werter, how was the experience with your dealer, the dealers I contacted in my area, they don't give out quotes and keep sending e-mail asked me to go down to test drive.... and I don't want to go down before I get a reasonable quote.

    Thanks,
  • werterwerter Member Posts: 8
i wanted to do this big reply since very few emailing dealers help is available.

i am in the mid-south. there are only 2 infiniti dealers in my entire state!!

emailed at least 12-15 dealers in all the neighboring states.

added later: i did mention in my first email that i had already done a test drive and was interested in out the door price quotes. still everybody replied with $xxx + taxes.

    5 replied back.

1 - said flat $xxx. take it or leave it. no more bargaining. - ignored him after that

2,3,4 - gave me a price within $1000 of each other. mailed the others with the lower offer.

2 - said can't make it. u shld take the other offer!!

3 said "remember wherever u buy u hav to come to my dealership if u r local!! " - that was the end of him.

5 - kept emailing me with lot of qns - finance - come in to test drive - want used car for that price? even "misrepresented" facts - mailed me a price calc with destination charge + invoice when the invoice he quoted already had the destn. fee included - i stopped replying to him.

that left just one dealer (2) and he was good. we went back and forth on the price 2 more times. i was up from $27000 to $28300 out the door. he stopped replying for 2 days. then i caved in agreed to his last offer. went a couple of hundred more than i wanted.

after all the free add-ons (sunroof, deflector, trunk mat, cargo net) am satisfied now.

i was doing the same for 2 other models (VW and Mazda) - same kind of responses. remember i never walked in to a dealership and negotiated. that might be a different experience.

just keep mailing lot of dealers and wait 2-3 days for replies.

FYI, dealer 5 emailed me today "2.95% for 24 & 36 months and 4.95% for 48 & 60 months on G35s". dunno if it is true.

    hope this helps,

Wish you posted before we bought our car. Our car had paint damage on the roof, and the dealer said they take car of it. They tried buffing it out but it was still there. They took it a second time and they said they were not sure what they were going to do but they said the will call us to get authorization for any major work done. They of course didnt inform us and brought back the car and it looked like they took care of the damage and claimed they didn't repaint the car. Upon futher inspection we could tell it was repainted and it looks awful in some parts. We never thought that it would come down to a repaint of the whole roof. It should have been sanded and airbrushed, the damage wasnt that big. So now we are demanding a new car were afraid what they going to do it if they attempt another repair. So like ncognito13 says MAKE SURE THE CAR IS PERFECT. Cause we have one ugly $30,000 car now.

Only other thing I can do now is blast their name everywhere I can and tell people please DON'T BUY from INFINITI OF MONTCLAIR!!!

I tried to get my dealer to get as low as $30K but he didn't budge.. He only went down to $31,750. Hopefully that will give you an ideaof what you can get since the NAV package is like $1800. Hope that helps

These cars may lose their value a little as the 07 get delivered. However, come Nov. their will be little selection left and you may not get wha you want(options, color, etc).
  • tangox14tangox14 Member Posts: 3
This car is by far the best car for the price!! I've driven the IS250 AWD, BMW325x and Audi A4 Quattro and this car beats them hands down!! I just got my G35x yesterday and paid $33,300 with prem pack c, nav, and color splash guard, and trunk mat. I also got 2.95% financing through infiniti. If you are REALLY intersted in this car, I would suggest purchasing soon as the selection is getting limited. Good luck !!

I'm new to this site and i plan on buying a new 2006 G35 in the very near future. I know that since the 07's are coming out soon dealerships will dramatically lower the price of their remaining 06's. Do you think I could get a sedan, base package with nothing added for 25k OTD? I plan on paying all at once by check. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this.
  • gabriellogabriello Member Posts: 10
Maybe in November, because that is all that will bhe left on the lot.
  • aheahe Member Posts: 8
I seriously doubt it - lowest I have see any dealer go is 26900 for base before taxes and license - good luck

I wanted to update that my situation with Infiniti of Montclair, it has been taken care of, they made us completely satisifed. They allowed us to get a new car with no trouble at all! Thank you Infiniti of Montclair!!

That is very good news. I hope that you have many years of happy motoring.

I just picked up my G35X on thursday night and I am very pleased as well. The dealer made the 2nd car right in every way for me. I had to reject the first car due to the fact that the hood had the measles(spots all over it). The car is comfortable, quiet, and a pleasure to drive.

