I know it's not unsual for the dealer to be quoting a higher money factor but is it unusual that they are quoting a 52% residual for 48 months and 59% for 36 months (both at 10K miles per year)?

Purchasing AudiCare adds 1% to the residual, so maybe that's it?

Also, that .00175 MF is only good up to 42 months.... 48 month leases use the standard money factor.

Nope, the numbers have changed for October...

S3 Premium Plus - .00167 and 59%/60% for 36/12 and 36/10.

Audi doesn't provide as much support on their leases as BMW does.

Numbers are the same... yes, AudiCare adds 1% to the residual. Yes, numbers are from Audi.

Prem + - 67% or 60%

Prestige - 65% or 58%

.00167 MF for both. AudiCare adds 1% to the residual.

Hello. Just checking in since it's December now. Do you have MF and residuals for a Premium Plus S3, 12k and 15k miles options?

In terms of time frame, I'm unsettled on that. 24 would be the shortest, and 42 would probably be the longest, unless there are better rates for one of the more uncommon timeframes.

Advice appreciated. I haven't leased in years, and typically purchase, but this is just a commuter car for my wife, so we are considering a lease again--particularly because this is a new, untested model.

MSRP: $50,400
Negotiated price: 47,380
Net Cap Cost (down payment offset by acquisition, dealer fees,etc) - $47,218
36 months, 12,000 miles
Money Factor: .00190
Residual: $29,736
Mo Payment (before tax): $632.24

Is that the best they can do? Money factor seems elevated to me.

You don't mention the lease term .. base MF is either .00167 (up to 36 months) or .00187 (longer than 36 months).

Correct - the dealer is allowed to mark up the MF for extra profit.

What should MF and residual be?

Dealer quoted 57% and a .00142 MF. Does that sound about right?

S3 Premium Plus for 36/12 - .00102 and 57%. Dealer is marking up the MF for extra profit (which they are allowed to do).

Generally, 6% off MSRP is good for Audi, aside from any possible incentives.

Audi does not inflate their residuals to make the lease payments more attractive.

Very rarely is the actual value of a BMW or Lexus close to the residual value at the end of a lease; this is deliberate to get you into the next lease.

I don't feel like that BMW raises their residuals to be exactly true. If you look at the current lease offer on BMW's website for a 335i it's MSRP is 51,400. The Purchase option at end of the lease is 32,382 which would put the residual at 63%. It's a 10k per year and 39 months. When looking around online 2012 335i's (2012 MY because 39 months in the past would put us at Nov 2011) seem to retail at around the 32k mark.

Of course that's just an example and from what I've read kyfdx really knows his stuff! I've learned a lot about leasing just from lurking on this forum.

Agreed - my co-host is more knowledgeable with this ... he's leased premium cars in the past and knows their programs pretty well.
