Picked up my G37X today with all wheel drive, premium package, trunk mat, splash guard, and cargo net. MSRP 39,230.

Out the door today $31,995 with $199 doc fee.

Everybody's posts helped me negociate the price so I'm posting hoping to help someone else out. Also remember that the sales tax is a deduction until the end of the year.

    Thanks to everyone.

"Out the door today $31,995 with $199 doc fee. "

that is an incredible price. Mine, like yours but with navigation, came out to be over $36K (with 6% tax).

so you got a bargain of the century.

Looks like an incredible price. Would you mind sharing the location where you purchased? If so, you can e-mail me at schoe10@gmail.com

Picked up a blue slate/graphite '09 sedan in Houston. Premium, kickplates, splash guards, impact sensor. MSRP of $37,755, got for $31,400 with own financing. Driveout price ended up being $33,715 after TTL (6.25% tax in Texas). I believe, it's $3479 under invoice and plus I got some freebies, so I feel very good especially since I was picky on colors/options.

Don't know how much we can post here about our experiences with dealers, but if you're in Houston, feel free to email me. I dealt with 3 of the 4 (Clear Lake one never responded to my inquiries) and the sales person at the one I went with was refreshingly nice and helpful. :D

    To nl09

The price I paid for a 2009 G37X with premium, splash guards, trunk mat, and cargo net with a MSRP of $39,230 was $31,995 with a $199 doc fee. This of course was before TTL, but the above was the total paid to the dealer and I was on my way. This came out to about $4,200 UNDER invoice, which was similar to a couple other people's prices for the last week of the year. I just told them I saw some other people getting this amount under invoice and I wanted the same. It probably didn't help that the two St. Louis dealers have 30 of these cars each on the lot. You probably can look at your dealership's web page and see if they have 2 or 50 of these cars. If they have a bunch I would shoot them a low price and hang tough, dealer admitted he prefers to have these cars gone before Jan 1.

Also this was a cash deal with no dealer financing. You couldn't get this deal using their financing. I bought it from Plaza Infiniti in St. Louis.

Thanks for the response and clarification, I misunderstood you in that I assumed the $31,995 included taxes & title (still an incredible price!). I am in the Houston area so we shall see how motivated the dealers are in the next few days...

Just got a new deal from my infiniti dealer. They offered another 500 off the current 3500 below invoice price. Damn, I really was trying to hold out for a 2010 6MT. But at 33853 + TTL, I'm having a hard time. Also, they only have 3 cars with those options.

So, does anyone who has a Sport 7AT like the paddle shifters? They seem to shift about 1 second or more after I click them. This could be because they are new cars and the computer has not self-adjusted. It is very annoying when the shift takes another second to change the gears. Also, it down shifts for you as you slow which started making me not use the manual controls. So if someone who owns one of these could comment on it I would very much appreciate it.

NL09, if you want to shoot me an email to iyagolnikov[at]gmail[dot]com, I'll give you a scoop on my experience with all four dealerships in Houston. Until last night when I picked up my car, I'd spent two weeks or so negotiating with all of them.

I guess, at this point it's also about which dealership has a car you like, but I can refer you to my sales person and if you drop my name/deal details, you should be able to skip past all the haggling, start off at my price (see my post earlier today), and try to improve on it :)

I'm really grateful to all the people who have posted here, so I want to do my part to make sure people score a good deal!

Hi. I just found this forum today and have been reading for about 5 hours. During this time I have gained great insight and tips that I have already started using. While I have not purchased my car, wanted to share my experience thus far.

I started this process the only way I knew, visiting the dealership! A co-worker helped me move into the new age and suggested getting offers via the internet. As a result, I started last week. Here are the offers I've received so far in the ATL metro area through yesterday:

    Dealer 1
    G37 prem/nav
    32,463
    G37 premium
    31,288
if credit score above 700, dealer financing of 4.45% on above prices

    Dealer 2
    G37 prem/nav
    32,446
    G37 premium
    30,584

    Dealer 3
    G37 prem/nav
    31,888
    G37 prem
    TBD

    Dealer 4
    TBD

These prices are before Tax, Tag, & Title (is this "TTL"-?)

Based on what I've seen so far, these are pretty darn good! :shades:

    SK84FunGirl,

I highly advise you to ask for driveout (aka OTD or out-the-door) prices. Different dealers have different fees they will charge you on top of the car price & sales tax. Because we - customers - got so smart and know the invoice & incentives, charges like "document fee" are ways for dealers to make money off us. My dealer charged me about $144, but others charge $500.

