PS Competition is a huge dealer, always finishing in the Top 5 in the Nation. Sounds like they have great prices along with a great service department - good combination.
Always appreciated your contribution to this forum. Glad can return the favor for once.
First off, I think you may get somehow skewed picture by asking at this forum -- this thread particularly. Price can easily be the single most important factor for patrons here. It is to me.
The internet has revolutionized the car shopping. One may not even need to step into a showroom until the deal is done. Plus, you don't necessarily service your car at the dealership where you purchased from. Therefore, some or most of the traditional attributes of a dealer play little role in choosing a dealer.
Aside from price, I would say the most important factor is the salesperson with whom I communicated -- whether by email or in person. Straight forward and no BS, responsive, courtesy, and make you feel they value your business. You asked what is that worth. To me, I would be willing to pay up to $300 extra above my target price.
So train your sales associates well. To most customers, they are the face of the dealership by which their opinion on the dealership is formed.
NJ Purchase
2010 G37X AWD Premium Package (No Navigation)
MSRP $39,790
Sale Price $34,211 + Tax and Reg
Did I do ok?
Could you tell me which dealer? Your price does not include navi - if I am reading your post correctly.
Thanks
After extensive negotiations, my dealer said the best he could do was $38,883 for a G37x w/ Premium Package, Trunk Carpet, Cargo Net and Wood trim ( No NAV), 15k mi $459/mo. I'm ready to walk. Where did you get yours? I'm in North Jersey and willing to travel a bit. Thanks.
If you don't like negotiation process, try car buying sites/services, such as carsdirect, USAA, or Costco. I believe you can easily get in the $36k range, if not lower. Good luck.
I am looking to lease a AWD (premium, nav) coupe and am currently living in Michigan. A few questions that I hope you guys can help me with:
1.) Should I make the purchase within Jun/July or hold off till Aug/Sept for potential better deals?
2.) Any recommended dealers around the Michigan/mid-west area? I am willing to travel up to 300-400mi for a gd deal.
Thanks!
There are a few important things for me, all have to be met. They are price, speed and full disclosure (to a point), and lastly integrity.
Price: I will never pay more all things being equal, and will buy a vehicle solely on price. I'm not one that 'must have' a specific color, options, etc. So I wouldn't pay more for that. Also, dealers swap vehicles all the time and most vehicles in popular configurations are readily available. I live in CT, and here dealer/conveyance fees are $299 and up. I won't pay these and have purchased my last 5 or so vehicles in NY where they are capped at $45. Dealers will ask me if I'm willing to walk out for $299, and I reply are you willing to let me walk out for $299. if you want to charge that reduce your selling price by $299 and if you're total OTD price is lower that's what I look at. I can take my wife and daughter out to a very nice dinner for $299, maybe a few of them, so I value my money even if I can afford to spend it.
Speed and full disclosure: get me the price and details quickly. Salespersons quote vehicles daily be then new or used. They all meet monthly, weekly, daily and have goals. Most sales professionals do. Based on this, and their familiarity with the product and competitors offerings if I contact a dealer, they should have price and availability on what I'm requesting within a day, if not within an hour or two based on their schedules (delivering a car, following up on other clients before my inquiry, etc). Also, give me everything I ask for. if I'm a detail person and ask for money factor, dealer fees, etc., provide what is being asked. There are no smoke and mirrors.
Integrity: Many complain about car dealerships, however many sales professionals in various industries are losing this over time. Have morals and ethical principals when conducting business. be honest, do what you say, when you say you will do it.
Now with all this said, I'm willing to pay the price quoted but not more, I will always come back to your dealership when I'm looking for a vehicle of the same make, and I will give you last look to match my lowest price in the event someone beats your quote and you want the business.
As discussed in other threads, the transmission in the car is definitely not as smooth as it was in my 2007 G35X. It seems to me that it lags a bit in the low gears and is a bit sluggish. In addition, when I apply the brakes, especially going down hill, the car seems to rev from 2K to 4K while it is down shifting. My dealer is insisting that there is no transmission problem and the downshifting is normal.
The second issue that I have had is with my GPS. About a month into my purchase, my GPS unit did not seem to work. It was not registering my location. After weeks of calling the dealership to check for the status of the part, it finally arrived on Friday. When they went to install it, they told me that not only does the new GPS not work but the radio is not working as well.
I am so frustrated with a.) the lack of customer support from the dealership and b.) with the quality of the product. I did not expect this from an Infiniti product.
I just wanted to share my thoughts to see if any other owners have had any similar issues.
did you also get 2.9 apr for 60months ?

