $21,000, but it seems it's not that hard to achieve.
one tip, once you get them to offer a price you like ask them to throw in some stuff. trunk liner, all weather floor mats, wheel locks etc. they seemed to go for that pretty easy.
I'm in the market (Sacramento area) for a 2009/2010 Honda Accord . Unfortunately the '09 Accords are not available anymore. The price I'm getting on the 2010 Accord LX is $20,300 + TTL. Is this a good deal? 2 or 3 of the dealers refused to go below that , one of whom was quoting 20,900 refused to decrease.
Any tips on negotiating further.
Thanks,
Ram
I am in the philly suburbs and wondering which was a good dealer for Hondas. I have been planning LX-P or EX. Which dealers did you get quotes from?
I am ready to compare dealers from DC to NJ and naything in between.
2010 accord, EX-L, V6 for 26.5k (including dest fee) + taxes
2009 accord, EX-L, V6 for 25.5k (including dest fee) + taxes
I am looking for EX-L V6 model. Can someone suggest whether these prices are good, or if I should bargain more.
Thanks!
thats great. i dont know why i wasnt able to get them lower but it wasnt for lack of trying. i emailed a bunch of dealers saying i would pay 21,650, nobody bit. I had one dealer price it at 21.8 and when i went to buy she said she made a mistake and the price was 22.4. she had like 5 in stock! she let me walk. maybe somebody on here has some insight bc it left me kind of befuddled.

I had a similar experience buying an EX-L. At first they said that they would be able to bring down the price more. After about 30 minutes of haggling, they let me walk. Possibly because there was only one EX-L left, and they thought they could get a better price.
Tips- don't share what color or interior you're wanting. giving them those specifics will basically give them more leverage (they tend to gauge, play by your emotion - they want to see how badly you want that car). Tell them that you dont know what colors you want. Get the price nailed down first! Also, check online inventory. If you want an EX, go to the dealer that has a glut of those. They tend to negotiate better if they have too many of a kind. Just my $0.02
Once I figured this out and quoted $20,500 (plus tax and registration would be similar to what mclarry paid), they didn't take the offer.
I will wait till the end of the year, and bug them every week with a price of $20,500.
Send me the info on your dealer....both the one in Penn and one that is 40 miles away.
This is a dealer add on- nothing more. Etching is good if you live in an area with high auto theft rates, otherwise I'd say skip it.
If Jersey dealers aren't willing to work with you on this - don't be afraid to get some online quotes from other Honda dealers in neighboring states. Good luck.
This site was so helpful two years ago when I leased my wife's BMW 5 Series and previously with an Audi Q7 purchase. I literally saved thousands. I guess the question I have is what amount should be our goal off sticker, or how much above invoice?
I noted one post that stated $250 above invoice. Is that realistic?
Thanks everyone, and look forward to your response.
Yesterday, I went to the dealer and test drove the car. The quote seems to be $500 below invoice. The taxes and other minor fees seems to add up to $3k and extended warranty comes out to $1.5k for (8yr/120k). So, the total price tags seems to be 31k.
This sounds too much for a Honda. What are your thoughts?
Thanks.
Even if there is $600 holdback the dealer is losing money. Dealers NEVER lose money.

Therefore the accurate quote is $29,192, for the 2010 Accord Sdn EX-L V-6 w/Navigation. It sure didn't seem possible they would sell this car that cheap.
Sorry for posting the wrong price quote.
I simply do not believe some of the under cost quotes floated here. there are no incentives on the car except for 1.9% financing. Why would a dealer sell at a loss? Used cars? Service? ................If they cannot make a profit on selling new cars what are they in that business for? They can just open a used car lot and service center and cut their overhead by 2/3rds.
2-3% profit is a fair price in my book and makes for a better experience overall. I don;t need $500 that bad to grind the dealership to a pulp. I have always made 2-3% over true dealer cost my final offer. They all will take it. Easy deal.
This was really the only "push-back" I experienced through the whole deal. I never spoke to the salesman except to schedule the delivery. Everything else was email.
This method has worked for me time and again.

2009 Honda Accord EX-L
Selling Price: $22,000
Splash Guards: 135
Total: 22,135
Tax on Total: 1,383.43
Documentation: 329
Plates/Reg: 125
Total Out the Door: $23,972.43
OK, so here's what happen after the test drive. We sat down with the Internet/Fleet Mngr. He gave us a pretty good price quote of $29,738.00. I told him that was not an acceptable offer, and showed him the quote we had received from the Portland Dealer. Bottom line is that they matched the offer of $29,000.000. As I understand it, the invoice cost on the EX-L V-6 w/navi is $28,892. So when the Mud Flaps ($135) and All Weather Floor Mats ($142), are added, this makes our purchase at about actual invoice. When the prices of the two accessories are added to the car, I think we made an outstanding deal, on a great car.
What we got for that price:
2010 Honda EX-L V-6 w/navi
Installed Mud Flaps
All Weather Floor Mats
Lic. & Title
OTD Price: $29,083.00
