So what would be a very good price to shoot for on a 2010 G37 Journey or X? There is $1,000 Conquest Bonus Cash until 9/30. I was thinking Invoice - $1,000 Conquest Cash. Is that reasonable?

O.K.; I am done now; I made the deal with an extra $500 off; so, I paid $35,400 for the car; I opted for 2 dealer options; Exacta Mats ($300) and the 5 year maintenance plan for $1200; So, with TTL and $16K down, my payments are $380 a month with the 1.9% My dealership is the only thing in town and i didn't feel like driving to ATL to get a little bit better deal on a base model; Thanks for any help given.

Just curious....what happens to the $1200 maint plan if you total your car and decide to buy something else or you just don't like the car and want to trade? Is it prorated and you get some money back or what? Does it include brakes, wiper blades, all air filters etc?

I now have an offer for a g37 journey sedan with premium package for 32,400. After taxes and fees, it comes out to 34700 out the door. MSRP on the vehicle was 37,465.

    Seem like a good deal?
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
The rules on whether or not the loyalty bonus is taxable is up to your state, not the dealer.

There is a destination charge on EVERY new car sold in the US. There is no way not to pay it, it shouldn't even be quoted as a separate line when dealing for a car

Bottom line if you are paying invoice - $1000 you are getting a good deal.

The $395 lease disposition fee is not paid when leasing the car, its paid at lease return. Hopefully when the first lease disposition leases start returning (its a fee that Infiniti didn't start charging until last year) they will waive it if you lease another Infiniti.

seems like a good deal to me, is this about what sedan journey with premium package is going for?
  • jamesp880jamesp880 Member Posts: 8
I took the offer for the G37 Journey Sedan with premium package for 32,400. They also included the wood trim for the price, which I think is a steal. I paid 34700 out the door. Dealer was in the Tampa area.
  • pavppavp Member Posts: 13
    Hey James,

can you give me the dealer name in Tampa ?

    Thanks

  • jamesp880jamesp880 Member Posts: 8
Both of the infiniti dealers in the Tampabay area had the same offer on the table, but one was closer to me, and threw in the wood trim.

If it is an Infiniti plan and not a "dealer plan" - you can get a prorated if you cancel the plan. It normally only covers basic maintenance like oil changes, tire rotations, and scheduled services (so not brakes).

A dealer specific plan could be different.
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
    The convertible now has:

    $2000 & special financing rates (0% for 36, 1.9% for up to 66, 3.9 for 72)

& if you lease - there is $1000 available to the dealer that they can pass along if they choose.

    :)

And don't be surprise that the prorate amount is much less that you and I think it should be. This kind of pre-sale maintenance plan has a lot of commission builded in. When we purchase our car, the finance manager offer it to us at $1400 and I decline. And the prorate amount depend on what Infinitie receive after the sale commission, And a more interesting question is whether someone need the dealer to do an oil change? Last I check Walmart is doing oil change in our area for about $30..

Did it have the Navigation Package ? Through TrueCar.com, I obtained three dealer prices for a 2010 G37 Sedan x AWD. with Navigation Package, Premium Package, Interior Accent package and splash guards. The closest dealer was 120 miles away(Raleigh NC); the next closest dealer was 242 miles away (Charleston,SC). However, I went to the Infiniti Dealership in Alexandria VA. which was the longest distance (310 miles) but had the best price (2, 250 under Factory Invoice price). I also like the black one, but my wife liked the red one that was in the showroom. Can you guess which one we left with? I saved saved 2,000 by taking the trip tto VA. I also received a good price from Carmax in Woodbridge VA for the vehicle I drove up there. I am 64+ and have purchased many new cars, but this is the first time I have ever left a dealership and didn't feel like I had been taken. Good luck.

Thanks. What have you heard about the mpg on the G25? Aren't they supposed to be in dealers sometime this month? There is now a G25 thread here on Edmunds FYI.

Hi sewellgsm, been reading some of your comments on this board and I just want you to know that you've been a great help on these forums. I wanted to know when do you expect the new 2011 g37 coupes to start arriving at dealerships? I am looking into buying a 2011 journey coupe and was told that it should be arriving at dealerships around late December. How much should I expect to pay for the new coupes? Invoice price? $500 over invoice? $1,000 over invoice? Less than invoice lol? Looking for a black ext./graphite int. with premium and sport packages.

Are the 2011 coupes worth it with the new front fascias and fog lights or should I look for a 2010 with the same packages. Got an online quote from a nearby dealership with the same color and packages that I was looking for and some dealership add ons for $41,650 plus fees, titles, and taxes, was told that this 2010 model with these packages was very rare and they had to trade for this car, but I thought this price was way overpriced and I declined.

Should I just wait for the 2011's to come in December and hope to get a good deal with it being December and all, or will I expect to have to pay thousands over invoice or even at MSRP with it being a new model? Thanks again.

