Well, the dealership has 17 GS35s right now. And I would buy about 12 of them as they have the colors and options that I like. Granted that some of them are RWD instead of AWD...but that isn't too big of a deal for me. I think I'm going to wait...watch the inventory like a hawk...and then pounce on it if the deal is right. I've alredy received an email from the internet sales manager asking me if I have made a decision. I told him that I thought that the price was still too high and that I was going to look around at other vehicles. I haven't heard back from him...but I just sent him that email late last night...so it's still fairly early in the morning. Will keep you posted.

It seems that '07 MSRP pricing is now out and it is pretty much the same as '06. It will be interesting to see how long MSRP lasts in the marketplace. ;)

Personally, I cannot believe that '07 engine now puts out (less) only 268 ft-lbs of torque. That is appalling :lemon:

That's because they had to come up with at least 306HP to match the IS350. There's only so much tq you can get from a certain dispalcement without FI.

I'm in Chicago and have contacted quite a few dealers in the midwest......only one quoted below MSRP by $500.
Everyone else is selling @ MSRP...it's a hot car and they will not be discounting it for awhile

Wanted to share a bad experience that I had with a dealer in Long Island, NY. I spoke to the "Internet Director" over a couple of days via email & phone and finally arrived to a price of 31,300 exc. tax & pleates for a G35x, premium pkg and wood trim. Once I got there they did not hold up to their end. They wanted to give it to me for over $32,000 (can't even remember the exact figure). I was so upset  ! They said the salesman had no right quoting me a price like that.

Obviously I didn't buy the car.

Has anyone ever experience anything like this? If so, how did you handle it?

    Thanks!

My guy said they are only doing MSRP and if that is an issue with me than too bad. So I decided that I am going to purchase a Lincoln MKZ or MKX instead.
  • abraindrainerabraindrainer Member Posts: 312
Yes, the 306 is the magic number and of course IS350 only puts out 277 ft-lbs too. The only reason the '07 G35 is close in 0-60 speed is because we have only seen the test for a stick. I bet, auto will be right at 6+ seconds because it is only a 5 speed whereas the IS is a 6 speed.

BTW: BMW M3 puts out 333 HP from similar displacement.

I always laugh when folks really focus on HP because given US speed limits torque is much more important...

I'd like to lease a 2007 AWD 4door G35. I live in Maryland. Here's the deal from Tysons Infiniti in VA with the options I want:

    Base: 33,950
    Cargo net: 50
    NAV: 2,100
    Premium Pac: 2,150
    Slash guards: 140
    Tech Pac: 1,100
    Wood: 450
    Frieght: 700

    Total $40,640

    Lease length - 39 months
    Residual % - 57%
    Money Factor: .00255

    Driveoff- $697.47

Seems like a bad deal. What is a good monthly payment for this car? Can anyone recommend a way to a better deal? Should I wait until Jan 2007?
  • big_hambig_ham Member Posts: 6
That money factor (.00255) translates to 6.12% APR which really isn't all that hot. Not sure what the current base money factors are for the '07 sedans, but I would imagine you could do better than that, depending on your credit.

Also, you could try to negotiate a discount off MSRP which would obviously have an impact on your monthly payment.
  • big_hambig_ham Member Posts: 6
Performance differences between the '06 and '07 models should be negligible. A dyno of the two cars would likely be almost identical.

And let's not forget ... 260ft/lbs of torque is nothing to snub your nose at. The VQ35 engine that's in the 350z/G35/M35/FX35, etc has a great torque range too, giving you lots of low-mid power ...
  • big_hambig_ham Member Posts: 6
New design is the '08 model. '07 model, I've been told, will only have a 6 month production run with the '08 arriving in spring '07. Jump on the '06's and skip the '07 for now. Once the spring comes around, you should be able to get an '07 coupe as cheap or cheaper than you can get an '06 coupe right now.

Not sure about the timeline for the '08 for sure, but I can tell you the prototype of the '08 that's shown online is a very nice design and worth waiting for if you were considering an '07.

