No, it's leather. I used the Consumer Reports pricing report, which includes the dealer holdback on this car. That lowered the invoice by about $887.

Does anyone know when will new G35 start coming to the dealer's lots.
I don't want to purchase one now and find out a couple months later that its value has dropped 40% because it is a year old at that time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,
I am looking for a G35 6 MT in Carribean Blue. In Florida, all I can find is Twilight blue which is almost black. The dealer said he thougth they were no longer making Carribean Blue. I also would like the premium package but without the sunroof to give a bit more headroom. Again I am told this is not possible. I appreciate any experience others have had with either topic.

There hasn't been any official news yet. Last year, the transition occured in June, with new orders for 04 models the first week of June, with delivery starting in late August.

Hi, anyone have feedback on how the RWD performs in snowy conditions ?
I'm concerned about all this power at my rear on those snowy northeast mornings. THX :)

Hi rjp6. It would be best to check out our ongoing G35 discussion. That's really the best place to ask since it is not on topic here in this Prices Paid discussion.

Just click on that link - when you get there, try the "Search This Discussion" feature on the page bar. I think you'll find lots of information on that subject.

    Welcome to the Town Hall!

I am currently shopping in the 'burbs north of Chicago for a G35x sedan with the premium package. Has anyone recently purchased a similar vehicle in this area, and if so, could you provide as much pricing detail as possible? Also, which dealer did you buy from and did you use any other dealers as negotiating tools? Thanks.
  • patpat Member Posts: 10,421
    Hi cuamba, welcome!

Try using the "Search This Discussion" feature on the page bar for Chicago - you'll find a number of messages that may be helpful to you. Good luck!

Hello everyone. I believe I got a pretty good deal on a G35 sedan, but I'm sitting here the next morning just wanting to be sure... not that it's going to matter anymore! But, here are the specs:

    '03 G35 sedan, Auto
    Premium Package
    Sport Package
    NAV
    Cargo net, stuff
    Rear Spoiler
    18k miles

    $27,700
  • lmacmillmacmil Member Posts: 1,758
If you were satisfied with the value received for the price paid, then it was a good deal. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

That's probably close to $10K off the sticker of a similarly equipped '04 and you still have plenty of factory warranty left. Objectively, that seems like a good deal.

I went to my local Infiniti dealer and tried to buy a G35 Coupe. The
dealer refused to go lower then MSRP for the vehicle. Is this a
standard practice for Infiniti dealers? The vehicle was an auto
with Premium Package and performance wheels and tires. Thanks
    for any help.
  • buckeye3dbuckeye3d Member Posts: 5
My local dealer (Infiniti of Columbus) flat out said no negotiating on price. MSRP for the coupe or no sale. Sedans are another matter (without any haggling you can get 1K off).
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
The Coupe has always been in great demand. Supply is easing a bit now though and it is possible to get some money off it. Sedans are another matter. In some parts of the country you can get them for as little as $150 over invoice if you are willing to work at it.
  • velhovelho Member Posts: 1
Same thing happened to me when I was shopping for my Coupe in Northern California, all dealers I went/called told me everybody is paying MSRP, they are in high demand, they don't get enough supply, blah blah blah...I checked the TMV of the Coupe in my area from edmunds.com, to get an idea of how much I should be paying. Quite a few dealers take few hundreds off as soon as I refused to pay MSRP. I finally got mine last Fri. 5 speed AT leather with Premium, performance, 3 pieces aero package, $1500 off MSRP. I might be able to get another $500 off if I "walk away", but that was too much to risk. Bottom line, do some homework before stepping into the dealers. Good luck.

try cincy dealers you should be able to get a discount.
  • jonturjontur Member Posts: 4
Has anyone got a discount off MSRP when ordering.
  • cheerioboy26cheerioboy26 Member Posts: 412
you can certainly get a discount. I got a discount when I ordered just two months after the sedan came out....and this was May 2002.

    Hi:
    Need your input.
Lease 2004 Infiniti G-35 coupe w/leather, performance package,
floor mats and splash guards. $700 down includes
first months payments tax title tag 39 months
12,000 miles per year $450 per month plus s/t.
They want to charge a $395.00 termination fee
they are claiming the bank must have it.
MSRP with options $34,660 includes $590 destination charge. Is this a good deal? If not what is?
    Thanks

what selling price is the lease based on?
  • lmacmillmacmil Member Posts: 1,758
Go to the lease board and find out what the current Infiniti deal is (money factor and residual), then plug into the lease formula (also available on Edmunds) to see if it is a good deal or not. Dealers are not obligated to offer the deal that the manufacturer's financial arm is offering. If they get you to pay more, I think they pocket the difference.
  • bobaboba Member Posts: 1
What site i have to check to get current Infiniti deal(money factor and residual).
  • lmacmillmacmil Member Posts: 1,758
Go to the "Lease questions - ask here" forum and do a search on G35. If you find a post from "Car_man" on G35 in the last month, it's probably still current. If not, ask and he'll find out.

