They are in FL, so maybe GA follows suit. I have seen them as low as $45 in CA to $900 in FL.

OTD is a worthless number on a national forum. Sharing the selling price is much more valuable to people here.

I already did my lease in June. But reading the psots here: What the heck are these MSDs? Multiple Security Deposits in Lieu of a $$$$ Downpayment on a lease? Isn't that the same thing except they are made on certain timetables thru the lease term? Or am I mistaken.

When I did my deal in June No $$$ down, just TTL [$1,958] which include first month, Bank fee, taxes and title] , 18k miles per yr, Premium, Navi, G37X, splash guards, with interior Maple accents, 39 month lease, Infiniti paid my last 2 months on old lease of $880, I pay $425.00/ Mo. - that's less than the $440 I was paying on the old 07 Without Navi. !

MSD's are deposits you put down in multiples of your payment rounded up the the nearest $50 that decrease the money factor (interest) that you pay on the lease. The beauty of a MSD is that you get the money back at the end of the lease. When you calculate the savings, you can get as much as a 60% tax free return on your deposits.

Each MSD drops your interest .24%, up to 9 or 2.16%

I'm wondering if this happen to anyone else out there. I purchased a 2008 G35X from a local dealer who has a very good reputation in the Chicago area. The car was advertised on their website and included a list of options. After owning the car for a week we now realize several of the options listed are not on the car. Obviously I did a poor job inspecting the car before the sale. We do love the car so we don't feel totally burned but we do feel a little mislead by the dealer and truthfully we wouldn't have been interested in the car if it had been advertised correctly. I'm planning to go back to the dealer but I'm interested to know if this happen to anyone else and how the issue was resolved. Any input is appreciated. Thanks
  • dat2dat2 Member Posts: 251
I have no idea if they are obligated to do anything, but it would be good for their conscience if they at least refund you for the difference between cars equipped with the advertised equipment and the model you bought. This could easily be estimated by using a used car price guide on edmunds.com, for example. Good luck and let us know what happens...
  • m6userm6user Member Posts: 3,181
Agree. Probably have some fine print someplace on their web site that covers them for "typos". But I agree, if they were advertising it like that and you bought it thinking the options were there, they should step up in some manner.

2010 G37x w/ 100 miles-- Sport/Premium/Navigation Packages w/ first aid kit, trunk mat & cargo net all for $35,999 plus $100 MD doc fee and TTL.

Was this a good deal? Any feedback would be most appreciated so I can convince my wife of the "wisdom" of this purchase.

Invoice is 38,735, there is $1000 dealer cash available which takes the price to 37,735. So you got the car for $1,700 under invoice. Quite frankly I don't know how you got such a great price.

kingpcgeek: I still don't follow you...."multiples of your payment"? Do you make regular lease payments in Addition to these MSDs? Please give an example. THX

  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
Yes you make regular lease payments, a MSD just helps you lower them. A MSD is a DEPOSIT. The amount of the MSD is based on your payment. If you payment is $430 then you round up to the nearest $50 which would be $450. If you wanted to do the maximum 9 MSDs then your MSD total deposit would be 9 * 450 = $4050. That in turn would lower you interest rate by 2.16% (.0001 for each MSD * 9 * 2400 = 2.16%)

This should be posted in the G37 lease forum for better feedback. I don't get it. If you can lease a new 35k priced car for under $340 month with nothing down whats the delay. You say your getting over $6300 off. Thats way more than anyone else has posted. How much cheaper does it have to be? I say its a bargain if its a real real.
  • jtlajtla Member Posts: 388
I think that is his "ideal deal" which may or may not be doable. He asked if it is a possibility. I concur on that this should be posted to the leasing thread to get more input.

We just bought this car. G37 Journey w/ premium and navi, plus mat, cargo net, and 1st aid kit.

    MSRP 39510, sale 32710, 0% apr for 3-yr. It's $6800 off MSRP.

The mileage is a little high though: 233 miles. But I think it's OK, isn't it? The low mileage ones they have in stock don't have our preferred color. Dealer give 4-yr Deluxe maintenance service for free as compensation of this mileage number. Is this good enough? We accept it anyway.
  • niitaniita Member Posts: 3
That sounds like a steal. Where did you get your car from and what color did you end up getting it in? In the long run, 233 miles wouldn't make a huge difference plus the deluxe maintenance service made it totally worth it!

