$27000 + title/tax for G35 sedan automatic no optional equipment.
By the way, they said this was below invoice price (around $31000 before tax but still making nice $1500 from rebates)
Waiting for the offer with navigation.. i will post as soon as i get it..
edmunds says $2500 incentive for dealers right now.. so u might be able to knock another $500 down i guess.. but trade in value for ur audi seems fairly low which is expected from a dealer.
I'm looking to sell my 2003 g35 Coupe here in the SF Bay area but I am unsure as to how to go along doing this. I'm skeptical selling private because I don't want strangers tearing up my tires on test drives. I'll most likely get screwed on a trade in. I do not have any high expectations for making money on the deal just that my car loan is paid off.
Has anybody had luck with selling to Carmax? I actually bought this car from them on the east coast and had a very pleasant experience.
Any suggestions or advice you can provide is very much appreciated.
Andy
MSRP $35,800.00
Purchas Price $30,520.70
(w/o Tax, Tag, Fees)
$2100 below invoice
But they apparently sold me a damaged car (paint damaged on roof), and I'm having a heck of a time getting them to fix it, so stay away from Infinit of Montclair :lemon:
G35 sedan with no optional equipment(invoice $29580) for $29700 out the door.
with almost 10% tax+title here it is nearly $3000 under invoice
any opinions? is this a good price? if not, what would be a good price?
The dealer incentive is a special payment made by Infiniti to the dealer, to assist in clearing inventory on a specific model... The dealer usually will achieve that by passing along the incentive in the form of lower selling prices on that particular model..
Holdback is a payment that Infiniti makes to the dealer on every unit sold... Ostensibly, it is to defray the cost of financing the dealer's inventory... I believe that it equals 3% of either MSRP or invoice price on each vehicle.. Most dealers aren't interested in sharing this money with the buyer, thought that will vary with the competitive market.

Other members here say you can even get into the holdback, as well... That may be true at certain dealerships, but of course, there is no guarantee that your local dealership will match that price..
Good luck!

The car-buying process in this country is so incredibly inefficient and moronic! There has to be a better way!
This board is a terrific source for info..glad I stumbled upon it...
I think I'd believe that is correct, unless you can find independent information to the contrary...

Thanx,

Then the sales rep quotes a buy price of $34,773..which i knew was too much. After some chit chat the sales manager wants to meet me and after some banter he drops the price to $32,608+DMV fees+tax and explains that the lease price is based on the full MSRP but he has received some special funds to make a deduction on the buy price.
By my calculations the car minus the holdback mnus the 2500 manuf to dealer incentive plus the c package actually costs them $30,668. The lease being based on MSRP is off putting to be sure but the buy price which is $560 below invoice($33,168 after their holdback of $940) is not bad. Just not good enough. Sooo, on Monday I will counter with my best price and see if they take it.
If I were to put down 5081.49 the 39 month lease would cost $326.21.
Any thoughts on these figures??...I think the extra money they have to work with just being on the purchase is baloney but who knows.
$30,580 invoice price on G35x base model
3,016 invoice price on premium package C
650 destination charge

$34,236 dealer invoice
Factor in (subtract) a $2500 manufacturer to dealer incentive and a dealer holdback of either 1% (Edmunds) or 3%(Consumer Reports) of the MSRP...depending on what you believe. Check out his inventory online...he may be stuck with a lot of G35x models. I think the dealer can do a little bit better myself and come down more. They aren't losing money but they won't just give them away either. Just my 2 cents worth.
Make an offer for whatever you want to..if they accept you buy the car if they don't you can go up or walk away. I just went on Edmunds to compare the lease quotes I got to the buy price..and it is amazing the difference in savings to buy the car. I was really amazed.
Good luck with your offer..
Can you believe this! First they hand me a purchase order to sign which they "forgot" to subtract my trade in...oops
Then they proceeded to rush through the rest of deal and as I was signing my name on the contract they asked for my credit card so they could take a deposit. I took five steps out the door before I realized the deposit was NOT even a subtraction on the contract I just signed! Was I silly for thinking an Infiniti dealership would have more class??
I don't know..

I just sold my 4Runner and am going out to buy a G35 Coupe this week. I am dreading the experience. I would rather buy a new house. I am gonna shoot for the 1.9% financing for 36 mos.
Is there anything else i should know in ref to pricing, before i go down to the shop.
Thanks.
the only incentive on coupes is the special financing...no money back