I have A+ credit. How low do you think that the money factor go?

Do you know what the invoice is for a car with these options? How can I find that? How much over invoice should I pay?
  • poorprofpoorprof Member Posts: 124
Miller Infiniti (Los Angeles) has a partnership with Costco and they offer the new G35 below MSRP. I can't put te guy's name down, but you can find it on your own.
  • smokey75smokey75 Member Posts: 434
Can't remember which magazine it was but one of the reviews said Infiniti claimed very close times from the automatic & they expected it to be within .2 seconds of the stick.

I agree with you completely about HP/torque. I always think it's funny when a manufacturer retunes an engine to raise HP but the torque is lowered. I guess HP is more marketable.

After reading what everyone was paying for there G35x 06's I was excited to see the salesman my neighbor bought his from some two months ago. I had a trade which Kelley put at $18,000 and retail at $24,500. The G35x I wanted had a price of $37,949. They gave me a $3,222 discount that they called a referal discount. They then gave me $15,000 for my trade. Leaving me with a balance of $19,727. When the salesman and I left the sales managers office he told me the price on the car was all they could do but he was sure they could do better on my trade. REALLY. I had the Kelley numbers with me but with that price they gave me I didn't see any reason to pursue any negotiations. Am sure my salesman will call next week and would appreciate any advice from this forum as to what my response should be as far as the price goes. Am thinking of telling him I will give $12,000 with my trade and see what happens from there.
I really liked the car and was a joy to drive. But not for the price they were asking. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Why does it seem like a bad deal?
  • wa40wa40 Member Posts: 11
What I forgot to say was they were asking full price for the 06 G35x when all was said and done.

What is the best price for the G35S 2007 with Nav, Premium Package and Technology Package. Have a 2004 TL with 28,000 miles to be used as trade in. Also any ideas on Carmax for trade in of Acura TL :)
  • murrowmurrow Member Posts: 72
seems like a lot of money up front for a 12-month lease.
  • murrowmurrow Member Posts: 72
I brought my '05 G35 Coupe to Carmax a couple of months ago for an appraisal, since I was considering getting an '06 G. They offered me $23,000 while one Infiniti dealer offered me $25,500 and another Infiniti dealer offered me $26,000

Just bought my Serengeti Sand 2006 4dr AWD with sunroof , splashguard, and mats for 29,899. Does this seem like a good deal to most of you? Also, how many of you use reg vs. premium gas? My dealer said that he uses regular and has not had a problem but he did say performance may not be optimum with regular gas?

there offering a brand new g35 4 door sedan (2006 base model) for 27,000 now to me it still sounds steep ..i was looking more around 25,000 to 26,000 ..any feed back would be great
  • smokey75smokey75 Member Posts: 434
Just found the road test I referred to of the 2007 sedan. From the October 2006 issue of Motor Trend: "Gear ratios in the automatic are also shortened by 8.5 percent in first gear and by around four percent in second and third to further improve acceleration. Performance of the automatic is now expected to fall within a tenth or two of the manual's times." Their test of the manual achieved a 5.4 second 0-60 & a 14 second quarter mile at 100.4 mph.

    Car_Man,

Can you post Infiniti's November 2006 Residuals & Money Factors for the 2007 G35 for the following models/terms:

    G35x - 36mo, 15k/year
    G35 Journey - 36 mo, 15k/year

I assume that the vehicle is going to be at MSRP for a few more months and there will be no lease support on the vehicle, but wanted to get a "worst case" scenario for leasing this model in the next 1-2 months. Thanks.

Hi guys - this is my first post but I have been on this site for 2 months now. I am interested in a G35 coupe 2006 with AT, Premium package, NAV, performance tires, and splash guards. The MSRP is around 39,500 and the TMV as per edmunds.com is 37,500. I have a trade in nissan. If any one can tell me what is good deal for such a car at this time and do you think I can go below TMV? I live in IN. Thanks
  • dynamosdynamos Member Posts: 7
I purchased an 07 Journey today with Premium package and Performance wheel and tire package. I was able to get it for $500 below MSRP. Had been quoted at another dealer $500 over sticker. Because it is so new and in somewhat limited supply, the dealers are holding the line pretty close to sticker price. It is an awesome car. The interior is a huge improvement over previous years.

