Not sure about the tax thing. You should get charged sales tax based on the final price (after all discounts) - not before.

You got a fantastic deal on your car ( close to $4500 under invoice). In Bay Area (CA), most of the dealers are offering $3500 under invoice. I have not found anyone going below that. Let me know if anybody has got better deal here.

Where did you get 33,970 ? The best I heard today was 34,300 on MSRP of 41,400 so seems like it has a few adds ons beyond the nav and premium. That's in the kill zone so I'll pop by tomorrow. I'd be ok with that price as is since I need them to take my trade in. It's a loaded '07 328xi that I can't freakin' give away because it's a 6 speed manual...awesome car that unfortunately no one appreciates. Oh well.

I got $4300 back of invoice on my '09 G37 Sedan Journey + Premium, but I'm pretty sure that was a mistake (mix up between the sales manager and used car manager re: the price they offered on my trade). $4500 back of invoice seems pretty crazy-good.

I don't know if this is true or not. One of the salesman mentioned that there are two $2500 cash incentives. But he was offering this discount on MSRP (not good!). When I talked to his manager, he offered me std. $3500 off invoice. Anyways, I am going to wait for some more time.

I'm looking to purchase a 2009 G37 convertible. With options, Edmunds has it priced at $50,855 (MSRP) $46,682(invoice) and $47,141(what others are paying) my local dealership has it listed at $53,000! Firstly, how seriously should I take this price and secondly if I put down $20,000 and finance the rest, does this give me any leverage in negotiation? I'd like to pay below invoice or close to.

I think you should be able to closer to invoice with the weather and all. Around $3000 off. As for putting money down for leverage - that really does not change anything to the dealer, because the dealer gets all the money the day they sell it - either from the bank or the customer.

the car is identical to yours, awd+premium+navigation. msrp is 41380 per the dealer.

we are paying 33895+ttl.

we also had a lease option that we didn't exercise: $440/month (tax included), or about $420/month before tax, zero down, and sign off payment of just $1100 (including 1st month payment).

Hi everyone, This is my first post and I appreciate your help. I have been reading this forum with interest the last few months and I am ready to purchase a 2009 g37 sedan w/premium & nav. I would appreciate price info from anyone who has recently purchased a similar vehicle in south florida. I am planning to purchase the week after Christmas. Is this a good strategy, or would buying now or in January 2010 result in a lower price? There seems to be a good inventory of cars equipped w/prem & nav at the local deals.

Sales tax is on new car purchases up to $45,000 is deductible on your federal return in 2009. You'll lose that deduction if you wait to January.

thats true the sales tax credit is only available for 2009. if you are in the 25% tax bracket, then you would save 25% off the sales tax. so say your sales tax is $2000, you would save $500.

Above and beyond the price of the car, remember that if you purchase and take possession of the car before Dec. 31, 2009, you qualify for the federal government tax deduction on your income tax. Google: Auto ownership tax assistance amendment. That will help you.

So it looks like Journey Sedan's MSRP went up by $750 (from $33,700) but Premium Package went down $350 (from $2,500). Seems '09 is a good deal unless dealers wants to knock down $3-4K off MSRP on '10 (I can hear SewellGSM laughing at my suggestion, hehe).

But what's 'Int Accent Pkg"? Is that maple wood trim?

Yes - the interior accents package is the high gloss Maple interior accents. You have to have Wheat interior and has some other crazy requirements.

It does look like they are including all of the Prem but the ACCS. So that's not bad then. Hopefully invoice will be below 34500 and Infiniti will add a 2500 incentive early next year.

Hey there folks in Boston city limits. Had very nice experience with right-in-town dealer. This was unexpected of course - but wow Just took delivery of platinum graphite 09 G37x sedan with premium, nav and wood trim. Includes the mats, net and splash guards; msrp with dest was $41,980 but got out the door for $33,200. Dealer also gave me a very agreeable deal on my trade in.

