How far you are willing to travel is up to you, but if you do go out of your state, you need to confirm that there will be no double sales tax charge. In most cases, you only have to pay your county's sales tax rate, but there are some exceptions.
Your best deal is the one in your area, so someone's deal 2,000 miles away isn't very helpful. The site at carbuyingtips dot com is a good reference source, especially for first time car buyers. Good luck with your bargaining. I'll shortly be in the market again myself.
Anyone find a good deal on an '09 Camry LE I-4 with automatic in the front range of Colorado? Take care.
Ralph
One of the LA delaer ready to match it if I provide the ad paper.I really appreciate your help.thanks
Just because you found a LA dealer who is willing to price match doesn't guarantee you will get this price. In my experience, after more than five new car purchases, dealers always say "yes," but finally at the end, it will not be at this exact price you desire. They just want your business. The dealer I bought my Camry from was at Longo Toyota, world's largest Toyota dealer, always say "yes" to ad match, but when you arrive over there, they will find an excuse to raise the price a little, like, (this is the most recent manufacturer's date, this is the only color we have in-stock, this one only has less than 5 miles on the odometer and is not test driven, this is the only Made in Japan Toyota in-stock, this is not the same MSRP, etc...). I fall into the victim of "this is the only Made in Japan Camry in-stock") raising $1,200 more ($18,600) than the ad price I showed to the saleman from Hooman Toyota of Long Beach. I should have rejected this deal, but there was only one Made in Japan Camry LE in silver color existed in the whole Southern California, and I could not go to other Toyota dealers. On the other hand, many previous Longo Toyota buyers did get theirs for less than $17,500 if they did not fall into one of five criterias above.
Good luck and always be alert with dealers' dirty selling practices.
V6-Le
For comparitive purposes, above is a V6-LE w/JBL and Alum wheels, for no hassle pricing of 22,086.
Subtract 600 cost for the JBL, and 260 for the alum wheels, but add back in 400 for VSC...and your target price would be in the range of 21,650 give or take.
The DC area is a more competitive geographic area, but it's a depressed selling market everywhere.
Good luck
Now I know why
09 camry LE in silver
$19797 + tax, dmv, document fee w/ 0% 36 months (or can get $18797 after $1000 rebate which ended last night)
if choose black or white (those two colors are on clearence), $19588 + tax & fees w/ 0% 36 months OR $18588 after $1000 rebate.
sales person was nice from Internet dept.
I live a little north of Pittsburgh. The deal closest to Baierl me has some of the highest prices in the state. They are in the Costco's program, but I think that just brings them closer to in line with out dealer.
I went to the BuyToyota.com site and it side there is a $1000 rebate for "qualified" buyers in my zip code. How could I not qualify for a rebate? The rebate runs until Dec. 1, 2008. I check a few zip codes in Ohio and the rebate did not show up there. I check two in Maryland. The $1000 rebate was listed for the Maryland zips I checked.
I saw posts about the auto malls near DC. I've never been to an auto mall. What is it like? What are the disadvantages of going to an auto mall? It would be about a 280 mile drive for me. Is it worth it?
My car got rejected for state inspection, It will cost $550.00 to get repairs done with labor and parts. I've got a high mileage 2002 Camry with 112,000 on it and a lot of little dings. The Edmund's trade in says to worth ~$3000 with out inspection pass and ~$4200 with. The blue book trade values were lower like 3,800 with the repairs and inspection sicker. Is it worth getting the repairs done or should I just get drive of it as is?
Check out www.fitzmall.com, look at their Chambersburg Pa location, a couple hours from you. A little closer than going all the way to DC.
I am looking for one myself, but am being roadblocked by dealers -- even their internet departments; I've repeatedly had the "best price" quote to be in the ballpark of 19,000.
Any suggestions or referrals?
LE 4cyl auto, $19000 + $720 ( destination ) + TTL .
Then you can choose $750 cash back or 0% finance.
Other dealers are $100 - $300 more.
$19000 is about $370 below invoice. Not bad, but not as good as CA. There as above post, it is $17500 ( I don't know whether $17500 include deliever fee or not. I think it has include cash back incentive already).
It seems the price hold well in chicago area, toyota dealers are not hurry to sell the inventory yet.
If you are a good negotiator, I blieve you can get price down $200 ~ $300. But hard to get much better.
Good luck
I am very curious.
I think dealer in CA can save part of the delivery fee($720) as profit. Based on edmunds.com, the invoice of a camry LE 4 cyl auto is $19376. Remove the dealer hold back. There still has a big gap between $17000 and $19376.
Also beware that many dealers are unwilling to offer the special financing rates after simply adding back onto the price the 1000 rebate. This was specifically the case with Toyota of Orange after they quoted me $17,565, which is a pretty good price for someone paying cash. Problem is I suggested low 18's with 2.9 financing and received a flat rejection. Instead, the dealer offered me 7% financing in insisting they would not honor Toyota's special finance rates for such a low priced car. No thanks.
Bottom line is, one should read with a grain of salt all of these super low price posts. Invoice of a Camry LE is, as stated, 19,300. If you can buy a Camry with special financing at 1000+ under invoice.. I'd say you did pretty good.
I received a quote of 18,788+TTL for this car and I am paying cash. Is this a good price? Thanks in advance!
Nick
I just bought one yesterday for around 18,000 and financed on the 2.9% special apr. This was a "loss leader" car, advertised in the newspaper on Friday morning.
If I were you, and if possible, I would wait until next weekend, check the Friday paper, and see if there are any LE's on special. Regardless, if you wait a few days and tell the dealer you think you can do better--especially on a cash purchase--he'll probably drop his price as well.
Good luck, these are excellent cars, even coming from a BMW.
I am interesting in getting the 0% APR and trade in my 1996 Camry.
Is this a good deal? Any advice or tips is appreciated. Thanks!
FYI: I live in North Hollywood, CA.
I'm not sure what LEs with the moonroof package are going for but my inclination is that you can still do better than 20.9. With the moonroof package, I would shoot for 19-19.5. Good luck.
