G35x with no premium package and no other options in the northeast. This was exactly what I wanted.

I think I got a decent deal - basically at invoice.

    MSRP: 32,100
    Invoice: 29,526
    Destination: 590

I paid: $30k on the nose (not incl sales tax of course)

About a 3% profit deal for the dealer - unless there are other incentives they are getting from Infiniti USA that I dont know.

I cant wait to pick up the car tomorrow.

In the North East that's a pretty good deal. The AWD cars always go for more in the cold weather areas.

    I am looking at leasing a 2004 G35 AWD.

The MSRP is $38320 and the invoice shows to be $35040.

What would be an appropriate capitalized cost for this car and could someone provide me with the money factor and residual based on:

    39 months/12K miles per year
    39 months/10K miles per year

I am assuming that 39 months is currently the optimal program that Infiniti is offering in relation to the residuals, etc.

    Thanks for your assistance

Hi, I just got my black on black G35AWD with premium pkg, Nev system, wood pag, chrome wheels(5sets) for $37,090. I took a bus to Atlantic Infiniti in Lynbrook NY and drove my baby all the way back home in PA (330mi). Oh.the car rocks, and I feel so good when I am driving it. I am looking for more chances to get on it every day.
love the Nevigation system so much, now I can go anywhere without a map...
  • ranajoranajo Member Posts: 57
Pajack, what was the MSRP on your car?
  • pajackpajack Member Posts: 32
It is MSRP$39,922 plus $1,250 Lojack and window anti-theft protection Pkg. The total MSRP is $41,175 got it for $37,090...
    what a nice car again!!!
Had it for 5 days now.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
I believe the guy in the leasing forum gave you the current money factor and residuals. The cap cost is really going to depend where you are. In warmer areas like So. Cal. and the Gulf States you can get close to invoice if not under it. In the North-East and North-West closer to $1000 over invoice is going to be needed.
39 months is the best way to go for the lowest payments.

Help, Everyone! I want to buy an 04 G35 Coupe this week. Has anyone heard of any incentives for September on the remaining 04's? What would be a good price to offer on premium pkg, aero pkg, no navigation? Please advise...I'm ready to go to the dealership!
  • pajackpajack Member Posts: 32
HI skelco11 Go to check the Atlantic Infiniti in lynbrook NY. They are having a sale on 2004 coupe now..Hurry up...
I just got my G35AWD $250 under invoice price there.

Do you work at an Infiniti dealership? If so, I am looking at an 04 coupe, premium pkg, and aero pkg.
  • sammy2sammy2 Member Posts: 7
I currently live in NJ, most of the good deals seems to be in NY area. Do I need to pay NY tax, if I buy the car in NY.

Current tax rate in NY i believe is 8.25%, and in NJ is 6%

    Thanks in advance
  • loug35loug35 Member Posts: 15
I live in NJ to and seems like around here they are sitting tight and now willing to budge. So I be glad to take my business a little north of me to a dealer or dealers who want my business.

Has anyone leased a G35 Coupe in No Calif.? Just curious what the pricing is like? I haven't started yet, but wanted to know what other people got before I started out the door.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
Niello (not sure this is the right spelling but it's close) in Concord have a reputation for low pricing. Coupes do seem to hold their price a bit more in California than elsewhere though.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
To get the factory fitted aero package, you need the tire package too. This brings the MSRP (with premium package) to $36090. 4% over invoice brings it to $34350 ($1321 over invoice).

Wibble - Who doesn't advertise his business here :)
  • ranajoranajo Member Posts: 57
Wibble, thanks for the prompt response.

Interesting that one of the Infiniti dealers that I have been working with insists that the residual on the 39 mo/10K is 58% - contrary to what Car_man indicated at 59%.

I am located in Northern Virginia and it does appear that I will have to travel a little further out to get a deal for invoice or thereabouts.

Do you have any idea if September is likely to bring any more favorable incentives from Infiniti? I get the impression that dealers still have a lot of G35s' in inventory.
  • ranajoranajo Member Posts: 57
Pajack - thanks for the MSRP information.

Were you charged any dealer prep/doc type fees in addition to the price that you stated?

Wibble, do you know if there have been any changes on the money factor and other incentives for the month of September on the G35 AWD?
  • pajackpajack Member Posts: 32
Hi sammy2 I bought a G35x in Lynbrook NY last week and I have to get back to PA and pay 6% tax.

You should pay NJ's tax because you hold NJ's driver's license.
  • pajackpajack Member Posts: 32
    Hi ranajo.

$37,090 is the our of door price.
That's everything, but I have to pay tax on that car in PA which is 6 percent.