We are in north CA. A friend of mine was really good at negotiation and she advised us to get the car at the end of the month, saying it's the best time as dealers were closing their book. We get the silver/black combination.
  • niitaniita Member Posts: 3
That's awesome; I've also heard the same about dealers trying to meet quotas at the end of the month. I'm also in Bay Area/Norcal so I'm looking for a dealership for go to for an Infiniti. Where did you end up getting yours from?
  • needashowerneedashower Member Posts: 39
Wow, the dealer cost including incentive and holdback on this car is $34,546. Was the car previously titled or sold as new? Either way, a very good score at $1,836 below estimated cost. Anyone else getting these kinds of deals?

I purchased a 2010 G37x with premium, navigation, wood, splash guards, trunk mat, first aid kit & cargo net in May from Pepe Infiniti in White Plains, NY for $37,000 even (sale price). Doc fees were approximately $75.00. I hope this helps and good luck!

A couple of dealerships around my area still have some new 2009 g37 journey sedan with premium package. What kind of price do you think I can get on this considering its almost a 2 year old car?
  • all4yallall4yall Member Posts: 7
    Anything new?
  • smehrsmehr Member Posts: 14
You got a GREAT deal. I just bought mine. Same exact options as yours except mine has splash guards and illuminated kick plates ($170+$350). I'm also having wood dash being put on as part of the deal from a third party since none of the cars in stock had factory wood. ($475) I got mine for $35,000 plus fees.

I shopped 5 dealers in my surrounding area. I'm in Los Angeles area. The $1000 dealer cash was used up as well. The price I got was the lowest. I also got sold for $1550 extra for the 5 year maintenance. I wish I got your deal but it wasn't happening in my part of town. (I think the G37 is too popular) :( I was afraid that if I waited there wouldn't be any more dealer cash. I bought the car at the last day of the month along with my sister --she bought the EX35 Journey which had $3k dealer cash.

Picked up a 2010 G37X coupe with prem and Nav + some splash guard, nets mats, etc.. MSRP $45170, the final price is $40545+ tax and doc fee. That's invoice less $1000 + Infiniti 2 year Maint free program (not through dealer). Think that's good deal? Thanks
  • meyrick007meyrick007 Member Posts: 23
leased a 2010 blue slate g37 sedan with nav and premium package

    traded in my 2008 g37 with a $27300 balance. infiniti gave me 25k so i'm negative $2300.

    msrp of 2010 g37 - 39890
    negotiated price - 36890
    10k miles a year
    510 for 36 months

i decided to take the 900 lease insurance which will give me $5k to cover any wear and tear including excess mileage when my lease ends. the $5k coverage is good because if you divide $5k on .25 cents per excess mile it gives me an extra 6500 miles a year for a total of 16500.

so with the warranty and $2300 negative trade in my cap cost plus other charges is 40k.

drive off $2900 includes all fees, 1st month payment, and taxes (1k infiniti loyalty rebate + 1900 out of pocket from me)

monthly payment on a 36 month lease $530 (includes taxes - damn u CA tax)

also i got 1 year free oil change and scheduled maintenance

did i get a good deal? i feel like i got jacked. but i think it's due to my 2k negative trade in that made it difficult for me to bargain.

    thoughts?
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
Put it this way. I went to a dealer last week to trade in my 08 G and they told me I had $2k negative equity (payoff: $24,7k, trade in value: $22.7k). I told them I'll see you next year when the lease is up. I guess I'll "suffer" through a third year of my car.

I have never heard of lease insurance, but I don't get why you are buying it to cover for excess miles when you are only getting a 10k lease.

my trade in was a purchase not a lease. it had 20k miles on it , minor paint chip on the bumper (it was a hit and run) and a major curb rash on one of the wheels. i decided to do thetrade so i won't have to replace my tires, brakes, and worry about the cosmetic stuff. also 2011 are coming out on october and the dealer only had a choices of what i wanted. they had a lot of G's with the light colored interior which i don't like. it seems the dark interior sells faster also G's with nav are harder to come by due to the upcoming 2011 models arriving.

about the lease insurance. i decided to take the offer since based on my past lease experiences the dealer likes to charge for every single thing (i.e. dings, dents, wear and tear, etc...). so for an extra $899 for 3 years it's not that bad of a deal since i can use the alloted $5k on mileage as well when i know i drive more than 10k a year.

i checked edmunds TMV pricing i guess i paid about $500 more than average which i think is not that bad. i see people here getting their pricing down to $35k for which i give kudos for good negotiating. but i guess it all depends what part of town you get your car. it seems like here in southern california specifically los angeles region the G's sell faster so it's harder to get a deal.

anyone from LA who wants o share their pricing experience?
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
From what I have seen through the past couple of years on this forum, Southern CA typically has the best deals of the country. I almost drove to LA from Phoenix in 08 because of the great offer I had received.

