I have the following deal in the works and was wondering if anyone would comment on terms?

    2004 G35X
    Premium package,full sized spare
    XM Satelitte radio
    Splash guards
    Truck mat
Sticker price - $36,470 including destination charge

Offer for 39 month lease, 15,000 miles per year:
    60% residual value
.00200 money factor (4.8% interest rate)
Cap cost (agreed upon price for car) - $34,412
    Monthly payments of $473

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Hi Wibble,
I am simply saying that an Educated buyer can get a G35x, today, for 700 below invoice, that I know for a fact.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
That money factor is on the high side. This months rate for 39 months / 15000 miles is 0.0017 but then the residual is higher than published. Have you run the numbers through the Edmunds lease calculator to make sure it all adds up.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
I just punched these numbers into my lease calculator. Assuming $500 acquiaition fee, $600 security deposit and $0 down I get $464 a month. This doesn't include any registration or tax so it looks pretty close.

    Hi all,

Should I expect to pay full msrp on an 04 6 MT with premium in the tristate area? If so, I guess I would wait and order the color I really want with out that ugly spoiler and get the improved interior and extra HP for a minimun increase.

    Thanks for any thoughts.
  • cheerioboy26cheerioboy26 Member Posts: 412
    what tristate area?

Anyway, I think all the 04s have been ordered, and the next ordering period (first week of Aug) is for 05 models. But there is late availability (december) for the coupe 05 6mt, so you might want to ask a dealer. As far as pricing, I thought most people are getting a discount ($1K?) off coupe MSRP, but I don't know for sure.
  • jaydolljaydoll Member Posts: 120
NY/NJ/CT area but I also live close enough to get up to the Boston area. Just trying to figure out whether any mods to the interior and the +15-20 HP are worth 1K savings. now if along wit hthe additional HP, they add 19" wheels and other things that bump up the price so that the price difference is substantial, I would buy now. A dealer in MA has a Diamond Graphite/graphite 6MT with prem/XM/splash guards/trunk mat which stickers at $36200. Twilight blue is my first color choice but I also like the Diamond graphite. This dealer is telling me that he is willing to deal. I will find out Friday what that means. I hope it means more than 1K off MSRP.

Thanks for the info, wibble. I know that I am getting screwed on the money factor, but the 60% residual should help. When you did your calculation, did you use the 60% number or the published residual? in other words can you tell me if a 60% residual with .00200 matches up with a more standard residual of 53-54% with the much lower .00017 money factor?
  • ace2004ace2004 Member Posts: 22
As per 2 of the big Infinity dealers in NY, Wibble's figures are off, they have considerable better numbers than what he came up with. Shop around JBB123.

My figures are correct as far as the figures (mf and residual) that the original poster quoted. I know there are better deals out there. I am negotiating on a 2004 G35x at the moment. The best lease quote I have so far is $356 for a 12,000, 39 month long contract.
Using the mf, residual and purchase price that the original poster put on here, could you please let me know what monthly payment you calculated?
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
You're still better off with the higher mf and the higher residual by around $10-15 a month.

GO Downtown!!! Looks like my message got deleted because I mentioned the worthless salesguys at Crest who tried thier best to stick it to me. Dealership you want to go to is Sewell!!! Don't waste your time at Crest. Seems as though the sales tactics, all the way from the fleet manager down to the salesmen (they kept turfing me from salesguy to salesguy) are involved. Read the tips and sales advice "confessions of an underground salesman"! I believe that I found the dealership that he went to!!!

Hi, just received lease terms on 2004 G35 sedan w/premium package in Chicago suburbs. 399.00 p/m with first months payment+ licenses=481.00 due at signing. Lease is for 39 months. The car at invoice, the residual 20950 money factor .00167 [4%]. Anyone get a better deal, if so please reply.
  • jcb123jcb123 Member Posts: 18
Thanks for all the advice. I think I am going to make the deal if I can get them to drop the "out the door" amount. Per my understanding, normally the idea is nothing down, 1st months payment, security deposit if required, tax and license. My dealer appears to be double-dipping on the acquisition cost -- there is a $550 acquisition cost that is being capitalized + plus he is trying to get me to pay $1,000 to walk out the door -- $473 mponthly payment + $49 registration fee is OK, but remaining balance of about $550 looks like a duplication. One salesman, from another related dealership that I have worked with before called this "the pleasure of doing business" fee??? implying that I should pay for the convenience of having a mega-dealer with 10 different car makes/models in 1 location... sounds like some real BS to me ... any comment
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
Say absolutely "no" to these sort of extras. There is enough profit in that deal that they don't need to pull that sort of nonsense. "Dealer Prep" and the like is already paid to the dealer by Infiniti. You haven't mentioned any security deposit. Have they mentioned it or waived it in favor of a higher money factor?
  • jcb123jcb123 Member Posts: 18
Have not heard anyone mention a security deposit. I did not pay one on my current lease. That may be why the money factor is .00200 vs the lower .00170 -- I will check on it. Don't want a last minute fee added after all of this ...