Infiniti are notoriously slow at getting their finance information out each month. As soon as I can get my paws on anything I'll let you know.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
Good deal! Glad you like the car. Something to bear in mund when it comes to Lo-Jack and the like. The dealer cost on Lo-Jack is around the $550 to $600 mark.

wibble and pajack - thanks for all the information that you shared. It was very helpful in working out pricing on the G35x that I bought last night.

I purchased the car from Rosenthal Infiniti at Tysons Corner. I am located in Northern Virginia. The MSRP was $38320 and included the navi, premium package, wood trim, splash guards and trunk mat with full spare. Dealer invoice is $35040.

I paid $34,999 plus tt&l. This was the full price including the dealer processing fee of $299 that Rosenthal charges - so the pricing without the fee was $34700. Also included in the price were free oil changes for the first two years or 30K miles - whichever comes first.

I financed it with Infiniti's 2.9% financing over 60 months. I had the option of leasing it over 39 months using the money factor, residual and bank fee that wibble and car_man provided. It just made more sense for me to go the outright purchase route given that the effective rate on the lease would have been 4.1% and then one would pay the bank fee of $550. VA charges the full sales tax on the capitalized cost irrespective of lease or purchase.

pajack, I did contact Atlantic and their price was about $400 lower than that offered by Rosenthal but it would have meant trekking over to NY to pick up the car. Between, the inconvenience and the cost of getting there and back, it seemed best to make the deal locally. The free oil changes that I got as part of the deal was an added plus. But it did provide me with a benchmark for pricing which was very useful.

All in all, I feel I did well on the price - and it was in no small measure because of all the information that is shared on this forum.

    Thanks to everyone.

Congrats on the new car. I too have gone to Rosenthal in Tysons to see the G35x and RWD as I work around the corner. Since my wife qualifies for VPP pricing I was thinking of waiting for the 2005 model to come out but not sure if it makes sense to buy the 04. Does anyone know the approximate VPP price for the 04 G35x with and without navi. Any opinions on getting the AWD vs. RWD in the greater washington region? Thanks for any help as I will be buying the G35 soon as IMO it drives better than other cars in the same class I have driven.
  • ranajoranajo Member Posts: 57
newguy2, re AWD vs RWD for use in the DC area, I would suggest that it is a function of where you live and work and the effectiveness of snow-clearing. I am located in an area where the thorough clearing of our residential areas can be as much two days after the main roads have been cleared and so if there is a heavy snow fall, not having an AWD or 4 wheel drive vehicle would be a problem.

I cannot help you with VPP pricing but as far as waiting for the 05s' the one thing to keep in mind is that the favorable financing and lease terms are less likely to be available with the 05s' - at least for the first several months. I would also think that negotiating a better deal might be more difficult than with the 04s'.

I am not aware of any significant changes that will be made in the 05 vs the 04. The Infiniti dealers in the greater Washington area, right now, seem more prepared to deal than is often the case - perhaps, it is being caused high inventory levels.
  • ranajoranajo Member Posts: 57
wibble, I understand that the current financing incentives that Infiniti is offering on the G35s' end on September 6. So any changes are likely to occur after that date.

A reporter is looking for consumers who have traded in a paid-off older vehicle for a new(er) one. Did you trade in because of repair costs, or worries about reliability or safety? Was the peace of mind worth the cost (payments, depreciation)?

Jaydoll, thanks for the response. Not sure if I get your point about invoice vs MSRP though. MSRP to me is a made up number, so I don't care what they take off it. I care what they paid and how much above that I am going to have to pay.

Anyway, I ended up buying through a dealer in PA who got the car from a NY dealer. It was the only place I could find exactly what I wanted and they offered the best pricing as well. I ended up paying $2,450 off MSRP or $750 over invoice. I'm pretty happy with the pricing, and I love the car! Thanks a lot for your feedback.

By the way for those still looking out there, this dealer just got in a bunch more '04 G35's in this week, and I wouldn't doubt that other dealers are getting more in as well. The manufacturer is pushing the cars on them. I think I could have done better if I had negotiated this week instead of two weeks ago.

    VPP on an '04 G35x is going to be around the $200 over invoice mark. You can get better at the moment. However, it will be a way to get a really good price on the 2005. If you haven't seen the changes for 2005 check out;

Thanks for the info. I saw the news that came out on the 05s and think I might wait until they are out to buy one using the VPP. Any idea on pricing for the 05s? Still not sure if it is better to buy the AWD or RWD as my wife will be driving from Howard County to Baltimore everyday or me to Tysons. I also saw that someone on the board said Rosenthal sucked. I must say the guy at Rosenthal in Tysons (Nick) was very nice and helpful thus far. HE did not seem like the typical snake oil guys that were at the Acura dealer on Rt 40.