Where did you receive the information that the 2008 G-35 is coming out in Spring of 2007...a little hard to believe
Where did you see the prototype?
    :D
  • saissonsaisson Member Posts: 25
There are only 4 Infiniti dealers in the area and they are all quoting MSRP. Has anyone out there purchased a 2007 under MSRP in IL?

  • sparkysg35sparkysg35 Member Posts: 4
Check with Costco / Infiniti dealers. You can get 1700 to 2000 off the price. :)
  • saissonsaisson Member Posts: 25
There are no arrangements with Costco and Infiniti in the Midwest....
  • treacheroustreacherous Member Posts: 22
Costco is setup with Infiniti in Northwest but M35/M45 are only cars available in program for '07 so far.

When I asked about G35 I was told the following:

" Information appearing on our Web site is obtained from independent, third-party sources and is usually updated on a weekly basis. We receive and publish that information as it becomes available from the source and have no input into the scheduling or release of that information. We have not been provided with 2007 model year data for the Infiniti G35. "
  • gungadin25gungadin25 Member Posts: 1
I just spoke to a dealer in the SF Bay Area about Costco pricing for the G35 and he confirmed that it was under MSRP. He said he wasn't allowed to tell me the price over the phone and that I had to stop by to see the pricing sheet.

I think the best way to proceed is to fill out the contact form on the Costco website and talk to the dealer directly. Unless he was lying, Costco has already negotiated prices with the dealers for the 2007 G35.

I test drove a , 328i and G35 AWD last nite. Loved the G35 AWD!! However, I am looking to get a sport version but the dealer (Ray Catina) told me there's none available and will have to be factory ordered. The lead time is 4 months. The order can be placed not before 1st week of Dec. So that makes it April 2007. Any idea if someone had similar experience. They did check with other dealers in the region. None available.

I want a Sport package, Premium, Navigation, Black Obsidian. What's the best price currently running. I was able to get $1000 off MSRP for AWD, but MSRP for Sport.

I am new to this board and am also a novice car shopper. I am looking to buy a 2006 G35 sedan or coupe but not sure what would be considered a good price. I have gone a dealership and they said nobidy is selling below MSRP. I have check the four Infiniti dealers here in Houston and they all have like 25 sedans and 30 coupes in stock.

How do you guys think that I should approach dealers to get a good price. I am looking to get invoice price on my new car. Should I only contact delaers online as I hear that more people get better deals this way. Thanks for the help.
  • saissonsaisson Member Posts: 25
You're not going to get a G-35 at invoice. The car is too new. Suggest you use Cars.com to obtain your quotes.
  • jtlajtla Member Posts: 388
Not sure if you are talking about 2006 or 2007 models of G35. You will have to pay close to MSRP for 2007 sedan right now, and you won't see 25~30 in stock. On the other hand, you should be able to get around $6,000 off MSRP for a 2006 G35 sedan. If you are a novice shopper, I would suggest you try carsdirect.com or Costco where you can get reasonable price with no haggle. Good luck.

What was the discount through costco for the 2007 G35?

Dealer in TX was not very generous(a few hundered bucks).
  • treacheroustreacherous Member Posts: 22
As an example...unless Autotrader inventory is now incorrect there are 135 '06 G35 coupes/sedans at Infiniti of Kirkland. As of about a month ago this seemed correct since the cars were double parked and everywhere on the lot. Cars didn't seem to be moving.
  • gmoralesgmorales Member Posts: 8
Thanks for the info, and I am looking for a new 2006, not a 2007 car. But wouldn't $6,000 off MSRP be below invoice if I just want the sedan with no options. Actually a sunroof is all I want. I mean, most MSRPs are only about $3,000-$3,500 more than invoice price? I mean this is what I have seen as far as prices go.