I saw your post in another forum as well...my guess is it's not easy to get a refresh '11 coupe at or close to invoice if you want to be the first person to have the 2011. I think it's easier to get around the middle b/w MSRP and invoice.

It's possible to get at or close to invoice if you're willing to wait about 3 months.

I ended up going with the G37x with Premium/Nav/Sport for $36,100 (including destination charge, not including taxes etc). Infiniti of Chantili in Virginia. Thank you all for your input and information.

I see that Edmunds has the 2011 G pricing available and that there is now a G37 sedan Sport Appearance Edition that maxes out at $41345 MSRP with all options. Building the same with a 2010 G37 Journey sedan w/Premium/Nav/Sport and all similar options, it comes to $44025. Does this seem possible? Anyone know if the Sport Appearance Edition is the same as adding the options the the Journey? Thinking of going with the 2010 G37 Prem/Nav/Sport etc., but if it is the same as the 2011 G37 Sport Appearance Edition - and the 2011 is cheaper (atleast at MSRP) - it may be worth waiting a month or two until they're available. Thoughts?

I have an offer for a G37X w/ Sport/Prem/NAV and some other stuff w/ an MSRP of $42,390. Invoice is about $38,850. The dealer is asking $38,450 and that includes the $1,000 Conquest Cash. So it looks like it's about $600 over invoice - $1,000 Conquest Cash. Is this a good deal for Northern NJ?

drskin - Absolutely an incredible price for the G37X w premium/nav/sport. Did the truecar.com value help negotiating your price? Great job and enjoy your car!

rlbjr2 - try using truecar.com for your zipcode. You might find a better price. In fact, look at the price drskin negotiated for his "G", which was fantastic.

    drskin,
How is that possible? The invoice on that car is at least $38,600. Even with the $1,000 Conquest Cash, that only brings the dealer cost to $36,800. How did you get it for $700 below the dealers cost?
  • rlbjr2rlbjr2 Member Posts: 91
    richard10,
I checked Truecar and is did not have any local dealers near me but said that a "great" price was below $39,300. The dealer cost after deducting the $1,000 Conquest Cash is $37,000.
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
Hey - my first ones are due in November, generally there will be no dealer cash when they first launch - you could expect around $2k off. Generally speaking you want to be about $4k difference between model years, so if the gap is less go with the newer one IF you can get more go with the older (as long as there are not significant changes).

Sport pkg will sell out faster than a non-sport, so I doubt many dealers will get too desperate on models with the sport package.

I think you should get a 2011 IF you are not desperate for a vehicle, you could go to your local dealer and custom order one - they would probably agree to sell it to you for xxx amount over invoice - any incentives at the time it arrived which would be around the end of the year.
  • drskindrskin Member Posts: 4
Richard: Thank you! I am very happy with it. I am a USAA member, and when I mentioned that to the dealer, he quoted me the price of $36,100 (its a non-negotiable price). I am still not sure how I got it for that price either to be honest but am very happy with the purchase.

rlbjr2: It was Chantilly Infiniti in VA, the guy who helped me was very nice and his name was George.

Sewell thanks for the advice...I'm going to wait until the 2011 coupes start arriving at the dealerships around november and december and see if I like the changes they made compared to the 2010's. I saw the 2011 IPL G coupe and wasn't really impressed with the front fascia and the fog lights look.

The new coupes are probably going to look similar to that and/or the 2010 sedan models, but we'll see. Hopefully infiniti will start adding the $4500 off incentives and rebates for the 2010's and $1500 off for the new 2011 models around december, january, february time like they did last year. That's probably the time I'll start shopping. Thanks again for the info and advice.

I have been dealing with a dealership over the last week for a 2010 G37x coupe with the premium package. Total OTD is $39,500, wonder what some of your thoughts are?

    Thanks
  • m6userm6user Member Posts: 3,181
If your state sales tax is 10%, it's not too bad. If your sales tax is 0% you got screwed. That's why asking how you did "OTD" is useless.

Hey, Thanks for the response, should have clarified that the price proposed is $39,500 including the $300 doc fees(no other fees were applied) and excluding the state tax. You think i should be able to go lower? i haven't had much luck with any dealers going less than that, also note that this is for the coupe as i noticed alot of posts are related to the sedan.
  • gooddeal2gooddeal2 Member Posts: 750
Assuming it has the splash guard and mat, the invoice is 39,844 so, you get about 344 under invoice. I think there's 1K incentive on purchase but I don't see it at edmunds.

If the $1000 discount is real, you should be able to get 1K under invoice + TTL in most area.

Hey guys hopefully you can help me out. I've finally decided to go for the G37. I live in NJ and am looking at the 2011 AWD Coupe with the Premium and Navi package. Since the price was supposed to basically be the same as last year's, I'm looking at $44,775 MSRP.