    Infiniti are notorious for not releasing details of pricing on new models until the last minute, even to dealers. As soon as it is knwn it will be on the following site;

Hello all...I've been on the phone with the Infiniti dealership today and they have given me the following offers:

    G35 Coupe with Premium Package
    10,000 miles/yr
    39 mo Lease
    $1500 total upfront, out-of-pocket expenses
    $444 for the 6MT
    OR
    $414 for the 5AT

    Thoughts....is this a good deal?
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
The romour mill has it that pricing on the 2005 G35's will see the light of day on 9/21.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
Any idea on the cap reduction? Taking a $1000 off the MSRP of the auto and using the current residuals and money factor I get $417 a month. Taking $1000 off on the 6MT I get $444! Both figues exclude tax. Looks like you've got some honest figures there.
  • bobcbobc Member Posts: 5
When you buy the automatic G35 coupe with the performance wheel and tire package, does that include the Brembo® Brakes? Or is it just for the 6 speeds?
It is listed on the Infiniti specs, but it is sort of confusing.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
The Brembo brake calipers are only available on the 6MT Coupe.

    Hello,

I am in PA, looking to buy an ’04 AWD G35 with Premium Package and Splash Guards only. Hoping to receive your input on how much I should pay. According to Edmunds, Infinity dealer’s holdback is 1% off base MSRP plus 2% off base invoice. Here are my calculations:

    $29,526 (invoice price)
    Less $319 (1% base MSRP)
    Less $590 (2% base invoice)
    Plus $2,757 (Premium package)
    Plus $98 (splash Guards)
    Plus $590 (delivery fee)
    Total: $32,062

Should I be over or under this figure? Any faults with this calculation?

Thanks a bunch! I am hoping to wrap it up before the 1.9% financing deal is over. Any good dealers (hate haggling too much) in PA/NJ/DE/NY? Thanks!
  • ranajoranajo Member Posts: 57
I don't think that it is realistic to expect a price based on the dealer giving up the entire hold-back.

The best that I have seen posted on this board is about $500 below dealer invoice - and I think that was in the West Coast. Pricing in the North East is not as competitive especially on the AWD. Pajack posted that Atlantic in Lynwood, NY was offering very competitive pricing. I was offered a good deal when I contacted them but ended up purchasing locally at a little below dealer invoice - though I did have two years of free oil changes thrown in as part of the deal.
  • kittenmeowkittenmeow Member Posts: 15
    Hi, again!
I am getting the info that G35x had a price increase from $29,068 (base) to $29,526 sometime in mid-May. Is this true, or am I being snowed?
If it is true, would the invoice that the salesman offered me to see reflect it? Thanks again!
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
    It's Wibbles Greatest Hits! Here's a repost of one of my old messages that explains (hopefully) about the G35 price increases;

There's been 3 different price increases on G35's in the last year. Firstly, the destination charge was raised from $545 to $595. Any cars with the $545 charge will have been shipped before the raise. Any car that has been on the lot that long should be taken for a long (7 miles plus) test drive. Check the paint and tires carefully too. Secondly, on April 1st the base price of Infinitis was raised by 1.5% and the marketing assesment fee was abolished. Lastly, there was a price increase on May 14th of $200 for the G35 sedan and $250 for the G35 coupe.

    Wibble,

Thank you for your reply. Do I understand you correctly then, that the base price of Edmunds really IS correct? ($29,526)?

If so, is the following a good deal:
    2004 AWD G35x $29,526.00
    Premium Package 2757.00
    Trunk Mat 48.00
    Splash Guards 98.00

    Less Discount: ($250.00)
    Plus Delivery Fee: $590.00
    Total Before Tax: $32,769.00
Additional charges: $132.50 Title &Tag and sales tax fees.

Also, is this still a good deal if I am doing financing through Infiniti or could I pay a bit less (maybe get free oil changes)?

Lastly, should I expect to encounter any fees associated with financing (bank fees, etc)? I have very good credit rating.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

PS. Ohh..alsmost forgot..I do have conflicting info with Edmunds on holdback (don’t get me wrong, I do NOT want the salesperson to give that up to me). My info is that Infiniti has 2% off MSRP holdback, while Edmunds states 1% off MSRP + 2% off base on the Invoice. Which IS correct??? Thanks again!

Got a G35x, leather, sunroof, _no_ premium package at invoice. Probably coulda pushed him a little harder if my life depended on it, but even if I left a little money on the table there, I don't think it was a lot. There was more wiggle room in the trade-in.

Btw, a Q for the dealers/salesmen here? How does the dealer interally allocate the tradein v. new car discount? I assume it wouldn't necessarily be the same as the purchase order.