Also, 4.45% sounds a little high for the highest tier. Call Bank of America - I believe, a few weeks ago their rate was 3.79%. A local credit union is also a good place to look for a loan.

Finally, if you have a trade-in, remember to be careful and get a fair value for it :)

    Good luck!
  • sk84fungirlsk84fungirl Member Posts: 7
    Thank you rusdude.

Can you elaborate on what OTD includes? I have in my notes that one dealer included a $499 documentation fee in their price. That was Dealer 1.

So as I get the internet quotes, I want them to give me an OTD quote that should include EVERYTHING but TTL?
  • millwood0millwood0 Member Posts: 451
OTD prices are good for comparing dealers from dealers but have zero value comparing regions to regions.

What really matters is the prices you paid before TTL. (P+TTL). When I shop for cars, I always ask dealers to quote me prices before TTL. How much they make doesn't matter to me as long as I get to the lowest price (before TTL).
  • sfukrsfukr Member Posts: 13
Orange County CA. local dealer quoting G37 Journey with Premium pkg. Anyone do any better? Is this a good deal?
How much lower do you think I can get them? All advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  • sk84fungirlsk84fungirl Member Posts: 7
    Thanks millwood.

I've already had an ATL dealer respond to my request for an OTD quote (yes, on a Sunday night!)

The OTD price for a 2009 g37 premium is $30, 543. The price for premium with NAV is $32,430. Of course I will then have to add TTL.

Anyone on here purchased in the Atlanta market? Doesn't seem too bad but I am going to check with the 5 other dealers tomorrow. Ready to wrap this process up!!!

    I was offered a 09 G37 with premium,sport,and nav for 1.9 for 66mths for $37K.
let me know if this is good.
    thanks

Ok I found a few 2010 G37x in California. Why can't my local dealership in VA have it shipped here? They wont get any until Feb they are saying yet they are already in inventory in Cal.

Anyone know why this is? I called more then one and they all say the same thing.
  • jpfivejpfive Member Posts: 37
    My understanding of current incentives:
    - $1,000 loyalty
    - $2,500 marketing support (purchase w/ non subsidized financing)

Dealer told me everyone was eligible for $1,000 cash back, but lease could not get the $2,500 additional incentive. But appears lease isn't even eligible for $1,000 if not current Infiniti owner (I'm not). For what incentives are leases actually eligible?

My current best offer for a Journey w/ premium is $1,250 under invoice, which may be a better deal than I thought if I can't actually get these incentives on a lease.
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
Sometimes Infiniti will deliver the new vehicles to which ever part of the country has the lowest amount of inventory on the old models. We have 2010s on our lot right now (in Texas). So, if Virginia has a ton of 2009s - they will wait a few more weeks before dropping off the 2010s...this actually helps the dealers.
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
What the dealer told you is correct. Infiniti canceled the $1000 Loyalty Rebate and replaced it with $1000 Holiday Cash - so everyone gets it (not just current owners). And this Holiday Cash is good on a lease or with special financing.

So, if they are offering you $1250 below invoice - they are using the $1000 Holiday Cash and losing $250 - it is a good cap cost.

PS There is a forum for G leases that has much more info on it. :)

Hi there was this the X version?
  • bmore74bmore74 Member Posts: 1
I was offered 32.5 for a preowned 09 G37X with Nav and 11K miles. The asking price was 34.9. I would have to pay TT&L. Should I keep negotiating?
  • jpfivejpfive Member Posts: 37
I ran some numbers and it turns out that this dealer is adding back about $1,000 in dealer fees to what he's calling selling price cost. So basically offering $750 over invoice (including destination) before $1,000 incentive. Definitely not good enough.

Not sure how low I can get selling price before incentives. On this board, I've seen $500 and $700 below invoice in the past couple days. Though not clear if those are "true" invoice or some inflated invoice with dealer add-ons, etc.
  • hubie79hubie79 Member Posts: 6
    yes this is the G37X
  • carbokcarbok Member Posts: 11
How much to ship it to VA? :)

Got an offer on a 2009 xS Premium and Nav for a little over 38k No money down first month payment 523 39month 15k miles. Should I wait for the 10s or pull the trigger?
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
Price is but one factor of the lease, there are the terms (months, miles per year) plus the money factor, any deposit required, etc

If you focus only on the price, you may get a vehicle from the dealer with the best "price" but pay more per month on your lease because of the other factors.

