I got my G35x at Quirk's Infiniti for $30,799 which comes with the premium package.

A couple of weeks ago, Passport Infiniti in DC was running an advertisement that said they'd beat any price on a new Infiniti, or they'd give you $5000. I was aware of the great deals offered at Quirk Infiniti in MA, and I decided I'd call Passport and tell them what the deal was at Quirk for a G35X with premium package. I asked the dealer what the "fine print" was on the advertisement and he said there was no fine print. So I emailed him the online ad from Quirk. The salesman from Passport called me, and said even though Quirk's deal had expired, they would match it. I was pleasantly surprised.

The dealer told me I had get the car within 2 days, but he said that I could take care of the finances via fax, and then pick up the car after that. I said that was fine. He asked if I needed financing, and I told him I had 3.65% through an online source. He said he would try to beat that, and either way, he'd fax me the contractual items.

20 min. later I get a call from the General Manager at Passport. The guy says that he's not sure what Quirk's deal is, but he couldn't meet the $30,599, but instead would sell me one for $31,800. I inquired why they couldn't meet Quirk's deal, and they said that they had to be able to buy the car and Quirk's deal had expired, and also, it had to be from an Infiniti dealer within a 25 mile radius. Isn't that "fine print"? Also, there is only 1 Infiniti dealer within a 25 mile radius of Passport. What a great deal!

I sent an email to the General Manager, documenting what the salesman had said about there being no fine print and about them being able to match the deal even though Quirk's ad had expired. I also made mention to the fact that their ad stated that they would meet any deal, or pay $5000. The General Manager assured me that he was treating me fairly and that he was a straight shooter. He then offered me a 2004 G35X with Bose and Sunroof (no premium package), for $30,599. Wow, thanks for nothing. I'm not sure how that resolved anything.

During my search, I had some poor experiences with Nationwide Infiniti in MD, as well as Infiniti of Willow Grove in PA, but this experience with Passport was the worst. Basically, all these experiences drove me away from purchasing an Infiniti. It's a shame because I think they are great cars, and I'm sure I would have enjoyed owning one.

I'm in the market for a 2004 G35 Coupe here in the US. It looks like the 2005's are about to come in. I'm already seeing about $2500 off of MSRP. Wondering if I should grab it now, or wait - the automatics are supposed to be coming in October according to the Infiniti media web site.

It does appear that there is a lot of inventory in my area, but many of the dealers are holding the line on prices. I wonder if anyone here has any insight or recommentation. For example, will Inifiniti offer dealer incentives for remaining 2004 coupes, or are they selling so well that they will move out at or near list by the time the 2005's come.

Coupes are extremely strong sellers. There are parts of the country were you still get anything off a 2004. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for dealer incentives on a Coupe.

We're in the market for a G35 coupe for our son, age 20. Anyone have experience in San Diego area? What is current APR and discounts from MSRP?

Don't limit youself to San Diego. A trip up the 15 to some of the dealers in OC and surrounds could be worth the trip. Discounts seem to vary on how much each dealer has in stock. There are no special finance rates from Infinit on the Coupe. You should be able to get 3.5 to 4% at the dealer with good credit but I would try you local credit union first and then give the dealer the chance to beat that.

The coupe you are looking at is called an unwind. As far as the factory is concerned, the vehicle is still new. The DMV is another issue, the dealer has sent the report of sale in to the DMV, so it must be reported the next time as a used vehicle. Infiniti of Elk Grove has a 3 day or 200 mile return policy, no questions asked. If the vehicle only has 84 miles on it, I would say that it is just about as new as you can get. Demonstrators are sold as new vehicles, even though these vehicles will have a few thousand miles on them.

Ok, I just bought a G35 - ivory w/performance tires wheels, premium package. Mind you I just sold my 2000 Chevy Corvette 2 weeks earlier. This is my replacement car for the vette. After calling serveral dealers and checking inventory. I found the exact car @ 3 dealers within 50 miles. I bought the car for 500 over invoice. I think I got a decent deal ?? Most internet mgrs baulked when I told them I would pay only invoice for the car. Bascially they told me the cars were hot sellers and therefore did not need discounting. LOVE the car, just tinted the windows and installed auto start (live in NJ) - its my weekend car and I only plan on driving it about 6k per year. Was considering waiting for the 05's but I had the itch to replace the vette quickly or I might just assume keep the money and forget about a second car.

Good luck to all, I am sure you can get a better deal in mid Nov, but then again you may not get the EXACT car you want. for the 500 or 1000 I wanted to get my car like I wanted it, not a left over.

I am looking at the G35x and went to 3 different dealerships in my area. The last one I went to we got into pricing with the salesman. I want the G35x w/premium package, wood package, etc. Basically everything but the Nav. His first price was $35,000. I told him I was thinking more like $32K and he came back at $31.3K.

MSRP is $37K, so that looks like a good price, right?