Invoice is $41,150, Dealer cost $39,272. Truecar says a great deal is $41,300.

Any chance I can get this package for $40k when it comes out or is that not feasible?

If not, what should I shoot for? Thanks a lot guys
  • m6userm6user Member Posts: 3,181
You're looking for an almost 5k discount from MSRP on a car right after it first hits the dealer? Good luck.

Haha give me a break Im new to this, my first car was an 05 Mustang but the pricing was relatively determined as it was a year old.

Any idea on what I should be aiming for (maybe $42k?) on this or how long it would take for the price to drop a bit?
  • ranman09ranman09 Member Posts: 8
Hey Sewell, any new incentives for the month of October or is it the same as the last couple months.

Are they still doing $1000 dealer cash along with the special finance rates? Looking into getting a 2010 g37 coupe journey with premium, sport, and nav packages. Hopefully they still have the 3.9% for 72 months special finance rate. Saw pictures of the new 2011 coupes and hated the changes they made to the front. 2010's look better in my opinion.
  • richard10richard10 Member Posts: 13
Blumustang - I would not be discouraged by the fact that the 2011 was just introduced. I would think you should be able to get the same discount as the 2010 or close to the same discount. (Less any rebate that might have been discontinued for the newer model.) Considering the body style is so mature, with the exception of the slight change to the front fascia, and considering that cars are still not flying out of dealerships, you should get a very good deal. DO NOT go into the dealership with the attitude that its a new model and then not aggressively negotiate. That's exactly what the dealership is hoping you'll think. Use the Truecar.com price and don't stop until you get that price. There are a gazillion dealerships in NJ and at least one, if not all, would love to sell you a 2011. They still make money and it's one more car in their future allocation. Don't be discouraged and don't give in! You will absolutely get the price your thinking as long as you persevere.
  • blumustangblumustang Member Posts: 11
Thanks richard! Like I said I'm pretty new to this but was hoping I could check out a bunch of dealers in nj, show them the report, request the G awd prem/navi saying I will pay $40k and but the car on the spot if they can do it. Hope it works out!

Not much change - here is the rundown.

    2010 G sedan & coupe: $1000 & special rates (0%-36, 1.9%-60, 3.9%-72)
    2010 G convertible: $2000 & special rates

$1000 Lease Loyalty or Conquest Rebate on sedan/coupe. (must lease, can't get both rebates)

    2011 G25: special rates (0.9%-36, 2.9%-60, 3.9%-72)
    2011 G37 sedan: $500 & special rates (same as G25)
2011 G37 coupe & convertible: not available yet

$1000 Loyalty Rebate for lease on 2011 G37 sedan.

Remember lease rebates do NOT mix with retail dealer cash. Hope this helps. :)

sales tax rolled into payment, walking out the door paying first months and 200 in license and doc fees.

Hi all, is the 2010 g37x with prem for $34,500 (not including TTL & $200 doc fee), is this a good deal? Thanks in advance.
  • bachmanbachman Member Posts: 31
I really like the looks and reputation this car has and don't care that much for the body lines of the drop-top version. The retractable HT on new or newer ones would be fine if were $pending some real dough!
I don't know much about the options on older ones and my main objective is finding something in a 2002 - 2005 AWD. Were they available as such and is there a good percentage of them from a production standpoint or will I be looking for a rare bird per all wheel drive?

I live in Az and I was told that Oct lease rates on the 2010s for 3/36 were 0.00089 and 58%. Those are outstanding lease terms but the sales-morons are now refusing to drop the prices much below MSRP because of the lease terms. $2k below MSRP is all they will go with 40 on the lot. Guess I'm going to have to drive to Peoria. Sigh

I seriously doubt lease rates are setting the tone for pricing since lease rates are essentially unchanged for at least the last 4 months.

One of the problems with the Phoenix area is that there is 4 Infiniti dealers here, but three of them are owned by the same company. The lone wolf is Coulter in Mesa. That being said I leased in August of 08 and paid factory invoice + $225 for dealer adds - $500 lease cash. In July of 09 I paid factory invoice - 1000 lease cash. Both times were at Scottsdale. Just go in a make them an offer of factory invoice - $1000 lease cash. They will take it or let you walk. If they let you walk don't be surprised if they call you back before you get home. Everyone is doing so much price shopping via email that I think some sales man are getting tired of wasting their time and not taking anyone seriously. If you are in front of them they know you are serious.

FYI on truecar.com a local dealer is selling G's for $1200 under invoice. That would include the $1000 lease/buy cash. The extra $200 is probably because they throw on dealer adds that are not included in the price. The new Infiniti on Camelback doesn't charge for dealer adds.

I just got an offer from the dealer and I think it is a bit high but I wanted to check here. The car is a 2010 G37x Sedan AWD with the Premium, Navigation, and Sport packages and the trunk mat, net, and first aid kit. This is for a purchase and in the Philadelphia area. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.