Mind you this was the dealer owner's car but it only had 5K miles on it; plus dealer installed the clear, plastic protector on front bumper, side mirrors and door edges. Original goal wasn't to buy a demo; and was originally quoted $34K for a brand new G but without wood or bumper protector.

Car colors and choices were starting to get slim - you could get a sport package but only in white. The wood trim is pretty much gone - wasn't looking for that either but it looks sharp with black leather. I highly recommend checking out the in-town Infiniti dealer. Ask for Jose.

See my post of 12/4 (Post #9076) for the deal I was able to get at Ann Arbor Infiniti. In fact I just picked up my G37x last Friday (love it). I can't comment on the offer you have received without knowing what options/packages are included. Also, as you know from reading this forum, there are various dealer incentives (up to $3500 on the Sedan)) some of which ($2500) available only if you do NOT utilize the special Infiniti financing.

I'm getting a quote for $33,100. Seemed like a good deal until I read some of the other posts. It seems like it should be more around 32k. Any ideas on what dealers I need to talk to? I don't mind going out of state for a deal. Sick of the two dealers in Denver.

Don't know about any financing or dealer cash yet nor have we heard if the 2010 will be eligible for VPP (usually it is a couple months after release).

Thats the one level that you cant find in the 2009's right now, it was the first to sell out.

What would be an outstanding price for a G37 journey sedan and or sport priced w/o any options?

Hi everyone, i am new here.
I tested drive my friend's G35x sedan and found the steering wheel is so heavy compared with my current rwd huyndai. But is this better in G37x sedan?
I know It's normal that awd steering wheel is always heavier (tighter) than rwd's. I guess i am the only one in the globe caring about this which let me hesitate to buy G37x or G37 journey.
Also, does anyone leaving in queens, NY have nice buying experience (good price & no tricks) dealing with any dealer nearby?

23,400 miles/Blue Slate with black interior/Nav and Pre Package. Splash Guards and Illuminated Kick Plates were thrown in as part of the deal. $29,990 before tax. Pretty happy.

Sorry, but I think it's a horrendous deal. I've seen '09's with Nav and half the mileage go for about the same or a bit more (check inifiniti of nashua as one example) and brand new '09s equipped the same for under $34k.

1st test drive of G37 Journey with premium today. Dealership in fairly large city was a ghost town on a Friday afternoon.
-MSRP was 37,675 which includes some add-on junk like nitrogen inflated tires (normal is 37,065)
-price was 34,308 (close to normal invoice of 34,172)+acquisiiton fee of 595, so 34,903 gross cap cost (not sure if this fee is on top of destination...bogus?)
-1,500 1st month (includes taxes, 1st month, 100 down and 599 documentation fee...bogus?)
-39 month, 15k/yr residual was 20,047 (~54%)
-Not sure of MF, but payment before tax was 440

Granted, I didn't negotiate at all, this was just test drive but this doesn't seem like a good deal--though comparable to corporate advertised offer. Looking at other posts, appears that 1000 under invoice is typical for a lease and perhaps 2000 under invoice would be a great deal. I'm in central Florida.

1. Are these fees outside delivery bogus?
2. Is 0 cap cost reduction and 400/mo pre-tax for premium package achieveable?

Question for the gallery, does anyone have a view on what a "fantastic deal" would be for one of these executive demo cars. Lets say for a car that has 5-10K miles on it already, what discount should one expect below invoice price to compensate for this (before any customer or dealer incentives)? Appreciate anyone's pespective on this.

Just back from some dealers and the best quote so far i get is $33,500 (MSRP $39,780, Invoice$35,497) for new 09 G37x with premium package, wood trim, splash guard, trunk mat.
But that price is NOT based on $2,500 incentives because it's not cash deal. I will finance the car.

So i am wondering because it's $2,000 off the invoice and close to incentive package which is $2,500 off with cash only deal.

Is it a good price to pull trigger? Or still room to negotiate.

I will finance the car through dealer's financing dept.
My credit score is not lower than 720 (checked last month). What is a decent APR i can accept?