This board has been very helpful Thanks to everyone on here. Good luck with all the new Infinitis.........

'06 G35, Prem C Pkg, Splash Guards and Trunk Mat
    MSRP $35,800
    Invoice $32,761

I have been quoted a price of $31,200 + TTL. Based on other posts, seems like there is still some room for this to go down. Is $30,000 a reasonable target? Lower?

    Thanks.

I got my G35 sedan 6MT in June for $30K with the $35.8K MSRP. You should be able to get $30K or lower as they get ready for the '07 to come out in November.

I had to do some searching and email a bunch of internet managers as not many dealers carry the G35 Sedan with manual on the lot, and got good idea for the pricing and got another dealer to beat it. You just have to show them you're serious about the car and let them know what they have to do get your business or walk out.

Not sure what dealership you are planning on visiting but they all should be able to give you the car between $33,000 - $33,500. Not sure if you can get much better than that. However, the colors and options wil be limited come October.
  • im_spartacusim_spartacus Member Posts: 11
It's getting close to November, what prices are people getting on Coupes? Are dealers going below invoice?
  • guruggurug Member Posts: 24
coupe is below invoice but not that much. the sedan is the killer deal right, because the 07 coupe is not very different from the 06 model. next years, they should have deals similar to the sedans on the coupes.

im going to my local houston infiniti dealer and im looking to be a g35 sedan base with absolutely nothing. is it unreasonable to hope i can get it for 26k b4 ttl? tell me, now, what you think about this situation. mucho gracias.
  • ag85ag85 Member Posts: 3
To update my original post - and possibly to help others - I paid $30,800 for an '06 sedan. It worked out to about $2000 below invoice.

Also, another nearby dealer quoted $30,981 for the same options.

'06 G35 Sedan, Prem C Pkg, Splash Guards and Trunk Mat
    MSRP $35,800
    Invoice $32,761
(looks like Edmunds is now showing these numbers $50 higher, due to the $700 destination charge)

Thanks to everyone for the help. Enjoy your G35! I certainly will enjoy mine....

i just went to the infiniti dealer and for an '06 g35 base w/o sundroof, i was quoted 28,000. i had hoped to get it for 26,500, but since that was not possible, i just left. how much lower do u think i can get the car for?
  • ag85ag85 Member Posts: 3
Comparing the invoice price (w/$650 destination) on the base ($29,580) to one with Prem C/Splash Guards/Trunk Mat ($32,761), the base quote of $28,000 is virtually the same as the $31,200 I was first quoted on the second option - $1580 less than invoice vs. $1561. (As I noted earlier, another dealer quoted $30,981.)

I was only able to go another $400 lower (from $31,200), so I would think the base would go for no more than $27,600 (if my calculations and logic are correct). The dealer will want some markup on invoice, less the $2500 incentive, so they're going to look for some markup above $27,080 for the base model.

For what it's worth, prior to the '06 FX release, '05 FX35s were offered for $6000 off MSRP - and eventually $7000 off, so G35 prices may go lower as the '07 release approaches.

Of course, I'm no expert on any of this, but maybe this will help.

I know this is a long shot, but has anyone seen this color combo in the tri state area (NY, NJ, CT). Am looking for Premium C with Nav and Sirius. Thanks!

I'm looking for a deal on above car in Las Vegas. I would be happy with basic edition with sunroof. I checked with the Costco buying service and their contact is a dealership in Mesa, Arizona. Will the local dealerships deal, or do I need to go out of state?
  • tx911tx911 Member Posts: 2
Dealer in Houston agreed to $2k below invoice on a car with only trunk mat and splash guards. The dealer in my home town agreed to get me the same car for about $80 more. I didn't even get a response from dealers when I offered invoice minus $2500, so that must be a bridge too far.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Do you mind telling me how much you paid for your G35? Please include the options you got and how much was OTD price you paid. Thanks.
  • djettadjetta Member Posts: 22
Just signed on the line for a G35x, Premium C, Nav, Sirius radio and wood trim. Price of the car was $34K and the dealer threw in all weather mats. The car just arrived on the lot last week, is still in plastic and has 19 miles. I was going to try to negotiate a somewhat lower price, but the salesperson worked hard to make the sale and the dealership is close to home. I'm happy and can't wait til Tuesday when it comes home. :shades:

to update my previous post, I just purchased a 2006 G35 Sedan 6MT, with splash guards and trunk mat for $27,600 (about $2k under invoice) from Austin Infiniti. :) The deals may get better, but the supply of 2006 G35s is also shrinking, especially the relatively rare manual transmission sedans.
  • idahoivan2idahoivan2 Member Posts: 2
Just closed on a new 2006 Base G35 w/sunroof and splash guards. Price was $27,600 +TTL. Great experience from Troncalli Infiniti in Decatur, GA.