Last week I picked up my 2010 Moonlight White G37 Coupe. Paid $32,580 for the base RWD version. The price included freight, but not TTL and a whopping $395 for "documentation fees". The dealer gave me a free iPad, which compensates for the doc fee amount. I am very satisfied with the deal and very satisfied with the dealer from whom I purchased the car here in Virginia - they were fantastic. Of course I wish I had some of the "bells and whistles" that are standard in the other versions of the Coupe, but all-in-all I think I have a great car at a very good price. And I can read Edmunds on my iPad. ;)

Does anyone have any experience with negotiating prices in the MD/DC/VA area? I am shopping around for a G37x sedan in black/graphite with premium package and it has been an interesting experience to say the least. Common quotes end up being around $37k (final price, all fees included) or $34,900 plus taxes, tags, and dealer processing. Anyone able to snag a lower price in the area? Thank you!
  • kchiehkchieh Member Posts: 2
Thanks for the reply.. I did the TMV prior to the purchase, turns out to be a good deal with the options. $1500 better.. The truecar shows $41500 as great price and I got it for $40500 + the 2 year maint ($600 roughly). So I feel better now.. By the way, I forgot to mention that I used VPP

I just purchased a G37 Coupe from Passport Infiniti in Alexandria. It's just off 395, near Landmark Shopping Center. I highly recommend them. In fact, look at their inventory on their website, use truecar.com to come up with the best price and then call Jason (or Sonja). He will meet the truecar price. (Mention my name - Richard with the G37 coupe.) Jason and Sonja were fantastic. They quoted the car over the phone, quoted my trade value over the phone and when I got to the dealership, my car was ready and the process fast and smooth. No surprises and great experience. Good luck and let me know how it goes. It looks like you'll save a few thousand dollars over the price you mention in your post. Buy me a coffee and we'll call it even.
    Regards....

Thank you Richard. It looks like the truecar.com best price is $34,191. I will shoot for that. If I see anyone shoot by in a nice new G37 coupe, I will yell your name, and if you respond, coffee is on me! Thanks again.

How much should I expect to get off the MSRP ($39,680) for a Demo with 5,600 miles; True Value shows invoice as $34,500; I would think I should get it lower than that for being used but never titled?? I will be making a deal soon; any help is appreciated.

Little late on this, sorry. No change in incentives from Aug to Sept.

Here is what we sold in the G family in the month of August. We sold more G sedans (RWD) than anyone in the Nation with 64. Keep in mind these are averages, so some paid more and some less, some vehicles had more equipment than others, some added accessories, etc.

G sedan: 64 at $258 below invoice (there was $1000 dealer cash, so we made $742)

G coupe: 16 at $236 below invoice (same $1000 dc, so we made $764 per car)
GCV: 7 at $935 below invoice (there was $2000 dc, so we made $1065 per car)

Most of you get better prices than these averages, but don't expect to be to much less - if the dealers can get this from the general public. If it is a lot less, get your guard up on your trade-in, the financing, etc. Hope this helps when your shopping. :)

Found a local dealer that has one G37 base left. They want 33,020 out the door.

    Price is $30,300
    Tax @ 6.5%= $1969 ish
    Title/Registration = $340 ish
    Dealer Fee = 400 (yuck)

Good deal? It's hard to shop around because no other dealer in the area has any left.

How do you think the new G25 will affect the G37 market? I'm concerned that the G25 will take the low end of the market and Infiniti will move the G37 upmarket in response.

I live in Long Island, New York, and just got offered the following lease deal for a 2010 G37x AWD sedan with Premium package, w/out navi:

    39 mos., 10K miles
    400/mo. + $1000 cap. reduction rebate + $75 documentation fee + $10 inspection fee + registration fees + $12.50 tire recycling fee + $395 disposition fee + $0 security deposit.

Can you tell me what the money factor is and the residual on this deal?
I qualify for the loyalty bonus of $1000 off because I am already in an Infiniti and the dealership is charging me sales tax on that capitalized reduction -- is that standard / allowed?
Finally, can you evaluate whether you think I got a good deal on the adjusted cap cost?
For my area, the MSRP, dealer invoice price and TMV according to Edmunds is:
MSRP = $38,200 (including Premium pkg.), excluding destination charge
Invoice + $35,167 (incl. Premium), excluding destination charge
TMV = $35,617 (same as above)
I signed a binder, so I can only get out of this until tomorrow. If you could respond to me as promptly as you can, I would greatly appreciate it.
By the way, is the $875 destination charge waivable?
Thank you, Carman and anyone else who can respond.