I have started looking at the G35 Coupe. They seem like a great care from the reviews I have read. Has anyone just bought one? What did u pay? I live in the Silicon Valley. Basically I am looking for one loaded (automatic) without the Nav.

I have a G35x NOT a coupe and after almost a month of ownership, this is how I feel about it.

First of all, I think that a coupe will handle better than a sedan but since I have not driven it I can only say how I feel about the sedan. I'm not satisfied with it. When I went for the 3 different test drives, it was all within city streets and everything seems not so bad at all... somewhat comparable to a 330i (which many of my friends have). After having it for about a month I feel...

Actually, before I list its negatives, I should describe my driving a little bit. I do not consider myself as a aggresive driver, although I do push the car at times. I guess you can say I'm an average driver who likes to drive but has never tracked or has any racing experience.
1. It has too much body roll in corners. I don't expect it to match the handling the bmw 330 has to offer, but at least it should come close. I do not think its even close.
2. I do not like the way the car is built. By that I mean... when I close the door to the car, it doesn't gives me that safe feeling as a bmw. It feels light and fragile. On the other hand, I don't have any problem with the feel of the material.
3. It's taking up too much gas. I know there's a penalty for performance...but.. a month ago my maxima (also a V6) only cost $28-$30 a week but now this thing is costing $40-$45 a week. I mean this is not a V8 or V10.

4. There is too much wind/tire noise at highway speed. I understant that this is no Lexus and that's not what I'm looking for...but the noise level is somewhat unacceptable.

If I can do this over again, I would probaly get a 2003 bmw 330xi. I got this car in hope that I can get close-to-330 handling with better price and warranty, but I'm somewhat regretting it now.

On the PLUS side, the power is great! Very strong engine...nothing to complain about the interior material for me neither.

that's just my 2 cents after the first month.

I have never owned a BMW, so I will pass on those remarks. I do own a 2000 Maxima, and a 2003 G35 sedan (not AWD of course). I've tracked the mileage of both cars since I owned them (over 50K and 30K respectively), and I get 2 mpg less in the G35, 21.5 vs. 19.5. However, my Maxima is only a 3.0 liter engine compared to the 3.5 in the G, so I expected a difference. In both cars, my mileage increased about 2 mpg after a year or so. If I drove both cars 200 miles per week, on average the G would use 1.5 gallons more, about $3-4 depending on the price in your area. If you have a 2002 or later Maxima, it's the same engine as the G, so I would be really confused about the mileage, although I know they might not be exactly the same. Having the AWD of the G35x, I would guess your mileage would be 1-2 mpg less than mine, perhaps another $2-4 per week, still under $10 total though.

My G35x has just over 1300 miles at this time. I'm hoping I'll get close to your mpg when it's broken in a little bit more. I don't know what the actual mpg is for the G35x because I've not done any calculation and also I don't have the nav which tells me that info. The car I traded it was a 2001 maxima. Gas prices around here is about $2.05 - $2.10/gallon for the 93 grade. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this problem.

Also, do you have the sports package on your G35? if not, do you find it to have too much body roll around the corner? Another thing I notice (compared to my friends bmws), the G35 steering is too light on the highway. I also have a 2000 Jetta and I don't think the G35 is any better in steering feel on the highway. I wish the steering could be made with a little more weigh.

I don't have the sports package. The steering is OK with me, much better than the Maxima but as I said I don't have a bimmer so I can't compare. Since you have an 01 Max, it also has the smaller 3.0 liter engine, so you will see a few mpg difference in the cars. I definitely did get better mileage after a while, but it will start to go down a bit soon as we get that crappy winter gas in DC. I can definitely get mileage around 16 or so for all city driving in the winter, then up to 24 or 25 for an all highway ride at 75mph or so. Most times I get around 18 mpg.

Interesting, by the looks of it the quote you received is below invoice. The invoice for G35x with premium is 32873, so ~32K, I am guessing is lower.

I just requested a quote from Rosenthall Infiniti at Tysons, VA for a G35, 6MT, Leather, Premium and I got a quote for 31.7K which is about $700 above invoice. I was really hoping I could get a quote at or slightly below invoice considering the 05 model is about to come. And he wanted the full 2K for navigation. A good deal, but hey!!! if I can get it cheaper then why not :-)

Anyone think this is worth talking to the dealer?

I'm interested in leasing an Infiniti G35 Sedan. Our local dealer has about 25 2004 models remaining. Any idea if Infiniti is going to have any lease specials in November to move these cars. I'm not sure how the inventory is at other dealers - but our local dealer has a lot of 2004 models left.

At the Glendale Infiniti dealership, I was offered the following from the stock they currently had:

G35 Sedan: $700 under invoice, pick my options
G35 Coupe: $1000 over invoice, pick my options

I actually pulled out an Edmunds.com print out with MSRP, Invoice and TMV numbers, and the dealer was willing to confirm and recognize the invoice price on the vehicle and options. They had a large selection of Sedans with options, and a good selection of Coupes.