    Hi,
Is your car come with prium C package and wood trim? I got an offer from dealer for 30800 for new 2006 Base G35 w/sunroof and splash guards, Prium C package and wood trim. Do you think that's good price? Thanks!
  • idahoivan2idahoivan2 Member Posts: 2
My car did not come with any packages - just the straight base w/automatic, sunroof, and splash guards. With your options priced at invoice, it looks like your getting more than the $2,500 that infiniti gives to its dealers. Sounds good to me. Good Luck!

Ten days ago I leased a G35 coupe in the Bay Area with Premium package, active rear steering, and XM radio for $200 over invoice, money factor (.00231).

I'm looking at buying an 03' or newer G35 Coupe 6-Speed, with Aero, Premium, winter and sunroof, and less than 35000miles.
I'm going to be bringing this vehicle back to Canada so it doesn't really matter which state I buy it in tax wise (I know about all the duty and GST I have to pay)
As long as the vehicle has been registered for 6months in the U.S. I'm interested as the warranty will transfer over.

Do you suggest any states that might be better for finding this vehicle cheaper compared to other states?
I'm looking to spend around $25k (USD), is this a reasonable amount for the car I'm looking for? G35's carry a much higher price tag up here in Canada.
    Thanks in advance.

I believe that you have to own the vechile for 6 month before importing it if you want a tax break. If you do some legwork you should be able to get it around the private party price listed here at edmunds.com. However, the price difference between new cars in US and Canada is even greater. They were not price at the current exchange rates...

$26200 for base model with sunroof? That sounds like an incredible deal! The best offer I have received so far is $27250 for base model plus splash guards and trunk mat. Did you really pay $26200 or is that a typo?

I just signed on a 06 G35x with premium option liquid platinum, with stone inter. They have another one in this color but not sure of the interior. It may be black?
Kelly Infinity, Danvers, Mass. I know a little out of your area but just thought I'd let you know.

  • kennyg8kennyg8 Member Posts: 225
That is one incredible deal you got. According to carsdirect.com, your car is about 37k in NYC area. So, you are getting your car at 2.5k below invoice?
  • djettadjetta Member Posts: 22
kennyg8-I did get a really great deal. The car MSRP was almost 40K. In addition to Premium C, Nav, Sirius and Wood trim, the car also had painted splash guards and trunk mat with full size tire. I had a price in mind and they had the car on the lot so I guess it worked out for us both. It's a great car and I'm glad I decided to make the purchase.
  • toyobitoyobi Member Posts: 5
I bought a base G35 sedan auto tranny with splash guard and trunk mat for $26700 on 10/05/2006. It was $3045 off the invoice and a relatively easy deal. I think another a few hundred off the price will be no problem. The salesman even delivered the car to my office and paperwork took about 15 minutes. I hope this helps someone else in the market.

    I just got a G35x last month.
Brand new 15 miles, Premium C, 4 chrome wheels, sirius satellite radio for $32K + TTL.

Just accepted the offer for a 2006 6MT sedan with sunroof, aero, no premium. The car has just over 1000 miles (demo). Price was $277/month 12K/24 months wth $3000 net due at signing. So this adds up to $9375 total payments over the life of the lease or $0.39/mile. I believe this is a great deal ... thoughts?
  • guruggurug Member Posts: 24
    hey,
i would recommend that decrease the $3000 due at signing as much as possible and increase the monthly payment instead. This way, if anything goes wrong, u dont loose the downpayment.
  • murrowmurrow Member Posts: 72
$3k is a lot of money up front. I've always considered not needing to fork over a big chunk of cash up front one of the advantages of leasing.
  • paulo6paulo6 Member Posts: 94
Thanks...i am considering doing that too. With $2K down, payment goes to $320 and with $1000 it goes to about $360..still a good deal I believe