    Hi:
the dealer told me gross capitalized cost (agreed upon value of the vehicle) is $33,991.
    Thanks for answering

    Hi all,

I just found what I think is a sweet deal but thought I ask the experts their opinion I stumbled across an ad for a 03 G35 coupe (automatic)with 16,500 miles, aero package, premium package, spoiler, and performance wheel and tire package. It also has all factory options except Nav. The ad had pics of all sides and interior, the owner has title and I get seven days to inspect and he pays for shipping. All for 18,900. Is this a good deal for an 03?
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
Be very careful. If this is on the level you have a great deal. The book on a car like that is around $27000 wholesale, $29500 private sale and $32000 dealer. Have it checked and make sure the title is good and all the VINS match. Running it through a service like Carfax might be a good idea too.

    It's been 2 weeks I have purchased G35 4Dr Sedan.
    Premium Package with full spare
    Nav System
    Splash Guards
    Diamond Graphite Exterior
    Diamond Graphite Interior
    Invoice Price $32900
I paid $500 over invoice and got 1.9% financing
After $15,000 down payment I will pay $386.00 for 60 months.
What do you guys say. Did I do good or could have I done better.
By the way thanks for your input in my decision as well.
  • ruskiruski Member Posts: 1,566
how come people ask whether they got a good deal or not AFTER they closed on the deal? wouldn't it make more sense to ask before?
  • lmacmillmacmil Member Posts: 1,758
What makes you feel good about a deal? When you think you got a good deal. What makes you feel even better? When other people tell you you got a good deal.

I wonder the same thing because nothing can ruin the euphoria of a good deal like someone else telling you you paid too much.
  • crni29crni29 Member Posts: 11
I realize that but I was simply putting out info regardless of your guys's response I know I got the good deal. You can't do better than $500 over invoice on the car that I got. with all the options. Nav System is extremely rare and to match a color interior, exterior plus options I wanted plus the fact that the car was not driven except Engineers I think I did well.
Car had plastic sheets on the seats and only 7 miles
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
A buddy of mine got an '04 for $100 over :)
  • crni29crni29 Member Posts: 11
I don't know man it is hard to believe that they would sell G35 sedan for $100 over invoice. I checked entire Cali Plus AZ and lowest I got was Cali but it was $300 over Invoice. I guess it all depends on the vehicle its self. How long has it been at the floor and how many miles on it. Color, Options those all matter. I got the car that no one had on the West Cost except the dealer I bought it from. Car was not on the floor at all and had 5 miles on it.
Once again $100 over invoice on a new 04 G35 is a great deal.
  • crni29crni29 Member Posts: 11
No one is asking for arrogant answers. If you read my comment carefully RUSKI you will see that I thank people for helping me make a decision.
    cool ok.
  • garydgaryd Member Posts: 4
It sounds too good to me. I recently bought a new leftover 03 and priced the used ones. None less than about 22K, and that had more miles. If it all checks out, grab it.
  • rshaffer1rshaffer1 Member Posts: 6
I'm in market for either an MT6 coupe with leather, premium, splash guards and rear mat (MSRP = $35,560, I believe), or an AT coupe with same options plus performance pkg (same MSRP). I've been quoted "a firm" $34,000 plus tax, tags, etc. which looks to be about $1500 over invoice. Any thoughts on this price?

Also, what has anyone been quoted for a dealer installed (i know they farm it out) clear bra? From what I've read in these forums, it seems like a mandatory purchase.
  • rshaffer1rshaffer1 Member Posts: 6
You probably know this already, since your post was on 5/12, but the lease deal you cited was a pretty good one, IF the contract calls for a residual value in the $21,140 - $21,490 range (basically, 61-62% of MSRP). In NJ, your $450/month plus tax would work out to $477. I was quoted $487/mo including tax, with a $1,600 all-in upfront payment. The car in question does have a $900 higher MSRP, but your $700 all-in upfront payment is still a better number (I'd be paying for 100% of my higher MSRP upfront, but only get to use 61% of it during the lease term). The money factor in my offer was 0.002, which equates to an internal interest rate of 4.8% for the 39 month term. Your implicit interest rate was a bit lower than that.