    sedan
    invoice at around $28,500
    MSRP at around $31,000

    coupe
    invoice at around $30,500
    MSRP at around $32,500
  • bagadoughnutsbagadoughnuts Member Posts: 3
$2,500 factory to dealer. If you find a 2006 Sedan with sunroof only, you should get out the door under $30K. Base invoice- $2,500, + $1,000 sunroof, +$650 destination charge, plus a few hundred for splash guards and trunk mat, little or no documentation fees, add sales tax, tag, title= $29,XXX. 6K+ off MSRP is valid on car with options. Wait until after Thanksgiving and save more but risk limited stock. Crazy deals on last day of month, but have your financing and backbone in order.
  • valerievvaleriev Member Posts: 48
i got a quote today for $5K off msrp for 2006 G35x with package c + trunck mat + splash guard. I read that some are able to get 6500-7500 msrp.
  • yogiowneryogiowner Member Posts: 117
that's a great price...is the dealer in the nys/nj area? any suggestions. thanks in advance....

dealers in my area are trying to do a major rip off, by raising the prices of the 2006 g35x to around 31K.

if you got that low price, take it now...these dealers are completely insane right now.... :surprise:
  • gmoralesgmorales Member Posts: 8
I am actually looking to buy right after the Thanksgiving holidays. Is the $2,500 factory to dealer a discount that is also given to the coupe? As for the the $650 destination charge, this is non-negotiable right?

Do you think working from invoice price is a good way to go. I asked a car salesman friend of mine(Chevy dealership) for his advice and he said that a sedan with just sunroof for about $28,000 or a coupe with same options for $31,000 would be do able late november.

what do you think? Also, is trying to get financing through infiniti a bad thing, I have excellent credit, but my bank only goes as low as 6.95 APR. Thanks.
  • asingh80asingh80 Member Posts: 32
someone please reply to my query below:

I am looking to get a G35 sport but the dealer (Ray Catina, NJ) told me there's none available and will have to be factory ordered.

They are doing MSRP for this since it's not in stock.
  • guestguest Member Posts: 770
The costco deal is Invoice plus $2000-$2500. The more bells and whistles, the bigger the discount
  • yogiowneryogiowner Member Posts: 117
$2000 - 2500 above invoice is very near MSRP. I don't think this vehicle will be anywhere near $28 before next year. It's so popular, people are spending way too much for it.

I wish I could start a consumer action group against the collusion among dealers, to result in "fairer" pricing. It's alright for them to make a profit, but my goodness..it's insane.

I would really like to educate people as to how much a car should be worth, generally speaking. I don't know enough about car buying, but I am a finance person, I understand deprectiation, etc. It's just incredible the money you have to pay for a performance auto, which is going to increase your maintenance costs anyhow.

some dealers in nys and nj have the 2007, with all the features you are speaking about. but be prepared to part with $40k....
  • yogiowneryogiowner Member Posts: 117
btw, i would really like to see that happen. i've talked to at least five dealers in nyc and they are all holding MSRP. I would buy the car in a heartbeat if i could get it at $28k. I really doubt it, though...
  • goodcarguygoodcarguy Member Posts: 21
these kind of statements are really quite interesting to me. I haven't posted in a while but I have been following this thread to see what people (my customers) are saying. I actually work for infiniti but won't name the place. whether it's this product that's new...and it's really a terrific car...or any other car, customers commonly think that dealers make way too much profit. candidly, that's not the case. most sales sides of a dealership run at an operating loss. what's "fair" anyways? this business is more an education on people than anything else. if your that upset about people trying to sell a new product (it was released 14 days ago) wait until you hear about people paying 20,000 over Msrp for a new corvette Z06. remember this...customers set markets not sellers. why isn't it fair for a car that has the full potential to earn a motortrend award and many other accolades to sell at msrp? you don't have to buy the car and a "fair" price is what you agree to pay for it and what the seller agrees to sell it for and nothing more. besides the percentage of profit is nothing compared to many other products that people buy everyday.
