If you can wait a little longer, around June or July?, you might be able to get a better deal b/c the new design G should be out for 2012.
Can you reveal the dealer that gave you this OTD price? Thanks

Could I go lower than that? I gave them AMEX guaranteed price printout and they matched it.
The dealer was Infiniti of Thousand Oaks. Also, I got wheel locks and trunk mat/net for free.
Are you including incentives in your invoice pricing?
I work for Nissan North America in Farmington Hills, Michigan and some of the deals posted on this website (if true) are better then my VPP employee pricing
Right now I can get a 2011 G37 Journey Sedan for $29,957. That discount was available to friends through Jan 3, 2011 and I gave out as many as I could on the internet forums but it expired.

I am in the market for a G37 Journey Sedan with:
Premium package
Navigation package
Illuminated kick plates
Trunk mats etc
MSRP 40,470
Invoice (including dest. fee) 37158
Deal available on truecar.com is 2300 below invoice (this is in San Francisco Bay Area) for buying the car.
Is this a good deal or should I negotiate further?
Also, I am actually interested in leasing the car, and dealers are telling me that the lease sales price will be $1000 higher than the purchase sales price because the $1000 dealer cash from Infiniti is available only for purchases. Can someone please confirm if this is true?
Thanks!
2011 G37 Journey Sedan
Graphite Shadow/Stone
Premium, Splash guards, illuminated kick plates, trunk mat, etc. and they are tinting the windows.
MSRP: $39,140
Selling price: $31,990
OTD price (7% tax): $34,8XX
Surprising my husband with this on 2/15. Went to get it today with my mom to store in a friends garage and windows weren't tinted yet! They offered to flat bed it to me (15 miles) so I don't have to come back!
I was considering a CPO 2010, but for the prices that dealers are asking, it's a very similar price to get a new 2011 if Edmunds TMV is accurate (I haven't checked with any dealers in the area just yet).
Any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks.

I'm sure if you have the patience to negotiate, you can do better, since I didn't try all that hard, but now you have something to base your purchase / Lease on... Good luck.
Went in to a dealer today (Douglas Infinity in Sumit NJ) who had quoted me 37k over the phone and 37.3 k in an email. First I was given the giant runaround with a different salesperson claiming that the other two people had misquoted and it was a mistake and that they were quoting the wrong car. At some points, they were just outright lying.
I said I was not going to pay above the price quoted in the email. They said fine and came back with a lease payment which had an incorrect residual. When I pointed that out, they came back with a lease payment with incorrect money factor.
I pointed out that the Infinity money factor for Feb is .00125. They were pricing in .00145 and claimed that this is their standard practice and they have the discretion to tag on .00020.
At that point I walked out. But I am totally disgusted with the whole thing. I was so looking forward to buying the car today.
My question is - is this even legal? If Infiniti financial is financing the car at .00125, then how on earth can the dealer have discretion over that? It is not the dealers money!
price of 2011 G37 Journey Sedan with MSRP of $39,140. The salesman
said I was crazy and that car could not be sold at that price. Thoughts?
I would like erical62477 to reply to this message please.
Dealer was Sheehy Infiniti of Annapolis MD. Did all the price negotiation over email/phone with Nick Suter. Great guy - came back with a very competitive initial quote and was also very helpful beyond that. Did not try any dirty tricks (see my post on Douglas Infiniti from last week).
Lease terms were standard - 36mo/10k at 65% residual and .00125 money factor. Also, dealer fees were $100 compared to 250 in NJ.
Great experience overall - would definitely recommend the dealer. Took a bus down to Baltimore from NYC and a guy from the dealership picked me up. They offered to deliver the car for free but I preferred picking it up myself. Bus fare was $20 so that wasn't much plus I got to get up close and comfortable with the car on a nice ride back home
Also, the salesman put my e-mail address into the Infiniti national database after promising to keep it to himself.
MSRP - $40,820
Quoted Price - $34,200 + TTL
How is the deal ?
Thanks in advance,
Ron
Infiniti will allow the dealers to add up an extra .00125 (which is about 3% in terms of rates) to a money factor - this is how the dealership makes money. Similar to the way Master Card or Visa, Home mortgages, Nieman Marcus, Best Buy basically anyone loaning money, they (all these places) get the money at one rate and mark it up to the consumer - sometimes it goes through several institutions and gets maked up several times.
So, this dealership was marking up the money factor .00020 or about .5% probably would have made them about $400 on the life of the lease. This is the money they make to have a F&I department and an Accounting department - if they don't do a good job of making money to offset expenses, then it won't be long before they are no longer in business - note this is a business in which the owner expects to make a profit not just break even.
So, don't get too mad at the dealership - Infiniti borrowed the money from somewhere and marked it up, whoever they got it from probably got it from the government and marked it up too.
Hell go to Nieman - get one of their charge cards - they charge about 19.99%, most credit cards average about 12% - so .00125 is about 3% which is awesome and they were trying to get you to sign at 3.5% which is still awesome!
This practice is the best way dealerships make money - they advertise their vehicles cheap to get you to come there (this is what 90% of the discurssion on this board is, who gave the best price) and then simple make it up on the financing. Remember, the dealership is going to make some money somewhere in the deal 95% of the time or they won't do the deal - don't get upset - it is simply business. If you get mad at them for making money, then you should be mad at your electric company, the store you bought your clothes, the grocery store, etc - you get my point.
Last note - in the month of Jan. our expenses were a tad over $200k for the month just in the New Car Sales department - now we are bigger than the average Infiniti store - but it is all relative. These expenses include payroll, training, taxes, supplies, advertising, software, rent, insurance, blah, blah, blah - you get the picture - trust me when I tell you - dealers are not selling vehicles at invoice or below and staying in business long - so keep in mind PRICE is NOT the only factor and just know they are going to make a little money on each deal - doesn't mean they will make a profit in the end that depends on how many they sell....
PS You can always lease the Infiniti through an outside leasing agency or simply go to another dealer that is willing to give the "buy rate" (money factor without marking it up).
I'll jump off the soap box - hope this helps - I've been selling and financing vehicles for 15 years - we finish #3 in the entire Nation is 2010 (#1 in 2009) in selling New Infinitis.....
In comparison, BMW dealers can mark up BMWFS rates by .0004 (or, about 1%).. They can mark up the special finance rates the same amount...
Infiniti dealers have an advantage... in that, you don't find one on every corner, so less direct competition from other Infiniti dealers...