I am currently leasing a 2002 Solara SLE with very low mileage (13,000 miles) which I have 5 payments left on. The buyout, including taxes and fees, is about $16,540, which is just about what I figured the trade-in value might be, so I figured it might be worth seeing if I could sell or trade the car now for the buyout amount and then lease a new G35x .

My parents, who have a G35 coupe received a coupon for "up to $5000 off" which was only good for two days so I decided it would be a good time to see if my local dealer could work out a deal where they purchased my car for the buyout and I leased a new G35x. I also understood before going to visit the dealership that the $5000 off was probably for the more expensive models, but did expect a reasonable discount of the G35, which was listed on the coupon.

My parents recommended the salesman they dealt with, based on their overall good buying experience, so I called him and set up an appointment with him. He showed me the various models and equipment packages available, I test drove the car, and then we sat down to discuss price. When I called him to set up the appointment I told him I currently leased a Solara and that I still had 5 payments left, and at that time he thought they might be able to buy it out. After we sat down he ran back and forth to his manager in order to determine the value of my car and told me it was only worth $14,000 as a trade-in. I had gone online prior to the appointment to research the value myself and determined that, based on both Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book, the trade-in value is around $16,500. Needless to say he seemed way off and I told him this. I had a print-out of the Edmunds trade-in value with me and showed it to him, but he said that Edmunds values are not accurate, and the Kelly Blue Book value is what they use. I told him that I had also looked at Kelly Blue Book, which was about the same, but had not printed it out. We then discussed price of the car, and what term I was looking to lease the car for. He then left to talk with his manager and when he came back he told me he was discounting the car from $36,120, to about $34,600. He never mentioned the possible discounts offered by the coupon. The lease price would be $489.99 per month for 39 months with $3000 in up front costs. I wondered what all of the up-front costs were, since I had told him I only wanted to pay taxes & first month, so I asked him for a breakdown. He had to leave again to check and came back with with a print-out that indicated a higher agreed price ($35,100), a bank fee, a $900 down payment, 1st month, and tax. As you can see, not only was the price of the car higher, but he had added a down payment and fees in. I asked why the price of the car was higher than we talked about previously and he said that they were adding in what his wholesaler would not pay for the Solara. We talked back and forth and seemed to be going in circles so and I finally told him I wanted to try to make the deal work as follows: They buy the Solara at the buyout cost; I would pay tax and 1st month (basically only necessary fees); and I wanted a lease price of $450/month for 39 months for the $34,600 agreed upon price. He had to leave again and when he came back he might be able to get the monthly payments donw to $479/month, but the $3000 up-front still applied. I told him it still wasn’t acceptable, and he wasn’t willing to try to do any better, so I thanked him for his time and left. The fact I wanted to trade the Solara seemed to be making the deal difficult so I will either wait, try to sell the car on my own, or look at another car.

Does anyone have any opinion about this? Do you think the dealer was being truthful with me about the value of my Solara? Was the lease price fair? It seemed high compared to what I have seen in a few posts. If you add in the up-front costs it works out to be a total of $567 per month.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
In my experience, dealerships that use KBB for values usually base their trade in figures on the "fair" condition. Using this gives a value of around $12250 on a standard 2002 Solara SLE.
The discount offered on the G35x is laughable. If you look a few messages back, one of the fine people here got a G35x in NY for $700 UNDER invoice. I would definitely advise you not to go for this deal. On the surface, the $14000 for the trade doesn't seem to be too bad but the rest of the deal is awful.
You could try Toyota and see if they'll take the car back early or try around your local Toyota dealers and see what they'll give you for it.

G35, 6MT, Prem package, trunk mat, splash guard, +doc fee

    My offer: 31550
    dealer: 32100

Dealer has no 6MT in stock, has to pick up one from other dealership and asked for "Freight fee" of transportation. And said they will lose holdback that way, is that true?

BTW, what is a reasonable price if I want to add a rear spoiler?
  • jaydolljaydoll Member Posts: 120
    mliu66,

Please excuse my ignorance. Is this a for a sedan?
  • jaydolljaydoll Member Posts: 120
To all recent coupe 6MT buyers, Really need your help.

