Just bought G35x in N/NW Suburbs of Chicago for $32,769 + $53.50 doc fee + Tax/Title/License. Included Premium Package, Splash Guards, Trunk Mat.

Any thoughts on getting The Treatement Teflon Coating (interior + exterior) for $695 or front clear bra for $495? I have until Monday to decide.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
Personally I wouldn't bother with the coating. You can do just as good a job yourself with leather protector and wax for $20.
The clear bra is worth considering if you live in area where you get lots of stone chips on the front of your cars. $495 is a fair price.

Sammy2, what dealership in NJ did you deal with? I didn't realize there were any dealers offering 1.9% for 36 mos. Thanks.
  • sammy2sammy2 Member Posts: 7
    Ramsey Infiniti in Ramsey, NJ.

I bought the vehicle on Sept 6th, 2004. I am not sure that deal still exists. At that time, Infiniti sponsored special for finance was going on.

Finally got my G35X yesterday from a dealer in the Boston are for 30.8 w/premium. I thought this is a very good deal. Anyone interested should check out the add in the Boston Globe.

You can name dealerships here, not just individual salesman. I would guess this was at Quirk.
  • kudy843kudy843 Member Posts: 26
Thanks for letting me know. :-) I didn't know the rule or want to get kick out for breaking it. Yes, it was at Quirk Infiniti in Braintree, MA.

Hi everyone...I'm about 1-2 weeks away from purchasing an '04 G35 Auto-Sedan w/Leather and I'm most uncertain about what price I should be paying.

Some websites show a $1000 marketing rebate to dealer and other websites make no mention of it...I'm just wondering if it is true and if it would extend past Sept 30th into the first week of October?
If I factor in the $1000 rebate but don't factor in dealer holdback, then I'm looking at:

         Invoice: $27,876
         Dest Fee: $590
         Mrktg Rebate: <$1000>
            ------------------
             $27,466 plus TTL

Would that be reasonable price here in south Florida (especially since the 05's are getting ready for release)?

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Ailmar.

What is the story with the car's tire air pressure? The tire side wall states 55lbs of air max while the sticker inside the car states 35lbs all around. Why the difference and which is correct???? Confused! Also, how often does conventional wisdom say that the air conditioning air filter located in the glove box should be changed or is it ok to get it cleaned or blown out? Comments appreciated.

I'm wondering if there is any way to get the sports suspension package after I already pick up the car? I didn't realize this at the time. I thought that I had to get the 6 speed in order to get the sport package.

Anyone here has any experience between the g35x with and without the sports package? am I missing out much for not having this?
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
You can't get the G35x with the sports suspension, only the 2WD models. Have you driven a car with the psports tuned supension? Most people can't feel a difference.
  • kudy843kudy843 Member Posts: 26
    Thanks for your reply.
I have not driven one with the sports suspension. I have driven my friend's 330i and throught it was alot better than my g35x around the corners (not just a little). I wasn't flying through the corner or anything and I thought I saw an obvious difference. or maybe i just need more time to learn about the G.
Well atleast now I know that the sports suspension is not offerred on the x and I don't have to hate myself for not having done enough homework. Given between the x and the rwd, I guess I'm more happy with the x because of the added safety for my family.

Anybody wanna comment on buying an 04 G35X vs an 05 -later this year. The 05 sounds like it has significant upgrades - power, features, interior, looks that probably make it worth the wait and probable additional expense.

I have a standing offer in VA for ~32K for a 04 G35X /premium. I don't really see the 04 deals getting worse until inventory dries up.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
The real variable here is the '05 pricing and when the things are actually going to show up. If you're happy to wait a month or so and pay the extra then it looks like the '05 car is going to be well worth it. Deals on the 2004 are probably not going to get much better, although I'm sure there will be a Garnet Fire dloating around somewhere in December at $5000 off!
Personally, I gave up waiting over the weekend and picked up a 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Limited sedan.

Hey Wibble, thanks for the quick reply. I am curious how you find the Subi. I have yet to test drive one and the price is good but C&D just ranked one 3rd out of 4 sub 30K sedans.

On another note, any suggestions for best price (VPP or otherwise) on the 05 G35x ?

    regards,..
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
Don't want to get too far off topic but I really like it. Fast, quiet and comfortable. Motor Trend ranked it first in their comparison and guess what? Both magazines are under the same ownership!
It's hard to tell where 2005 pricing is going to settle. A lot will depend on how the upgrades are received. I know last year, a month after release you could get an '04 for $500 over invoice.