I was underwhelmed for the first 3 months of ownership during which I babied my 2010 G37S. After the first oil change at 4,000 miles, I drove like I used to with 3-series for a few weeks. Now, at nearly 5,000 miles, the driving dynamic is completely different, almost feels like a different car. The throttle responses better, the gears hang longer (higher RPM shift points), the engine roars sweeter. The car is a whole lot sportier, and always beg to be driven more aggressively. It is is so much fun driving it now.
I never used the DS mode except when using paddle shifters in freeway passing. The MPG did go down by about 0.5 (from 21.1 to 20.6), but it certainly worth it for all the fun I got.
Thanks

I did this many times and have had gotten great deals. I purchased a new 2008 Acura MDX in late 2008 and got responses from 8 dealers. I got the car for more than $7K below sticker and below what Edmunds.com said people were paying. I had to travel 80 miles for the car, but I have it serviced locally. A few months ago I bought a 2010 Honda Odyssey for my daughter (having triplets in August). I sent emails to 23 dealers in the Boston Area. I got responses from 17 and six were competitive, well below invoice. A few didn't want to deal over the internet, so I just ignored them. I've been a good car shopper for many years, having owned 36 cars, I don't mind going into showrooms to talk with sales persons, but the internet is the most convenient and painless way to get started. You don't need to drive all over and waste a lot of time.
Journey with Premium and Nav Pkgs. with illuminated sills and trunk cargo net
36 months, 15k miles/year
2k Drive off
440/month included tax at 8.25%
What u think?
MSRP 41800
they are willing to give it for 34900 plus Taxes and tags.
They are giving me 0% APR as well;
Thoughts ?
Your deal is $2735 under invoice with zero percent interest. That's pretty good. I'm looking for a G37X w/o Nav so my numbers are a little diiferent but the best deal I've been offered is approx. $1000 under invoice ($35150) with 2.9% percent.

G sedan - sold 50 - average of $95 below invoice (remember there was $1000 dealer cash, so on average we sold the vehicle at $95 below invoice, keeping the other $905 as our profit - this is about $3000-$3500 off MSRP) - plus customer got special financing
G coupe - sold only 7 - average of $192 above invoice (so our average profit was $1192) plus customer got special financing
G convertible - sold 7 - average of $247 above invoice (so our average profit was $1247)
July Incentives - No change
G sedan: $1000 and special financing (0% for 36, 1.9% for 66, 3.9% for 72)
G coupe: same as sedan
G convertible: $1000 OR special financing (0% for 36, 2.9% for 66, 3.9% for 72)
If leasing a sedan or coupe there is $1000 Loyalty or Conquest Rebate (basically you just have to have a vehicle in your name - if you are a first time buyer you are out of luck). Hope this helps.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
What might be more in my price range is a 2007 G35 Journey sedan. I would want miles around 25-30k, very good condition or even CPO, from an Infiniti dealer, Premium Pkg but nothing else. What would you all think a good price on a car like this would be?
2010 Infiniti G37X sedan w/black on black with the navigation package, premium package, illuminated kick plates and performance tire and wheels
I got ripped off purchasing a galant back in 2004 and really don't want it to happen again. With this offer what do u think is the best purchasing price so far? Any advice or questions would help
Thanks!
Sport = better handling, cooler looking
Non-Sport = softer ride, tires last longer
If you really like to drive the car - drive it hard - get the Sport!
I got this quote:
2010 Base G37 Sedan / Blue color with tan interior.
All I wanted was automatic, which is standard.
I am looking at a 39 month lease for $289/mo + inception (which is about $2500).
When I totaled it out, it comes out to $375/mo (tax included and $0 sign and drive).
Im looking to get the lowest payment possible.
Is that a good deal? Can anyone beat it? email me at mrnik2007@gmail.com
I want to pick it up ASAP.
Im in Ft Lauderdale and would be willing to go to Tampa/Orlando/Miami/Naples/etc to get it if needed.
I read on Insideline that Infiniti will be debuting two new vehicles in August. Let's pray the g25 is one of them.
Look me up on-line and email me direct - I have a Black/Black G37x Prem Pkg, Nav Pkg, and Sport Pkg that arrives at the end of July.
Even if you don't get one here, you should expect to pay around that price. Your payment will depend on how long of a lease, how many miles, and if you put any money down (we recommend you put down only first payment and registration fees).
Happy 4th!
I was hoping that a loaded G25 with Nav, Sport and Premium would be a good buy for under 35K since I don't need all that power the G37 offers. Thanks though