Started out being offered 1K off the msrp for a 6MT with premium and trunk guard+ spalsh guards. As you know this time of year 6MT coupes are becoming hard to find and I fear with the new model year, will come a good price hike for the incresed HP and larger wheels. Today I was offered a price of $34,000 on a coupe with just prem bringing the discount to $1540. In CT you get socked with a high doc fee compared to other states but still this seems like a good deal. There are two coupes in the two colors I really like, equiped identically. 1- diamond graphite/graphite interior and 1- twilight blue/willow. Money factors are not that bad now so I may lease. If I lease, Im leaning towards the D graphite car just because it won't show scratches on the outside as much as the twightlight blue and dirt on the inside as much as willow.

So to recap, is $1540 off the sticker price of a 6MT coupe a good deal? And Twilight blue/willow owners, what do you think of your color having owned it a while? Is it tough to keep it clean?

Thanks, tomorrow morning is the when I am thinking of pulling the trigger.

I just received an Internet quote from Ramsey Inifiniti in NJ for a G35x with the Premium Package and Wood trim for $33,399 (MSRP according to the dealer is $36,120). I want to make a decision soon; please help!

    1. Is this a good, bad, or great offer?
    2. If I want the navigation on top of this, how much should I offer? ($34,500 a reasonable offer?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
The invoice on that car is $33089 so the dealers offer is $310 over invoice. Not bad but someone here got theirs for $700 under (Crest Infiniti in NY I think but check the older messages to be certain) and I've seen $200 under elsewhere.
Invoice for the same car with navigation is $34894.
  • ace2004ace2004 Member Posts: 22
    Sorry Koom,
You should be doing the G35X at 32,820 or better, I know that for a personal fact!
    With navigation add 1,500.....about 34,320.
I just been down that road, if need any help can bring you up to speed.

Wibble, I see you mention a lease deal on a 2004 G35x for $356, 12k, 39 mths. What options are included in this and how much are you putting down? I assume taxes are not included. Thanks in advance
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
It's for a premium package only with an MSRP of $35890. I'm putting $2500 down. I'm lucky to live in Oregon so there's no sales tax and registration costs are pretty minimal. Downside is that there is only one Infiniti dealer in the state so I'm going to have to get the car from CA.
  • bimmer12bimmer12 Member Posts: 72
The lack of competition in the pacific northwest hampers you so it's a good move to go to a more competitive market in CA. Out here in the Northeast, it's pretty competitive. As a point of reference, some of the advertisements I've seen for the G35x w/ premium are $269, $4200 down, 39 months, $1K down+tax, etc. Hefty down payment which I'm not a big fan of but save about $1500. I'm going to the dealer this week to deal in person and will report back my findings.

Could you all give me a hand and tell me what a good deal for a G35 sedan with the prem package w/full size spare and navigation should cost. the only other things I might consider adding is the trunk mat and the wood trim. But I think I like it w/o the wood. Also does the color splach guards come with the prem package? If not I would add that as well. Basically I'm trying to figure out what dealer invoice is and what dealer actual cost is.

By the way I am in Socal and visited cerritos Infiniti and got to look at a bunch of different G35 and test drive one and was never haggled once about price or anything. Also I know there are plenty of Infinity dealers in SOCAL.

    thanks for the help.

Just leased an 04 G35 Sedan RWD with Premium and wood package from Competition Infiniti on Long Island. Price was $30,500, $3655 below MSRP. About $500 below invoice. Good deal and very pleasant dealer experience. Did deal over the phone with the Internet manager.

I am getting a 2003 base sedan (without premium etc.) with 14K miles for about 27K (incl taxes, 9% here). Is this a fair deal?
  • g35catg35cat Member Posts: 2
Bought my G35 Coupe today, loaded. Sticker price was $39,210. I ended up paying $33,110. My trade in was $13,500, which was also $800.00 OVER KBB Excellent condition trade in price. My car was probably about "Good" condition, the tires were going to need changing and the front bumber was scratched up. I think I got a good deal, I purchased the car, got every option available. My monthly payment is $620. I hope I did okay... what worked for me, I went to two different dealers, and the dealer I worked with Saturday actually called while I was discussing price with the guy today. They had a bidding war around me, and I think it helped.

The destination charge covers Infinitis cost of deleivering the car to the dealer. It is $595 and is on the sticker. Every car manufacture has this charge.

Can you give me some pointers on how you got the car so far under invoice? Last month there didn't appear to be any manufacturer to dealer incentives. I actually just got a G35 myself in NJ, at $100 over invoice, but would like to "learn" for next time. Thanks!

Been quoted teh same $33,389 from Ramsey Infinti in NJ(and Pepe infiniti in white plains and douglas infiniti in NJ) for a G35x with premium package and wood. Ace2004, please send me an email as well so that I can better negotiate the deal of a RWD 2004 G35 sedan.

GlenH, I am also in the market to buy my G35 in the next 2 weeks. I don't know if we can get better deals if we shop at the same dealer.

    Thanks a lot