    Skeeter,

I'm looking at picking up an '04 G35X myself. I'm in the MD suburbs of Washington, and was wondering if the dealer with the standing offer is located in Northern VA. If so, would you be willing to share the name of that dealer?

    Thanks
  • kudy843kudy843 Member Posts: 26
oidvoid: I don't know if you're willing to travel or not...but I just picked up my G35X last Saturday for $30.799 (w/premium). This is at Quirk Infiniti in Braintree, MA. I think you can still get this deal as I still see it on the paper add and there were about 20 of them on the lot as of last weekend.
  • kudy843kudy843 Member Posts: 26
my G35x also did come with floor mat, splash guard and a full size spare.
  • skeeterskeeter Member Posts: 3
The dealer was Rosenthal in Tysons. I got the quote through the Internet. They have an Internet sales manager. I would guess that you can do better by just offering less money since this was basically the no negotiation price and they are always willing to negotiate.
  • oidvoidoidvoid Member Posts: 25
kudy843 - I believe I saw an earlier post of yours concerning this. It was someone from Boston, I know that. Anyway, that's a smokin' deal you got - best one I've seen. I'm going to check the local dealers, but I'll definitely consider driving up to Beantown if I can't get close to your deal. Thanks for the info.

Thanks skeeter. I tried to get a quote from Jim Coleman Infiniti through their web site, but never heard from them. I'll try Rosenthal now.

FYI..just signed on a 42 month lease 15K miles/year for a 2004 G35X, premium package, wood trim, trunk mat and splash guards for $369/month. Only put down first month, security and $299 dealer admin fee. Infiniti financial acquistion fee of $550 was included in the monthly payment.

Wasn't happy with the admin fee, but you have to look at the big picture. Other dealers weren't even coming close. Negotiated trade in after closing the lease and they gave me $1000 more than what the BMW dealer was willing to pay on a straight purchase of my used car.

For those in the market, I would strongly suggest Quirk in Boston. As noted they had the best price and made everything very easy. Don't call, send an e-mail and you will deal directly with the GM. No BS guy. Even quoted me a price on my trade-in over the phone and honored it after I got there and he did a walk around inspection of the car. Best experience I have had buying a car.
  • osufans2osufans2 Member Posts: 14
$30,799? That's a great deal! How does this work? The invoice of the car is $32,873. There is a $500 "marketing support" and about 3% of dealer hold back. Therefore, for the dealer to make a profit, they must sell the car for about $31,373. Are the dealer selling at a loss then? This doesn't make sense...
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
There are often hidden "incentives" for dealers on certain cars. I remember last year there was one where for every 2 2003 cars sold we got an extra 2004 G35 Coupe. Seeing as Coupes always sold at MSRP it made sense to lose money on older cars. There are also all sorts of volume targets and bonus'. If you walk in at the right time when the dealer is on 99 for the month or the like, you'd be amazed at the sort of deal you could get.
  • kudy843kudy843 Member Posts: 26
osufan2: I'm not sure how it works but it is true. I picked up my g35x last Saturday. You can still find the add on their website. Please let me know if it's ok to post their web address here and I will do so.
They did charge me a $200 doc fee.

I looking into buying a G35 sedan w/ premium package in the DFW area sometime this month. Since the dealers are trying to clear out the 2004 models, how much below invoice should I bid?
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
    Try $1000 under at Grubbs.
  • nkanenkane Member Posts: 3
Just bought a G35x on Sept 25 from Inskip in RI. Had test drove there and asked if they would match the price of Herb Chamber's ad in the Boston Globe. Price in the Globe was $26,880 delivered. Added a sunroof, splash guards, trunk mat -- out the door for $27,880 w/o tax. Desert platinum / beige leather. They delivered the car to me 47 miles away, no hassles, reasonable paper fees ($100), full tank of gas. Test drove 6 other vehicles. No, its not perfect or the best in everything - just the best choice. I got the Goodyear tires - only real choice.

Is it possible to get a 04 g35coup/6mt/leather with aero package otd for around 30k or may be 31k ? and im in ny area.
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
Prices are probably not going to be as attractive on 6MT Coupes. The things are always in short supply and the 2005 versions probably won't be here until December. In your part of the world, both Edmunds TMV and Carsdirect show the 6MT Coupe selling at MSRP.