BTW, what happened with your deal? Success?

FYI, Pleasanton Infiniti has $4000 off msrp for automatic sedans this week (excludes Navigation and AWD). Internet-only special. This deal was emailed to me because I made an inquiry on their web site a few months ago, so if you sign up they may send you the same deal.

I'm a new sales person for Infiniti and would like to ask people why did they choose the G-35? I'd like to know what features owners like best so I can show them to my customers.

    Thanks for your input!
  • spasticspastic Member Posts: 3
RWD, balanced handling (no excessive understeer like most cars), 260hp, room in the back for baby seats.
  • dmandman Member Posts: 24
I liked the performance and look of the car. Just take them out for a test drive and tell them not to be shy with the gas or steering, hehe.

As for people buying their G35's for xxx dollars under/over invoice, isn't the invoice an "arbitrary" number? I've seen different invoices for the same model with the same options at different dealerships.
  • lmacmillmacmil Member Posts: 1,758
I don't think the invoice is an arbitrary number. With the possible exception of regional advertising assessments and dealer holdback, I think what we refer to as invoice (i.e., what the dealer pays the manufacturer for the car) is the same regardless of dealer.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
The "invoice" is the actual invoice sent to the dealer from Infiniti NA. Ask to see the one for the actual car you are buying. If the dealer refuses then walk. The invoice should be a half letter size sheet with the Infiniti logo and name in the red / maroon that Infiniti uses.
Bear in mind that prices changed on 1st April and there is another price rise going through at the moment so depending on how long the car has been on the lot, the invoice is going to vary.

260hp/260lbft torque hooked to 6-speed driving the REAR wheels. 4 doors, balanced chassis, good brakes, aggresive looks, and comfortable interior.

It's a drivers car, pure and simple.
  • crni29crni29 Member Posts: 11
I have performed extensive research, and no car was able to compare with G35. I am previous owner of 3 series BMW and that is all I drove, but G35 is just amazing. Power, handling, comfort, warranty, standard features, price, resale value all of those things are just one great combination for G35. I will never drive BMW again, overpriced and under performing sports car.
  • gasmangasman Member Posts: 16
I'm in NY. My wife had a terrible time with winter driving in her Lexus GS300, and swore she would only drive an AWD from now on. She refuses to drive an SUV. She will also not drive a German car. That leaves only Volvo (doesn't like the ride, I don't like the performance), Jaguar (lousy reviews, expensive), Subaru (too small), and Infiniti, which seems the best of the bunch for us.
  • ryokenryoken Member Posts: 291
Because it's a sports sedan, not a sporty family sedan.

Almost got a 330i, but I have 2 kids and decided it was just a bit too small and a bit too $$$.

Powerful, balanced, comfortable, and gadgety. Plus, somehow they made it look both elegant and sporty at the same time.

Planning to lease the G35 sedan with premium pkg. The lease is $3350 drive off, 39 months, 12k miles/year and a $325 monthly payment. Just wondering if that's a good deal. Thanks.
  • lmacmillmacmil Member Posts: 1,758
Check over on the least board. How much capitalized cost reduction? Most lease experts recommend not putting anything down.

I'm looking to purchase a used G35 coupe. I have found one that I love, leather/automatic, premium package, areo, & navigation. It has 25K miles and Infiniti of Richmond was listing it for $31,995. Without any hassle I got the price down to $30,650. I believe I could get it for $30,000; which, according to edmunds, kbb, etc, seems to be an awesome deal. Edmunds has this car for dealer retail @ $33K; which is on par with other G35 coupes on the market with this equipment. I got the Carfax detail and it is clean (no accidents, etc.). It does appear to have already had two owners and the dealership bought this car at auction. Why do I feel leery about this car? Is the price simply b/c of the mileage; I'm not too concerned about the mileage since the car still has 30 months and 35000 miles left on the warranty. Tell me what I'm missing? The guy is pushing me to come in by tomorrow b/c he says this car won't last. It has been on his lot since 5/15. Thanks in advance!

I'm in the process of buying a 2004 G35 Coupe. I wanted to know if you guys think this is a good deal:
    Desert Platinum
    Premium Package
    Auto, sunroof, Bose System
    Leather Seats
    Rear Mat
    etc.
Dealer says he'll take $33,137, which is actually $1530 below Edmund's MSRP value for the car. It's even a couple of hundred below the TMV Edmund's displays.
What do you all think and what advice can you give me in going about with this purchase? I'm thinking of purchasing within 2-3 weeks.
    Thanks Everyone.