I really liked the honesty at Glendale and their willingness to show me their numbers. Although I like the interior of the Acura TL better, I probably will go with the Infiniti.

Saw the only dealer here in town today and was offered a G35x, with premium & full size spare, splash guards and trunk mat. MSRP is $36,070. They are offering it for $33,378. They have approximately 25 G35's to sell with half being X's.

Is this good? TMV is $33,715 in our area. Invoice per Edmunds is $33019.

Sound reasonable? The closest Infiniti dealer is 90 miles away.

$3119($2000 down,1st mnth $269, 300 sec, 550 bank) + tags, title due at signing
Residual $19305.90

I know nothing about leasing, I put the #s into lendingtree.com's buy vs lease calculator and came up about even but I did not know how to figure out the interest rate (money factor) based on the above #s I usually keep my cars for a long time but the $269 is enticing for a G35x with winter coming up.

What else should I be prepared to add to the $269/month ? tax ? 6 %. How much more should I pay if I want 12K / year

Quick word of advice on leasing. Don't put any money down other than bank fee, security deposit and tax/tags, etc. If the car is stolen or totalled during the lease, you would loose the $2000. A down payment like this does nothing to reduce what you owe at the end of the lease.
What is the period of this lease? The residual is 57% so it looks around 42 months. The figures look in line with the standard Infiniti lease at the moment.
Pop over to the leasing forum. The host there is very good and has all the figures to hand.

Ideally I'd like $500-800 over Invoice.

As far as what I see on the Fresh Alloy site, a number of members are already getting quotes of around 800 over invoice. With this type of incentive, why would anyone buy an 04 which is already a year older?

They are not listed yet on Kelly Blue Book or Edmunds sites.

As I have seen postings relating to $800 to $1,000 over invoice, there must be invoice pricing posted somewhere.

I think you can much better. Quirk in MA is advertsing G35X w/ premium @ 31,099. Another gentleman a few posts back bought one on Long Island for $31,500, included wood package and XM Radio. Good luck

I offered $31,000 for a 2004 Coupe AT with premium package but no NAV. Dealer wanted $32.2 as his last offer. I took a hike.

Am I being unrealistic? It seems to me with lots of inventory of 2004's sitting on the lot at the end of October, this is a fair price for last year's car. Anybody in the DC/Baltimore area have any suggestions? Looks like some people are doing a lot better in other East Coast states.

I haven't seen any invoice prices posted anywhere, but the MSRPs are available. It's a good guess that the invoice and MSRP are in the same relationship as last year. The coupe numbers may be different, but the sedan invoice was 90.6% of base. Invoice for premium options such as the premium packages, Bose, sunroof, etc., were all 86.2% of MSRP. Nav was 90.3%. Other options had a higher markup, with the aero packages at 81% and chrome wheels at 71.1%

You could probably apply the same percentages to the 2005 MSRPs to get very close to actual '05 invoice. You should check the coupe percentages for '04 because they may be different from the sedan. Also, remember the $590 transportation charge, which is unchanged for the sedan for '05.

Infiniti Of West Chester, PA has posted on their website (www.infinitiofwestchester.com) $4000 below dealer invoice on all Infiniti's in stock. According to their web site they have approximately 70 G35 Sedans in stock.

Woah, did I miss something? My wife just put a deposit down on a G35x w/ premium w/ full spare
for 31,300 verses an Edmonds invoice price of 33,000. No other dealers would match that price. Even end of month. Picking up car tonite. Open to suggestions, thanks.

update: Checked out the Coupon for Westchester pa infiniti, it says in script font, "up to" $4000.00 off any new infinity; the neat trick is, try to print it, the "up to" part is cut off. I guess you get there and show you the full add. But man, do they have inventory.

I wouldn't put too much stock in the web site ad. It says "Up to" $4,000 below "Dealer Cost." I am not sure if "dealer cost" has a strict definition like "invoice price" so they may be able to define that in their own manner, adding inflated advertising or overhead costs. More importantly, the "Up to" could render the whole ad relatively meaningless.

I wanted you guys to comment on this deal:
$453/month for 54 months with 1000 miles/month.
This car has the following packages:
performance (18"wheels with slip differential)
preferred package (bose + heated leather)

I had to pay my 1st month + tittle/license + 350 security deposit. Total ($999)

What do you guys think?
They will also mail me a check for $976 for my Jeep that is going to be turned in this Jan 05.They did not want to buy the jeep bus said that they would take care of the Jeep's 3 payments + the turning in fee for me. (I think the Jeeps payments are rolled into my monthly payments.

Not sure if this was a good deal or not. The sticker was $34,100 so I think its a good deal for this area-- Bay Area, 650 area code, near San Francisco