I was wondering what I could expect to pay for a 2004 coupe/auto tire/prem pkg in northern Cal. I am near Niello Concord BMW but would prefer to buy at my local Sac area dealer if can get a similar deal. So far I have only seen ads for sticks at 33877 most recently. Just recently at my local dealer there is a 2004 coupe/red/prem/tires and clear bra returned within their 200miles/ 3 day money back guarantee. Technically it is used,,only 84 miles, what could one expect to pay for this type of car. I am still debating on waiting for the 05's .

Just another thought,,I also really like the 540's, possibly a 2001 , but Infiniti's styling and cost to own are swaying me towards them.
  • george7777george7777 Member Posts: 46
I once had a Porsche, and had a couple of Volkswagens. My last two cars have been BMWs, a 535 and a 540. Considering my past experience on reliability and the PITA factor, my first criterion for my next car is that it will NOT be made in Germany.

Speaking of pricing, there was a site posted here that said it would be where the '05 prices would appear when available. There was another post that said the rumor was the '05 prices would be available 9/21. They're not on that site yet. Does anyone know about the prices? I'll need to know the prices to help me decide on whether to strike on a year end '04 or to wait.

    When the official pricing is released it will be posted here;

Have a look in the 2005 G35 thread for some unofficial pricing news.

Quirk Infiniti in MA advertised 6MT coupe with premium this past weekend for less than $29,000. Yes, that's not a typo. Over $7k off - 2 of them. Probably gone by now (ad valid through Oct 3)...

I was happy to get mine at invoice just two months ago! I got exactly the color and features I wanted... But for $7k off, yeah, I would have compromised on the color and waited... But, alas, hindsight is always smarter... ;-)

I bought other cars from Quirk before and their advertised prices are for the most part real (unless inventory "runs out"). Wow, never realized it would go that low... Ouch!!!

A midwestern newspaper would like to talk with someone who, in the past month, bought a luxury vehicle (other than a Lexus) for which minimal incentives were available. Anyone have an opinion on what kind of price I can get on a 2004 coupe? Invoice or around there? I live in the Chicago area.

    Thanks
  • gccambridgegccambridge Member Posts: 24
This is rather outrageous... And chances are the units are sold or it may have been just a ruse to get people in to put deposits for the 2005 (2 mos ago, this dealer had 11 coupes, and it was the last batch for the year)...

But something like this could be worth the flight and a drive if true! Check out the ad (not sure if I'm allowed to do this... but its just an ad)...

What ad? What dealership and where?

    Thanks
  • sevenawaysevenaway Member Posts: 31
I have seen on a couple web sites that their is a 2.9% rate for 60 months on 2004 G35 coupes. I haven't seen this on the Infiniti or any dealer site. Can anyone confirm?

    Thanks
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
The ad he posted the link to! Quirk Infiniti in MA (somewhere near Boston I think).
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
I haven't seen anything relating to this. When the 1.9/2.9% promotion was on, it didn't apply to Coupes. I'd be surprised if it came back for Coupes only. Then again, I could be wrong!
  • sevenawaysevenaway Member Posts: 31
My apologies, for some reason my computer didn't show the link.

    Thanks for the info.
  • gccambridgegccambridge Member Posts: 24
Note on the ad link I posted. I got my coupe at invoice 2 mos ago and was bumming to see an ad for the coupe at $7500 off!! It intrigued me so I called Quirk (dealer with the Ad) - its was for a certified used one!! Indeed, I feel better... If you notice in the ad, all the other cars say "New" except the coupe... The deal on the G35X is legit though - over $5,000 off! And they still have a couple of them left...

Quirk is just south of Boston, about 20 mins... Another volume dealer is Kelly, 20 min north of Boston (I like the service there better)...

I bought my G35x at a dealer that is 1 hr away from where I live and I don't want to drive that far for services. Can I go to another Infiniti dealer that is closer to me? Would they have any problem with that? Also, if I ever run into any issue with my car, do I have to bring it back to the original dealer? Thanks for your help in advance?
  • wibblewibble Member Posts: 569
You can take it to any Infiniti dealer you like. There should be no problem with your local dealer and they should treat you the same as someone who bought the car from them. Same goes for warrenty work.
  • mrdlexusmrdlexus Member Posts: 23
I was wondering what people are paying in the Massachusetts area for a G35x. Please let me know the price paid and msrp so I can see the options that came with the car. Last but not least how do you like the car? Thanks in advance!!!!