So, do this - ask the dealers you are working with to run you a lease with $1000 due at signing (covers your first payment and title/license fees) for xxx amount of miles per year (15k is normal). And ask what the monthly payment will be on a 39 month lease. This is the number you should be shopping, not the sale price. :)
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
From where - obviously the further away the car is the more it will cost. If you are looking to lease (aka rent) - I would get a 2009, the monthly savings outweighs the minor differences in the vehicle.

Think of it like renting an apartment, one has crown molding the other doesn't, the one with crown molding was just finished out while the other one was finished out 2 weeks ago but no one has rented it yet. The rent difference is $100 per month...how bad do you want that crown molding???

I purchased a 2009 g37x premium with navigation in blue slate / charcoal last Saturday. They originally wanted MSRP ($42, 315)..then came back at $39,000..then $37,000...then $35,900. I said I wanted to walk out at $35,000. They came back again and said how about free tinting instead. I accepted. This also includes $995 worth of 3m door guard, nitro in the tires, and wheel locks. (which they do to every car apparently..and is nowhere worth $995 despite what they were telling me)

I was happy with the deal and love the car. I was also impressed that when I asked what their invoice price was they printed off the invoice and it matched what I had from this site (right around $38,000). So, 35,900 with nitro, wheel locks, 3m door guard, and tinting was pretty good in my opinion. Dealer was in Denver and had about 45 g37xs in stock (including 6 in blue slate)
  • carbokcarbok Member Posts: 11
I get the family and friends pricing. So either way I think it will be the same price. The only difference is it will be without the 1000 holiday cash if I wait until they get one. It invoice minus the 1k and the best rate for the lease since my credit rating is high. I cannot get the extra 2500 because then I will lose the special lease rate.

Purchased a 2009 G37x AWD Sedan w/Preium and Navigation for $33,800 + $190 doc fee, tax, title in Ann Arbor, MI. Dealer had only 2 cars with these options, so I am satisfied with price. Local dealer didn't approach this until I started looking at Dayton, Columbus, Cleveland - then immediately fell in lineI believe that Ohio dealerships are loaded with 09's, so great deals may be available there. The car I purchased had just arrived from Dayton.
Any thoughts on the value of the add-ons offered by dealership - paint/chip protection? extended warranty? seat protection?
Many thanks to all who posted - you helped me save many $$$$.

I bought my 2009 G37 sedan today in Houston. I got Liquid Platinum with Graphite interior, premium package, navigation, alarm impact sensor, illuminated kick plates, and trunk mat. I paid $33,263 before TT&L. Invoice (per Edmunds) was $36,523, but per the dealer was $36,775 (there was a $240 charge that I wasn't familiar with). I was willing to pay a little more than invoice less $3500, and wound up paying $3260 less than invoice (per Edmunds). I gave them the additional $240 that they said they had in the car, but nothing more.

This site was a tremendous help in my preparation and negotiations. Hopefully this post will help someone else out that is still looking.
  • sk84fungirlsk84fungirl Member Posts: 7
Here is the most recent offer I've received for a G37 Sedan Premium:

    OTD including TTL = $32,450

Previous offer from a different dealer was $32,560

    Both offers include TTL.

The dealer with the CURRENT lowest offer contacted me today and I told him they were almost $1K above my lowest offer and no longer in the running. I also indicated the other dealer had a larger and more varied inventory and was offering several accessories. (All true!) I then received the 32,450

At this point, we have not discussed trade. I will discuss that when I get to the dealership.

Anything else I should be prepared for in the way of upsells, etc? I am going to communicate throughout the evening to see if I get any other offers. Thinking I will not "shut-off" any others at this point in case things dont work out with the lowest offer. Fortunately in this market, I have several options. ;)

Going to plan to visit the dealership with the lowest offer tomorrow to allow myself a couple of days to get to another location if things dont work out here.
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
If your VPP, then that will close the gap; so you lose out on $1000 Holiday cash that you mentioned plus the money factors are better on 09 than 10; however, the residual is better on the 2010 - but the 2010 cost more - Infiniti raised the price. So, it will probably save you a few bucks to lease a 2009.
  • genester1genester1 Member Posts: 14
Rcentelon, would you mind sharing which Ohio dealers you contacted. I am looking to buy in Cincinnati, and was offered a higher price (granted, without much negotiation, yet).

I am looking for a 2009 G37x AWD Sedan w/Premium - quote was $33,300 on a $39,230MSRP, $36,127 invoice vehicle. Obviously, $33,800 +TTL for the same car with NAV is awesome. Thanks in advance!

I live in Atlanta and I am looking at the G37. Visited Roswell dealer today and liked what I saw. Comparing to the 2010 TL. Can you e-mail me who you are dealing with? jts1910msncom?

Did you buy from Infiniti of Denver or over at Mike Ward? I live up in Ft. Collins and I am torn between buying an Audi A4 or a G37x. Do you mind sharing what you looked at and how you came to your decision? I love the looks of the A4 but the Infiniti seems to be a better car for the money. Thanks for any insight you can share!
  • members78members78 Member Posts: 140
i was also torn between the G and A4/A5. the audi has more elegant styling, and the lighting on their car is top notch. i love their daytime LEDs, LED taillights, and side mirror blinkers. their interiors are the best imo though their buttons are less intuitive to use. and their navigation is beautiful to behold.

but to get all the bells & whistles, you'd have to pony up about $10k more than a comparable G. even with the top level, the A4 engine is still weaker than the G, although it is more fuel efficient. and the G is more athletic and handles better than the A4. maybe with the audi dynamic mode, the handling is comparable.

so while the audi is flashier, it's more expensive. scratch beneath the surface, and the G proves to be more fun at a more affordable price point. i think theyre both pretty reliable, so that makes your decision difficult. let us know what you choose.

I could not agree more. I've learned more in the past 2 hours on this site than I have in over 10 hours on other sites. I feel much more equipped to walk back into the dealership knowing what they have in "fluff" and if they're confused, I've printed out of couple of examples from the website for reference. Thanks to everyone for your input ... it makes this process much easier!
  • punesguypunesguy Member Posts: 11
I agree on all of your points. The big pill to swallow is the price differenctial. The Audi dealer after the 2nd visit is at $39.2 ($800 over invoice) and isn't going to budge much. According to this site, people are getting the G for the low to mid 30's with a few more extras. I'm leaning toward the G if they are willing to come down that far but I'll be sure to post my experience. Thanks again!
  • millwood0millwood0 Member Posts: 451
    "OTD including TTL = $32,450 "

that is an incredible price. that means that you are really getting the car for 29-30k before TTL.

I would say that you should grab it before the dealer changes his mind.
  • jcbagginsjcbaggins Member Posts: 4
Mike Ward. I think I decided against the A4 because they seem to be everywhere in south Denver and seemed smaller to me then the G37x. Also, everytime I would configure a fully loaded one it would come out a lot higher then the G37x, so I decided against it. I think I would prefer the A6, but those are also everywhere and a lot more expensive then the G. I don't feel like the G37x is the M's little brother, it truly feels like a different car with a different purpose. I feel like the A4 is just a smaller A6 and wouldn't be happy with it.

They had a fully loaded g37x sport in blue slate, stone, but the seats were uncomfortable and I didn't really like the paddle shifters. Also, the stone makes the dash two-tone so it looked a lot smaller inside. I didn't really want a dark interior car, but the sales person convinced me to sit in one because the way a single color works on the eyes it makes the interior seem bigger. She was right! I test drove the fully loaded non-sport and really liked it. Plus, I have my first child on the way so darker seats (spills) and the tinted window they threw in suddenly seemed appealing to me.

Anyone get any deals on 2010's yet?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2010 G37x Rosewood, Premium, Navigation, Illum Kick Plates, Impact Sensor, First Aid kit, Trunk Mat

    List is 42,231

Anyone think I'll be able to get the dealer down anything more than $500?

I've got great credit, and they don't know I'm am going to pay cash, I will be using a credit card to charge some of it ($2-5k) to get miles, but it will be paid off the next day.

    Any tips? Suggestions? Well wishings?
  • millwood0millwood0 Member Posts: 451
"I feel like the A4 is just a smaller A6 and wouldn't be happy with it."

it depends on your preference. in our shopping, we ruled out the A5 because of its flashy exterior. We ruled out the A6 because it is a little bit too big for us. the G to us is just right.

However, we do have a preference for smaller cars, everything else being equal.
  • jcbagginsjcbaggins Member Posts: 4
That's true. To be honest, if the A4 fully loaded came anywhere near the price of a G37x fully loaded, I may have looked a little closer. I do think Audi has the nicest interior of any car and the LED headlights are cool, but it's about 10k more when all is said and done. With the 2010 G37x hitting already, the 2009 is a steal right now and that pushed my hand.

Also, I do see a lot more A4s on the road and very few G37s (some G35s) so I liked that exclusive factor as well.
